Steps into Confrontations
As the sun was setting upon Tokyo-3, a red-caped figure stood in the shadows atop a small building, across from a much larger, familiar apartment complex with his cape flowing without the wind.
Shinji, with a clear amount of uncertainty in his eyes, looked at the complex. This place served as home for him once upon a time.
'But was it really?' a voice asked in his head.
Shinji merely hummed in response.
'Was it really a home?' the voice asked again. 'Were you safe? Were you loved?'
Shinji closed his eyes, trying to block out the voice.
'You know the truth, host. It never was a home. That woman never made it home for you. It was a cage with shackles. You were shackled into a life of servitude. Their servant, that woman's tool for-'
"Shut up!" Shinji growled, his eyes glowing, his voice taking on a demonic edge.
SMASH!
In an outburst of anger, he punched the corner wall on a doorway, nearly bringing it down. Shinji calmed down as he stared at the apartment, wondering why he was here.
Then he remembered; he wanted to retrieve something that belonged to him. An item Shinji had treasured more than anything. The one thing that gave him some measure of comfort.
With that thought in mind, Shinji teleported instantaneously to the apartment. In a hot second, Shinji found himself in front of a door. As before, at Rei's apartment, Shinji willed himself to become invisible. Slowly but surely, the Hellspawn opened the door using his cloak as a lockpick and wasn't surprised to find any shoes at the door. The room was empty and dirty, no doubt Misato or Asuka, as he was already dead, still wouldn't clean, which was obvious, and Pen-Pen was still in his box.
"'Shinji's Lovely Suite', so Misato still kept it. As a memorial? Or a memento?" Shinji asked aloud, looking at the small sign.
Squeak.
"Hm…"
Pen-Pen's small box opened up, and the penguin waddled to the refrigerator. The penguin opened the door to grab a drink. After he got one of Misato's beers, he shut the door with his wing, and from its peripheral vision, Pen-Pen saw a flash of red in the dark corner.
At first, he thought it was just his lazy owner, but his animal senses were going haywire. They were telling him something…unnatural was there. The warm-water penguin inched closer and closer. He stopped short upon seeing more flashes of red moving around in the shadows. As night fell, a pair of glowing, green eyes appeared from the darkness, further frighting the warm-water penguin.
"BOO."
"RAWK!" he squawked loudly.
The green-eyed figure steps forth almost menacingly, scaring the penguin who quickly retreated back into his box, slamming it shut.
"I never liked that stupid penguin," Shinji whispered.
Opening the door, he found that everything of his was untouched. His bed, his dresser, and whatever limited items he had.
"Welcome home, Shinji, nice to see you again," he muttered softly to himself in a somber tone.
Seeing his prized SDAT still on his dresser, Shinji fell back into his old habit, he took off his mask and put the earbuds in his ears, and began to listen to the music he had on the tape. For the first time in a while, he started to feel a sense of safety from the cold and harsh world that he knows.
"I almost feel like myself again," he murmured, leaning his head back against the wall.
Shinji's brief period of peace was broken by the sound of the door opening and voices entering the place.
"…It's a better alternative than having instant food every day, Asuka," said Misato coming in.
Shinji gave a short gasp as he shot up from his spot.
"I'd rather take instant food over your bad cooking, Misato. Besides, Kaji tells me you weren't the best student in college," said Asuka in a matter-of-fact tone
"You shouldn't believe everything that lecher says. Besides, I would think I was a decent student…when I made it to class on time…or at all."
'I'd better get going.'
Shinji put back on his mask and willed his cloak to silently open the window so he could slip out quietly, a pair of footsteps shuffled in front of his door as he crawled out without making a sound. He made it out the window, scaling a pipe on the side of the wall and closing the window while climbing up using his claws.
Clink!
"Huh?"
The door opened suddenly in response to the noise made and Misato walked in to find it empty. As she took in the small room, Misato was hit with a large pang of sadness and guilt, knowing Shinji would never be here again. She struggled to hold back tears. And worse, it was all her fault.
'Shinji…I am so sorry,' thought Misato, closing the door, wiping away the oncoming tears.
