Wayle wasn't sure if he was amused… or concerned. Sure, Weiss and Ruby looked absolutely adorable as they sat there with their eyes downcast and faces as red as… a synthetic red lightsaber crystal's blade?

That seemed better when he first considered it…

"So… You were suddenly overwhelmed by desire? That sounds…" Wayle queried the embarrassed heiress, mostly because he wanted her to respond in the negative. 'Familiar.' Came an unbidden thought.

That really shouldn't be the case… Then again… what did he know? What did he actually understand about this world?

Not enough he realised unhappily.

Weiss nodded in response, unwilling to voice a response.

"What happened when you were knocked unconscious? Do you remember?" He decided to probe the surrounding events.

Wayle felt movement next to him as Blake shifted slightly, worried by Wayle's sudden interest in the situation.

'She probably feels that me getting worried about something is a cause for concern. Cannot blame her for that, can I?' Wayle did after all possess knowledge that the girls simply couldn't, and he doubted they could accurately predict his thinking.

Although Blake did seem to have become quite sensitive to his emotional state, even when he was supressing it.

He chalked it up to the intuitive powers of a girl in love… or something along those lines.

Yang sat behind the two blushing girls, torn between conflicting emotions.

"I think… Latune pulled out a Dust Crystal…" Weiss tried to recall the events. "And then it exploded… I think Latune protected us from the worst of it, but the blast was fiercer than any I had seen before, and we were knocked unconscious. At least, that is what I suspect happened, it's a little bit fuzzy…"

"I see…" Wayle contemplated the information.

It sounded like Latune had used one of the Alchemy altered crystals, which meant that it was infused with the Dark Side…

Could it have affected Weiss somehow?

He had gained started suspecting a minor level of sensitivity in the Aura users, but he was quite frankly still uncertain about the veracity of that theory.

It would on the other hand explain some things…

"Umm… Wayle?" Ruby sounded a bit worried as she spoke up.

"I see no reason for concern right now." Wayle decided to attempt to alleviate her fears. "More importantly… will this affect your ability to work as a team, Ruby, Weiss?" Wayle then decided to move on to something he thought was quite important, the integrity of team RWBY.

He had after all grown rather fond of them, and he would hate to see their relationship ruined because of something he had a hand in… Might have wanted to keep that in mind earlier…

"Umm…" Weiss looked a bit uncertain, eyes flicking around the room.

"It…" Ruby suddenly moved in and wrapped her arms around her partner tenderly. "It'll be okay…" Wayle chuckled amusedly as Weiss blush returned after having settled. Wayle suspected she was recalling earlier events…

He pointedly ignored that glint in Ruby's eyes…

He'll have to give them some time to themselves. They seemed like they might need it, and he did have business to attend to.

Yes… there was much that needed doing…

"Why!?" Cinder seethed with anger. "Why was he there!?"

"He must have finished his mission far quicker than we anticipated." Adam stated coldly. "We haven't been able to contact the group sent to stall him, so it would be prudent to assume them dead or captured."

"Do you mean to say he finished the mission in record time and then immediately returned when he was unable to contact Beacon?! No one acts that quickly!" Cinder nearly screeched as she continued fuming.

"Maybe so, but that assumes he carried out his original mission in the first place." Roman calmly stated, lighting a cigar.

"What do you mean?" Adam questioned the criminal mastermind.

Unfazed by the bull Faunus' harsh glare he continued smugly. "I mean, that this reeks of treachery. If he was informed of the true identity of his so called 'mission', he would have been able to finish much quicker than is reasonable."

"Are you saying someone in the White Fang betrayed us?" Cinder said lowly in a dangerous tone.

"Presumably, don't know anyone else who would have known about our plans. Besides, I managed to get information indicating that the Mayor and Head of Police both died recently. Coinciding with 'his' time there." Roman simply continued, uncharacteristically calm in the face of his employer.

"The White Fang listens to me, they wouldn't-"Adam began, slightly miffed, but was cut off.

"Because no one has ever left the White Fang and joined its enemies… Oh wait, wasn't there a certain kitty that left it a while ago? The older members of the White Fang were getting increasingly unhappy with the situation. It's a miracle more didn't leave after her." The bowler-hat wearing criminal grinned mockingly.

Adam gritted his teeth angrily as he glared at Roman through his mask. Far from backing off, he instead returned the glare with a leer, his body language saying: "Bring it on."

"Stop this, both of you!" Cinder stepped between the two, sending harsh glares at the orange-haired man. "Adam, see how well you can reconsolidate the White Fang. Bolster their numbers if necessary."

The addressed took a small step back and straightened out. "Already in progress from the moment we arrived."

