Meria dreaded going to sleep, she was scared. Such queer things happend in her dreams. "Can't we stay up a little longer?" she begged Rouge. The bat shook her head, "Its almost midnight! Why do you want to stay up so bad?" "I-I just don't want to go to sleep yet!" "Mmhm. Sure." Rouge said, rolling over on her side, "Good night." Meria got up to turn of the light. She walked slowly to put of the time when she would fall asleep. Meria flicked off the light and got under her covers. "Good night," she said to Rouge, but the bat was already snoring away. She could hear Mourice snoring in the next room. Soon Meria was lulled to sleep.
Her foot steps echoed after her as she ran down the hall. "Hello? Is someone there?!" her voice echoed back to her, there, there, there? The girls steps rang after her as she fled through the corridor. Her gaze was hazy, every thing was blurry. A figure stepped around the corner and she ran into him. He was black with red stripes. "It's okay," he said, "I won't hurt you." She looked up at him, "Who are you?" "Shadow," he said, and every thing faded black.