(NERV HQ the next day)
"He refused!" Misato exclaimed to Ritsuko.
"I'm afraid so. Suzuhara said, and I quote, 'I'm not going be your next human sacrifice for you stupid adults'," responded Ritsuko.
"But what about our offer for better medical care for his sister?"
Ritsuko scoffed much to her friend's surprise.
"The commander wouldn't have honored that deal. Besides, she's out of the hospital, already healed completely."
"What?! That can't be right! Her injuries were very severe!" Misato exclaimed.
"True, but…" Ritsuko started digging out copies of the girl's x-rays out of a folder she had on her person.
"These are x-ray copies of Mari Suzuhara's injuries from Unit-01's first battle with the Third Angel, and they were pretty gruesome. And these are her new x-rays."
The purple-haired major eyes widened. The girl's bones were nicely healed, as if they were never broken, and there were no signs of any lacerations, and her more visible injuries were gone, as if they were never there.
"How can this be?" Misato asked.
"Her doctors ran every single test they had, and they all came back green. She has completely recovered." Ritsuko said. "A true miracle, they said."
"Did the little girl say anything as to what happened? What made her better?" Misato asked.
"No, all she heard was the voice of someone sounding sad. Then the next thing she knew, she was better."
"A sad…man?"
Both women contemplated that little thing in silence while moving back to the main problem at hand. They were short a pilot, and a new Evangelion was about to be delivered to them. Before the conversation could continue, an employee ran up to the pair.
"Major! Doctor, we've been breached in one of the lower levels!" the employee reported.
"What?!" they exclaimed in unison.
"Our food, medical supplies, and some explosives are all gone!"
"But what about our munitions and supplies for the Evas?" Ritsuko questioned.
"Untouched, ma'am. The storage units for them weren't breached. It was just our emergency supplies." the worker replied.
"Show us," Misato ordered him.
"Yes, Major, right this way."
The employee nodded and took point while his superiors followed, both of them wondering how could they have been breached again and by who…or what…and why.
The three reached the lower level storage facility as it was being quarantined by Section 2 agents, who were scanning for any clues, such as prints of any kind, forced entry, etc.…
The pair were both flabbergasted to see nothing was there. It was all cleaned out, not a piece of instant meals, no bandages, not even paper towels or bottled waters were left behind.
"H-how is this possible? Who the hell could have done this?" Misato whispered.
"Was this storage space the only one?" Ritsuko asked.
"No, it wasn't," Kaji said, walking up to the pair.
"Another storage space was also cleaned out on one of the other levels. We shifted through that space with a fine-toothed comb and found nothing. The commander thinks it was an inside job, but it's doubtful since there aren't that many people that work here."
"Not to mention there are about a dozen different level exits that are under constant surveillance," said Misato.
"So, how could that have happened? Who's responsible for this?" whispered Ritsuko.
"I don't know."
All three just stared at the empty room in complete silence, wonder, and in a little fear. Who could have done this? And why?
(Later on that early evening in Tokyo-3 airfield)
Three armed men in well-dressed silk suits stood on the side of a runway in an airfield. Two of the men were both 5'7 while the third was shorter and more portly than then the other two. He wore a light purple suit and had low cut hair he had dark shades and a goatee.
His name was Tarukane. A dangerous, short-tempered fellow with a penchant for shooting first and asking questions later. He took out a carton of cigarettes from his jacket pocket while looking up at the sky.
"Mr. Tarukane, just who is this guy the boss called for?" asked one of the men a bit nervously.
Taking a drag off his cigarette, he snorted and answered, "We're waiting on a client. A very special client. One that deals in…unusual problems."
Both men looked at each other before looking at the boss, as he continued smoking.
"The Doctor is…antsy…now. It's got something to do with what happened in Fukuoka a couple of nights ago. Something…in that area smoked some of our guys."
"Oh, yeah, Gonza was the only one that came back from that, wasn't he?"
Yeah, that's right. At first, we had Wonder Girl to worry about, but we got someone else disrupting our operations." Tarukane said, puffing out smoke.
