Sorry for making you wait for so long! I got caught up with life and forgot all about this story for a while. The reason why the chapter is unfinished is listed at the bottom of the story. Please don't skip to the end just to read the reasoning. Well other than that, here's your yearly 1k update!

Chapter 1

Neige yawned as he woke up. He squinted his eyes as the sun snuck through his sky hole, directly into his eyes. He sat up from the pile of straw and glanced around his room. He yawned again and slid off his bed and onto the ground. He went to his door and unlocked it. He then opened it and glanced out into the hallway to make sure no one was there. He then stepped out of his room.

He turned to his left and walked down the hall, alert for any sounds. At the end of the hallway, there was a landing platform that he was aiming for. He walked to the landing platform in the castle and jumped. He spread his wings and soared over the savanna beneath him. He hovered for a second and scanned his surroundings. He spotted a fluffle of bunnies and tilted his wings down. He landed on the ground with a thump, directly in front of one of the bunnies. He quickly snatched one up and finished it off. The other bunnies bounded away quickly, trying to get away from him. He took a bite and watched the bunnies scatter, chuckling at their attempts to escape. As he brought the bunny up to his mouth to take another bite, he heard a sound behind him. He jumped and turned around quickly, growling. He immediately stopped growling as he saw who it was.

"Miasma! What are you doing?" Asked Neige, staring directly into her eyes.

"Uhh..." Miasma said, staring back, uncomfortably, "Sneaking up on you?"

"Why?" Neige asked, squinting his eyes at her.

"You can't pressure me into saying everything I was doing," Miasma said with a flick of her tail and a "Hmph."

Neige chuckled to himself. He walked up to her, wrapped his tail around hers. "I forgive you," Neige said, jokingly.

"Why do you always do this? You know I hate being uncomfortable," She said, pulling away and glaring at him.

"It's funny; that's why I do it," Neige said with a wide grin.

"It's not funny for me!" Miasma exclaimed.

Neige chuckled as he said, "You hungry?"

"Sure," Miasma responded, squinting her eyes in suspicion at him.

Neige snuck around behind the lion, almost completely soundless. He spotted Miasma in the distance crouching around behind a gazelle, getting ready to spring. Neige returned his attention to his lion just as a scream echoed across the savanna. He stood up, perking his ears up, momentarily forgetting about the lion. The lion noticed he was there and sprung at him. He looked back just as the lion got within a meter of him. He dodged and slashed the lion in the face. Stunning and blinding it. The lion roared and slashed the air around him, nicking his shoulder. Neige backed off quickly to recover his breath. Neige grunted in pain then jumped forwards, landing on the lion's back. He quickly snapped the lion's neck and jumped off of it. The lion's body slowly toppled over and hit with a loud thump.

Neige sat back on his haunches, trying to catch his breath. He looked over to where Miasma was a few minutes earlier and saw her winging her way towards him. When he finally recovered his breath, she landed directly in front of him.

"Neige, are you okay?" She said, checking his wound.

"I'm fine, Miasma; I've had worse," He grunted, rolling his eyes at her.

"Are you sure?" She squinted at him while checking his body for any other scratches.

"Yes," Neige said, exasperated, "Now, you heard that scream, right?"

"Oh yea, I forgot about that. We should probably check that out." She responded.

Xerophilous looked up as the two dragons landed next to him.

Xerophilous looked at them, looked at Opulence on the ground beneath him, then looked back.

"Uh. There's a reason for this?" Xerophlious stated wearily.

"You better have one," Neige said, glancing at the other dragon on the ground, "Also, whos that?"

"That's the reason why Opulence is on the ground right now," Xerophilous looked at both dragons on the ground, then gave Neige a cheeky smile.

Miasma looked at the tent and said, "Anyways, Xero, what's that?"

"That's Brightmind's tent. We approached her because we were curious, and someone," Xerophilous glanced at the heap of scales of the ground at his feet, "Decided to touch them."

Miasma responded with a facepalm. "So we've got to take her to the medical center, right?"

"Yep ... So who's going to get the cloth thing or whatever it's called?" Xerophilous stated with a slight sigh.

"I'll do it," Neige offered.

"Go on then," Miasma said, shooing him away quickly.

Neige sighed heavily as he landed at the entrance to the medical center. He walked up to Aurora, the medic.

"What do you need, Neige?" She asked him with a customer service smile.

"A cloth thing to carry a dragon," Neige stated with a slight shake of his head.

"What do you need it for?" She asked him politely.

"Opulence touched the first dragon that he's seen that isn't a deathwing," Neige mumbled.

"Well, wait here for a quick second as I get it for you!"

"Damn him," Aurora whispered under her breath while she was walking away, "He always ends up getting himself in troub-."

Neige looked around at the beds and noticed only one had a dragon in it. He walked up to the bed and looked at the dragon. Its scales were a bright lime-

I wrote more of this and was going to work on it more tonight, but as I was typing, I accidentally hit some button that pulled up the site's code. I was confused, then realized that it had moved from the page that I was working on. Luckily I had saved only a couple of sentences back so it wouldn't cause too much harm, right? WRONG. It set me back around 200-300 words through multiple saves and destroyed my eagerness to continue writing. So here's the half finished version of the story. I'll reupload the chapter when I finally get some more motivation. Thank you for reading through this rant, and I hope you have a great day/night!
