A Glee Fanfiction – A Text In Time

Summary – After five years of marriage to Blaine. Kurt was struggling…he was unhappy and tired. Blaine was never home, always at work and too busy to spend time with him anymore. Things were slowly starting to fall apart. In the end they called it quits and got a divorcer, agreeing to be adults about it all and share custody of there five year old daughter Lizzy Anderson-Hummel. After another three years went by Kurt became sad and depressed by the loss of company of a man at night, he was lonely: on three different types of medication and had no idea what any of them was for. So finally seeing that her friend was in a dark place and trying to cheer him up Rachel took Kurt out for some drinks at the night club , leading to him coming back very drunk and going onto a old dating app called love finder; sending a man nicknamed SoftBear a text. However when the next day arrives Kurt can't reamber a thing and yet has a reply back. So what will happen between Kurt and SoftBear and who even is SoftBear only time will tell. A Text In Time – Chapter 3 – Lizzy's Birthday

Thursday 18th June 2020. The day of Lizzy Anderson- Hummel's birthday. She was turning 6 years old today, yet Kurt can still remember the day he held her in his arms when she wasn't even a year old yet; how time flew by. In the years it was had for Lizzy to have a good birthday party with everybody she wanted there, due to Blaine and Kurt being divorced. But never the less they still tried to work as best as they could together to give there daughter a good party every year.

But this year, good was not good enough for Kurt. He wanted to make it great; a party she can tell her friends about and be proud of being at. He wanted to make the house look great and have all her favourite friends around, he wanted her to have the best gift; and that be off him and not Blaine and his shitty boyfriend. But most importantly he just wanted her to have a day of fun where the only person she had to worry about for the evening was herself.

So like clockwork, and because of his dam alarm clock. Kurt woke up at 9am. He got of off bed and walked to the bathroom. He had a quick shower, took his meds and then finally got changed.

After that was all done he then walked into the living room and started getting the front room ready. Blowing up the balloons and tying them around places in the house, putting up the happy birthday banner and setting the tables and chairs ready for people to sit on.

He was then just about to walk into the kitchen again to start making the food when his phone scene lit up with a message.

1 New Message – Lover Finder – From SoftBear

Kurt smiled at the fact he had a message back. Finally someone to talk to about things that were on his mind. Finally someone to listen.

Hey KCat ! Sure meeting on Friday is perfect for me as that's my day off. I can do anytime you want just let me know when and were. I love almost anything. Hope your daughter has a good birthday! Hope to hear from you soon – SoftBear

Kurt heart raced quickly in his chest. They were going to meet! This guy wanted to meet him and spend time with him!. He felt so happy and so wanted again for the first time in a long time. This could be a happy new fresh start for him. And a chance to get his life back on track to how it use to be but better.

But there was no time to think about this now, there was still so much that had to be done. So with that though in his head he raced into the kitchen and started cooking up the party food, cakes, pizza, crisp, chocolate the lot. He knew Blaine was going to buy the birthday cake so he didn't have to worry but that.

He put in all out on the table ready and along with the drink he had bought next to paper cups. This was going to be a good day, he could feel it ; this was the first day to a good fresh start.

Half an hour later. The party was supposed to start by now and everybody was meant to be here, including Lizzy. Where the hell was everybody? And there was Blaine with there daughter?

He checked the time he had but on the invasion again. And it was defiantly the time that it was now. He didn't know maybe everybody got stuck in traffic or something or got delayed at work. Thing like that happened right?

He decides to wait another 30 minutes. But again nothing.

By this time all the hot food like the pizza was cold and horrible, the balloons where slowly starting to go down and it was getting later and later.

And then finally there was a knock at the door. So he got up and answered it. Finally Blaine, Lizzy and Jackson were here.

"Where have you been?" Kurt said to Blaine.

Blaine looked at the floor "Mmm….Well you see" he was about to carry on when that bitch (Jackson) took over.

"She already had her party. At our place" he smirked

"What do you mean?" Kurt said looking at him in anger and shock "She was meant to have her party here, that what me and Blaine agreed on!" he yelled.