"So, who is this guy?" the same man asked.
"You're about to find out, screwball, his plane is coming in fast," answered Tarukane, looking up at the sky.
Sure enough, a private, medium-sized cargo plane was seen making its descent, landing carefully on the runway, rolling to a complete stop six feet away from the trio.
Tarukane and the two walked around to the aircraft's rear where the door was. Tarukane tossed away his cigarette and waited with bated breath. The door opened slowly and out walked a figure, literally half-man, half-machine, wearing a blue, faded, military-style uniform, the left half of him was all metal, his left arm sprouted a large metal canon from the elbow up with a metal left leg, the left half of his face was also metal with one red, glowing eye, while his right eye was a stone-cold, emotionless blue, along with very pale skin, almost ghostly-white. His other side was all organic and he had short, black hair, fully intact (Frank Archer from FMA).
"Gentlemen, this is Frank Archer, AKA, Psychocyde," Tarukane introduced.
"The Psychocyde…the one man who massacred three terror cells in Somalia in a single night." One man said in a scared tone.
"I'm glad to know my reputation proceeds me," Psychocyde spoke, his voice half-normal, half-mechanized.
Psychocyde stepped off the ramp, his left leg, which was robotic, made a loud, clanking sound as he walked.
"So I understand the Doctor has an unusual problem. I assume it's Wonder Girl." Psychocyde guessed. "Is that the reason he called me?"
"No, sir, that brat is not the concern…yet. It's something or someone else." Tarukane answered nervously.
Psychocyde raised his right eyebrow with interest.
"Oh, who?"
"No idea on who, but this incident happened in the Fukuoka area. Gonza said that whatever that thing was had chains like live vipers and a red cloak. The thing took out some of our guys before they knew what hit them."
"Hmm…interesting," Psychocyde replied in a thoughtful tone.
"W-we…we have a car waiting…sir…we'll take you to…the b-boss. He should have further details." stammered one man.
Psychocyde glanced at him with his one organic eye. He smirked because of the fear he was instilling in them. Calmly, he walked up to the trio like a lion stalking its prey.
"Do you want to know why I'm called Psychocyde?"
The men merely trembled a bit in fear while the cyborg took it as a cue to continue.
"When I was Cyberized, the strength, the power I felt…changed me. Made me…a living weapon. And it also made me a bit…unstable."
The cyborg smiled sadistically and opened his mouth to reveal a large machine gun.
RATTAAAA!
"Gah!"
Tarukane dove to the ground and covered his head,, whimpering as multiple bullets shot out from his mouth. After a couple of quiet moments, the short man looked up and saw that the men that he brought with him were dead on the ground.
"Come, I don't want to keep my employer waiting."
"Right, c—c-coming," stammered Tarukane scattered to his feet getting the car, glancing back at the bullet-riddled dead bodies.
(Tokyo-3)
Wonder Girl was flying through the air patrolling the city. So far, it had been a quiet night. She had stopped a mugging and a kidnapping attempt.
She continued flying high into the air, glancing down at the quiet city, nothing else out of the ordinary. No sign of Cheetah since their last encounter, or any signs of Hades' or Ares' monsters, which was a welcome relief.
Still, as an Amazon, she maintained her guard, as anything could happen. After just a few more minutes of aimless flying, she finally decided to head home. Peering down, Wonder Girl saw a flash of red atop of a random building.
"Huh!" went Wonder Girl as she stopped in mid-air.
"What was that?" she asked aloud, looking around.
"Was that…him? Spawn?"
Sure enough, the mysterious figure stepped out from the darkness, with his cloak flowing as if it was alive. He stood on the edge, looking down in some alley. Slowly but surely, Wonder Girl lowered herself, careful not to make a sound. However, Spawn was already aware of her presence and readied himself just in case.
"Spawn," she addressed.
"Wonder Girl," responded Spawn, turning slightly.
"I did not expect to see you again so soon after our first encounter."
"Hmph, small, broken world, isn't it?"