"Good. Roman." The fiery woman then turned towards the more troublesome one. "I want you to use your contacts to figure out what happened. Oh, and while you're at it, why don't you try to get rid of our biggest problem." She instructed him.

"I would love to, but you see, I have things to attend to that requires that I leave." Roman said seriously.

"What?" Cinder said curtly, a clear hint of anger in her voice.

"Oh, who am I kidding?! I'm leaving! I'm sick and tired of these continuous failures and hindrances! No pay is worth this!" Roman then exclaimed loudly, gesticulating to show his displeasure even more clearly.

"You…!" Cinder made to grab the offensive person in anger, only for his visage to shatter like a mirror, leaving no trace of the man.

"Did he just…" Mercury spoke up for the first time since they had started their previous conversation.

Said grey haired youth then had to live up to his name as he escaped the infuriated woman's fiery outburst.

Ozpin and Glynda had been somewhat surprised when he had requested some timber fit for a pyre. He had already mystified them enough when he had denied them Amara's body, although they did let him do as he pleased.

They had then followed him as he carried his former rival, team RWBY helping carry the wood, while team JNPR had started following as well. Behind them followed the teachers, as well as General Ironwood as well as Penny. Latune walked by his side, carrying a few items.

Wayle had not stopped them, while he felt it was somewhat private, at the same time he didn't really care if they watched or not. Besides, some of them were helping.

By the time he had reached his intended spot, one that they had allowed him to use after he had made clear what he intended, the procession had grown slightly more, curious people having followed from a distance.

Slowly he set up a pyre, teams RWBY and JNPR assisting, carefully setting the wood on a plinth that had stood at that location for a long time. Once the wood had been prepared properly he solemnly lay Amara upon it.

He stepped away and said a few words in Sith that only he understood, using the softer aspects of the language (rare though they may be). Then he stood in a few moments of silence, reminiscing about the time they spent together.

A small grimace settled onto his face, they weren't the best of his memories, but they still held an inkling of value to him. No one near him said a word, although he could faintly hear murmuring further away.

To his side Latune offered him the items she held, and he slowly took a torch from amongst them, Yang helpfully igniting it. He gave her a slightly questioning look before he brought it to the wood, igniting the kindling.

He then took a step back as the flames quickly spread throughout the pyre, enveloping the dead Sith within. He then stood and watched as the flames ran their course, probably just standing there for a long time, not caring for awareness of its passing.

He was aware that people started leaving, some leaving a few words and others simply walking away, their curiosity sated. Slowly their numbers thinned until only the original procession remained.

"So, cremation. Is it a tradition or simply the easiest way?" Ozpin asked curiously as he stepped up, his mug conspicuous in its absence.

"Both. It was either that, or wrap her carefully in an elaborate burial shroud before interring her body in a tomb. Built specifically for her." Wayle said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice even as it was sincere.

"I see. And? Now what?" Ozpin responded in his usual tone.

"Now, I take a while to get things in order. Then I will continue along my chosen path." Wayle said simply, a ghost of a smile adorning his features for but a few moments.

Ozpin eyed the youth suspiciously, but said nothing. He had no proof, no reason to actually suspect him all that much. Certainly there were aspects about his involvement in recent events that were odd, but with no proof of unsavoury conduct there was little to nothing he could do.

So instead he left.

"Tomb?" Came Yang's questioning voice.

"Yes, building a tomb was the other option. Needless to say, there is neither time nor space for that right now. So I cremated her." Wayle said dryly.

"I get the feeling there is a reason why those two are the only options you considered." Weiss said contemplatively.

"Perhaps, perhaps it was just said in jest." The Sith responded dismissively.

"I still find it hard to believe she is gone." Jaune said, moving up to the group closest to the now smouldering pyre.

"And yet she is, in the end dying exactly the way she once said she would." Wayle said, a tinge of sorrow entering his voice.

"Did she foresee her own death?" Latune asked, the only other present realising that seeing the future was possible (if a bit unreliable).

"I do not think so, I would rather say that she predicted that this would be the way our rivalry would end, with her dying by my hand." He sighed. "I actually took a bit of pride in denying her prediction. In not killing her." He chuckled darkly. "Truly the flipside of bonds…"

He took one last look at the ashes, nothing remaining that might suggest a body had lain there before. He steeled his resolve. The situation might actually be worse than he thought…

Author's notes: So yeah, I'll apologise to any who might have felt discomfort at the previous chapter... Oh well, that's how I wanted the story to progress. So, did anybody actually see this coming? No? Yes? And, most importantly, was this chapter any good? Really, I don't care if you have bugger all to actually say, it's still really nice with reviews. Apart from that one type of reviews, but that is probably not something I need to actually say... I hope.

I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
