CHP 14: Understanding Ron

*At Kim's place*

"So, I guess we are revisiting the conversation we had before due to my actions at lunch today, correct?" Ron questions shyly now that he, along with Kim and Tara settle in Kim's room to address his outburst and assault on Brick.

Kim nods her head with a serious expression. "Sadly, yes. It would be nice to know what was going on in your head since we did agree to provide support for you concerning your abilities." As his best friend, Kim is trying to determine if Ron's monkey power will make him useful on mission or liability for certain reasons.

Tara, on the other hand, wants to do anything she can to help her boyfriend feel better and embrace his powers to use them for good. "The good thing is we already are aware of your badical monkey powers. Now that we have seen it in action, we need to start finding ways to help you control it."

Kim looks over at Tara for a second in amazement, still over how well she's handling Ron's situation before turning back to Ron. "With that said, Ron, can you talk to us about the moment your powers went off."

Ron sighs and tries his best to explain his thought process of the time at lunch. "I do recall hearing those voices in my head telling me to let loose and attack Brick, but I was more than ready to take the beatdown as I normally would, so I tried to shut my head up. The next thing I know, I saw Brick accidentally knock Tara down, and like a movie scene, everything slows down with the voices screaming louder about how he hurt Tara and to make Brick pay for what he did. That's when I exploded and almost took out Brick. Thankfully Tara stopped me, but of course, KP I know you would have tried if she wasn't there."

Ron starts to take deep breaths, not wanting to think about the idea of Kim having to use force to stop him in that state. Thankfully for him, Tara comforts him by rubbing his hand, leaning her head on his shoulder, giving him the strength to continue. "The main thing I can say is that I didn't summon my mystical monkey powers at will. Instead, I think it came on its own due to my anger at that time.

Kim absorbs all of what Ron has said while Tara leans up to talk to her man. "Remember when I said if you bottle your emotions up, it will eventually get to where you can't contain it? That's what ended up happening today."

Ron instantly starts to feel guilty, but Tara kisses him on the cheek to stop him. "Ronnie, I don't mean that in a way that you are thinking. I want you to understand why Kim and I want to help you get through this so that maybe you can summon your abilities at will rather than when you only in a negative state of mind."

Kim agrees with Tara's statement for what she gathers, Ron isn't a threat to anyone, and even so, as her best friend, she would do anything she can to help him overcome his darkness. "Tara is right. While your unique gift can be useful, it can be dangerous if not trained on so soon we are going to start implementing training sessions throughout the week."

Ron pouts and whines, asking, "Why does that sound like extra homework in your language, KP?" making the girls giggle at him.

At that moment, Tara decides to bring up a question that she has been considering ever since Ron told her about his monkey powers. "Can I make a suggestion Kim?"

"Sure Tara, what are you thinking?" Kim says with a curious tone.

"Well, I know we talk about being there for Ron in different areas with you more so on missions, but I have thought that maybe I could be part of those training sessions for myself. Not just spectating but actual physical training." Tara explains, being as serious as possible.

Both Ron and Kim couldn't believe that Tara is suggesting learning how to fight. "Tara, what brought this on?" Kim asks with concern.

"Honestly, I was already thinking of doing self-defense classes after the whole Camp 'name that we won't repeat' situation to protect myself. Now that Ronnie and I are together, potentially the bad guys you both deal with, especially Ronnie's', may try to use me as leverage. Or an accident like lunch occurs, and Ron loses control due to his concern for me. I don't want to be a typical damsel in distress; I want to be able to stand by my man in any way, shape, or form. I know being on missions with you two will take a while, but this is what I want to do." Tara states with the type of boldness most never have seen before from the cheerleader.

Ron's heart beats with happiness overhearing Tara's strong words, something he isn't used to hearing due to his school status, making him not any girl's choice to date. Kim's reaction is more of a surprise one for up to this point. Only Ron has chosen to do missions with her, not that she never considers adding more members, but she never did think any of the students would want to risk their lives or schedule to do so.

She then turns to Ron and sees a look of approval before turning back to Tara to answer. "The missions we do are dangerous, Tara. If you are ever to come along and do so, you need to be better trained and equip to defend yourself. So, what we can do is have you part of the training and have you on the reserve side of the team in case we ever do missions that might trigger Ron until you are fully ready to be an official member."

Tara blinks with confusion, and with an innocent yet hopeful tone, she asks, "You really mean it?"

"Only if you are serious about it." Kim extends her hand out to show that the offer is legit.

The old Tara would squeal out loud with excitement; well, she's doing that in her head instead. Current Tara calmly shakes Kim's hand and answers excitedly, "then count me in!"

However, Ron doesn't care about his child-like behavior, for he jumps up and shouts, "Boo-Ya!" with Rufus cheering for Tara.

Kim shakes her head in amusement at her best friend's attics. "We will set up afternoon training sessions soon since we still have duties on the cheer team so that we won't burn ourselves out. After all, we are still in high school."

"We also have extra homework," Ron adds, thinking about Mr. Barkin harassing him with assignments to do.

"That's more on you with the extra part." Kim retorts with a playful glare.

Ron gives the statement a quick thought before saying, "Yeah, you right." getting a laugh out of the girls.

Tara checks outside, noticing it's starting to get late in the day. "I guess I better get home before it gets dark."

"Mind if I escort you milady?" Ron asks, smoothly leaning towards Tara.

"Always." Tara looks directly into his eyes, moving closer until Kim stops them with a cough to get the couple's attention.