"But since you're here, perhaps you can shed some light on what you are. You said you weren't a creation of Hades or a servant of Ares. You are something much different, aren't you?"
Shinji remained quiet, contemplating if he should explain the origins of his suit. That it is from Hell, not the Greek underworld that presumably exists that she knows of. Seeing that there was no harm in at least telling what he knew of the suit, Shinji nodded.
"Where…I'm from is Hell, just a darker one. One that no longer exists." Spawn explained.
"So…you serve no master, then?"
"I did serve…in a sense. But not anymore, I am free." Spawn answered, not wanting to relive the memories that he had of being a pilot for NERV.
"You have known servitude, then?"
"Unfortunately. My purpose now is…well look for yourself," he gestured.
The young Amazon cautiously walked up to the edge to look where Spawn was looking over. Sure enough, she saw a homeless family of three huddled together around a barrel of fire trying to keep warm, eating what appeared to be half-cooked instant meals. Wonder Girl couldn't help but feel sympathy for what she was seeing, a family who should be warm and safe in their homes were out in the cold, harsh world that she fights for.
"From what I gathered, these people were forced out of their home by those assholes at NERV in order to store their giant weapons in the Tokyo buildings, converting their apartments into weapon storages. Giving them nothing in compensation, leaving them to be forgotten. But I doubt someone like you could understand."
"What's that suppose to mean?" Wonder Girl asked, feeling insulted.
Before Spawn could reply, the sounds of sirens echoed through the city, and a large fire was coming from a tall building in the business district of the city.
Wonder Girl turned to the source of the trouble and then turned back to Spawn, who seemed unmoved by the event.
"Well, aren't you going to go?"
Wonder Girl glanced at Spawn, trying to decipher his features, but it was difficult to tell behind that mask he wears. Taking off into the air, the young girl spoke, "I hope to continue this conversation again another time."
"Maybe," he muttered softly, glancing down at the family of three, who had just finished eating.
"Gendo, Misato, all of NERV owes the people who have been hurt in the aftermath in the battles against the Angels, and I'm gonna make sure that they pay in spades. Speaking of which…"
Spawn teleported from the top of the building in a flash of green light.
(Fukuoka)
Spawn found himself back in Fukuoka atop of the building he occupied previously, looking down on the people below who were eating hearty meals of instant and canned foods and drinking more than several dozen bottles of clean water for each family that needed it.
Courtesy of NERV.
Shinji had teleported to a few of the storage rooms of NERV HQ, where they housed emergency rations in case of an Angel attack that put the base on lockdown, like with the Ninth Angel or a power outage.
Using his shroud, he scooped up all their supplies and brought it here. To the truly needy, M.O.M walked up behind him with a proud smirk on his face. Al Simmons chose the right person to wear the uniform in his mind. He wouldn't have bothered to help the needy, only when it was convenient for him did Simmons help others, nothing more.
"You've done these people a tremendous service, young Spawn," praised M.O.M to him.
"If I could do one thing useful with this symbiote, it would be this," said Shinji using his normal voice, looking down on the alleyways as the food was being distributed.
"Indeed."
"Some of these people I've spoken to actually worked for NERV at one time or another. My father made promises, but went back on his word, showing how vile he truly is."
"Do you think you should have done something to him at the gathering several nights ago? Pay him back for his lies?" M.O.M inquired.
At this, Shinji looked conflicted. He could have easily torn Gendo apart during that robbery while in the dark that night, and no one would ever know. While he was in front of his father, the suit could feel the evil and sins radiating off of him, giving the suit strength.
Shinji had guessed he committed numerous sins throughout his lifetime, which wasn't surprising. He knew his father wasn't a good person. His abandonment and being forced into Eva made that very clear.
"I…I…don't know. Apart of me wanted to do it that night. It would have been so easy," said Shinji.
"Sometimes, the easy ways aren't always the best ways, Spawn," M.O.M spoke sagely.
"But through the suit, I felt the sin, the evil coming off my father in waves. It was overwhelming. I'm not sure if I want to know what other terrible things he did in the years I didn't see him."
