Chapter 7: The Forces of Light
Narrator: Akira slammed into a nearby tree.
Akira: (W-where am I now? Ruby... Weiss... Blake... Yang... Qrow... I failed them... I failed them all... )
Narrator: Tears fell from Akira's eyes.
Akira: GRAAAAH!
Narrator: Akira's sadness turned into absolute rage. His skin turning darker and his eyes a dark red. Tears still falling from Akira's face.
?: Stop!
Narrator: Akira turned to a boy wielding a key-shaped blade.
Akira: Who... are you?
Narrator: At that moment... Akira passed out. Hours later... Akira slowly opened his eyes to see the same boy over him but with some other people beside him.
?: Hey! Are you okay?
Akira: Yeah... I'm okay... Who... are you?
Sora: My name is Sora. Who are you?
Akira: Akira. Akira Shirogane.
Sora: What was that form you were in?
Akira: Form? I don't know what-
Narrator: At that moment... Akira stared down at the floor, tears falling from his eyes.
Akira: I was angry that I couldn't save my closest friends from being captured...
Sora: Hey... it'll be okay. I'll help you find your friends.
Akira: You... will?
Sora: Of course. Plus... you look like you could use the help.
Akira: Thank you... Sora.
Sora: Do you know where your friends are right now?
Akira: That's the thing, I don't know where they were taken.
Sora: This is going to be difficult then. Still, try to imagine where they were taken. It helps.
Akira: Okay. I'll give it a shot.
Narrator: Akira closed his eyes and attempted to imagine where Ruby and the others were taken. All Akira can see is Ruby and the others chained up and knocked out cold.
Akira: I have an idea on where they are but... the vision is very fuzzy.
Sora: I'm sure it will come back to you in time.
?: Is he feeling better?
Narrator: A tall boy with silver hair walked up to Sora and Akira.
Sora: Yeah. He's feeling better, Riku.
Riku: That's good.
Akira: Sorry for worrying you.
Riku: You were passed out for a while. It's a good thing we were in the area when you passed out. Otherwise... the Heartless will corrupt your heart.
Akira: Heartless?
Sora: They are these dark creatures that go around stealing other people's hearts.
Akira: What!?
Riku: Yeah. We fight the Heartless and restore light to all the worlds.
Akira: I see. But those blades you wield... what are they?
Narrator: Akira pointed to the blades that Sora and Riku were holding.
Sora: This is a Keyblade. We use these to defeat the Heartless. You have one also, Akira. Look
Narrator: Akira stares at his two swords and noticed that their forms were changed.
Akira: Tsubasa, Tengu!
Narrator: Tsubasa and Tengu reverted to their spirit forms. Sora and Riku stepped back a bit.
Sora: Are they Heartless?
Akira: No. They are my allies from the world I came from. They can turn into weapons that I can imagine.
Riku: That's cool.
Sora: I'll say. You must be a Keyblade Master!
Akira: A what?
Riku: A Keyblade Master. A Mark of Mastery must be taken for one to gain that title.
Akira: I see. And I assume you are a Keyblade Master?
Riku: As a matter of fact, I am.
Akira: And what about you, Sora.
Sora: No...
Narrator: Sora stared at the ground with a sad look on his face.
Riku: Sora failed his Mastery Exam.
Akira: I see... How about you and I take the Mastery Exam, Sora?
Sora: Wait... what? Why would you want to take the Exam?
Akira: I aim to get stronger to protect those I care about. I know it's the same for you, Sora.
Sora: You're right. I have friends that depend on me.
Narrator: Akira began to smile. Tsubasa and Tengu began to glow.
Sora: What's going on, Akira?
Narrator: Tsubasa and Tengu began to change forms.
Akira: Because my bonds with them are strong it allows them to evolve and get stronger.
Tsubasa: Thanks to you Akira, I was able to transcend to a higher level of power. I am now... Bushinryu!
Tengu: And I am Kazehana. Our bonds with Akira have strengthened us to higher heights.
Akira: Bushinryu... Kazehana... I can feel your power. It's amazing!
Bushinryu: We will always remain by your side, Akira.
Kazehana: That's right. We are a part of your family.
Sora: This is awesome! I'm sure you'll ace the Mastery Exam for sure, Akira.
Akira: So, who do we go to take this exam?
Riku: I believe you want to talk to Yen Sid.
Akira: And how do I get to meet this Yen Sid?
Sora: We can take you to him so you can start the Exam.
Akira: Alright. Lead the way.
Sora: Alright. In the Gummi Ship then!
