Best Laid Plans-Ch 44
After sharing several dances and enjoying a delicious meal together Derek leaned in and whispered, "would you like to take a walk"?, she looked up at him and said, "I'd love that hotstuff". They made their way outside and started walking toward the park.
Penelope looked around and said, "it's beautiful here isn't it"?, Derek said, "the view is amazing from where I'm standing baby girl", she looked up at him and blushed as she said, "but you're looking at me". They stopped and he cupped her face in his hands and whispered, "exactly" as his lips gently pressed against hers in a passionate kiss.
As they pulled apart Derek said, "have I told you how much I love you"?, she giggled and said, "I do believe that you have but I never tire of hearing it". Derek caressed her cheek and said, "you are the love of my life sweet lady, you always have been and you always will be".
They continued walking until they walked up to the huge pond in the center of the park, Penelope said, "wowwwwww, just look at this place, isn't it amazing"?, Derek wrapped his arms around her from behind and said, "it sure is, it's very amazing, very romantic isn't it"?, she nodded her head and said, "sure is".
They stood there wrapped in each others arms and Derek said, "I'm so glad that all of that junk with Savannah and Kevin is finally over with and now we can focus on us, on our lives together". She leaned back and rested her head against his chest and said, "me too handsome, me too".
Derek said, "do you know what I see for us baby girl"?, she said, "what"?, he smiled and said, "I see a long and happy life together, I see us married, I see the kids, I see the white picket fence, I see it all". Penelope turned around in his arms and looked up at him and said, "really, you really see all of that for us"?, he nodded his head and kissed her lips gently and said, "I do".
She then watched as he dropped to one knee and held up a small black box, he said, "Penelope Grace Garcia, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are my rock, my guiding light, my everything and that's why I have a question to ask you".
Her heart was racing as he said, "will you do me the honor of marrying me and spending the rest of your life with me"?, tears streamed down her face and she said, "yes, yes Derek, yes". He pulled the ring from the box and slid it on her finger and then stood up and pulled her into his arms and pressed his lips against hers in a passionate kiss.
The kiss quickly deepened earning moans of passion from them both, they pulled apart and Derek rested his forehead against hers and said, "their is nothing more I want than to spend the rest of the night making love to you baby girl".
She blushed and said, "I want that too, I've dreamed of being with you for so long", Derek caressed her cheek and said, "I think, well I think that". Penelope said, "you think what"?, he said, "I think we should wait until we get married to make love".
Penelope said, "you what"?, Derek looked down at her and said, "you are everything to me baby girl and the first time we make love I want it to be special, I want us to be married". She looked up at him and said, "you know that I'm not a virgin, right"?, he laughed and said, "what, you're not"? and they both laughed as he pulled her into his arms again.
She sighed and said, "I'll do it on one condition"?, Derek said, "what's that"?, she looked up at him and said, "that we get married soon and by soon I mean the next week or so". Derek grinned and said, "I agree with you baby girl, the sooner we get married the better".
Penelope said, "I love you", Derek said, "I love you too" and wrapped his arm around her as they stood looking at the beautiful pond in front of them.