"That may be for the best, as evil, such as the one you must have felt, can unknowingly spread like a virus."
"Hmmm…" Shinji hummed, looking down on the people who were eating.
"You must remember to hold onto your humanity, for the moment your grasp falters, the uniform you wear could very well infect you."
"Bring him over here! Hurry!" a voice called out.
"Huh?" Shinji went, looking down at the people.
There, he saw Taka and two other homeless men, carrying someone that was bleeding out profusely. Upon closer inspection, Shinji could see that he was missing…an arm. Other people began to bring over some medical supplies that Shinji had pilfered from NERV, and Taka had begun shouting out instructions to keep the victim from bleeding out entirely. Apparently, he must have been some medic or had some medical training. Shinji jumped down to get a closer look, and what he saw made him gasp. The man being tended to lost his right arm.
"It was horrible. We couldn't stop him. Just watched as he tore him apart!" one stout man exclaimed.
"Just one?" Shinji muttered softly.
"He was a mean-looking son of a bitch. He had weapons and other crap coming out of his arm. And his eye."
"Glowing red, like blood."
"I think he was looking for the person who whacked some big shots, hitmen. Even after he told him everything he knew…he still took his arm!"
"What are we gonna do?!"
Shinji fell silent, feeling responsible for what happened to this poor man. A loud rumble was heard, and the area just exploded into flames, blasting Shinji into a wall.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"My, my," the figure said.
The people gathered, quickly scattered, as someone began to step out of the smoke and flames. The right half of him was cloaked in shadow, the left half had a large, metal arm sticking out like a sore thumb. Shinji was regaining his bearing while he felt himself being hoisted up roughly.
"Tell me you're not the guy who took out Tarukane's men," the half-machine said, grabbing Shinji and slamming him against the wall.
"Arg!" Shinji grunted in pain and then slumping back to the ground.
"Tell me it's somebody with some balls and not some no-talent asshole in cosplay," he snarked almost angrily.
The mysterious figure tossed Shinji around a couple more times, walked up to the downed Hellspawn whose face showed fear for the first time since he was forced to fight the Third Angel. As the mysterious cyborg raised up his left hand and mini-machine gun at the downed Shinji, suddenly an ingrained instinct rose up with Shinji.
RATATATA
"When threatened, the ingrained skills and instincts of the previous host implant themselves into a new host, making them his own," said M.O.M, watching from a distance while assisting some unfortunate people that scurried away in fear.
Shinji rolled out of the way, military-style, and ran quickly to avoid the bullets firing at him. The cyborg ran out and then switched to a small, pointed missile. He took aim and fired.
WReeee!
BOOM!
"Gah!"
The whole block shook at the shock wave of the large explosion, much to the horror of the people nearby as the buildings that served as their homes were destroyed. Smoke filled the entire area as the alley was leveled. Shinji avoided the falling debris, rolling onto the ground. He looked up to find himself in front of his attacker, the half-man, half-machine that smirked evilly. Unbeknownst to him, Spawn willed his cloak to trip him up.
"Argh!" he grunted, losing his footing as he was suddenly pushed into the wall.
Shinji landed a right and left punch to his face, not feeling the pain. He was going for another punch until it was caught by him.
"Gargh!" Shinji groaned in pain.
Shinji found himself on a knee, then he was pulled up and punched repeatedly, and the cyborg smiled sadistically, his human eye-widening with glee. Shinji willed his chains to wrap around the cyborg's throat, enabling him to break from the cyborg's grip. Shinji wasted no time and instinctively grabbed a metal rod nearby, and jammed it into his red eye.
"Arh!" he screamed out in pain, stumbling around wildly.
This angered the cyborg as he stumbled out the entrance of the alley. He raised his left arm and fired two more missiles into the air, hitting the buildings around Shinji, causing debris to fall on him.
BOOM! BOOM!
"Though the uniform will often protect him, a Spawn is not invincible. This particular Spawn is still mortal, and subject to the laws of the natural order." M.O.M mused.
Fire and smoke filled the area as the cyborg walked away, damaged, but feeling victorious. As soon as the smoke started to clear, Taka approached cautiously.
