A/N: So I am making it that Dick left at age 16 and now is 17, Todd is 13 (still alive), and Drake… He isn't even in this… I don't know how the ages worked in the show anymore… I just made myself confused in the long term…

Meeting Nightwing Part I
It had been almost a year since he left, faking his death, almost six months since he'd been replaced, and now he was ready. Or at least he thought he was… Staring at his reflection he slowly slipped a domino mask over his face a familiar feeling over coming him. The 17 year old opened up a window and slipped out into the familiar, embracing night.

Batman sighed and looked at the photo him and Dick from a year ago. He would never admit it, but he missed him. Jason was down in the cave changing into his Robin uniform.
"Anything interesting tonight?" Robin asked curiously coming over.
"I got a tip that Joker and Harley Quinn are going to break in to the Bludhaven Bank. We need to get going," Batman said. Placing the photo on a desk he and Robin walked towards the Batmobile and drove off towards Bludhaven.

It was supposed to be simple, take out Joker and Harley and get them back to Gotham. But no, they brought Poison Ivy with them as well, apparently she and Harley got along just wonderfully.
Batman growled as he noticed Robin being tossed across the room by a plant. He wouldn't be able to get there in time to stop Robin from hitting the wall. Out of seemingly nowhere however a figure swinging on a grappling hook came and caught Robin mid-air. Ready to attack this new person he was surprised when the figure set his second protégé down and jumped into the battle. The figure was a young man with dark hair. He wore a black suit with a blue bird on the front and a domino mask.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Batman snapped.
"I could ask you the same question," the man said. "Watch out, Joker is about to toss laughing gas at us," at that he flipped away from were the gas landed pulling out two air filters placing one in his mouth and moving towards Robin with the other.
Batman watched almost stunned then returning back to the battle at hand. He and the figure fought together and Batman didn't seem to mind, which surprised him. The teamwork was effortless like this was natural. He watched the young man leap gracefully through the air helping take down the three Gotham villains who would make an average hero cry. This hero stood his ground and fought with grace he had seen once before.
The battle at its close Batman and the other one had managed to capture all three of them just as the police came in. The young man quickly left before the police could see him only letting them catch a glance at the new hero in town.
"Who was that?" the police chief asked.
"I'm about to find out," Batman answered walking over to the still unconscious Robin picking him up and moving towards the Batmobile.

"Bruce give it up, he doesn't want to be found," Jason said. "If you don't go get some sleep I'll get Alfred down here," he warned.
"I know him," Bruce growled typing away at the computer. It had been a week since the robbery and the rumors of a new hero in Bludhaven had appeared. People were claiming that a man dressed in black with a blue bird on his chest appeared and saved them from a simple mugging to robbery. One even claimed that he saw the man get shot but continued to take out the drug dealers anyways.
"That's it, I'm getting Alfred," Jason said. "Don't say I didn't warn you." Bruce ignored his young ward and continued on his path of finding this new hero.

Robin was with the team in the mountain. It had taken a while for them to get used to him since their previous Robin had died. But now they were all getting along. Dressed in street clothes with a pair of shades it was team bonding day, oh how that made Robin jump for joy. Unlike the last Robin, he was much more stoic and didn't laugh or play around as much. Not to say that he and Kid Flash didn't have their moments of pranking. Today only he, Wally, Artemis, Megan, Conner, Kaldur, Roy, Zatanna, and Garfield were there. Everyone else was off doing something else.
"So what movie do we want to watch?" Megan asked floating over to the T.V. room.
"What about a James Bond movie?" Wally asked. "It's been a year…" the mood suddenly darkened. Artemis cuffed her boyfriend on the head. "Hey! It was his favorite!" But before anything could be said the zeta beams went off.
Intruder the female voice rang though the air. The team suddenly alert moved towards the training room.
"Ah come on! So not feeling the aster!" a voice yelled. "You've got to be kidding me!" the team rushed in to see a young man. Robin recognized the man as the one that saved him in Bludhaven. The team was at the ready. Roy and Artemis had their bow and arrows out drawn at the ready. Conner and Wally were ready to fight. Zatanna looked ready to throw a spell at him, Megan a mental attack and Garfield had turned into a large tiger.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Kaldur asked his swords at the ready.
"Seriously?" the man was ignoring everything around him. Robin just looked on his utility belt at the ready. "I hacked the systems and…" he paused only to glare at the martin. "Stay out of my mind martin," he snapped. Megan looked surprised and backed down some. "I though Bats wouldn't change the system… Oh well, it's been a while… Fuck why did this have to be so damn hard?"
"Do we know you?" Megan asked quietly walking over to the man.
"Not really," the man said. "In a way maybe…"
"Your mind, feels, familiar," Megan said. At this the team slowly lowered their defenses except Roy and Robin.
"Don't ever lower your defenses, are you kidding me? What has Canary been teaching you idiots? Well Roy and number two over there seem to know something about not trusting strangers."
"But I know you," Megan insisted.
"No you really don't, right as for why I am here… I need a decoy in Bludhaven," the man said. "Figured you wouldn't mind doing it, seeing as you don't have a mission or anything. Right back to the job, there are three drug shipments going out of Bludhaven today, two are fakes. The police aren't really going to do anything except stop one of the fakes, so I need you guys to help me with the other two. I pretty much know which one is the real one," he said starting to pull up files on the holoscreens. So I can take care of that, I would like you guys to hit the other one though, just incase I am wrong. Scarecrow is in charge of the operation and thus you need to be careful."
"Why would we help you?" Conner asked.
"Oh, I thought you would want to make sure that this new fear drug that people are popping like crazy on the streets of Bludhaven doesn't make it to Gotham. Bludhaven was the test sight is the real deal."
"Who even are you?" Artemis finally yelled frustrated.
"You can call me… Nightwing," at that Nightwing dropped a flash drive and left through the zeta.

"What the hell was that?" Wally asked.

So as it was the team found themselves staking out a drug shipment. Three trucks had left and now the team was following one of them letting this Nightwing guy follow the other. Okay their curiosity got the better of them. So following the truck they waited. They had to see the actual contents of the truck before they could do anything and the thugs in charge didn't know anything according to Miss. Martian.
What did you think of that Nightwing? Kid Flash asked.
He was cute, Zatanna answered.
Mysterious! Beast Boy provided over the mental link.
We need to be careful about him, Aqualad said. We don't know who he is.
I agree with Aqualad, Robin said.
Me too, Artemis, Kid Flash and Red Arrow said together.
Although that being said he did save me from hitting a wall, Robin offered. Suddenly Robin's com unit went off. Confused for a moment he answered it.
"Hello?" he said.
"Bird boy, it's Nightwing, you can stop following that car. I caught the other one dropping off the drug shipment…" something was off about the new hero's voice.
"Nightwing you okay?" Robin asked.
"I'm fine… Scarecrow was there... Didn't see it coming…" Nightwing's voice dropped.
"Nightwing!" Robin called. Robin's mind went to the worst, a normal hero couldn't take on Scarecrow, sure he and Batman managed three baddies, but Batman was there. Guys, we need to find Nightwing!

Nightwing groaned as he limped towards a zeta beam transport. Old habits died hard, he felt bad dropping the call with Robin, but having a bullet in his side, and having likely inhaled fear gas, he needed to save his energy. Slowly he punched in his desired location in the phone booth and felt himself being beamed away.
