Blake had poured the rest of the day into deciphering and comprehending as much of Wayle's journal as possible. And now she thought she might have gotten somewhere.

Sure, the alphabet that Amara had provided could be more or less directly translated into theirs, but not only had Wayle used a different script, he had also used a completely different language. One that, if she understood his earliest notes correctly, was the language of the Sith.

But there was a section early on where Wayle had made a comprehensive and in-depth study, mainly centred upon what seemed to be some kind of… poem?

Okay, let's see what she gets here.

Nwûl tash.

Okay… something about peace and lie it seemed? Peace is a lie?

That sounds… familiar…

Dzwol shâsotkun.

There is only… passion?

Yeah, she's heard this before…

Shâsotjontû châtsatul nu tyûk.

Through… is that a variant on passion? I gain strength?

Oh… It's the code of the Sith then…

Tyûkjontû châtsatul nu midwan.

So this would be… Through strength I gain power… right?

Midwanjontû châtsatul nu asha.

So châtsatul means to get or to attain then?

Also, this language is harsh… Is this what people think when they say Black speak?

Off topic. Better get back to this so I can finish before... everyone goes… asleep…

Looking up the Faunus girl found that night had long fallen and only the night guard was present in the library. Yeah, everyone should be asleep by now.

Before everyone wakes up then.

Where was she?

Right… translation… Through power I gain victory.

Ashajontû kotswinot itsu nuyak.

And this would then be the last line: Through victory my chains are broken…

Wait, there's one more line.

So it was incomplete!

Let's try to get to the bottom of this one then.

Wonoksh Qyâsik nun.

The Force… shall… free me?

That makes sense as to why he didn't mention it, it means nothing to the people of Remnant.

She read through the thing again.

Wait… Oh, wonderful, the translation contains more words than the actual text… Then does that mean that there are a number of words taken for granted, like how some languages of old actually decided that everyone should know that obviously this way to write a word means I did something while that way to write the same word means you did something.

This might take a while…

The only reason she even understood this was because Wayle had already provided a translation, as well as a transcription to help with pronunciation.

Does that mean he can speak that language? Maybe…

Actually… Didn't he swear in a manner similar to this one?

So instead of swearing in his mother-tongue he swears in the language of the Sith?

Wait… if the Sith is an order…? Then why would they have an entire language named after the order?

Unless… Might there be more to the Sith than that?

She glanced at the journal, lazily letting her eyes wander over the harsh script of the Sith.

No! Bad Blake! Get some sleep! It's late! The moon has passed its peak already!

A quick double check on her scroll told her that, yes, it is late. Three in the morning to be exact…

She stifled a big yawn.

Yup. Time to sleep.

-Break—

As Blake plopped down on her bed, she noticed that Yang was not there.

But, just as she was starting to wonder where she was, the door opened cautiously and a tussled mop of blond hair showed up as the person in question snuck in.

She looked like she had been through some kind of harrowing experience, and a profound tiredness could be seen in her eyes.

Of course, that could just be because of the late hour but still.

Another thing Blake noticed was that her clothes were slightly out of order, almost as if they had been removed and then put back on hastily.

But surely that wasn't-

Wait… why is Yang not wearing any underwear?

"Ouka, Aureus, err… Captain?"

Said bear of a man simply waved it off with: "It's fine."

He cleared his throat.

"Yes… Felis and Roland. Good, you are all here."

"My Liege, may I inquire as to why you have gathered us?" Roland, a man with greying hair and beard asked in an elderly, regal tone.

He nodded.

"I have found the last remaining White Fang hideouts. But it seems they are pressing into the Atlas holdings, and if left to their own devices for much longer might gain more strength. As such, I have decided that we should strike, for right now they are still dedicated to their campaign in the north, but once they finish there they will turn towards us."

"Finally. They should have been stopped long ago." The Captain said in agreement. "And? Who are we sending?"

"Apart from myself and Latune. Luna's men will serves as scouts, while you Captain will lead the main troop." Wayle looked amongst the people gathered as they were seated in a conference room.

Well, the room still lacked furnishings beyond the great table and a bunch of chairs, but that was what it was supposed to be.

"Ouka, Aureus. You will stay and manage our holdings."

"Yes my Master." "Of course my Lord." Their voices echoed as both spoke at the same time.

"Roland, I will leave a few Paladins with you. I trust you can keep the town safe until we return?"

The elderly man smiled. "I may have aged, but my experience will serve where my body cannot my Liege. I swear upon my name as 'The Paladin'."

"Thank you. I feel reassured when you put it like that. Just try to not get yourself killed doing something beyond you." The young Sith smiled as well.

"I'm afraid I cannot make any promises."

"Then I will just have to make do with your promise to protect this place."

Roland. His last name was not known to Wayle, but the man's reputation as a Huntsman that fought for the weak and innocent, aiding settlements and travellers, that he did know. It was thanks to this that he was known as 'The Paladin' and rumour had it that he was close friends with Peter Port of Beacon academy, although Wayle didn't pry and Roland never talked about it.

Apparently he had joined as he felt that Wayle was a just individual, willing to take action were the government would not.

The man himself hadn't said much on the subject, although he did admit that he could see that there was darkness in his new Liege, but that such was to be expected, and that he admired Wayle all the more for overcoming his darkness to aid others.

Wayle couldn't complain. That man was the kind of people he needed, someone who could be counted on to do his utmost to protect everyone, and who could be trusted to disagree with unjust actions.

Seriously… to think he liked having the man around because he could be used as a moral compass…

"Any questions?" He asked, ending his small reminiscence.

