A Glee Fanfiction – A Text In Time

Summary – After five years of marriage to Blaine. Kurt was struggling…he was unhappy and tired. Blaine was never home, always at work and too busy to spend time with him anymore. Things were slowly starting to fall apart. In the end they called it quits and got a divorcer, agreeing to be adults about it all and share custody of there five year old daughter Lizzy Anderson-Hummel. After another three years went by Kurt became sad and depressed by the loss of company of a man at night, he was lonely: on three different types of medication and had no idea what any of them was for. So finally seeing that her friend was in a dark place and trying to cheer him up Rachel took Kurt out for some drinks at the night club , leading to him coming back very drunk and going onto a old dating app called love finder; sending a man nicknamed SoftBear a text. However when the next day arrives Kurt can't reamber a thing and yet has a reply back. So what will happen between Kurt and SoftBear and who even is SoftBear only time will tell. A Text In Time – Chapter 5 – First Date

Saturday 20th June 2020. Kurt woke up early in the morning at 9am grinning from ear to ear about how yesterday went for him. Things never usel go right for him so it was nice that this time it did. And now he finally knew who Softbear was. Although he never in a million years would have thought it to be his former class mate David Kurofksy. But he was glade it was.

He couldn't wait to see him again today for there first proper date; knowing each other as David and Kurt , rather then SoftBear and KCat. He made breakfast and sat there eating it wondering what David might have planned for them to do.

And then as if like magic his phone went off with a text message from SoftBear.

Morning KCat - Kurt x

I can't wait to see you again this morning. Last night was so much fun and you have no idea how happy I am that KCat turned out to be you. Anyway I was thinking that our date could be at a movie. I have made a picnic basket with food in that we could't take and eat after at the park if you fancy it ? if you do just give me a message back and let me know.

Kurt smiled more and text back.

Hey Softbear x

Yes that sounds lovely. I am can be ready in the next hour if that's okay with you ? – KCat x

Kurt was just about to put the phone down when he innately got a replay back.

Yep that work perfect for me. I shall pick you up from your place then x – Softbear

With that Kurt finished off his breakfast; washed up his plate. And then went to his room looking through his wardrobe to get ready for his date with David. It was sunny today she he didn't know weaver or not he should wear shorts.

Would shorts give off the wrong idea to David? He didn't want to show off to much skin that was for sure.

In the end he decide he was going to wear shorts after all. And went with an nice army green pain that came up just above his knees. And to match that with a short sleeve white top.

Finally feeling happy with his outfit he then made his way downstairs and waited outside his house for David to arrive. In a way he felt like he should have got David a gift. Or should have made more of an effort with his outfit. He had all of theses doubts in his head saying that he should do stuff better but he was trying hard to block it all out.

Lucky he didn't have to try for too long cause David arrived. He looked really good ; he was wearing a dark blue t-shirt with some black shorts.

"Hey Kcat" he said giggling as he steped outside the car "Theses are for you" he said handing Kurt a bunch of white lilies.

"There beautiful , thank you. But you don't have to keep getting me gift you know" Kurt said smiling.

"I know" Dave said smiling back "But I want do. A guy like you deserve gifts and flowers" he added blushing.

"Thanks" Kurt blushed "But I feel bad cause I never got you anything and that's twice now!" he giggled.

Dave smiled taking his hand "I'm a simple man Kurt. You don't know how long I wanted to go out with you for so the fact that I finally get to and you don't hate me is more then enough"

Kurt smiled taking his hand back and hugging him close "I could never hate you Dave you hurt me in the past but that over now. You said sorry for what you did and I forgive you; so that's , that. I am happy to be going on a date with you trust me"

Dave smiled blushing hard. Those words would mean more to him then gifts would ever mean. After all to him this still felt like an amazing dream and he didn't want to wake up from it. But he did have to get out off his daydream some time.

"You ready to go?" Kurt asked smiling.

Dave smiled back and lead him to the car opening the door for him to get in "Of course, after you angel"

Kurt blushed getting in and smiled back at him "Thanks handsome"

Dave also blushed smiling and then got into the driver's side and drove to the cinema. He had no idea what they wear going to see yet, he just hoped that he and Kurt could cuddle up whiled they watched it.

Meanwhile Kurt was thinking the same. Apart from the fact that he hoped they could watch a romantic movie so that way he can kiss Dave at some point today without things seeming weird.

Finally they didn't have to think anymore because they were finally there. Dave parked up and then smiled taking Kurt hand.

"What would you like to watch?" Dave asked smiling at Kurt.

Kurt blushed "I love Romaic movies or musicals. But I'm happy with whatever"

Dave smiled "That sounds good. Although I never watched a musical in my life" he giggled.

