"Will he be okay?" Blake asked the nurse that she had handed Cardin to. She might not like the guy, but that didn't mean she wished serious damage upon him. And Wayle had been furious when he dealt with Cardin. Even now he was unconscious.
"Hmm… His Aura reserves are very low, almost depleted, and he has some small injuries, but he should at least be able to recover given enough time." The nurse seemed contemplative, and his voice held a sliver of worry. "Thank you for bringing him here Ms. Belladonna, rest assure that we will take good care of Mr. Winchester."
"That is good to hear, with this, I will take my leave. The situation has not yet been resolved, and I feel that there are still things I can do to help." She gave a small polite bow and left the infirmary.
She hurried back towards the city. If it became necessary she would stop Adam herself. After all, she had known him for some time, and as such knew full well that he needed to be stopped, lest he destroy himself and the Faunus.
But something bothered her, Cardin's Aura shouldn't have dropped that low from just that, and even if Wayle had used a power that forced it to continuously defend, the amount of time he used it didn't add up with such severe Aura depletion.
The fact that it had felt so… wrong, only served to strengthen the suspicion that he had used some dark and dangerous power. Blake had to admit that Wayle sometimes scared her, but she knew, she knew that deep within that darkness lay a kind soul. One that she had come to love.
But that knowledge only brought a profound sadness to her, the thought about what might have caused such darkness to suffuse him. She could only hope to give him new happiness. That was the least she could do for him after all.

Emerald covered her face as she braced herself against the impact. And yet it never came. Instead the scrap ball sailed past, split evenly in two as Adam Taurus stood in front of her, sheathing his sword.
Wayle's eyes narrowed as they gazed upon the newcomer. "It has been awhile, Adam Taurus. I wondered when you would come out of the shadows." His voice was cold.
"Wayle Tyran. You're not supposed to be here." Adam said, his voice equally cold. He turned his head to look towards Emerald. "Girl, run, find your master and inform about the situation. I will hold him off."
Emerald immediately turned and ran.
"Hey! I won't let you get away!" Ruby shouted and disappeared in a flurry of rose petals.
Adam started moving to stop her, but stopped as Wayle closed the gap between them.
"I will not let you escape this time, prepare yourself!" Wayle shouted, mostly to secure Adam's attention.
Wayle's wild swing was stopped by Adam's sheath, the force behind it forcing the man back slightly. In response he lashed out with a powerful kick. It was ineffective as Wayle jumped back, avoiding it completely and putting some distance between them.
Immediately several pieces of rubble and scrap were launched towards the Bull Faunus, forcing him to dodge and weave, slicing those projectiles he couldn't avoid apart with quick slashes.
But all that was just a distraction, as Wayle suddenly showed up on Adam's left side while he was still in the process of sheathing. Adam threw himself into a roll, barely evading the blow and slashing out with an attack of his own.
Wayle parried, rolling under the slash to avoid the shot from the sheath as he lashed out with the Force. The sudden shockwave surprised Adam, but he swiftly recovered, adjusting so that he would hit a wall feet first, using the foothold to stop Wayle's follow up.
Using all his might Adam succeeded in sending Wayle flying away, then launching himself off the wall, trying to return the favour.
Except Wayle somehow jumped in mid-air, completely evading him. Adam's head snapped to look up towards his opponent even before he landed again, therefore catching sight of the Dust chamber revolving.
He immediately leapt away as a wave of flames spewed forth from Wayle's sword, slightly singing his coat. With an annoyed tsk Adam charged again, this time reaching his intended target and slashing out several times in a flurry that few would have been able to replicate, much less avoid.
And yet none of them reached their target, either being parried or downright stopped by an invisible barrier. Seeing that his attack had no effect Adam quickly moved away, avoiding the swing that came at him in retaliation.
Stopping, Adam's grip on his sword tightened. Then he charged again, swinging out with one powerful swing this time instead of several weaker ones. This was rewarded with Wayle's eyes widening as the swing came faster than any other Adam had launched before, hitting directly on the chest, sending him flying and causing a small gash to form.
A slight smirk formed on the man's lips as he had managed to draw blood. It quickly disappeared as his instincts caused him to jump away, only barely managing to avoid a powerful shockwave that sent large amounts of debris, including a few vehicles, flying. Then he only barely managed to block a blast of electricity, somehow successfully avoiding electrocution through his Aura's protection.
Even so the blast sent him flying into a wall, this time being unable to recover he hit full on, leaving several cracks as his breath taken by the impact.
Even so he still managed to slice the wave of ice that came at him, causing it to mostly miss him. He then rolled to the side in the last moment to avoid Wayle's sword, slashing out again. Wayle blocked with his sword as his free hand crackled with electricity.
Seeing the danger Adam fired his sheath, causing the electricity to hit the projectile instead, causing a small explosion that forced the two combatants away from each other.
As the dust settled they found themselves staring at each other, carefully awaiting the others next move.
This continued for several seconds before Wayle launched another blast of electricity, this one stronger than the previous ones. Adam blocked it with his sword, causing it to glow and sparkle before Adam charged in, his speed suddenly increasing greatly. Surprised once again, Wayle is forced to block the blow, but it is so powerful that he is sent flying, the shockwave produced by the slash causing the nearby buildings to collapse.

