Best Laid Plans-Ch 46
The wedding plans were finished in a matter of a couple of days and now they were putting the finishing touches to it so that everything will be perfect. Derek was currently with the men at Hotch and Emilys house while Penelope was with the girls at casa Rossi.
All of the women were laughing and enjoying their night with the future bride, they were eating and telling stories of their weddings and honeymoons. Sarah looked at Penelope and said, "any idea where you're going"?, Penelope said, "sadly we can't go far, but it's not the place I'm worried about, just as long as I get to spend time alone with Derek, that's all that matters to me" and all of the women smiled and said, "awwwwwww" causing her to blush and throw pillows at them.
Derek, meanwhile across town was laughing as he watched Reid playing with Henry and Jack, Dave looked at him and said, "soon that will be you playing with your children, are you ready for that"?., Derek sighed happily and said, "I can't wait until we have kids, I want beautiful little boys and girls that look like her and Dave laughed and said, "and of course we'll spoil them all rotten".
Derek grinned and said, "I never doubted that for a minute Dave, not one minute", Reid walked over and said, "your mom has been talking about grandbabies for years so it's about time that you give her some". Derek held up his hands and said, "give us time, we'll get there, we'll get there" causing the men all to laugh.
Back with the women JJ and Emily were with Penelope while the others were getting their snacks together so they could rejoin the celebration. JJ looked at Penelope and said, "what's wrong, you should be happy, you're marrying the love of your life tomorrow".
Penelope said, "oh I am happy Jayje, it's just that I'm nervous", Emily said, "nervous, nervous about what, the wedding"?, Penelope said, "no, not really the wedding it's the honeymoon". JJ said, "what about it"?, Penelope looked down at her hands and said, "what if I'm not enough, what if" and Emily quickly said, "stop that right now, Derek loves you, it's always been you, he loves you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet".
JJ said, "you are the woman that he's always wanted to be with, you two are destined to be together", Penelope looked up at her as she said, "you do love him right"?, Penelope said, "with every beat of my heart I love him more", Emily said, "well then just trust that love, trust Derek".
Penelope sighed and said, "I will", she then wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks and said, "thanks girlies, I really needed that". Fran and the girls walked into the room and Desi said, "alright it's time to pig out" and Penelope looked at the tray of snacks and said, "ohhhhh you can never go wrong with chocolate" and the others laughed as they started digging in to the delicious food.
Over the next couple of hours both households were filled with food, laughter and friends as they spent the night together anxiously waiting for the next day. A day that they were afraid would never happen, a day that they hoped for, the wedding of their friends, the wedding of Derek and Penelope.
As they all drifted off to sleep they couldn't help but smile as they couldn't wait to see what joy tomorrow brings to Derek and Penelope.
