They stood in the rubble, observing each other.

The young Sith's gaze wandered slightly, noting the corpses, and the broken mace.

His sword was promptly sheathed, and with a mere flick of his hand, a cylindrical object appeared in his hand.

The Fall Maiden looked at it in wonder. She knew what it was, she had seen it before, but never wielded by the one before her.

She had heard rumours, but had no concrete reports. The battle between Wayle Tyran and Amara Burton was only observed by a few, and no records of it were made.

"Team CRDL." He suddenly stated coldly. "You know, I held no affection for them. But…" His eyes narrowed even further, his gaze turning even colder. "In killing them, you have made a mockery of my beloved's kindness. She gave Cardin Winchester a second chance, and I honoured it…"

The deep dark-crimson blade of energy surged to life, and simultaneously Wayle surged forward with speed matched only by a few individuals on Remnant.

A field of blazing energy met it, and power radiated as they clashed.

She threw a gout of flame, driving him off, and quickly readied her bow, sending a searing arrow flying towards him.

It never reached him, as unseen power halted its flight, and the arrow crumbled.

In retaliation he sent arcs of Lightning, powerful enough to sear stone with its mere passing.

They met flame, and for a few moments the two powers struggled, sending waves of heat and power around, clearing the once rubble strewn area around them, and further ruining the once pristine academy's halls.

They were evenly matched, and the two clashing powers died out where they clashed.

They looked at each other, the Maiden smirking deviously, while the Sith was now emotionless.

They leapt away from their current positions at the same time, a pillar of flame erupting where Wayle stood, and kinetic energy devastating the place where Cinder stood.

They circled, flame and blasts chasing each other. Then they suddenly closed, searing blades formed from flame crashing into a blade of pure energy.

Suddenly flames burst forth from the Maiden, forcing the Sith away as they battered his defences.

But even as the dust settled, a piece of wall flew forth, unrooted from its defiant stand, crashing into her.

Her defences held strong, but the pure mass and force of the wall forced her back, finally crashing into the wall of the tower.

A burst of wind flung it away, even as the dust finally revealed the boy.

A small smirk was now visible, while the woman's smirk turned into a manic smile.

-Break—

Further away, the students of Beacon gathered near Glynda Goodwitch and Qrow Branwen, any remaining Grimm now eliminated.

"Professor Goodwitch!" Ruby exclaimed as she stopped near the teacher.

"Why are you standing over here?" Pyrrha asked tiredly.

The stern woman didn't answer, letting her unwavering gaze guide them.

The students turned their attention into that direction.

There Wayle clashed with Cinder.

"That's- We've got to help him!" Exclaimed the young Rose and she made a move to go there…

A hand on her shoulder stopped her.

"Don't." The voice of her uncle reached her ears.

"But-!" She started.

"And do what? Just look at that. Even I can't keep up." Coco stated, cutting the youngest girl off.

The battle continued, the two now moving up the tower, both of them somehow scaling the wall, intense energy radiating of their clashes that could be felt from all the way over there.

"Yeah, with that kind of collateral damage they're causing with every clash of power, I don't think either me or Glynda could survive. We're better served conserving our strength and waiting." The scruffy looking man added unhappily.

-Break—

He sent debris hurtling, she fired bolts of flame.

Their duel had somehow started moving up the wall of the tower, and occasionally they clashed in mid-air.

Wayle delivered a vicious kick that sent the Maiden flying, crashing into the tower wall with enough force to shatter it.

And yet he soon found himself blasted by intense flames.

Neither side showed signs of tiring. Neither side seemed like they would stop anytime soon.

The Sith used a small out jutting part of the wall as foothold. He couldn't fly during such an intense conflict.

Cinder disentangled herself from the wall, launching upward.

He followed, leaping both from the wall and empty air.

He sent a bolt of electricity, she sent a bolt of flame.

Their clash caused an explosion, and they were temporarily separated.

She reached the top, and blasted her way inside into Ozpin's office.

There she took a few moments to enjoy herself before turning towards her entryway, expecting her opponent.

Only to meet a stab in her back as the dark-crimson blade sprung to life out of the shadows.

It failed to pierce her defence, but it was also joined by Lightning, both through the blade itself and surging from his outstretched hand.

In the nick of time she managed to generate a burst of flame that forced the Sith away, but he managed to absorb his impact into the wall, and while it cracked, he was unfazed, while she had been shocked slightly.

He leapt forward, shattering the cracked wall. The dark Maiden conjured up her blades, and once again they clashed.

They separated, and both started gathering power. Dark energies surged before Wayle's outstretched hand, while intense flame gathered in Cinder's hands.

They unleashed their attacks simultaneously, and the intense clash shook the tower, before they exploded, shattering the entirety of the structure.

Suddenly they found themselves falling, but this didn't stop their conflict.

They started leaping of pieces of the falling tower, clashing, dodging.

Gouts of flame, bursts of electricity. Kinetic force and wind. Neither side relented, their powers crashing into each other like two unmeasurable storms, forces of nature.

Finally, they landed upon the ground, massive pieces of building still crashing down around them.

They were both breathing heavily now, the intensive energies they had been throwing at each other, and receiving, having taken their toll.

