Hey everyone!

Welcome back to one and all!

I know quite a few of you are upset/angry with what happened in the previous chapter. I know Naruto is like too young to be pregnant but I actually found the cruel reality of this world that even the youngest person to become a mother was actually around this age. I just used it for the plot. I don't mean to support any of this and I'd never wish this on any other female.

Coming back to the story, the guessing game has begun along with the actual background story. Hope I can keep you all on your toes.

Now, before I forget, you already know this. It's the disclaimer. I'm don't any of the characters, they belong to Masashi Kishimoto; just this single plot going on is from my imagination.

Now, let's get back to the story!

Chapter 6: The Prologue to the Backstory

Konohakure no Sato

Another round of sharp breaths and gasps were heard from all the Rookie - 11, this time, Neji and even Hanabi included. No one had expected this to be the answer in their wildest dreams. They all knew that neither of Naruto's parents was Uchiha's descendants. So most of them were confused about the possibility. But the two geniuses in the group were finally connecting all the pieces of the puzzle.

Sasuke, stood up from his position, still holding Iruka's hand for comfort looked up at his Chūnin exam friends with bloodshot eyes. He had accepted the fact that they would mostly never extended that friendship towards him again. Especially not after he learned about his shattered promise and them finally learning the extent of intricacy in the web of lies and hidden truths. He still knew that his sister would want them to know as she considered them her precious people. So he decided to tell them the truth about her.

He held on to Iruka's hand for comfort and took in a deep breath before he opened up his deepest secrets.

"The biggest shock of my life came exactly a week after the massacre of my clan…." he started.

~~Flashback~~

It was the day that Sasuke had returned to the academy after the Uchiha massacre, exactly a week after. Till that day Sasuke didn't even want to get up and go to the academy; every moment, his mind would replay what he had seen that night. But he knew that he would have to return back to the academy and get stronger to take revenge on his excuse-of-a-brother, Itachi Uchiha.

The day had started off as normal as it could get. It was a beautiful day with the sky a light shade of bright blue, the birds chirping, the leaves had fallen over the streets showing the beauty of autumn in Konoha and the early November winds started to pick up.

The young, last remaining Uchiha had finally forced himself to attend the academy. His day in the academy started off as usual with the fangirls following and he, ignoring one and all. The only exception being the silent whispers as he entered the academy in the morning. But even that was silenced out by the teachers. But the major drama for the day was pushed into the later part of the academy day.

During the lunch break, after most of the students had gone out of the classroom, a few students that remained inside started to speak about the massacre. Sasuke tried to ignore them and just forget what had happened and have his lunch for the day.

Suddenly, a loud, choking gasp broke these whispers. Immediately, Sasuke turned to look at who it was. He saw a streak of bright blonde hair. The dead-last of the class, Naruto Uzumaki looked like all the blood had been drained out of him. Within the next second, he turned and dashed out of the classroom. The mischief-maker of the class didn't return for the rest of the day but no one, as usual, seemed to even care. They were all glad that the class went on peacefully without any disturbance. Mizuki taught them how to use different weapons to a ninja's advantage during different combat situations.

The rest of the classes after lunch passed seemed to pass by without an incident. But for some reason, for the first time, Sasuke couldn't get rid of Naruto's look right after he heard the whispers. He unsuccessfully tried to shove the thoughts in and finish the academic day. After they were allowed to leave for the day, Sasuke remained deep in thought about the shocking blonde. So much that out of habit, he headed back towards the Uchiha estates.

He didn't realise where he was headed until he was crossing the bridge that separated the Uchiha estates from the rest of the village. He heard a loud cry from somewhere. On instinct, he searched for the source in the direction of the sound. It indicated that there was someone below the bridge. From his previous experience of playing around this area during his childhood, Sasuke remembered a small hole in the last pillar of the bridge near the estate-side of the bridge. Out of sheer curiosity, he ran towards the sound of the cries.

When he reached the hole, even with the darkness inside the hole, he was able to see the indistinguishable bright blond hair of his classmate, Naruto. Before he even processed this information, his instincts kicked in and he proceeded to stand in front of him and placed my hand on the back of the curled up, crying blonde, awkwardly trying to comfort the guy. It looked like out of instinct, the crying figure flinched and tried to get away but once he got a look of who it was, he immediately threw himself at the Uchiha and started to cry into his chest.

This seemed to have crashed the duck-butt's mind. He didn't know why but his instincts told him to comfort his classmate and so that's what he did. They stayed in that position for what seemed like hours. During this time, even the Uchiha felt his walls break and he, himself, let out a good amount of tears. Sasuke's mind dwelled on some old, blurry memories from early in his childhood. He couldn't place a single one to figure out what was happening or when. But they seemed to have bought out his pain and wounds that had been forced into a room with unbreakable walls. They both held each other and let out their pain, their sorrows for as long as their body could produce those tears.

It was finally time for sunset. The golden-orange colours had illuminated the sky and the purple hues threatened to take over. The pair under the bridge finally seemed to have exhausted their tears. Both looked exhausted but the young Uchiha knew that if he let the other kid go, the blond might never open up. His curiosity peaked and from some unknown place in his mind, his protective instinct took over and he pulled the blond towards his apartment as they couldn't enter the Uchiha estate as it was still being used for investigation. Even Naruto seemed to not want to protest. Instead, he desperately tried to hold on to the black hair kid for his dear life.

They entered the apartment in absolute silence. The Teme let the Dobe sit in the dining area while he prepared some of the canned food for dinner. They both had the cans of Yakitori (grilled chicken) and leftover miso soup. The tension between the two was rising as both knew that they would have to address the situation soon.

Right after cleaning up post-dinner, they both awkwardly headed towards the dining table area. Both knew it was time to talk.

~~Flashback End~~

"What I didn't know when we started the conversation was that it would change both of our lives forever". Sasuke stated and paused for a few minutes to bring his thoughts together and remain composited.

Yup. Another chapter is done.

Hmmm... What do you all think is the backstory? I would love to hear your guesses and theories.

Also, I did mention even in the previous chapter that it was an OOC Sasuke. So, in my story, he is emotional and has reasons for it. These next few chapters especially will tell you the backstory and give you a clear idea. Do stick on so that you get to know the whole story.

As always, read and review! Do let me know how you find this chapter and story!

That's it for now. See you in the next chapter.
