"Mr. Winchester, could you please unhand my beloved, even from over here I can see that she is very uncomfortable. Oh, and while you are at it, could you please refrain from telling anyone about her secret? It would be oh, so appreciated." The voice was calm and pleasant, requesting, not ordering, him to release Blake Belladonna.
And yet despite that, it filled his heart with terror, his body freezing mid-action and his mind racing.
Death, he was going to die, get away, get away! Can't escape, not from him, he was dead, dead, dead, dead.
What was he doing here? He left before the festival started, he should still be away!
This situation was like a nightmare, something he had had for quite some time. Yet he knew that this was all too real. He needed to calm down, there must be something he could do…
'Beloved', 'my beloved'. They were an item…
Death. It's coming closer. He's going to die. No escape, no possible excuses.
"Do not make me repeat myself, Cardin Winchester. Please unhand her." The voice came again, this time from right behind him. It was still calm and pleasant, but the way he said his name brought a shiver down his spine.
A hand grabbed his wrist, forcing him to release his grip on Blake. Then another hand grabbed him around the neck, and the next thing he knew he was flying…
-Break—
Wayle's words were calm and pleasant, his actions were not. Cardin Winchester was flung violently, crashing into the wall with enough force to crack it and send up a cloud of dust.
Blake had seen many facets of Wayle, but this was the first time she saw him use pure physical violence, the first time she felt his rage.
He was furious, and Cardin was in his cross sights. She actually found herself worried for the bully, no matter how poor his character.
Wayle stalked towards the dazed and shocked form of Cardin. It wasn't visible on the outside, but she knew, she saw the signs in him.
"Seems that you did not learn your lesson Cardin." He said as he lifted the bully by the neck with one hand. A dark smirk crept onto his lips. "Seems like I will have to punish you."
A scream passed through Cardin's lips as energy flowed from him.
There was something wrong with it, the whole thing, like it was something that should not exist, should not happen. Cardin's screams of agony echoed through the surroundings and pierced through her heart.
A surge of emotion passed through her, and she moved her battered body.
"Stop! Don't kill him! Wayle!" She shouted as she embraced him from behind.
Cardin's screams subsided as he passed out and Wayle set him down again. She could feel him tremble with barely contained rage. He took several deep breaths.
"Blake… I… I am sorry, he will be fine… Probably…" The last part was just a mumble. He turned around and embraced her. She winced as he unwittingly put pressure on a sore spot.
Wayle started as he noticed this. "Blake, are you hurt? How badly?" Wayle's voice was filled with worry as he panicked slightly.
Blake suppressed a slight laugh at the slightly comical image. "I'll be fine, it's just some bruises…"
"No, it is not just 'some bruises'. Let me help, relax, there will be some discomfort."
Blake was slightly confused at his words even as she saw him focus. Then energy passed through her body, forcing the damages to recover, causing, as he had said, discomfort… and pain. Sometimes he really knew how to make understatements.
As it subsided, Blake found herself slightly drained, but also restored. "Some discomfort you said… an understatement for certain." She gave a smile even as she complained.
Wayle looked slightly sheepish as he scratched his chin. "Sorry, I do not know any other methods of healing others… It is slightly inconvenient at times."
Blake chuckled slightly, causing Wayle to sigh. "On to more pressing matters, Blake, could I ask you to take care of Cardin?" Wayle's eyes became serious.
"Yes, I… suppose… What about you?" Blake asked him hesitantly.
"I will make sure that the others are alright. Things have gotten chaotic out there." As if to emphasise Wayle's words an explosion rung out and the ground shuddered.
Wayle's eyes became concerned as they turned towards the source. "Blake, please, there is no time, and between us I have a better chance to find everyone." He pleaded as he looked into her eyes.
She hesitated for a few seconds, before nodding. She was not happy with the situation, but Wayle was right.
"Thank you. I love you Blake." He pulled her close and held her before letting go and leaping of the edge of the balcony onto a nearby roof.
Her gaze lingered longingly at where he had disappeared before she turned to pick up Cardin and head off herself.

The situation was chaotic, but Latune felt that she started to get a grasp on it. The White Fang was mostly running interference, hitting weaker targets or tying up stronger ones, while the Knights were mostly being left to their own devices.
Whatever control the enemy had over them was lacking, and for the most part they seemed to be running independently, something which even the newer, improved models did poorly in. Of course, that ultimately only affected their tactical ability, not their individual combat ability.
They had proved challenging, but they posed little threat to her, as her familiarity with their combat protocols allowed her to easily predict their actions and stay several steps ahead of them.
She took a moment to survey the surroundings as she found herself in a lull at the moment. A little further off Weiss Schnee was holding her own. She had run into the girl being pressured and held up. She had helped, and for that she had received some thanks from her, but they had had little opportunity to actually talk, as they had been beset again far too quickly.
She had to admit that the Lightsaber was a wondrous weapon, capable off cutting through more or less anything with an ease that still astounded her. It also made her realise just how much Wayle appreciated the Dust chamber built into Gram, well that and probably the fact that when it came down to it, it was just easier to swing.
That was probably the most annoying thing about the weapon, its inertia was greater than one would expect, a result of the energy fields it generated, or something like that, Wayle hadn't been entirely clear on the matter.
