JACOB RIVER'S POV

With the Annihilation Line under control, we got some time to prepare a counter-attack. In the meantime, Commander Baron wants me to check in on Alvin, who is Downtown doing maintenance work for our Defense System by the time a mysterious Hellenic-style 'GATE' appeared.

"More wounded!" yelled the doorkeeper. That morning, Sgt. Jacob Rivers, DN46890, was on a hurry, with his hand holding an R95 Plasma Rifle. He arrived at an exit of the Resistance bunker, where he saw many injured Roman soldiers, looking tired and panting. "Who are these guys!?" thought Jacob. "We need a medic to handle them!" said a wounded Resistance soldier. Jacob quickly dispatched himself toward the wounded soldier. "I'm telling you. I saw something…" said the doorkeeper. "What's happening, Private?" asked Jacob. "Couple of Aerial flew in and dropped containers full of Metals. They started shooting while our Defense System did nothing," said him weakly.

"What about the doctor? Where's Alvin? And who are...THEY?" asked Jacob. "They? I don't know. The only thing I knew is they appeared out of nowhere. And the doctor is still out there," answered him. "Alright. I'm going," said Jacob. Before he could reach the exit, the wounded Resistance Soldier manages to tell him something. "There's one more thing, Sarge. Before I got hit and dragged here, I manage to catch a glimpse of a Hellenic-style Gate that mysteriously appeared out of nowhere. I think…[ heavy breathing ] that's where the Roman armies came from," said him.

Jacob got himself at the exit. The doorkeeper seems to be worried. "Seargent, We're outnumbered and they kept bringing more wounded. We don't stand a chance, we have to evacuate," said him. "Is Alvin still there?" asked Jacob. "He is, Sir," answered him. "Then we're not leaving. We have to bring him back and see what the hell is going on with those defences and brief Commander Baron on what's happening here," said Jacob. "I'm moving out. You stay here with the wounded," "You want me to break the radio silence?" asked the doorkeeper before he opens the door. "At this point, it doesn't matter. Does it?" said Jacob. "Understood," said the doorkeeper.

As Jacob exits the bunker, he could saw 2 missiles struck down the road in front of him. "Oh shoot!" said him as he fell due to the explosion. Behind him, two Resistance Soldier appeared, helping him. "Sarge, you're okay?" asked him. "I'm okay. You two follow me, we have to reach those Defense System!," yelled Jacob. The three ventured down the street of Pasadena. An HK-Aerial hovers above them but didn't shoot. "Spider up ahead!" cried a Resistance soldier. An armoured Spider was scouting the area until it saw them and starts to shoot its plasma weapon. "Kill it!" yelled another Resistance soldier. They start to shoot it. Jacob took the last shot from his plasma rifle before the spider exploded into shrapnel. "Got it!" said a Resistance soldier. "Lead the way," said Jacob as he let his rifle to cool down.

All of sudden, a monstrous roar heard from a distance, when they took a sight, they saw a flying beast took down an Aerial. The HK spun uncontrollably before it crashed down. Jacob, who also witnessed the scene, left shocked. "A dragon!?" cried Jacob. "Sarge! It's coming here!" warned his company as the dragon starts to fly towards them. He quickly ran himself into a tunnel. Too bad the dragon couldn't grab him. "This way!" The three walked into the path and met another Resistance's member. "Good to see you, Seargent!" a Resistance soldier said. "What's the status?" asked Jacob. "We've got a defensive perimeter set up just down the road," said the soldier. As Jacob went out of the tunnel, another HK-Aerial flew above them. "Doesn't seem to be working," said Jacob. "Skynet dropped reinforcements behind their backs. Now they're between a rock and a hard place!" yelled the soldier. As they raced down the streets, the met Skynet's machines; 2 Armoured Spiders, 2 T-800s and a T-808. "Alright, we need to reach our guys! Let's clear the way!" exclaimed Jacob as he threw a pipe grenade toward the T-808. The T-808 detected Jacob and fires its flamethrower, without realizing the pipe grenade under its feet. The grenade exploded, killing it an Armoured Spider. "That's good!" said a soldier. "Resume fire!" yelled Jacob as they attacked the remaining units. "Keep moving!" said him as he took down the last T-800.

The Resistance Soldiers continued their way to Downtown, when suddenly… "Goblins! Here they come!" cried a soldier next to him. "Gob-" before he could finish his sentences, a goblin-like creature jumped toward him and bit his left arm. "Ahh! F*ck it!" cried Jacob in pain before he grabbed his Termination Knife and stabbed its head. It won't be taking too long before the electric charge from the knife instantly kill it. "Great. First Roman armies, then the dragon, and now Goblins!" thought Jacob angrily as he kicked the carcass of the creature. The other Resistance soldiers were also struggling with the creatures. Without their realization, a loud stomping sound can be heard further.

"T-47! Watch out!" cried a Resistance soldier as he saw the bipedal Hunter-Killer appeared behind the ruined wall of a building together with a group of Armoured Drones. "Flank it!" yelled Jacob as he shoots down the Armoured Drones. The T-47 took a position and started to fire its dual minigun, killing 4 Resistance soldiers. "Damn it," muttered Jacob as he took a canister grenade. "Take out those smaller units," said a Resistance soldier as fires his TC2000-R toward the drones. "Fire in Your Hole!" cried Jacob as he threw the canister grenade toward the T-47. It exploded, momentarily knocking down the T-47 while killing the drones. "Now! Shoot it before it reboots!" yelled Jacob as he and other Resistances shoot the T-47's power generator situated on its back. "Aerial! Take cover!" said a soldier as an Aerial hover into the battle, giving a fire cover for the T-47.

