Disclaimer: Still don't own YJ because there isn't a season 3….
Hey guys! I am back for another chapter! I am participating in Nanowrimo this month and have entered my story in the Inkitt competition. It is titled "Never Get Attached" and I am using the same user name. If you would like to read some original work by me I would love it if you checked it out and voted for it! I would love you forever!
And I want to thank you all for continuing to read Meeting Robin! I know there are many other stories out there and for you to take time to read these little one shots is amazing! I never thought that it would become somewhat popular on the internet and it is all thanks to you guys for reading, reviewing, favoriting (sorry that's not an actual word) and following me!
Also I would like to thank anyone who suggested I use Two-Face or villains for future chapters. I'm sorry I don't have a list because I don't remember who all suggested Two-Face but thank you!
Meeting Two-Face
Two-Face flipped his coin and sneered at the outcome as he pointed his gun at one of his grunts. Today just didn't seem to favor his luck.
"Seems like you got off lucky today," he muttered putting his gun down. "Get out of my sight before I change my mind and try best out of three," he added. The man scurried away like the insect he was. Gotham's flipping his coin again he smiled, well his day just got slightly better. He then turned towards the man next to him.
"Sir?" the man asked uncertain.
"Looks like it's not your lucky day though," he raised his gun and squeezed the trigger.
Robin stood next to Batman tapping his foot impatiently. Batman and Gordon were talking about a string of murders revolving around drug trade. It wasn't that it wasn't interesting, because it was, but standing still for this long was just torture. Batman sent a glare down at Robin that caused him to stop the tapping.
"Thank you Commissioner for the information, Robin and I will look into it," at that the two disappeared into the shadows. Taking out their grappling hooks they swung to the next building over.
After some time the two arrived at the port and were on top of a warehouse. Batman looked down at his apprentice warily.
"Robin, be careful, this is Two-Face we are talking about. I don't want you here, but since you've already met with Joker… Be careful tonight. Follow my orders directly," he said.
"Yes sir," Robin answered back.
"And don't think I haven't forgotten about your foot tapping. I just don't have time to send you back to the cave," he added. Robin frowned. So he was only staying because time was of the essence. Fine, he'll prove to Batman that he could do anything.
"What's the plan?" the young sidekick asked.
"Simple enough. You take out the three guards and I'll go for Two-Face, I don't want you fighting him. We have to make sure the drugs are there though. And I cannot stress this enough, you have to be careful," Batman said sternly.
"Right!"
"Robin."
"Yes sir."
"Okay, follow my lead and lets go," at that Batman swung from the warehouse.
It was going perfectly. That was until there were extra men the Two-Face had hidden around the area. Currently the dynamic duo were tied and bound to chairs. Two-Face smiled widely at the sight of his captured prey.
"So lovely of you to join us Batman, and thank you for finally brining your second half. You know how much I love a pair," Two-Face said flipping his coin absently. "Heads you first, tail the bird, so fitting isn't it?"
"Such a lame joke," Robin muttered under his breath. Two-Face glared and flipped the coin. Looking at the coin his smile widened. His visible muscle tightened around his eyes.
"Oh boy, you first bird boy, let's go best out of three. Let's stick with tails, it's feeling lucky," he smiled. Robin shuddered at the smile. He couldn't show fear.
"Right, luck has to do with a fifty percent chance," Robin smirked. Batman continued to glare. The two were both working on filing through their bonds.
"Well it's tails again," Two-Face smiled. "So I am at one and you are at zero," at that he flipped the coin again, Batman made a visible struggle at the coin flipped. "Damn heads. Well I guess that this is the final flip… I really hope that this is the one," Tow-Face said getting close to Robin's face. "It has been a rough day, the coin seems to be flipping against me. I had one success, but it really wasn't enough. But this! This I have a chance to kill a pair!"
"Bats, what is it with this man and pairs? It's kinda creepy," Robin said trying to keep his calm. Batman didn't answer but only tried to quicken the filling of the robe. Two-Face ignored the bird and flipped the coin.
"Are you ready for this?" he asked his hand covering the coin. "Because I am!" at that he revealed the coin to Robin. "Tails! Today is now officially my lucky day! As chance is on my side!" with that Two-Face pulled his gun at Robin's head and cocked the gun. Pulling the trigger the bullet released. At that moment Batman pushed Robin aside, there was a crash and blood.
"Batman!" Robin cried. Two-Face started laughing.
"This is beautiful!" he yelled. At that moment Robin threw a bird-a-rang at Two-Face having worked through the bonds. The explosion caused a moment distraction for Robin to cut his feet free. He felt a slight strain in his left wrist, Batman ramming into him must have caused it to land funny. Pressing his emergency beacon for the Batmobile he engaged in fighting Two-Face, hoping Batman would be alright. Two-Face pointed his gun at Robin and started to fire. Moving quickly around the bullets Robin attempted to flip and fly trying not to get hit.
Batman felt his eyes open realizing his cowl was missing. Turning his head he saw Alfred standing in front of Dick who sat on a medical table. Trying to move he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. The two turned towards him at the movement.
"Hey!" Dick said excitedly. "You're awake!" he jumped off the table and bounded towards Batman.
"Master Dick, please calm down. Must I remind you that you didn't get off unscratched?" Bruce instantly jumped at that.
"Calm down Bruce, I was grazed. Two-Face got upset that he couldn't get a full hit. So I was able to take him down. Also got the GPD there as well to help with the extra guards. Two-Face is back in Arkham!"
"Please tell me he's okay," Bruce said looking at Alfred.
"The young Master is well enough. Nothing an accident with a tree can't explain, believable enough," the butler explained.
"Did you miss the part I took down Two-Face?" Dick asked. Bruce sighed and motioned for Dick to come closer. Dick jumped onto the bed and Bruce cupped his face.
"I am so proud of you," Bruce said. "I just worry alright?"
"And you don't think I was worried? You were passed out and bleeding!" Dick yelled. Bruce was taken aback. "I didn't know if you were going to live! Only to find out you'd be okay after Alfred said the bullet hit nothing vital and that you were lucky!"
"I'm okay," Bruce muttered pulling Dick into a one armed hug. "You're okay, we're both okay," he reassured as Dick cried into his chest. "I will always be here for you," he added. Dick nodded and relaxed into Bruce's embrace. After a few moments Bruce realized his ward was asleep. "Sleep well my little bird."
Two-Face sat in his cell flipping his coin. It was only a matter of time until he was released. Flipping his coin he looked down at it and smiled.
"I'm coming for you little bird, and next time I win."
