Story Start

After the Prime minister had left the Granger family arrived.

"Emma, Dan, Hermione, welcome! How are you? Would you like something to drink?" asked Aella.

"Yes some tea please." said Emma

"Coffee for me." said Dan

"Some juice please." answered Hermoine.

After everyone had been served their choice of drinks, and Harry and Callum joined them as they all took a seat on the couches.

"So any world-shattering news you're going to reveal this time?" joked Dan

"Yes...in three days a comet will hit the earth, and nothing will be the same." I said seriously

"What!" exclaimed Dan with shock

"He's joking...we just wanted you to come over so we can get Harry and Hermoine ready for school together." said Aella

"That would be easier, we don't know where to go to get her supplies and while Professor McGonagall has offered to take Hermione along with the other muggle-born." stared Emma

"Mundane born." I interrupted

"I'm sorry?" asked Emma

"Muggle suggests a lack of intelligence, mundane or non-magical is a less offensive and more accurate term. I said before that a lot of wizards and witches look down on those they think are lesser than them, the term muggle is just one way that they do so and have done for a long time. Most magicals don't even realise that its a slur and think that it's perfectly fine to use." I explained

"Oh, well, either way, I believe both Dan and I will be more comfortable if you and Aella are the ones that helped Hermione." agreed Emma

"Actually if possible we'd like if you and myself went to get the main school supplies while my husband and Dan takes Harry and Hermoine to get their wands made." questioned Aellla

"I won't be able to go with you, it was supposed to be our day off, but one of our employees have called in sick, and no one else is available to work that shift so one of us has to work today and it is my turn to cover a surprise shift." said Dan

"Wait, did you say made? I thought we were going to get our wands at Ollivander's?" asked Hermoine

"Ollivander's don't make custom wands, what he does it make a wide selection of wands using different cores and materials. Then he tries to find the best match for every customer that walks in by having them try multiple wands until one 'chooses' them. However, this means that the wand will never be a perfect fit, though they can get close to it. So instead we will be going to go to Asher Mir to get your wands made, he owes me a few favours so I'm getting him to do it. When he started to protest that he didn't have the time for silly favours I just used his ego against him by saying that wasn't anyone that could do a good of a job of it as he could, not even Osiris due to consistency issues...he fell for it hook line and sinker. All I had to do was provide some wand examples for him to use and now all we have to do is let him sample your energy before he can calibrate it for your use. And while he is doing that I thought that the kids might like to go see a sparrow race, just think of motorbike racing except the bikes can fly, after that, I'd thought we spend a couple of hours practising with the new wands." I finished

"But I thought you couldn't do magic outside school." protested Hermoine.

"That's true, but they can't really detect magic from another reality, can they?" I asked

"I guess not." blushed Hermoine in response

After some more talking everyone went their separate ways, Dan went off to work while Callum transported to the Last City with Harry and Hermoine. At the same time, Emma and Aella decided to drive to a nearby entrance to Diagon Ally, a particular small cafe' as while The Leaky Cauldron is the most famous entrance it is far from the only one.

The Last City

Appearing at the Last City Callum quickly leads Harry and Hermoine to the hangar bay to get his ship so that they could head to Lo to see Asher Mir. Before they leave though Callum takes the time to introduce Amanda Holliday quickly

"Amanda, how are you?" I ask

"Callum? What brings you here?" she asks

"I'm here to grab my ship...that is if she's ready, if not, do you have one I can borrow? I'm taking Harry and Hermoine here to see Asher before I take them to see the sparrow races."

"Yeah she's finished there were bits of dead hive in the engine block...how they got in there I have no idea."

Flashback

"DIE you pieces of shit!" I screamed as I ran over scores of Thrall

"I think you're taking this a bit far." said Casper asperated

"You're not the one that got hive shit on them." I shot back angrily

Flash back end

"No idea." I remarked innocently

"Of course you don't." said Amanda not believing for a moment I was telling the truth "Any way you're in luck Sonoshee-1, JP and the rest of the Redline gang are racing this time."

"Damn, I'd wanted Hermione's first sparrow race to be a good one but this better than I hoped." said Callum

"What's Redline? Who's JP and Son...?" trailed off Hermoine not knowing how to pronounce the name.

"Sonoshee-1 is one of the best racers out there. She completed her first official race as a Jane Doe, and she entered the race after it had actually started and went on to win it. This attracted the attention of JP and some other great racers who didn't rest until they tracked her down for a race. One thing led to another, and they formed the Redline Racing gang, so-called because they will literally Redline the engines until the race is over or they destroy the engine. The leader is the person or persons who have won the last race, so as a result, they have a different leader, almost every week. But due to how much they like racing and how important it is to them it would be more accurate to say that the elected leader is just their representative and they choose what to do as a collective." said Amanda

"They take racing that seriously?" asked Hermoine astonished.

"You bet kid, the number of times JP has broken bones after pushing his engine just too far is astonishing...he won the races he did it in, but he still ended up in the hospital for a bit."

"But I thought guardians could heal most injuries quite quickly?" asked Hermoine

"JP isn't a guardian...in fact only a few in the gang are, and despite all medical advancements that we have made as well as those we recovered from our past there are still things that need a week-long hospital stay. Also in case your wondering there are multiple SRL classes, one for only guardians which is really just a game of trying to kick each other off their sparrows and as such would kill any non-light bearing guardian or civilian, a mixed class for everyone which is the favourite one to watch and finally one for only civilians and non-light bearing guardians which is the favourite for the 'pure' race fans." at Hermoine's confused look Amanda continues "You see they are actually risking their lives, light-bearing guardians will just revive if they crash but they won't. So there was a decision that there should be a class reserved for such people to try and limit deaths from trying to outperform guardians who really have nothing to lose..and it does work most accidents from non-light bearing guardians, and civilians happen in the mixed races rather than the reserved ones."