"What a mess," one man said, seeing the devastation.
"Shinji!" Taka called out, wondering if he was still alive. "Shinji!"
"Hey, don't waste your breath."
"Shinji! Shinji!"
A pile of rubble moved nearby and a clawed hand shot up, revealing that Shinji was still alive. Taka wasted no time in digging him out.
(Later on)
Shinji teleported himself back to New York City, back into Rat City, to retrieve some things that he had inherited from Al Simmons. He walked to the closet to reveal the weapons that were kept here.
Shinji hesitantly picked an AK-47 up, remembering his Eva training. He hated the gun, the weapons, all of it. He never was a violent person. While he was at it, he picked up some grenades just in case. Then Shinji picked up a semi-auto for last.
'Just aim and fire, Shinji.' Misato's voice echoed.
"Get out of my head!" he growled.
'Try as you might, you can never escape the truth: You were her weapon, not a person.'
"Grragh!" Shinji growled in anger, using his teleportation power, draining him considerably again.
This time, Shinji had found himself back in Fukuoka, on the ground, gasping for air. Shinji felt dazed again but momentarily regained his bearings.
"If he's dead, just leave him," one man snapped. "Probably better off."
"Cops, fires, dead bodies everywhere!"
Taka walked up to Spawn with concern written all over his face, Shinji shakily got to his feet.
"Hey, Shinji, you ok?" asked Taka.
"Gimme a second," replied Shinji.
"Come back to do more damage?! We ain't got enough dead and wounded?!"
"Hey, come one, Karato, can't you see he's laid up?"
"He's not the only one! See the east alley? It's a disaster zone! And look, him he's armed to the teeth now! What are you, some kind of maniac?!"
"No, I'm just-" Shinji trailed off.
"Ease up, Karato. Maybe he's just defending himself." Taka inputted.
"Oh, yeah, who's gonna protect us from him?" Karato snarked angrily, walking off.
"Hey, don't worry about him. He's just scared. You seem like an okay kind of guy." Taka said, walking off. "And thanks again for getting us those supplies."
Shinji nodded as he stood there with a guilty look on his face, obscured by the mask. He unconsciously cocked the rifle, suddenly determined to find the cyborg before he came back. Going back to the last place the cyborg was, Spawn saw that he left a blood trail, from his eye most likely, and Shinji began to follow it.
(In an undisclosed location)
Well, I can get your thermals back up, and your full UV specs, but you're going to experience a significant red shift in your fast scan. This is patchwork at best." stated the doctor working on Psychocyde's cybernetic eye.
"Can I use the eye, yes or no?" the cyborg asked irritably.
"Well. yes, but no extended night vision or close-up reading." answered the doctor, putting the finishing touches on the eye.
Before the doctor could say anything else further…
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The door was suddenly blown apart, blasting the doctor down against the side of the wall. The smoke cleared, and the guy who killed Tarukane's men stood out, holding two AK-47's.
"Knock, Knock!" he said.
Psychocyde shot up from the table, only to get shot up as Spawn began to lay fire.
RATTTTTAAAAA RTAAATAAAA.
"Guag! Argh" the cyborg groaned in pain but was still standing.
"How? I killed you!" exclaimed the cyborg.
"Can't kill me if I'm already dead," replied Spawn.
"Rargggh!" Psychocyde charged at Spawn, driving him to through the brick wall.
Flashes of images raced through Shinji's mind, and he unconsciously discarded the rifles and kicked Pscyhocyde in the gut, then slashed at his human face with his claws.
"Argh!
The cyborg growled and opened his mouth and fired off bullets from his mouth. Shinji wrapped himself in the shroud to protect himself like a cocoon. Shinji willed his chains to snag his rifles from underneath the cloak. Psychocyde stopped firing and to his surprise Spawn jumped into the air.
His cloak, spreading out like a large bat, his chains aiming his rifles and then began firing again, filling him with holes, and then more sets of chains dug into the ground, shooting out and wrapped around the cyborg, all the way to his head. Spawn willed his chains to rip him apart, limb by limb, literally, his mechanical arm and organic arm and mechanical leg and organic leg. Spawn picked up a rifle and without warning, shot him point-blank through the head.
