"Hey." Cyrus said simply. He sat beside Giovanni, sliding his hand softly onto his. "You wanted to talk?"
"Yeah." Giovanni replied softly, leaning onto Cyrus' shoulder, messing around with something in his other pocket.
"Are you breaking up with me?" Cyrus questioned. Despite his emotionless facade, he showed a bit of fear and worry in his face.
"No." Giovanni assured, moving to kiss Cyrus' neck. "Quite the opposite, actually."
Cyrus furrowed his brows questioningly, confused by the odd wording. What did he mean by that? He looked at Giovanni, confused.
"Cy." Giovanni pulled out a box and placed it in the hand of Cyrus' he was holding, and let go, beckoning for him to open it. Cyrus opened it, and there sat a gorgeous gold ring with constellations engraved into it. "Marry me."
"Really?" Cyrus questioned, his face still confused. He took the ring out of the box and examined it. Giovanni's face fell. His posture straightened.
"Huh?" Giovanni questioned. Cyrus looked between the ring and Giovanni, sighing.
"These things are a lot more formal in Sinnoh." Cyrus explained, placing the ring back into the box. He closed it and held it in one closed hand for a moment. "But.."
Giovanni waited for what seemed like forever until Cyrus handed him back the box. Giovanni was crestfallen. He slouched, and his entire demeanor changed.
"Lets go." Cyrus said, grabbing Giovanni's hand.
"What?" Giovanni asked. "Where?"
"Get married." Cyrus shrugged. Giovanni lit up like a streetlamp.
"What?" Giovanni held back tears yet again. He looked down at the box.
"I don't much care for material possessions or titles, you know." Cyrus elaborated, tugging Giovanni to his feet. "But if it helps you see our relationship the way I do, then let's get married."
"Cyrus.. you ass.." Giovanni teared up, choking on a laugh and a sob at the same time, wrapping his arms around Cyrus' torso and burrowing his face in the crook of his neck. "I thought you were going to say no.."
"Never." Cyrus responded, suddenly, and firmly. "I care for you too much."
"Put on the ring, idiot." Giovanni mumbled, pulling away and handing Cyrus the box.
"I do not want you to buy me things." Cyrus argued, trying to hand it back.
"Cyrus, this is very important to me." Giovanni pleaded. "Please wear the ring. I want you to remember me when you look at it."
Cyrus hesitated for a moment, before sighing and taking the ring out of the box and slipping it onto his ring finger. It was a beautiful ring, and it fit well. He wondered how Giovanni got his ring size..
"I love you." Giovanni embraced him again. Cyrus nuzzled the top of Giovanni's head.
"I care for you as well." Cyrus smiled as slightly as humanly possible. "Please never leave."
"I won't." Giovanni squeezed the other man. "Let's have a nice wedding."
"Okay." Cyrus rolled his eyes, resigning to Giovanni's ideas.
"Okay."
