Just to be clear: THIS CHAPTER STARTS TALKING ABOUT VIOLENT THEMES!

Now, let's get back to the story!

Chapter 4: Fights and pre-story

Konohagakure no Sato

The rest of the Rookies could just stare at the commotion. No had seen Neji that angry over the treatment of someone else. Even though they didn't have a clue of what was going on, they felt a large amount of disappointment towards Sasuke. They were even more shocked that not only did the adults know the reason behind Neji's anger, but even the Konohamaru Corps knew it.

"Stop this." Commanded Tsunade.

Everyone moved back to their previously occupied places. Neji looked like he was controlling his temper and Sasuke looked absolutely guilt-ridden. Most of the adults liked like they were battling their emotions.

Sasuke tried to compose himself and then managed to turn to Neji and ask just one thing, "How?". He sounded like he was in absolute pain. But all who knew the truth knew that it wasn't even close to what they actually wanted him to suffer.

"I was made Iruka's Jōnin guard during Pein's attack. So I was given a brief idea. I just put the pieces of the puzzle together", answered Neji even though he wanted to do a lot more than answer the stupid Uchiha's ignorant questions. Sasuke just nodded and then turned to stare at the wooden flooring. Then everything descended to an eerie silence.

A look from afar told that Shikamaru had caught on to what might be going on. But he let the whole thing play. A few minutes after silence descended, he finally spoke up, bringing people out of their thoughts. "If the argument and secret talk is over, could someone bring the rest of us up to date? Not all of us have been provided with the whole information, from what I can see."

The other rookies who were also feeling left out silently agreed with Shikamaru. They all already knew that what they hear next might change their lives forever. But all of them wanted to be there for their dear friend. So they waited patiently for one of the others to provide them with answers.

After a few minutes and a deep breath, Tsunade spoke once again. "Shikamaru, I will answer your questions. I would like those who know to remain silent so that we have everyone on the same page before we continue." She waited until she received some kind of response from all those people before continuing.

"To answer your question Shino, Naruto had to go through a lot. She even hid the severity from the rest of us including the Third. She tried to hide what-ever she could. The only reason sensei and the rest of us found out so much about her is because the ANBU were assigned to her protection detail. At least until she was a Genin. Then we had Kakashi just watch over her."

"But why would she want to hide these things from everyone?", questioned Tenten.

"You have to realise…. Naruto was forced to live on her own since the age of three. The council forcibly forbade those who knew of her heritage from even getting close to her. Even Sandaima-sama's hands were tied. Koharu, Homura and Danzo were pushing Naruto to be alone and given to Danzo to be turned into a weapon. The only thing Sandaime-sama was able to do was to give her a chance to live independently. All our hands were tied", replied Kakashi. "It was just our luck that those three didn't realise that Naruto was a girl. Not until a long time later. Sandaime-sama had hidden it from everyone outside of the ones she completely trusted Minato sensei's daughter with."

"Kakashi sensei, what actually happened to Naruto?", Sakura asked quietly her voice conveying her fears.

"Something no one wishes for even on their worst enemies. Since the young age of three, she was kicked out of most of the shops and restaurants. All the items she was able to buy were always either overpriced or not even in a good state. Even the food items were the ones that were about to be thrown or the ones she was able to scrape out of the trash cans. Even the ANBU who were sent to watch over Naruto wasn't allowed to go near her. The only thing that sensei and the rest were able to do was add in extra cash into her monthly grants. Enough to not make enough to notice and also enough for her to sustain a living since most of us sent her a decent amount. Jiraya and I were actually forbidden from even entering this village since they knew that we would have taken her away from this hell-hole if we ever saw her in that state. We had that right as her Godparents." Said Tsunade.

The Rookies held their breath as the Hokage continued her story.

"Once the villagers realised that Naruto was left to be alone without any protection, they took advantage of their freedom and started to beat her. Any kind of physical abuse that could inflict on a three-year-old. From slaps, kicks, beatings to even knife stab. None of the ANBU were able to interfere with the fear that she would be sent directly to Danzo and no one wanted that." Tsunade continued. "The only thing the ANBU did was once she lost consciousness, they would carry her to her apartment and treat her major wounds"

By this time, most of the adults and those had actually seen this happen were clutching their hand so tight that their knuckles had turned white and they were all ready to punch something. A growl could be heard from Kiba and Akamaru. But no one dared to interfere as they wanted the whole truth out.

"Naruto, wasn't exactly the girl you all knew. I mean, she still was that overly positive, strong and entertaining girl as always, but she was never dumb. She was too smart for her own good. She knew and understood what was going on and tried to hide her pain and allowed the villagers to mistreat her. Even the villagers never took it too far unless it was on the Kyūbi festival day. Those days were by far the worst. But all her ANBU detail also prevented from anything too severe from occurring." There was a short pause before Tsunade continued. She knew that it was time to tell them the incident that changed many lives.

"Then all this changed. Due to one incident. She had been protected and also had protected herself till that day. She was seven. But that single day changed most of our lives. Especially hers. The day that she lost everything of her's. The day she was raped…"