"What's the difference between light-bearing and non-light bearing guardians?" asked Hermoine confused

"I'll answer this one Amanda. You see Hermoine a guardian isn't about the power you hold; it's about protecting others above yourselves. In the last war, a lot of guardians died fighting after they lost their light as did many non-guardians that picked up a gun to defend themselves and others. In respect for their sacrifice and achievements, we coined the phrase light-bearing and non-light bearing. While one can revive in most cases after death unless they lose their ghost, the other can't, but both are recognised as defenders of humanity." I explained

"So non-light bearing guardians are more at risk because they can die more easily?" asked Hermoine

"Close, both can die but it's a permanent death versus a non-permanent death or injury and because of that light-bearing guardians are more prone to risky maneuvers then their counterparts. Now we have taken up enough time here, so let's get going." I said as I walked over to the vehicle bay, selected my ship from those stored there and watched as the floor opened up and my ship emerged.

"Hermoine say hello to The Platinum Sterling, she'll be our ride for today." said Callum as they began to board

Elsewhere

Aella and Emma had been gathering the supplies needed for the upcoming school year, they had already bought all the recommended school supplies, and now all that was left was to buy a few extra things. Such as some mundane writing tools (they both refused to buy quills), few books that were highly recommended either by the shop assistant or Aella's own understanding of the subject and to finish it off a couple of pets. They were just passing what seemed a small Cafe when they quite literally ran into someone, and if not for the quick reactions of Aella would have knocked her to the ground.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there." said Aella, grabbing the woman by the arm before she could fall to the ground

"It's quite alright, I also wasn't paying attention. Not surprising due to how my son is going to Hogwarts this year." said the unknown woman

"You too? This is my Hermoine's first year too, Aella and myself are getting school supplies for our respective children ready." replied Emma

"I'm glad someone else had the same idea as myself...my husband seems to think that it's a good idea to wait for the week before Hogwarts to do all the shopping!" exclaimed the woman with a small amount of mirth

"Though it is tradition to do at least 'some' of the shopping done then, I think it's best to get the most out of the way beforehand." continued the woman

"On that, we can agree, the less time spent fighting against the crowds the better. By the way, what's your name?" asked Aella

"Narcissa, Narcissa Malfoy." answered the woman 'who is this woman? Her power feels surreal.' Thought Narcissa as the Blacks were always good at 'feeling' other people's magic. It was one of the reasons why they were so feared because they could tell if a rival/potential ally was boasting about their power or if they were readying an attack. As one would imagine, after continually choosing powerful allies as well as thwarting any ambush attempts or betrayals, the Blacks quickly became one of the most powerful families of Britain.

"So are you nervous about the upcoming school year?" asked Emma

"Yes, I know I shouldn't be, but I guess all mother's feel the same when their children first start school." answered Narcissa

With that, the three mothers began a long talk about their children.

I know a lot of people are wondering what I am doing, well let's just say that there will be a few minor changes to the Malfoy Family, which will have significant impacts later on. Though I will say Draco will still be a prat, but you'll have to wait to book 2 to see Narcissa again, but there will be activity from her behind the scenes.

OMAKE (requested by a fan)

It was an ordinary sorting at Hogwarts, in fact, McGonagall had just called and sorted the last would-be student, and Dumbledore was about to start the feast when the large hallway doors banged open and an old man wearing robes just as strange as Dumbledore with some sort of floating...orb next to him.

"I'm sorry, can we help you?" asked McGonagall briskly, annoyed at this interruption.

"I'm here to be sorted, here is my acceptance letter." said the man holding out a slip of parchment

"Osiris! We both know you made that yourself!" rebuked the orb quietly.

"Sagira, please don't ruin this." was Osiris's soft reply.

"You can't be serious, and you are far too old to be sorted. I know there have been sortees older than 11 in the past, but they were still students! You are not!" shot McGonagall, oblivious to the conversation

"Oh McGonagall I'm sure we can grant an old man this simple request. As we get older we all look back at our childhood in fondness, so surely we can forgive him for wondering what house he would have been in had he gone to Hogwarts." spoke up Dumbledore, his eye's sparking merrily.

"Very well, please have a seat." said McGonagall eager to get this over with and quickly placed the sorting hat over the mans head as he sat on the very short (for him) stool.

Then she waited for the hat to sort him

and waited

and waited

"What is taking so long?" frowned McGonagall

"There's a lot to go through!" shot back the hat, equally unhappy

"Well hurry up! The children are waiting."

"Fine...Headmaster!" exclaimed the hat

"Yes?" queried Dumbledore

"No I mean his house, his house will be headmaster." corrected the hat

"Thank you...it was everything I'd hoped it would be." said Osiris as he handed the hat back to McGonagall

"I'm glad we could have helped." smiled Dumbledore

"Oh its not over yet." said Osiris as a literal army of the same man, all in a line walked into Hogwarts, a line that went all the way to Hogsmeade according to Angus Filch

"Fuck this...I'm out." spoke the hat before combusting into flames to the shock of everyone, soon being nothing but soot

"Oh, we can't have that." said Osiris before pulling out three cubes and rearranging them before the hat reapeared out of nowhere

"...Mother(&(&(&!" swore the hat
