A/N: Eleanor is our last Cullen, and I had to basically make up the entire thing. So, I decided to make her African American because as a true Pacific Northwestern, I prefer to have diversity in my stories.

Anyways. I tried to work in some of Emmett's original story, but it was surprisingly difficult. I knew that women were more controlled back then, so to have Eleanor go out drinking and gambling like Emmett did just didn't make sense in my mind. Also, I wanted to keep the importance of family somewhere in there, since Eleanor is the big sister personality of the Cullens.

EXT. FOREST, GATLINBERG, TN, 1915 – NIGHT

It's raining heavily. A BABY GIRL, who is African American and CRYING loudly, sits in a small basket near the trees. Text on screen reads:

Eleanor McCarty

Gatlinberg, TN

1915

INT. KITCHEN, MCCARTY HOUSE

The kitchen is small and dated. A table with two chairs sits in the middle and the front door sits in one wall. MR. MCCARTY, a young Irish man, sits in a chair, reading the newspaper. MRS. MCCARTY, a young Irish woman, stands at the sink, washing a dish, when she abruptly turns off the water and turns to the door.

MRS. MCCARTY
Did you hear that?

MR. MCCARTY
Hear what?

MRS. MCCARTY
Crying.

Mrs. McCarty runs out the door. Mr. McCarty follows her, grabbing his coat for her.

MR. MCCARTY
Wait! Where are you going?

EXT. FOREST – NIGHT

The rain and CRYING continues. Mrs. McCarty runs out into the forest, looking around for the source of the sound. Mr. McCarty follows her, putting a coat around her shoulders.

MR. MCCARTY
We shouldn't be out here. We could get sick.

MRS. MCCARTY
I don't care!

Mrs. McCarty sees the Baby Girl.

MRS. MCCARTY (CONT'D)
There!

Mrs. McCarty runs over to the basket, Mr. McCarty following her. She picks up the Baby Girl.

MR. MCCARTY
We should find her parents.

MRS. MCCARTY
There's a note in the basket.

Mr. McCarty picks up the note and reads it.

MRS. MCCARTY (CONT'D)
What does it say?

MR. MCCARTY
No one's coming back for her. She was left out here to die.

Mrs. McCarty clutches the Baby Girl close to her chest.

MRS. MCCARTY
No!

MR. MCCARTY
You want to take her in?

MRS. MCCARTY
Of course we will! Check the note to see if she has a name.

MR. MCCARTY
It doesn't say.

MRS. MCCARTY
Eleanor. That should be her name. Her name should be Eleanor Marjorie McCarty.

MR. MCCARTY
Yes. That's her name. Come on, let's get inside before she gets sick.

Mrs. McCarty places the Baby Girl back in the basket, then picks it up. She and Mr. McCarty run back toward the house, trying to get out of the rain.

INT. KITCHEN, MCCARTY HOUSE, 1935

ELEANOR MCCARTY [also known as ELEANOR CULLEN] stands in the middle of the kitchen, FIVE CHILDREN, all Irish girls, surround her, running around and yelling at each other. The oldest of them is about eleven-years-old. Eleanor is a beautiful, African American, muscular teenage girl with long, curly, brown hair, and brown eyes. She is almost always smiling. Text on screen reads:

1935

ELEANOR
Mother! I need help in here!

Mrs. McCarty, who's much older now, enters the room with her hands on her hips.

MRS. MCCARTY
All right. What's the problem?

ELEANOR
I need to go into town, it's market day. But I can't get through; these girls are pretty much insane. You just had to have kids, didn't you?

MRS. MCCARTY
Hey, we have to love them. We chose to love you.
(to the girls)
Hey! Let your sister through!

Eleanor makes her way through the crowd of kids to the door.

EXT. MARKET – DAY

VENDORS stand behind their stands, trying to sell various products. Eleanor walks through a crowd of PEOPLE, a basket in her hand. Royal stands by an apple stand, glancing at the products. He looks up, then stops in his tracks, noticing Eleanor. Edythe walks up to him, touching his shoulder.

