A/N: This one was heavily brought to you because of Visser2315's reimagined Eclipse, so thank them! I had no idea how to structure Royal's story, since I knew that his and Rosalie's were very different.

Without further ado, Royal Hale…

INT. DINING ROOM, HALE HOUSE, ROCHESTER, NY, 1933

A long dining table sits in the center of the room with chairs around it. ROYAL HALE sits at the table. He is a very tall, handsome teenage boy who is haughty and vain. He has long blond hair. ROYAL'S MOTHER and ROYAL'S FATHER are there, along with ROYAL'S SISTER 1 and ROYAL'S SISTER 2. Father and Mother are both blond and middle-aged. Sister 1 and Sister 2 are also blond and quite young, about ten to twelve. They all are eating lunch. Text on screen reads:

Royal Lawrence Hale

Rochester, NY

1933

ROYAL (V.O.)
I had everything - I was the son of a banker who, though we were technically only middle class, had money enough that we didn't suffer from the Depression like many others. I was never troubled by the poor I saw in the streets - they had brought it upon themselves, so my father often said. So long as my mother and my two sisters were well cared for, as they were, I wasn't troubled unduly.

EXT. STREETS – DAY

Royal walks down the sidewalk. Several YOUNG WOMEN turn to look at him when he passes.

ROYAL (V.O.)
I was the envy of all the other men in town - I was strong as they came, no one dared pick a fight with me. Women wanted me. They positively clamored for my attention. I was a fool. A peacock enamored with my own fine looks and strength. I was determined to marry wealth and status - I didn't doubt I possessed all the charm I could ever need to win over any woman I set my eye on. I wanted to be powerful, I wanted to be known. I meant to own property and have a large house cared for by servants. In other words - I was looking to be a king.

INT. MAIN SQUARE – DAY

PEOPLE crowd the square, including Royal. VICK THOMAS holds BABY HARRIET in his arms, and VICK'S WIFE stands right next to him. Harriet has curly brown hair. ROWENA KING, ROYCE KING, and MRS. KING, who all pose in front of flashing cameras.

ROYAL (V.O.)
Rowena King. She was the daughter of the man who owned the local bank. They were about as close to royalty as our city had. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I set my sights on her, and from that day I did everything I could to woo her. If I were to marry Rowena, I would take over the bank after her father. For her father's part, he seemed to like me very much - I had the looks, a face that would be more than suitable for the next bank president. I looked like her perfect match, and that was enough for me to be everything he could want for his precious daughter. And for her part, she seemed happy at my attentions, too.

PAN TO:

Vick, Harriet, and Vick's wife.

ROYAL (V.O.; CONT'D)
Among my crowd of usual associates, there was one who was a little different from the others. Vick Thomas, a couple years older than I, and about as plain a man as there ever was. He was often compared to me in jest - while I was graceful as a lion, he'd always been a little duckfooted. When he married a poor girl from out west, we all laughed at his expense. However, once, almost a year after his marriage, during which time he hadn't crossed my mind once, he was with his wife, and she had a baby in her arms. The sight was enough to send my thoughts shooting in a new direction, and I realized that I envied the friend we had all so ridiculed and despised. I still relished all the glory and attention, but I also realized I wanted a family of my own. I wanted to have a household to care for, a beautiful wife, and a child in her arms, a boy who I would show how to be a man. Or perhaps a girl who would be as beautiful as her mother, who I would shelter, and would look to me for safety and protection. In Rowena, I knew I'd have everything I ever wanted - she would be the wife I dreamed of and she would make me a king. Soon I would have my family, too.

INT. BANK

TELLERS sit behind counters. Behind them, Royal walks back and forth, watching as they do their work. Rowena stands off to one side. She glances around to make sure no one's watching her, then exits through a door.

EXT. ALLEYWAY – DAY

The alley is bright, but covered in grime. A MOB BOSS leans against the building. Rowena walks over to him, and they kiss.

ROWENA
When is it going to happen?

MOB BOSS
Soon. Don't worry, we'll be together eventually.

Mob Boss and Rowena laugh.

ROWENA
He won't see it coming.

INT. FRONT ROOM, VICK'S HOUSE

Vick and Vick's wife stand by the door. Vick's wife holds Harriet in her arms. Royal is about to leave. When Royal isn't looking, Vick kisses his Wife on the cheek.

VICK
Will I see you tomorrow, Royal?

ROYAL
Yes, I suppose you will.

Royal smiles and leaves.

EXT. STREETS – NIGHT

Royal walks down the dark street, agitated. A MINION, one of the Mob Boss' associates, passes by Royal. Royal nods slightly to him, but keeps walking. The Minion grabs a loose cinderblock from the side of the road and turns around, now following Royal. Minion catches up to Royal and hits him on the head with the cinderblock. Royal is knocked out.

