Erin smiled as she watched Spencer pull out some snacks and a few bottles of water, setting them out on the table between them. "We'll only be on the train for four hours, dear. Do we really need all that sugar?"

"Yes. I did a little research on this particular train line, and there is a high probability that our journey will be delayed, and it could be as long as two hours. I just thought that it would be better to be prepared. And it's better that you find out now that I have a sweet tooth. Though given how much I've been kissing you, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise."

She blushed as she looked down at the table and grabbed the bottle of water closest to her, needing something to do with her hands until she had found a way to reply to him. "Yes, well, I do like it when you're tasting me."

He choked on his sip of water, giving her a heated look, which she knew would result in a very vigorous night for them. "Do you like what you taste, Erin?"

Erin coughed a little as a coupled walked past them, and then she was sliding her foot up and down his leg, certain that they could not be seen. The look on his face told her that she was having her desired effect, and she smirked as she reclined back against her seat, watching them pull out of the train station. She was just about to say something to him when her phone rang, and she let out a frustrated little sigh as she pulled the device out of her purse and looked at the display. "I'll answer that question tonight, but for now, I need to talk to Penelope."

He nodded as he settled into his seat, picking up her camera from the table and taking a few pictures of what they were travelling past, along with taking a few of her. Rolling her eyes a little, she turned her attention to the conversation she was about to have. "Hello?"

"Erin! Are you really going to allow Blake to shoehorn into your little side trip with Reid?"

She chuckled as she nodded. "I am. She wants to try and make things right between us, and I would really love to go home with that stumbling block removed. There was a time when we were extremely close, after all, and if we can head home with a tiny bit of that closeness intact, I'll consider this a blessed trip indeed. And she won't be with us for the rest of the time we're away. Spencer and I are spending two nights in Fez, and just one in Marrakech. And I am looking forward to being back with the group, and seeing what you've all been up to without us."

"I'll have Rossi arrange it so that we have a large meal together when you three return."

"David's not coming with her?"

"No, I overheard them talking this morning at breakfast, and he doesn't really understand why she's heading out to you two, either. It's really sort of sweet how he wants to nourish the start of this relationship between the two of you, Erin. I just don't relish what you're going to have to do once we get home, since I know you'll have to talk to the Director about Derek and me, along with Spencer and yourself. Oh! I hope you don't mind, but Hotch has been sleeping in your room while you've been travelling with Reid."

"I assumed that he and Agent Jareau…"

"No, she is still in love with Will, and determined to make things work. They're just really good friends who also happened to be ships passing in the night. Emily was the one who pushed her towards Will, since it looked like Hotch would never be able to stop loving Haley, even though they did divorce, and then Jayje ended up pregnant, and life just sometimes doesn't work out the way we want it to. That's why I'm glad that you have Reid, honestly. I think the two of you will be good for each other. Now, I have to run, Derek and I have a tour lined up, and it's about to leave soon. I'll check in with you later on, okay? Enjoy the train to Fez!"

Before Erin could say goodbye, Penelope had hung up, and she chuckled a little as she set the phone onto the table and turned her attention back to Spencer. "I don't know if I'll be able to sleep with you and keep a straight face when we return to Tangier."

"Oh?" he asked as he set the camera down, leaning forward with a hand outstretched towards her. Taking the hint, she clasped it tightly as she nodded. "Why is that?"

"It seems that Aaron has decided to move into our room while we travel around Morocco."

Spencer rubbed his thumb along the back of her hand as he nodded. "That makes sense. It's hard to be in a confined space with the one who got away, so to speak. And while I know that JJ loves Will now, there was a time when I thought it wasn't going to work out between them." She furrowed her brow in confusion. "When we were in New York for that weird case, and Hotch was almost blown up by the car bomb, Will decided that it was a great idea to come there and announce JJ's pregnancy to us in one of the most ham-fisted displays of masculine ownership I've ever seen. Frankly, I was surprised that she decided to stay with him, even if he was the father of her child. I mean, we would have all helped her raise Henry, if it had come down to that."

"Sometimes we settle for what we think we deserve when it seems like we'll never get what we truly want. God knows that's what happened to me." The grip on her hand almost became painful, and she hissed a little under her breath as she looked up at him. "I settled for Alan. There was another person that I cared for, deeply, but my family has always been well connected, which meant that there were certain things that were frowned upon. But now, I have found you, and all that doesn't seem to matter quite as much."

He nodded before bringing her hand to his lips, kissing it softly before speaking once more. "Maybe you were supposed to settle for Alan because the other person you thought yourself in love with wasn't the right one for you. Not that I'm going to be that presumptuous and assume that I am, okay? I just, I want you to know that sometimes fate pushes us in other directions until we get to the place we're supposed to be in life. Right now, I'm supposed to be with you, and I am going to relish whatever time we have together."

The smile on Erin's face widened as she nodded. "I feel the same way." Turning her head to look out the window, she didn't let go of his hand, instead, firming up her grip as the scenery passed by. There was something about the movement of the train that lulled her into a peaceful frame of mind, and she wondered what it would be like to ride some other train lines around the world. "When we get home, if we find that we want to make this last, I want to use some of my leave and travel by train around the US. There is something thoroughly romantic about this mode of transportation."

"I feel the same way," he replied, and she glanced quickly at him, giving him a shy smile before turning her attention back out the window so that she wouldn't miss a thing.