EDYTHE
(teasing)
Ooh, Royal's got a crush on a girl!

ROYAL
No, I don't.

EDYTHE
Oh, go introduce yourself! Come on, are you nervous?

ROYAL
Yeah, that's it.

EDYTHE
Here's a plus, it would get Carine and Earnest off our backs.

ROYAL
Are they still on about that? When will they learn that we're sister and brother...

Edythe pushes Royal slightly.

EDYTHE
Go!

ROYAL
Fine!

Royal walks up to Eleanor.

ROYAL (CONT'D)
Um, excuse me?

Eleanor turns around nervously.

ELEANOR
Are you talking to me?

ROYAL
I am.

Royal widens his eyes slightly at Edythe. Edythe motions for him to keep going.

ELEANOR
Are you going to say something?

ROYAL
I was. But I was nervous to come talk to you.

ELEANOR
Right, yeah.

Eleanor turns to leave.

ROYAL
Wait!

Eleanor continues walking away.

ROYAL (CONT'D)
Ugh.

Edythe walks up behind Royal.

EDYTHE
Oh, nice going, lover boy!

ROYAL
You try, kid.

EXT. FOREST – DAY

Eleanor walks through the forest, a basket of fruits and vegetables in her hands. A RUSTLE in the leaves makes Eleanor glance behind her. She continues walking, increasingly agitated. A large bear stalks in the trees beside her. Eleanor stops, glancing around. She notices the bear lunge toward her and gasps.

CUT TO:

EXT. FOREST – DAY

Edythe leans against a tree. Royal pushes a deer carcass off of himself, then catches a scent. Terrified, he runs deeper into the forest [inhuman speed]. Edythe watches after him.

EDYTHE
Where are you going?

Edythe rolls her eyes.

EDYTHE (CONT'D)
Fend for yourself, idiot!

EXT. FOREST – DAY

Eleanor lays on the ground, deep gashes across her chest and stomach. She is bleeding heavily, but still semi-conscious. The bear is just about to finish her off, when Royal runs in between them and GROWLS. Royal tackles the bear.

INT. LIVING ROOM, CULLEN HOUSE

Carine and Earnest sit on the couch, listening to the radio. Edythe bursts in.

EDYTHE
(ecstatic)
Royal's in trouble!

EARNEST
What do you mean he's in trouble?

EDYTHE
He'll be fine. He's just in trouble with you two.

Carine and Earnest catch a scent from out the door.

CARINE
Ugh, Royal!

Royal enters the room, carrying an unconscious and bleeding Eleanor. Earnest and Carine stand up immediately.

EARNEST
You didn't do this, did you?

ROYAL
No, of course not! It was a bear. Can you save her?

CARINE
I can't keep her human.

ROYAL
I'm okay with that.

INT. LIVING ROOM, TWO DAYS LATER

All the furniture is turned over and broken or damaged. Edythe gets thrown over the ripped and dismantled couch. She flips over and slides back onto her heels. Edythe lunges over the couch again. Eleanor's eyes are now bright red. She stands in the middle of the room, half-crouched and scared. Royal crouches on the other side of the room. Carine and Earnest also crouch near the walls. Text on screen reads:

two days later

Royal tries to walk over to Eleanor, but she pushes him lightly, which rockets him against the wall. The wall buckles behind him.

CARINE
Maybe if we all tackle her at the same time.

EDYTHE
We can try.

CARINE
Okay. Three...two...one!

Carine, Earnest, Edythe, and Royal lunge at Eleanor and tackle her.

A/N: The Cullens backstories are done! I love Edythe and Royal's sibling dynamic. They're protective of each other, but also kinda hate each other.

Next up is Charlie and Renée, which was pretty sad to write. But anyway, you know the drill, and all that jazz