No one spoke up.

"Good. Start preparations. We will leave as soon as everything is ready. Felis, have your scouts move ahead and gather intelligence on our foes."

Sounds of affirmation resounded through the room as several people rose from their chairs at once.

"My Lord, may I have a word?" Unexpectedly, Aureus approached and asked him this question.

"That is fine." Wayle nodded.

"Yes. You see my Lord, I recently looked through a large number of documents, and I found that there is, apart from the underground storage we have already appropriated, also an old abandoned factory that used to belong to the Vale military… before they were disbanded in favour of Atlesian support and the use of Hunters."

"I see… And, can it be used?"

"I believe so my Lord. The council probably won't be able to say anything because technically it belongs to this town, and with the right supplies and workers it should become usable again. It might take a while, and we might need some Hunters just in case, but I most certainly believe you could make use of it."

"Very well. I'm certain that between you and Ouka we can get it functional, and certainly being able to produce things yourself is most valuable. As for Hunter assistance…" Wayle turned towards the person that had entered after everyone else left. "How about it Scarlet?"

"Sure, sounds fun. At least better than sitting doing nothing while all the big shots are running around trying to cover face and restore some semblance of not having fucked up."

The person that stepped forth in response was a teen around Wayle's age with red hair combed over to cover his right eye, with a shaved band on the left side of his head. Underneath the left eye were several tribal style markings. He was wearing a plain white shirt, with a dark-grey scarf around his neck and a red coat draped over his left shoulder. His pants were light-grey and appeared slightly torn.

"Which reminds me. Why aren't you with your team leader at Beacon right now?" Wayle asked the newcomer.

"Because he's busy and doesn't really care? Look, he went ahead and arrived before us. Besides, he wants to hang with the people he met there. Look, me and Sage are more than sufficient, seeing as you haven't had any problems with the place until now." The red-headed teen explained.

"I see. Well, I am not complaining about having even half of one of Haven's better teams for help. Then I am counting on you two, although maybe I should ask if the other two might come over and help you guys." The Sith shook his head theatrically.

"Don't worry! Besides, this ain't no official mission, so there's no reason to call them over. Instead, consider this a favour to a cool dude such as yourself. Although maybe you might want to go see your girlfriend, I think Sun likes her too." The Huntsman in training replied flippantly.

"While I wonder where you might have heard something like that, I will not inquire right now, instead, I will leave the factory to you."

"Sure thing! Leave it to me!" The exuberant youth responded with a thumbs up.

"I have an… announcement to make." Ozpin said, clearly not all too happy, even if he did mask it with indifference. "The Council of Atlas has decided to… request that Beacon aid in… removing, the White Fang, who have commenced overt acts of aggression towards their Kingdom, seeing as the Atlesian military has, due to recent setbacks, lost the ability to properly deal with the problem themselves. Due to the friendship between Vale and Atlas the Council of Vale has seen fit to approve the request, and as such we are obligated to send at least a few teams."

"As such, all teams called to this assembly are to head to Atlas, even the first years." Glynda took up the explanation, although she did a far worse job at hiding her annoyance. "The reason even first years have been called is due to a personal request made by the Council of Atlas and approved by the Council of Vale. They requested that the teams that had shown exemplary work during the Vytal Festival incident be sent as well, seeing as they should have experience with dealing with the White Fang."

The assembly hall filled with murmurs.

"This is stupid. Are they suddenly expecting us to fight a war? What are they even thinking?!" Yang hissed off to the side.

"Knowing them, they're not thinking at all." Weiss said surprisingly.

"Wait, you don't like the Councils?" Ruby asked, clearly surprised.

"They're politicians that don't seem to even consider if something is appropriate or not. To them we're just another set of soldiers to use on whatever threatens them. It's just that we're slightly more difficult to use, as using us as actual soldiers isn't popular with anyone, least of all their supporters. If they're actually resorting to us then things are probably actually not good for them." The heiress snorted.

"I wish Wayle hadn't chosen this moment to go off somewhere." The blonde bombshell said unhappily.

"I'm sure he'll show up. It wouldn't even surprise me if he's already there tearing them apart." Suddenly Sun dropped into their discussion.

"Wait, Sun? What are you doing here? You weren't called." Blake said with confusion apparent in her voice.

"When did something like that ever stop me? Besides, I can't let you all do this on your own, and I was there too you know?" The monkey scallywag said light-heartedly.

"Actually, do any of you know where Scarlet and Sage went? They suddenly upped and left without a word." And once again someone suddenly joined their conversation, this time Neptune.

"Wait, they're your teammates right? Then shouldn't you all be together?" Weiss asked questioningly.

"Eh… We separate to do our own thing all the time. It's fine." The blonde Faunus said uncaringly.

Glynda cleared her throat, silencing the students present. "Get yourselves in order, we leave in an hour."

Author's notes: I have no excuses for taking this long to update. Hopefully the chapter is at least somewhat worth the wait. Also, is it just me or does it seem like Vale has no military? I mean in the show, not here. I mean, sure, you can argue that they're busy guarding the outer walls in 'The Breach' but that just implies that it is way undermanned.

Also, what the fudge is the rest of team SSSN actually doing? They don't show up outside of some small cameos here and there, and it seems to me they haven't done a thing. Why aren't they with their team leader? Or more importantly, is their team leader actually Sun, or is the Wiki just assuming again? You know, like when it claimed that Qrow's last name was Branwen?

Oh well. Feel free to review and point out mistakes I might have made, or call me out on inconsistencies that might have shown up in my story.

I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
