RESISTANCE SHELTER
JACOB RIVER'S POV
All the advantages that we manage to gain are now lost. Downtown is gone and the Annihilation Line will continue to push forward. With us Tech-Com soldiers having two Japanese Resistance members, we need to prepare ourselves for whatever's coming, including what will pour out of the 'GATE'.
After 1 hour of walking and running, the boys finally arrived at the Resistance Shelter in Pasadena. The two Japanese Resistance members shocked the civilians and even the Tech-Com soldiers. "Japanese...Resistance!?" "You must be kidding, right?" "You're a Skynet collaborator? Or an...Infiltrator!?" the guards at the checkpoint exploded into worries. "Nope, they're not," said Jacob. The guards were relieved to hear it. Even better, as Itami head patted a German Shepherd, it didn't show any sign, to which the guard confirmed him that he's not an infiltrator.
"いい子," said Itami. The group then walked through the hallway of the shelter. The 4 then settled themselves into the shelter. "You go talk to the commander. I had enough excitement one day," said Alvin before he entered his laboratory and took a rest. As Alvin entered his lab, Itami asked Jacob, "Hey, Jacob. Can you take us to your commander?" "Of course, follow me this way," answered Jacob. The three walked through the narrow passage of the Resistance Shelter, on their way, Jacob met upon Ryan, who was fixing his radio. "Hey, what's up?" Greeted Jacob. "I know you're busy, son. But I found something. Something you'll like; a tape from back in the day!" Exclaimed Ryan. "I want to play it for you but my boombox is busted. So if you're out there, find one that works for me, okay?" Asked Ryan after he explained about the radio. "Maybe I can help you fix it," said Katsumoto. "That's a kind of you...Hey! You must be the Japanese Resistance, aren't you?" Asked Ryan, utterly shocked with his appearance. "Yes, we are!" Exclaimed Itami. "[Sigh] Very glad that there were still people living in the other country. I felt very lonely after Judgement Day happened, you know. Luckily, I've got Rivers as a companion," said Ryan.
"Anyway, Jacob. Back to our topic, can we see the commander?" Asked Itami. "Yes, yes. Follow me," said Jacob. While Katsumoto was helping Ryan with his boombox, Jacob and Itami continued their way until they reached an entrance with a sign, reading: COMMANDER's ROOM, where Commander Baron was waiting for him. "Commander," said Jacob before saluting her. "Rivers, you want to explain to me what the hell happened?" Asked Baron in an angry tonne. "We...lost downtown," said Jacob, stuttered. "I know that much. But, how's that possible? What happened to our defence system?" Asked her. Jacob explained, "Alvin said that the Defense Grid's power transmission got disrupted by the time a mysterious Hellenic-style Gate appeared out of nowhere in the middle of downtown," explained Jacob. "He said what?" asked Baron, surprised. "Whatever it is, I heard that you brought two members of Japanese Resistance with us," said Baron. "Yes, it is. He's one of them, JN47890, 1st Lt. Yoji Itami," said Jacob. "Commander, report!" said Itami, saluting her. Baron saluted him back. "Well then, you might want to tell me how you get here," said Baron. "Yes, Ma'am. But… it's too complicated to tell it," said Itami.
Suddenly, Commander Baron's communication radio crackled. It was the Resistance soldiers who went for scavenging and scouting outside the perimeter of downtown, "This is DN10180 to Pasadena Shelter, Commander, do you read me? Over?" The soldier's word was repetitive until Baron answered it. "This is Commander Jessica Baron, DN38217, I'm listening to you," said her. "Any progress at Downtown?" asked her. "We've got bad news, Commander. It seems like Skynet's machines were gathering in a row in front of a mysterious Hellenic-style Gate that appeared this afternoon," said the Resistance soldier. Their conversation was heard by Jacob and Itami. "What!? Did you just say… Skynet's machines are gathering in front of… the 'GATE'," asked Itami in horror.
"What?" "Why?" asked Jacob and Baron. "Tsk… You won't believe this," said Itami before he explained to them about the GATE. "About 2 weeks ago, a same mysterious Hellenic-style Gate appeared in the middle of Ginza, Tokyo, in which at that time, a few of our men went to investigate, only to get assaulted by men in roman armour and their monsters; wyverns, ogres, and even, they brought battering ram with them. But then, their fate? Attacked and terminated by Skynet's HK Tanks and HK Aerials troop," said Itami."My goodness," said Jacob. "And then, what happened next? Skynet…" before Baron could finish her sentences, Itami quickly said, "Yes, Skynet in Japan went aware of the GATE and decided to summon up every of their machines and went inside the GATE. They never returned then, just in 5 days, we later found out that the whole of Japan was completely… deserted! No more HK Tanks! No more HK Aerials! And even, no more TERMINATORS! The only thing that was left behind was Skynet's plasma containers," explained Itami.
"Seems like you guys having fun exploding those containers," joked Baron. "Err… Yes, but I'm not yet done. When we decided to explore what's beyond the GATE, we found out that the GATE was connected to the OTHER WORLD!" exclaimed Itami. "Other World!?" the two exploded in shock. "Yes, into the other world, where we set up a new base near the GATE under the command of JN82314, Commander Kouichirou Hazama," said Itami. After Itami finished telling his story, Baron ordered her troops under the command of Jacob back to Downtown. Even though some of them refused, but, they had no choice. They reached downtown through a secret tunnel where only Resistance Soldiers can go through. As they approached under the rubble of a building, they saw an even worse sight. By the time they arrived, Skynet had deployed multiple numbers of HK-Tanks and a battalion of T-800 to T-825'V' Terminators, armed with their M-25 Plasma Rifle. All of them were carried inside a metal container under the belly of HK-Aerials. To make things worse, a group of T-47 joined together alongside a few number of Armoured Spiders and Armoured Drones. All of them started to depart into the GATE.
"Oh no, this is bad," said Itami. "Let's hope they won't notice our base at Alnus Hill," said Katsumoto, worried. "Inform the Commander immediately, now!" ordered Jacob to another Resistance Soldier.
As they passed the gate, the HK-Tanks setted up a defensive perimeter around the gate while the HK-Aerials dropped their metal-carriage, deploying every Terminator inside it. As the tanks scanned the Horizon, they saw fires lighting up in the distance, quickly alarming every single unit. The T-47s had themselves prepared with their rocket launcher and the infantry Terminators [T-800s and T-825 'V's] ready to engage with their M-25 Plasma Rifle. The roman armies, who were preparing themselves to launch attack with their wyverns, battering ram, trebuchet and war elephants, were shocked and terrified to see those red-eyed metal-skeletal creatures.
Just then, the sun rises behind the GATE, and Skynet's machine breaks loose the hell.
Hence...Skynet, and the Resistance...fought there.
