Annabeth curled her pale legs beneath her body, sinking to the ground. Her dark, grey eyes darting around the messy room. The cabin was silent. A soft light glowed near the fountain in the corner, making the cabin look ghostly at midnight. Annabeth hadn't showered in days, much less eaten properly. Her blood streaked camp shirt hung off her thin figure. Her hair fell in limp curls down her back. Dirt smeared on her face. Her cold lips pressed together in an effort to not let tears stream down her face. The gem on her finger shone in the dim light.

Annabeth shrieked and tumbled into the freezing water. She rose, her eyes murderous. Her wet shirt sticking to her body and damp curls matted against her skull. Percy thought she was truly astonishing. He laughed and soon Annabeth herself grinned. The couple got into a full blown water fight. Percy, of course, had a huge advantage being the son of Poseidon. Soon, Percy cornered Annabeth, smirking. Annabeth laughed and pressed her lips to his. Percy's hands went limp as he leaned into her, all sane thoughts escaping into the wind. They kissed, unaware of the click of a camera nearby.

She stared, unable to stop the tears that blurred her vision and splattered on the picture of the two of them. Her heart ached and yearned for him. A scream tore at her throat as she fell into a fit of coughs, crashing down on the wooden floor. Her hand involuntarily slipped the gem off her hand and curled into her cold palm. She pressed the ring into her hand as her shoulders shook, unable to stop whimpering. She let her guard down. Crumpling in a ball. Vulnerable.

"Good night." Her voice was a whisper as she smiled softly.

Percy's face lit up as he slowly wrapped his strong arms around her waist and crashed his lips into hers.

"I love you," he murmured into her lips and slipped a band on her finger.

Annabeth smiled and opened her eyes, staring into his gorgeous green eyes. "Love you, too"

Percy fingered the ring and whispered a 'See you in the morning' before disappearing into the night.

He wasn't there the next day.

Annabeth's heart shuddered in her chest, threatening to break. Memories of Percy and her echoing through her mind. The way his eyes lit up when he was happy. How he ran his hand through his hair when he was stressed and how he rambled when he was nervous. His laughter resounded through her head. She could almost feel his soft, warm fingers ghosting over her skin. Haunting her. Taunting her. His lips grazed her's.

For years all Annabeth ever wanted was something permanent in her life. Someone she knew would never leave her. But she would've never thought that someone would grow so close to her. She never would've imagined that just being without him, she would've been driven over the edge of her sanity. Never. Deep down she knew she should have never grown close. After all whenever she does. They leave.

Every. Single. Time.

The girl sat, alone. In the darkness. Grasping onto the memories. His salty aroma drifting around the silent cabin. The whole world seemed to stop. The limp girl sobbed, curling into his sheets. Her spirit is growing weaker. Her tears staining his pillow. The wind blowing softly outside. She shuddered, crying out for the boy she fell in love with long ago. Her walls crumbled down.

"Come back, Percy." Her voice was barely audible, cracking with grief.

"I miss you"