Kurt looked at him in shock "Omg we have to change that if you're going to date me then!"

Dave laughed "Well they have something called Grease on. Is that a musical?" he asked.

Kurt shouted laughing "David Kurofsky ! you sir have a lot to learn. And yes it is a musical so we can start with that one…please" he smiled

Dave giggled and took his hand going to buy the tickets for grease.

They then took there seats and sat down. Dave had bought them popcorn and a drink each.

The film had already started. He know he should have been watching it because Kurt will properly quiz him on it after, but he could help but watch Kurt instead.

The boy he fall in love with a high school had grown up so much from then. He was taller for a start: But there was so much more to it then that. He had become more into himself and more Kurt. It was a joy just to be sat by him and watching him smiling , singing and dancing away to himself. But he could help but notice that there was something else Kurt was feeling. Scared.

He didn't think it was because of him though or because of the date. But there was more to Kurt that had happened since he sore him that was for sure. He wondered in his head if it was something to do with when he and Blaine got discovered. He wanted to know more but at the same time he didn't want to presser Kurt for it, he would just ask when then time felt right.

Kurt smiled turning to face him and blushed rosy red when he noticed when Dave was staring back at him smiling like a cheerier cat "Mmm are you enjoying the movie?" he asked.

"Very much" Dave smiled "I think I could get into theses musicals. Or I could just watch you cause either one sounds perfect" he blushed.

Kurt blushed more as the movie came to an end and he took Dave had leaving. "Thank you for all of this by the way" he smiled

"Your welcome" Dave replied smiling back at him "You still want to go to the park and have the picnic he asked.

"Love to" Kurt smiled

And with that they both went back into Dave car and he drove them to a nearby park. Where they parked up and set up and picnic in a nice shady spot under an old oak tree at once they had finally reached the park.

They then began talking and laughing about how Dave had no lost his Musicals virginity and how he had never seen one in the first place. He Dave could push the thought to the back of his mind about the fact that Kurt still looked at bot scared. He then before his head had time to think it though his mouth was already in movement about to ask Kurt the important question he had wanted to.

"Hey Kurt. Not to be rude or anything but I could help but notice that on the last too times we have meet you looked scared. I don't really think it's because of me so I'm going to ask you this question and you don't have to answer but it would mean a lot to me if you did. So Ummu why did you have to see a psychiatrist for?"

You Dum ass Dave. He thought to himself after the words come out.

Kurt sat being quiet for a while. He always sort off knew that this question would come up sooner or later and to be far Dave did have a right to know now they wear going to be dating. He just didn't know how to tell him. How do you make yourself not seem like a freak when you say stuff like "Well I only g out of the house to see my psychiatrist, doctors appioments and to take Lizzy to school"

Dave looked at him more. He could see tear forming in Kurt's eyes and felt guilty as hell. The last thing he wanted to do today was to make Kurt cry. He took Kurt hands into his own hoping that it might help "You really don't have to tell me if you don't want to I don't want to make you cry or uncalmable around me again" he asked.

After 10 minutes had pasted Kurt finally found the courage he needed to, to tell Dave what he wanted to know.

"When Blaine and I got divorced I fell into a dark place and things went really bad. All I had was Lizzy and I felt like I could speak to anybody else again. I do everything I can online and only really good out when I have to because I'm really sacred that people can see into me and what I have done and that they will judge me for it. I take three different types of tablets and I only know that one of them is for depssion. But I am trying to get better and your helping with that a lot but that is why I see her , my psychiatrist. But I get that if you-

But before he could finish what he had left to say , Dave grabbed his face gently and kissed him with passion and love.

Kurt blushed and kissed back, he did expect this but it was perfect and to be fair Dave was a really good kisser and this one was way better then the one in high school.

After it stopped Dave smiled and looked at him with love "Firstly thank you for telling me that, I know that couldn't be easy for you to have said to me. But I want you to know Kurt am not leaving you okay? I want to help you if I can and I didn't want you to say this so you get upset I just wanted you to say it so I can help"

Kurt smiled as a happy tear rolled down his check "Thank you, and from now on I will tell you everything"

Dave smiled and they both went on with the date smiling and laughing in till it late.

Then Dave drove Kurt back at his house. Kurt got out of the car and smiled to him. "Dave?" he said blushing.

"Yes Kurt?" he smiled.

"Would you stay the night?" Kurt asked.

"I would love to" Dave replied.

So they both went inside and watched telly where they then fall asleep together cuddled up on Kurt's bed.

Dave opened his eyes to see Kurt smiling and sleeping. The scary feeling and look had gone. He was going to help this man if it was the last thing he did. Cause Kurt Hummel was worth helping.
