Best Laid Plans-Ch 56
Derek stayed with Penelope and his son for a few minutes before the baby was taken away to be weighed, measured and checked out. Penelope smiled up at her husband and said, "I'm so glad that you made it, I was afraid that you weren't going to make it".
He leaned down and kissed her lips gently and said, "I'm so sorry sweetness, but, the important thing is that I made it", she sighed and said, "true my love, true". Derek intertwined his fingers with hers and said, "we need to talk about something baby girl".
She said, "we do, what"?, he smiled and said, "we need to decide on a name for our son", Penelope said, "about that, I think I have a name that totally suits our little man". Derek said, "ohhhh is that so"?, she giggled and said, "yes that's so" as she pulled him down for another kiss.
They pulled apart when one of the nurses walked over and said, "Penelope, we're ready to take you upstairs to your room". She nodded her head and said, "thank you", the nurse smiled and said, "you are very welcome" and turned and started walking away when Derek said, "excuse me".
She said, "yes sir"?, Derek said, "when will we be able to see our son again"?, the younger nurse grinned and said, "he'll join you just as soon as we get your wife settled". Derek kissed his wife on the lips and said, "I'll see you upstairs".
Penelope winked at him and said, "that you will my love, that you will" and she then watched as he walked across the room and out the door. Meanwhile in the waiting room Reid said, "what's taking so long, where's Morgan"?, Derek said, "I'm right here pretty boy".
Everybody ran over to him and JJ said, "how's Garcie"?, Derek said, "both Penelope and our son are doing great, as a matter of fact they're moving her upstairs to her room right now". Dave grinned and said, "your son is gorgeous"
Hotch grinned and said, "he looks a lot like his mommy" and Derek said, "I couldn't agree more with ya bossman, I totally second that". Fran hugged her son and said, "well then let's get upstairs, I can't wait to hold my grandson" and everybody nodded their heads in agreement as they followed Derek toward the elevators.
When they walked into Penelopes room a few minutes later she was holding the baby in her arms, she looked up and smiled and said, "hi guys, why don't you all come over and meet the newest member of our family" and they all grinned as they walked closer.
Fran said, "ohhhhh he's a handsome little fella", Penlope looked at her and said, "would you like to hold him"?, Fran said, "ohhhh yes, yes I would". Penelope handed him over and smiled as she watched as the smile on Frans face grew bigger and bigger.
As the team gathered around him Emily said, "ohhhhhhh PG you did a great job", Penelope laughed and said, "thanks EP buttttttt hotstuff here is where he gets his looks from". Sarah and Desi laughed and Desi said, "ohhhh I see you in him too, that's what makes him so adorable".
Derek said, "heyyyyyy are you saying that I'm ugly"?, Sarah said, "not at all baby brother", Penelope put her hand on Dereks and said, "they're playing with you handsome" causing everybody to laugh. It was only a matter of a couple of minutes before Reid said, "soooooo what's my new nephews name"?, Derek looked at Penelope as she said, "everybody I'd like for you to meet Hank Spencer Morgan".
Reids mouth fell open and Derek said, "Hank after my pops and Spencer after the best little brother a man could ever have". Reid hugged Derek and said, "I'm honored that you would name your child after me" and Penelope said, "we love you boy wonder".
Reid smiled and said, "and I love you both too and I promise that I'll do whatever it takes to keep Hank safe and happy" and the rest of the team nodded their heads in agreement. Derek sat down on the bed beside his tired wife and together they watched as Hank got to bond with the rest of their family.