Jackson laughs "Yes but lets face it, look around you. You have cold food and sloppy balloons! At our house she got a bouncy castle, a clown, pin the tail on the donkey the lot!. We just give her the party that he dad who is too messed up in the head could't!"

And with that Kurt lost it he bought he right hand up and slapped Jackson right across the face leaving his check bright red.

Jackson looked at him in anger and then looked at Blaine "Are you really going to stand there and let him treat me like that!"

Blaine looked at Jackson in anger "Go wait in the car. NOW!"

And with that Jackson went back to the car leaving Kurt and Blaine alone to talk.

"There was no need to hit him you know" Blaine started.

"Are you for real! I'm not going to just stand there and take his shit Blaine! I did enough of that in high school and I'm working on my shit!" Kurt yelled.

"Okay I know you are and I'm sorry, and if it was to me when you would have been at Lizzy' birthday party. Jackson did this shit behind my back and Lizzy sore it and got all happy and I couldn't say no. I'm so sorry"

Kurt teared up with a single tear falling down his cheek "You know I really wanted today to just go right, I worked really hard on everything and I, I just"

"I know" Blaine said hugging him. Despite what they had gone though Blaine knew that when he and Kurt went in different ways it left Kurt feeling like this, with problems he caused. But he didn't want him to feel worthless.

"Look I really am sorry, we were meant to be taken Lizzy out for a movie but if you want to spend time with her or come with us then you can" Blaine smiled.

"No it's okay" Kurt said forcing a smile "As long as she had a good day that's all that matters. Can I at least give her, her birthday present before you take her please ?"

"Of course you can. You're her dad too you know" Blaine smiled.

So with that Kurt got the present and handed it to Lizzy. "Happy Birthday sweetie"

Lizzy smiled "Thanks daddy" and with that she opened it. Kurt was hoping for a lest a happy big reaction but what came was a look of disappoint.

"Oh daddy…I'm sorry" Lizzy said "But Jackson bought me this one this morning so I already have it" she said handing him back the doll.

"Oh" Kurt said trying not to cry in front of her "That okay umm….here" and with that he found himself handing over his last £10 note. "You can buy yourself something now"

Lizzy smiled and kissed his check "Thanks daddy Kurt, I'll see you in two days time" she then went back to the car and sat in the back.

Kurt looked at Blaine confused "Two days time?"

Blaine frowned "My mum had been complaining at me that she never gets to spend any time with Lizzy, so Jackson opened his mouth and said that Lizzy and mum could stay and his place for two days. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner"

"That's okay" Kurt said "I know how your mum can be"

"Thanks for understanding, and if you need anything in the meantime or want me to bring her back sooner then you can just call" Blaine said smiling.

"Of course" Kurt replied.

With that said Blaine then walked about to the car getting in and driving away.

Kurt went into the house and broke down in front of the door crying. He so wanted today to just be perfect, this was meant to be the first day of his fresh start. But of course that would go wrong.

So he cleared up the living room and throws it all in the bin continuing to cry. And when it was finally down him through himself into bed without a meal; not feeling hungry. Today had been one of the worse days ever.

Then he remembered SoftBear. He had to message him back about meeting tomorrow. So he got his phone out and sent a text tying to make himself feel good at least about this.

Hey SoftBear ! thanks for messaging me back, my daughters birthday went well I think, I was not there for it so I wouldn't be able to tell you but I don't want to boar you with details about me. And I glad to here about tomorrow say maybe the cafe down (the muffin house) at 4:00pm in the afternoon? Hope to hear back from you - KCat

And finally with that final message sent for the night he went to sleep. Hopefully his meeting would go well tomorrow he though to himself. He really was look forward to finding out who this SoftBear might really be.

Hey Guys so that's it! Chapter 3 done. Once again sorry for the late update family stuff and all that jazz. I think I might have to move my uploading day to Wednesdays from now on, but I don't know we will have to see.