"Walk away from that scape pile," whispered Shinji, seeing the cyborg fall down dead.
Spawn looked up to see the doctor who had been working him, wounded, but not severely, as he was only hit in the arm. Spawn walked up to him and he picked him up roughly.
"Alright, Doc, I'm only going to ask only once. Who sent him?" Spawn demanded while the doctor shook in fear at what he just saw.
(A Garage with Tarukane)
I want someone monitoring the phones all day, and if Archer doesn't call, I want him found and brought to me," said Tarukane, walking to his car with two of his men.
"What is this BS? I hire people, they get killed, they disappear, such a bother," he complained.
The man nodded and opened the door, only to see pieces of human and metal parts to spill out of the limo, much to the shock of the three men present.
"Archer."
"Son of a bitch."
"That he was, " a voice said, its owner jumping on top of the car.
Quickly, both men went for their guns, only for the cloaked figure to raise his rifle and…
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He shot both of them in the legs, disabling them.
"Then again, so are you."
"What the f-ugh."
Tarukane found himself on the other end of the rifle, as he was tripped onto the ground.
"Who are you? What do you want?! Anything, anything at all."
"I want you to stay out of Fukuoka, Tarukane. Your business there is done, understand? Whatever wild hair you had up your ass is officially plucked." said the figure.
"You, you smoked my men!" Tarukane exclaimed from the ground.
"I'll let you in on a little secret: they were doing bad things. But relax, I'm through killing your men. The next time I see one of your brain-dead goons so much as sneeze in the direction of that place, I'm gonna come back and pay you a little visit, Taruakane. And believe me, it won't be as pleasant as the visit I paid your hired cyborg."
Shinji knew he should stop right there, but for some reason, he couldn't; something told him he had to get his point across.
"So here's how it goes, you work for me now, and your job is simple, give me my space, you understand? All I want a little peace and quiet. Got it, fat boy?" Spawn finished.
"Yes," he answered lamely.
"Say it."
"I work for you, and you want peace and quiet," the man repeated.
"And who am I?"
"I don't know."
"That's right, you don't know. Let that little mystery keep you up at night." Spawn finished before walking away.
Tarukane, got up and grabbed his gun, and fired in the direction the figure left, only to find that he disappeared entirely.
"Rarrrrh!" he screamed out loud.
(Elsewhere)
A human-feline hybrid figure with long, red hair, wearing a black, two-piece swimsuit with matching open fingered gloves, was seen overlooking the city from the mountains. She was still licking her wounds from her previous encounter with Wonder Girl. She nearly had her defeated, as she looked towards the city of Tokyo-3, an image of someone in a red cape flashed before her eyes.
"Hmm, so the Goddesses have sent me a new target, now," mused the figure, walking out to view the city.
"If that's the case, then Cheetah will appease the goddess and will capture this prey, and then I'll go after Wonder Girl." Cheetah stated empathically, jumping down the mountain, going through the fields and towards the city of Tokyo-3.
The Hunt was on!
End Chapter
End Notes: Sorry this took so long, but here it is. This chapter was more Spawn-like than Eva-like, as you saw Frank Archer was my version of Overtkill, obviously. Shinji robbed NERV blind and used the guns that Al Simmons left him. Also, you can see Shinji is constantly struggling with Letha, the symbiote is digging deep into his negative thoughts and we all know he's got enough to fill a mountain. And the symbiote had been with Simmons for decades so whatever skills he had, are now copied onto Shinji, although he doesn't know it yet. Next chapter, the 13th Angel may make an appearance in another form or canon depends on what you all wanna see, Spawn and Wonder Girl will either fight again or team-up. Lisa Wu will begin her search for Spawn, and someone will go after Wonder Girl. Got a new poll on my profile, I'm really sorry this blasted pandemic has slowed me down not to mention I've got some personal issues slowing me down too. Working on my fics one at a time. Read and Review and stay Prime.