She stopped a round aimed for her with the weapon before sending a large piece of metal flying at the offender with her telekinetic abilities.
It did look like things were getting more in hand, but Latune knew better than to relax just yet. And it proved to be a justified thought as a loud noise reached her ears. That sound worried her immensely, for it was the sound of something large falling apart because it was hit by something of comparable size.
And then a sound that was both familiar and at the same time foreign to her. A roaring sound full of hatred, the roar of some kind of Grimm. Yet she had never heard something like that, it was loud, like it came from something large, yet it was nothing like what a King Taijitu sounded like, and that was the largest type of Grimm she had ever seen.
But not the largest in existence.
Latune paled as fear gripped her heart and she jumped up towards a nearby rooftop to get a better view. What greeted her was something very unpleasant, a Goliath had broken through the outer defences in the chaos, and now several more Grimm where following it. The earlier breach may have been bad, but this was catastrophic, smaller Grimm was pouring in, while older ones who had gained a level of intelligence seemed to stay near the breach, some even widening it.
Whatever because they had managed to learn tactics or because they figured that carelessly rushing in beckoned only death she didn't know, but the effect had established a beachhead in the city, and now they were improving on it and guarding it.
Well, maybe they were only widening it due to a desire to destroy human works, although considering they left ruins that was a rather shaky argument. And irrelevant. She quickly shook these thoughts out of her head. The situation had gotten a lot worse just now, and now her priority would be to assist the civilians.
While they had only been in little danger from the White Fang, the Grimm would kill them without remorse or care. A terrified gasp told her that Weiss had joined her and seen what she had seen.

"Please tell me that is part of the plan." The somewhat worried voice of Roman Torchwick could be heard.
"That was… not unexpected… but not part of the plan either." The uncharacteristic hesitation in Cinder Fall's voice told volumes even without her admission that the current situation had not quite been part of her plan.
After all, the Grimm, especially the older ones, were incredibly difficult to predict, much less manipulate. And while she had considered the possibility of the Grimm attacking, she had not really expected Goliaths to show up.
"Well, that is somewhat of a problem. Grimm tend to get in the way when you want to run away." Roman's sarcastic and somewhat unsettled tone revealed his unease about the situation.
"Silence, do you not think that I already know that?"
-Break—
While Roman and Cinder were arguing, she herself was content watching a certain busty blonde desperately fighting several Knights. She had managed to take out several of them by now, but there were still enough of them to pressure her.
Although a neat little manoeuvre allowed her to catch one of them and throw it at another hard enough to shatter both and stagger several others, allowing her to finally gain the initiative and start beating them to pieces.
She really wanted to play with that person, a hint of sadistic and passionate desire causing her to grin fiercely. Unfortunately now wasn't the time, something she was quickly reminded about as Roman and Cinder finished their little argument with Roman being threatened to such a degree that he laid the issue to rest, again.
She gave the delicious prey one last longing look before she followed her leadership. She would have her fun soon enough…
-Break—
This was, she reflected, the second time Wayle had saved her when she really wasn't expecting it. The first time had been when they had gone investigating without him, and he had showed up to stop the second Paladin that had appeared.
This time, actually, was even more unlikely, as he should still have been on a mission elsewhere. Although knowing him, that was probably what he had wanted people to think. She herself had suspected something might happen, but she had let down her guard after the capture of Roman Torchwick.
So it stood to reason that Wayle, who was not only older than her, but also having lived in far more life-threatening circumstances than her, would have been prepared for this to happen. It had struck her as odd when he had left, especially seeing as he and Blake had, at some point, become a couple.
She would have thought he would want to spend time like this with Blake. Therefore, the only reasonable explanation she could get right now was that Wayle had predicted these circumstances and left so that he could surprise his enemies.
Of course, the fact that she was going through that thought even as he saved her from being treacherously eviscerated by a green Kama/Revolver wielded by Emerald, a person she thought was on her side, said a lot about how shocked she was. Speaking of which…
"How could you! Pretending to be someone's friend only to backstab them?!" She shouted angrily at the despicable person.
"I do not think she ever pretended to be your friend Ruby." Wayle deadpanned even as he set her down.
"That's not the point!" She shouted, pouting in an annoyed manner.
"Why! Why are you here! You're supposed to be away!" Emerald's aggravated and somewhat panicked shouting brought their attention to her. "Why did you show up now, just as I was about to get rid of this annoying little brat!"
"Are you certain you have time to stand there shouting at people, Emerald Sustrai?" Wayle said casually, causing the raging girl to stop and look in terror as a mass made up of broken Knights flew towards her with a speed that meant that she couldn't dodge in time.
Author's notes: So what do you think? Is this good, or did I fuck up? It's getting more and more difficult to figure things out I feel. Other than that, feel free to leave suggestions, I might consider them after all, and more ideas mean more stuff, and more stuff means that it might be better! Or, you know, it might just not. I don't know. And now for the game of, who was that that I never mentioned who it actually was. Which you people more or less never play, or mention anything even remotely close to it. Seriously though, more reviews and feedback would be fantastic. Flames are on the other hand not appreciated, although I can't say that I have really seen any of that. Either that or I have denseness similar to that of Orimura Ichika from Infinite Stratos in regards to such.
Whatever, I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