Riku: I'll stay behind. Make sure things are fine here. I'll catch up with you later.
Sora: Alright, Riku. Akira, hop in the Gummi Ship!
Akira: Gummi... Ship?
Sora: Yeah! That's how we travel from world to world.
Akira: Interesting. Then let's go!
Narrator: Sora and Akira went inside the Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship blasted off into a portal.
Akira: So... this Yen Sid person. What's he like?
Sora: He's really kind, but can also be very stern. He might know something about your friends that went missing.
Akira: I hope so.
Narrator: At that moment the Gummi Ship landed next to a large tower.
Sora: We've arrived at Yen Sid's Tower.
Akira: Amazing. It happened so fast I didn't even notice.
Sora: You will get used to it. Anyways, let's go meet Yen Sid!
Akira: Okay!
Narrator: Akira and Sora walked inside the tower where a tall elderly man was waiting for them.
Sora: Master Yen Sid!
Akira: Master?
Sora: Yup. Yen Sid is a Keyblade Master.
Akira: He doesn't seem to look the part.
Yen Sid: I assure you in my younger days I was quite the strong Keyblade Master. Now that I'm older... I take time teaching others. By the way... Sora, who is this young man? He doesn't appear to be from any world I recognize.
Sora: Oh, right! His name is-
Akira: Akira Shirogane. It's an honor to meet you, Yen Sid.
Narrator: At that moment, Akira began to explain to Yen Sid of the events that have transpired up till recently.
Yen Sid: I see. So, you are trying to find your friends and save them from this "Galeem". Am I correct?
Akira: Yes, sir.
Yen Sid: And you believe that by undergoing the Mark of Mastery exam will help you defeat this entity?
Akira: Hopefully. If not... all worlds that Galeem goes too... are pretty much doomed. And there is something else I saw... before I arrived here and met Sora and Riku.
Yen Sid: What did you see?
Akira: I saw another entity... but it was different from Galeem. It embodies darkness... And all I heard was a name... "Dharkon". I think there is going to be a humongous war between Dharkon and Galeem... and we are merely going to be pawns in their war.
Yen Sid: It's possible that you can see in the distant future. Or to be simply put, a vision of what could possibly happen in the future.
Akira: Perhaps. Still... I'm not going to sit around and let that happen. I'm going to help save this world and others.
Yen Sid: Well said.
Narrator: Yen Sid snapped his fingers and a briefcase appeared on the table.
Yen Sid: If you are going to face the darkness ahead, here is a little something to help you.
Narrator: Akira picked up the briefcase and placed it on his back.
Akira: Thank you, Master Yen Sid.
Narrator: Akira opened the briefcase. Inside, was a brand-new set of clothes.
Akira: Cool, a nice set of clothes.
Yen Sid: These clothes are enhanced with magic properties and new abilities. But you will have to discover them on your own in your journey.
Akira: Cool. I'll put them on.
Yen Sid: Once you touch them, they'll automatically appear on you.
Akira: Alright then.
Narrator: Akira tapped the clothes, and they appeared on his body instantly. Akira was now wearing a blue jacket with black pants and yellow sneakers.
Akira: Woah... That's fast.
Yen Sid: I trust you like your new uniform?
Akira: Yeah. I like it. It has that "fresh" look to it.
Narrator: At that moment... the sky grew dark.
Sora: What's going on?
Akira: Crap... They found us.
Yen Sid: Get to the Gummi Ship, quickly!
Akira: I'm not leaving you behind!
Yen Sid: I don't think you have much of a choice. Go, now!
Akira: ….. Fine. But you better lay low somewhere safe. Galeem captures those of great importance.
Yen Sid: If I fall into Galeem's clutches... you know what you must do.
Akira: Yeah. I understand.
Narrator: Sora and Akira jumped in the Gummi Ship and flew off at a rapid speed.
Akira: So, Sora. Where are we going?
Sora: I'm going to help you save the other worlds beyond ours.
Akira: Alright. Just be prepared for anything.
Sora: I will.
Akira: What about your friend, Riku?
Sora: Riku can take care of himself. I'm sure he will evade Galeem's clutches. As well as the others.
Akira: Your friends, I'm assuming?
Sora: Yeah. Riku, Kairi, King Mickey, Donald, Goofy and many others that are close to me. I owe it to them for everything up until now.
Akira: Same. I have my family in my world waiting for me. And I want to protect them and those I care for.
Narrator: The Gummi Ship flew into a giant vortex, disappearing instantly.