CUT TO:

INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE

The room is mostly empty, save two concrete pillars. Royal is chained to them, each hand to either pillar. He is now shirtless. The Mob Boss stalks behind him, holding a baseball bat. Rowena stands in the corner. Royal opens his eyes, struggling to do so.

ROWENA
Well, well. If it isn't my dull-witted, fool of a fiancé.

ROYAL
(struggling)
Row –

ROWENA
Well. We certainly can't have this - we can't have Royal Hale spreading nasty rumors about me to my father, and around town. What would they think?

MOB BOSS
So what should we do, love?

ROWENA
Mmm. I suppose you'll have to take care of it. Really, Father will be disappointed. But I prefer it this way. Even to pretend to love such an empty-headed, arrogant fool of a man was such a burden.

Mob Boss lifts Royal chin with the end of the baseball bat.

MOB BOSS
We're going to have some fun.

The Mob Boss swings the bat at Royal's ribs.

CUT TO:

EXT. STREETS – NIGHT

Carine walks down the street, her nurse uniform covered by her coat. She has a wedding ring on her left ring finger. Carine catches a scent in the air, then turns a corner and begins running.

INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE

Royal sits in the chains, bleeding and bruised. No one else is around. Carine runs in and tears the chains free from the stone [inhuman strength]. She picks him up, trying not to damage him.

INT. HALLWAY, CULLEN HOUSE

The hallway is bare except for a few paintings, a single door, and a carpet. Royal's SCREAMS are heard from inside a room.

ROYAL (V.O.)
Carine sat with me. She held my hand and said that she was sorry, promising that it would end. She told me everything, and sometimes I listened. She told me what she was, what I was becoming. I didn't believe her. She apologized each time I screamed.

INT. BEDROOM

A bed sits pushed up against one wall, a chair next to it. Royal lays on the bed, in clear pain. Carine, Edythe, and Earnest stand near the door. Edythe's eyes are gold again, and Earnest has a different wedding ring on.

EDYTHE
This was a mistake, Carine. Royal Hale?

CARINE
I couldn't simply leave him there to die. It was too terrible – too much of a waste.

EARNEST
Of course you couldn't. You did the right thing.

EDYTHE
People die all the time. And Royal Hale is too recognizable. The Kings will search for him - not that anyone will suspect the daughter had anything to do with it. If anyone deserves to disappear...

CARINE
Please, Edythe. Let's not have that kind of talk.

EDYTHE
What are we going to do with him?

CARINE
That's up to him, of course. He may want to go his own way. It will be his choice.

ROYAL (V.O.)
But I didn't. I wanted to stay with them.

EXT. CULLEN HOUSE, SIX MONTHS LATER - DAY

The day is cloudy. Edythe exits in the house, locking the door behind her. She walks down the street. Royal exits the house, running up behind Edythe. His eyes are gold. Text on screen reads:

six months later

ROYAL
Edythe, wait up!

EDYTHE
What do you want?

ROYAL
Do you know anything about revenge?

Edythe stops and turns toward Royal.

EDYTHE
I'm listening.

EXT. WEDDING SHOP – NIGHT

Edythe is kneeling down by the lock, trying to pick it. Royal stands behind her, his arms crossed.

ROYAL
I'm still confused about what we're doing.

EDYTHE
You wanted it to be dramatic.

ROYAL
Yeah, so?

Edythe turns back to look at Royal.

EDYTHE
I'm the queen of dramatic.

Edythe pushes the door open, then stands.

EDYTHE (CONT'D)
It's showtime.

Edythe enters the building, Royal a step behind her.

INT. HALLWAY, KING MANOR

The lights are off. Rowena walks inside and flicks on the lights. Royal stands in a white suit, holding the dead body of the Mob Boss by his hair. Royal drops the body at Rowena's feet. She SCREAMS.

INT. FRONT ROOM, CULLEN HOUSE

Carine and Earnest stand in front of the front door. Carine paces back and forth.

CARINE
Where are they?

Edythe and Royal enter through the front door.

EDYTHE
Getting revenge, that sort of thing.

EARNEST
The population count is down, isn't it?

ROYAL
(to Edythe)
Also, you were completely right. Dramatic is way more fun.

EDYTHE
It always is.

CARINE
Well, we should probably look for another place to live.

A/N: I had a very clear vision for this one after getting the basic idea, so it was nice to get it down in words. Also, I always imagined that Rosalie/Royal and Edward/Edythe would work together on the whole revenge murder plot and that's when they bonded as siblings. But what do I know?

One more Cullen left, the gorgeous Eleanor McCarty!