Emerald was being chased by that little brat, and despite her confidence in her skills, she was simply unable to outrun the red haired scythe totting girl.
So she found herself shooting her twin pistols to keep the girl at bay even as she evaded the occasional sniper rifle round that came towards her in retaliation. Of course, even so she was steadily being caught up with.
Who'd have thought that a little girl in a red hood with a gigantic scythe doubling as a sniper rifle would be so damn fast?
Well, Emerald had had a clue about it, but even so it still managed to surprise her. If only that guy hadn't shown up she wouldn't be in this situation, and Cinder probably wouldn't have scolded her.
She grimaced slightly at the thought as she fired of a few quick rounds at her pursuer. This was getting her nowhere, at this rate she would lead the annoying pipsqueak to Cinder, and she couldn't do that, as that would definitively earn her a scolding.
Quickly turning she sent a sudden kusari-gama flying at her opponent, hoping to catch her off guard and severely injure her. It almost worked, but in the last moment the girl managed to fire a round, sending her off to the side and away from the attack.
Wasting no time Emerald launched the other kusari-gama, but her target evaded it all the while closing in. As the distance shrank Emerald retracted the chains, trying to eviscerate Ruby from behind, but the little girl managed to twirl her scythe in such a manner that they were deflected before launching herself one last time, closing the gap and trying to hit Emerald with a sweeping strike.
Emerald simply summersaulted above the little girl, trying to hit her with her kamas as she did so. Except that her opponent simply shrank together and spun around once again, almost hitting her with the small sharp blade attached to the end of Crescent Rose, forcing her to twist around that before the actual scythe blade came towards her, forcing her to use her weapons in a cross-block to receive it, sending her flying.
She crashed straight through the roof of a building, leaving a gaping hole in it as well as ruining someone's bed.
As Ruby prepared to jump after the green haired gal, a familiar screech could be heard prompting her to look up into the skies… only to lay eyes on a Giant Nevermore swooping towards her.

They were putting up a valiant effort in stemming the tide of Grimm that poured towards the local hospital, which was serving as a sort of evacuation point. Meaning that there were a lot of people there right now.
Certainly there were a large number of Atlesian soldiers and a few Hunters as well, but if the Grimm trying to get past them got there they would be overrun. That had been Latune's judgement on the situation, and as such she had decided to stall them.
Weiss had decided to help, and as such they found themselves stopping a veritable tide of Grimm. But while they may be capable individuals, there was only so much they could do.
In short, they were getting overwhelmed, a number of stronger, more intelligent Grimm having decided to target them, and that proved to be more than they could handle.
Latune winced as a Beowulf claw grazed her, drawing blood. She was getting tired, and there were simply too many enemies. A quick spin and slash decapitated the offending beast, buying Latune enough time to check on Weiss.
She was visibly exhausted, and, while she was only fighting lesser Grimm since Latune was keeping the others occupied, their numbers were simply starting to take their toll.
Latune considered her options. They could retreat, withdrawing to recuperate. But that meant that the hospital would be overrun, possibly leading to the death of thousands. They could stay and fight till they dropped, but that didn't particularly appeal to her.
She looked down at a pouch that hung on her belt. She might have to use that. The problem was that she had no actual idea what it would do, nor did she know if she could actually use it. Sure, Wayle had taught her how, but since she never had any opportunity to try, she was uncertain whatever or not she could use it properly.
Second, if it was to solve their problems it would have to hit them as well. And while they should be fine as long as they have Aura or some similar defence, Weiss' Aura was getting dangerously low.
She would just have to gamble, it was better than nothing after all.
She reached into her pouch and pulled out a dark red Dust crystal. Of course, it wasn't just any Dust crystal, it was one that Wayle had put together using Alchemy, meaning that it would behave differently from how one would expect it to do.
She chucked it into the air even as she leapt over to where Weiss was and reached into the crystal with the Force. There, as Wayle had said there would, was a glyph graved into it through the Force. Reaching out to it Latune willed the glyph to activate, causing the crystal to shatter violently.
And when Dust crystals shattered spectacular things happened.
In this case, flames spread out, devouring the Grimm caught in them. Latune quickly put up a Barrier even as the flames washed over them, protecting them from it.
But the blast was fiercer than she had expected, and the Barrier didn't quite hold, shattering and knocking the two girls out cold as Dust particles floated in the air.
Author's notes:Well this was interesting to write, it really looks like things are heating up! If you liked it, do tell in a review, and if you have any suggestions you want to leave, don't hesitate to do so. Also, if you think I have made any mistakes, feel free to tell me. I do listen after all. Kinda. Maybe... sometimes?
Other than that I have also been considering writing a new story, and have to ideas contending for being put down into writing. One is more RWBY, and the other involves Infinite Stratos, and both are crossovers with Super Robot Wars (more specifically the Original Generations part of the franchise), which, for those who are unfamiliar with it, is a game series somewhat similar to the Fire Emblem games but with humongous mecha instead (my profile pic comes from those games). And neither of these will include OCs, because, well, that is not part of the concept this time around.
Anyway, do give feedback on your opinions and I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
