Best Laid Plans-Ch 45
Once again that night Derek and Penelope laid wrapped in each others arms as they drifted off to sleep after an amazing first date together. The next morning they sent the team a group text asking them to come to Dereks house so they could share the news of their engagement.
After the team arrived and after a round of "it's about time" and "congratulations" and of course Fran saying, "maybe now I can get those gorgeous grandbabies you've been promising me" they celebrated with a huge family breakfast and then the women split off into one group to them selves and started with the wedding plans.
The men on the other hand were trying to find out about the night before and how he proposed, by the time Derek was finished Reid was all smiles. He put his hand on the older mans shoulder and said, "I'm so happy for you, it's about time that you finally get the love you both deserve".
Dave smiled and said, "you and kitten are meant to be together son, we all know that, we always have", Derek sighed and nodded his head and said, "I'm just sorry that it took me so long to figure it out". Hotch smiled and said, "the important thing is that you are together now and nobody can take that away from you" causing Derek to smile happily an nod his head yes in agreement.
In another part of casa Morgan the women were all sitting around Penelope as she filled them in on her date with Derek from the night before. Emily smiled and said, "sounds like you had a wonderful night, sooooooooo how was, you know, was it as good as you dreamed it would be"?, Fran said, "I love my son and future daughter-in-law but I do not, I repeat I do not want to know about their sex life".
Penelope said, "wellllllll we haven't been together, not yet", JJ said, "you haven't, but why"?, Penelope shocked them all when she said, "Derek wants to wait until we're married". Sarah said, "my brother is wanting to wait"?, Penelope nodded her head and said, "he said that he wanted it to be special and I agree, i want our first time, our every time to be perfect and if waiting is what will achieve that then I guess we'll just have to wait".
Desi said, "and that's another reason why the wedding is so soon, right"?, causing everybody to laugh as Penelope nodded her head and said, "exactly". Fran put her hand on Penelopes and said, "well then how about you tell us what kind of wedding you want"?, Penelope said, "I want something small, simple just for us and our family".
Emily looked at JJ and the others before looking at Penelope and said, "well then let's get this wedding planned and get you married", Penelope grinned and said, "yes, let's" as the women all went into wedding planning mode.