Alas, it rebooted, letting out a metallic roar, before resume fire. "Oh good," said Jacob before pulled out another canister grenade and threw it at the T-47. The canister exploded, impairing the T-47. The Resistance kept firing their plasma weapon the T-47. Realizing that it was in great danger the bipedal HK launched its missiles. "Rockets!" "Look for grenades!" cried the soldiers. Jacob took a cover behind car wreckage to avoid getting hit. "It won't f*cking die!" cried a soldier. Perceived with the situation, Jacob took a pipe grenade, lighted it up, and threw it toward the attacking T-47 while firing his Plasma Rifle TC2100-R Scoped toward the machine. It exploded, momentarily knocking down the T-47. "Now! Shoot it before it reboots!" yelled Jacob as he and other Resistances shoot the T-47's power generator situated on its back. Finally, the T-47 exploded into pieces of shrapnel. "Finally!" exclaimed Jacob.

"This way! It's just behind the overpass!" said a Resistance Soldier. The group ventured down the streets heading for Downtown, only without their expectation, they were attacked by a T-808. "Flamethrower!" "Shoot the tank!" The group starts to shoot it while getting another assault from 2 Armoured Drones, a T-825, and an Armoured Spider. "Time to blast!" yelled Jacob as he took a canister grenade, activated it, and threw it toward the machines. The canister exploded, inflicting damage toward the T-808 and instantly killing the other machines. "We're through!" exclaimed a soldier. "Seargent, take two of my men and proceed up the hill. We'll stay here to keep Skynet away from you," said the leading Resistance soldier. The group raced through the building debris and vehicles wreckage until they finally reached an exit.

"Seargent, we've got this. Find the doc," said the soldier as he giving fire cover for him. Jacob walked up the hill and met two Resistance soldier. "Follow me!" said Jacob. Not arbitrarily, out of the blue, as they descended the hill, they were assaulted by three Roman soldiers. The Resistance soldiers got themselves stabbed and killed by the sword of the two Roman soldiers, but they manage to kill them back with their plasma rifles. Jacob? He got himself strangled by the remaining soldier.

The Roman man choked his neck. Jacob almost fainted, until...

-Pew Pew!- [Plasma Weapon firing sound effect]. The Roman was shot at his head, instantly killing him. Disgusted, as Jacob remove the dead body, he discovered the one who responsible for the Roman army's death; a Japanese-like man, wearing a Type III Flecktarn Camouflage uniform while his hand holding a modified Howa Type 64 Plasma Battle Rifle {I just mix-named it on my own}. The man helped Jacob to stand. "Are you okay?" asked the man in English-Japanese accent. "Yes, I am. Who are you?" asked Jacob as he recovered himself.

"JN47890, 1st. Lt. Yoji Itami of Japanese Resistance," said the man, Itami. "DN46890, Sgt. Jacob Rivers of Tech-Com," said Jacob. Both of them clasped their hand. "A Japanese Resistance!? How did you get here!?" asked Jacob, shocked. "It's a long story. I'll tell you later," said Itami. "We need to rescue the Doc before the tanks reach us!" said Jacob as he took his fallen plasma rifle. "We're too late! They're already here!" said Itami as he points his finger toward a hill further than the place they're standing. Jacob quickly scanned the view with his binocular and saw 2 HK-Tanks scurried down the hill. "We better go!" said Itami. The two raced through the ruins and destructions until they reached an open area. "This is it!" cried Jacob. "Jacob! Watch out! I'll take care of those drones! Go fetch the Doc!" said Itami as he fires his Howa Type 64 Plasma Battle Rifle, settling down the Armoured Drones and 2 T-800. The shots from the Plasma Battle Rifle was very devastating that it could take down a Skynet's machine just in 5 seconds only with 5 bullets.

Jacob quickly gets himself to a small hut, where Alvin [the Doctor] was sheltering. "Alvin!" cried Jacob as he saw him under the desk. "Oh my God! I'm glad to see you!" exclaimed Alvin, feeling relieved. "What happened here? Why is the Defense System are not working?" asked Jacob. "They are working! But its power transmission got disrupted by the time a Gate-like structure appeared," explained Alvin. "A Gate-like structure? We need to leave now!" said Jacob. "Yes, let's do that! I'm all for that!" said Alvin. All of sudden, explosions occurred outside of the hut, causing Itami to take cover inside the hut. "Jacob! We need to go! Skynet's coming" said Itami. "Okay!" said Jacob. "Who's he?" asked Alvin. "A Japanese Resistance. Dunno how could he get here," explained Jacob. The three went out of the hut and race through the street. A missile exploded in front of them. "Ah! I don't like this! I don't even like any of this!" cried Alvin, panicked. As they reached an exit, Jacob spotted an HK-Aerial, waiting for them. "Aerial!" yelled Jacob. "No worries. Katsumoto, nail it with the Panzerfaust!" cried Itami. Just then, a man appeared behind a car with a rocket launcher in his arm. "On the way!" said him as he pulled the trigger, the 110mm warhead flew from its launcher and perfectly hit the engine of the Aerial, causing it to explode and spun uncontrollably before it crashed down. "Nice shot!" praised Alvin. "Follow me! I'll lead the way to Pasadena!" cried Jacob.

The group follows Jacob and reached under building wreckage. "We're safe!" said Alvin, panting. Now, the four had finally got themselves safe and sound to return to Pasadena, but behind them, Skynet manages to capture the Downtown, and now the only thing that left behind was…the 'GATE'.