"Alright, you love birds take it outside. Be safe out there." Kim gives Ron the take care of her look.

"No problem Kp. Also, thanks for doing all this. It means a lot, and I don't know how many times I can say that." Ron gives a friendly hug to Kim.

She returns the friendly hug stating, "No big Ron. We have been friends forever; we always have each other back."

*Meanwhile at a secret lair*

Bonnie begins to wake up with a groan from her sudden slumber to see herself in what looks like a cave. Before she can ask where she is, the voice from earlier gets her attention. "Finally you are awake. Now we can plan our revenge together."

As Bonnie's vision clears up, the figure approaching becomes noticeable, leading to a horrible realization of who this was. "You! That freak that tormented us at Camp Wannabe. How did you escape again?"

Gill, in his monster state, snarls at the name-calling. "It's GILL! And yes, I am that freak that set you all up. As to how I got free, that so-called scientist that picked me up needs to hire better drivers; otherwise, accidents can happen." He glances over a tube that contains Dr. Lurkin before focusing back on the cheerleader. "Funny you speak of torment, for when it comes to the squeeb, we both have a common enemy."

Bonnie tries to get herself free but to no prevail. "I made hate Stoppable, but that doesn't mean you can compare us."

"Really, as I seem to recall, you sure had a lot of negative things to say about him. Like calling him loser and ditcher for example." Gill points out from what he remembers from the last two attempts to get revenge on Ron because this cheerleader was very vocal in her opinions concerning the squeeb.

"Stoppable is a loser, especially how he has made my life a nightmare recently, but I have to admit he did save us from you," Bonnie argues, only to flinch with Gill growls with anger.

"Ronnie got lucky during our first encounter, and yes he beat me at my own game the last time. However, this third time will be the final time because now I have someone who despises him as much as I do to help me achieve my goal." Gill smiles wickedly.

"Why should I help you with anything when you kidnapped me and almost turned me into an ugly creature?" Bonnie continues to put on a brave face even though she's scared for her life right now, almost wishing that the loser and Kim would save her now.

"Because you know deep down, you want Stoppable to pay for whatever he has done to you, and if you don't, that becoming a freak idea will come to life. How does that sound?" Gill offers in a way that met no would not be an acceptable answer.

Bonne doesn't know what to do. The queen b side of her would want to take this opportunity without any hesitation due to Ron stealing her best friend while also teaching Tara a lesson. Yet, the large part of her doesn't want to snoop to Gills's level of revenge and rather be home away from this nightmare. Out of nowhere, the scream of Dr. Lurkin gains her attention as he mutates into a creature as she saw Gill do before terrifying her even more. She nods to Gill to give her services, earning an evil smirk from him with no choice. "Very good answer. Now tell me, cheerleader. What did my old pal Ronnie do to you that makes you hate him?"

*Back with Ron and Tara*

"Ronnie, how do you truly feel about my decision concerning the team? I know I expressed my reason, but I still want to be sure that you are okay with it." Tara sincerely asks Ron as the two, holding hands, walk closer to her house.

Ron smiles with gratitude that Tara always considers his feelings. "I appreciate that you care about my feelings Tara, but honestly, I have no problem with it. As a matter of fact, I think it's badical that my girlfriend wants to protect me as I would protect her. I think I'm more surprised that Kim is okay with it. We never had a conversation about adding more people on the team, so I was somewhat nervous about how she would feel."

"A relationship works better when the boy and girl can compromise on subjects like this, but I'm glad you and Kim are accepting the idea. It helps with the promise I made to stand beside you." Tara says while they arrive at her destination.

Ron turns to face her and, with one look, wonders how he got so lucky to have her as his girlfriend. "Tara I..."

"Yes Ronnie?" Tara asks in a way that causes Ron's heart to skip a couple of beats.

"I um, you mean a lot to me, and I want you to know how grateful I am to have you as my girlfriend." Ron mentally kicks himself, for there was more that he wanted to say but was scare that now isn't the time to share those feeling with her.

"Aww, you mean a lot to me too, and I'm happy that I got over my fear of asking you out because now I'm the luckiest girl in the world." Tara proceeds to wrap her arms around his neck.

Ron starts to feel his self-warm up fast. "Really?"

To answer the question, Tara smashes her lips onto his starting a passionate kiss between the two, where Tara feels Ron hands slide down her waist as he gets into the kiss more. Tara can sense Ron's shyness still coming to play when it comes to these types of moments, so she decides to initiate the next base by taking his hand to place them on her butt gently. Ron's mmp side of his mind commands him to take things further, but the last thing Ron wants is for that side to have its way and go too far despite how nice Tara's behind feels in his hand.

"Goodnight, my Mad Dog." Tara, in her most seductive voice, says as the two break apart.

"Nighttt Tara." Ron responds, still in a daze watching her enter the house. Walking home with a pep in his step, Ron instantly plans on taking a cold shower when he gets home due to his raging hormones.

Author's note: Finally got another update out, and it has been too long. Yes, for those who guess that Gill is the person who took Bonnie, got it correct. I felt it would be easier for the plot to have Gill get one last chance at payback against Ron. I was debating how Bonnie would play into the revenge for she would fully go along with Gill or not, but the RonBon part of me got the best of me, so I found the direction I wanted with Bonnie's character. Also, with Tara, I want to have her work her way towards defending herself before actively helping on Team Possible, but she will soon have her moment.

How do you guys think I'm writing Kim and Ron friendship in this story? I know the common thing would be to have Kim act evil or character bash her, but I try to write differently when it comes to her not being the love pairing for Ron.