Cinder found herself laughing maniacally, while a wicked smile had crept onto Wayle's features.

"To think you had the power to stand against a Maiden!" She exclaimed maniacally.

"To think that you had the power to stand against me." He retorted smugly.

-Break—

"Wha-? When did Cinder get that powerful? We managed to beat her before, and she wasn't even near this strong back then!" Yang exclaimed as she watched the battle unfold.

"Are they even in the realm of what is naturally possible?" Coco question slack-jawed, flinching as the tower was destroyed.

Off to the side Qrow murmured: "So she managed to fully usurp it after all…"

Glynda simply nodded grimly as she watched painfully as the academy's most notable landmark crumbled and fell.

In the meanwhile, silver-eyes watched, filled with grief and pain.

-Break—

Cinder Fall was… exhilarated.

Never before had she felt so… alive, her heart and mind racing as incredible power coursed through her, being pushed to its limits against an equal opponent.

That he was equal did cause a small part of her concern, but it was currently being drowned out.

But she had made an observation that intrigued her.

There were freshly healed burns on his hand. She hadn't been able to see them occur, but since she was also certain she hadn't caused them, the only explanation was that they were self-inflicted.

And she had a hunch as to which attack of his caused them.

That violent mass of dark energy, potent beyond her imagination.

She wasn't quite sure what power he was using, but she was certain that he was using Aura to some extent, if only for recovery and augmentation, and that it should be steadily depleting…

Suddenly the world shook under a violent assault, and a wall of force, dust and debris came flying towards her, forcing her to defend.

When sight returned to her, he had disappeared.

She strained her senses, she didn't believe for a moment that he had fled.

She sensed something.

A faint feeling of presence.

She willed, and a pillar of flame rose up at that position.

It moved.

She prepared to unleash another attack towards the presence when a new one suddenly popped up, and suddenly Wayle Tyran appeared from twisting shadows, his blade raised to strike her.

The suddenness of his appearance caused her to raise a wall of flame in panic, but he simply passed through them, unharmed…

'That can't be! To pass through the flames of a Maiden…!'

She panicked, and struck out again.

Nothing… it was almost as if…

She cursed and ignored the false image, turning back towards the original presence, only to find three more coming at her.

She gathered her power and unleashed a burst of flame in an omnidirectional attack.

She noted an impact, but the false Wayle's remained, all four of them…

Four?! Then where did he go?!

She frantically searched around for him, only to finally notice power being gathered behind her.

She whirled around to try and stop him, but she could only barely start before the ball of electricity hit her with the force of a speeding Goliath.

Even with her defensive abilities, she was hurled away by the attack, which almost broke through her protection.

Dazed as she was, she still managed to reform her protection, and not a moment too soon, as bolts of lightning struck into it, shaking her.

This time she gathered her power immediately, shaping it into a fierce ball of fire that blazed like a miniature sun.

She felt him gather the dark energy again, and she hurled her attack in his direction.

Once again the two attacks collided, once again they were both assaulted by the resultant explosion.

It hurt Cinder. Her defences couldn't entirely hold it back.

But her attack had travelled a bit more than halfway. The explosion should have been closer to her opponent.

While they both emerged worse for wear, Wayle Tyran's chest was heaving, burns on his right hand slowly healing, while his outfit was singed.

He was running out of steam, while Cinder was still good to go.

She smirked viciously.

Maybe she should try to capture him?

It seemed like she could have plenty of fun with him…

She started approaching him…

Suddenly she noticed a silver gleam approaching her.

"Stop this!" A young voice, enraged and filled with grief.

And with it, power.

It slammed into her, sending her reeling.

And suddenly Cinder found that she was exhausted. Her battle with the boy had taken a greater tool that she initially thought it did.

This was dangerous. She couldn't risk further battle. Even Maidens couldn't fight forever.

So she swallowed her pride and retreated.

It didn't matter that the little girl had knocked herself out with that attack, in her current state she could ill afford a confrontation with Qrow or Glynda, much less both at the same time.

-Break—

Wayle watched Cinder's retreating form as she jumped up onto the back of a flying Grimm beast that came out of nowhere.

He wanted to pursue. He really wanted to pursue her. His anger had yet to abate, and she was an enemy he couldn't easily afford to let go.

But… he was exhausted. He was exhausted in a way he had never been before.

Certainly, using the Force took stamina, but he probably could have gone on for a bit more…

'So this is what Aura exhaustion feels like…' He idly noted.

He wondered briefly what that silver light had been, but he was too tired to consider it right now…

He noted distantly the voices of people.

It was probably the girls from team RWBY…

But it was so distant, and he couldn't hear them properly.

His vision blurred, and for the first time since Wayle Tyran came to Remnant unconsciousness took him.

Author's notes: Well, that was something. You know, I struggle to make fight scenes this long. I always just want to end them rather quickly, because realistically speaking, fights don't last that long. But this was the dramatic showdown between two very powerful characters who are kind of equal in power so... I actually find it kind of amusing how many people thought Cinder would get curb-stomped. I mean, to be fair, I probably buffed the powers of a Maiden quite a bit there, and with the way I've been writing Wayle's abilities, there probably shouldn't have been a way for her to win but... Where's the fun in that?

Give me plenty of reviews, tell me how I did something wrong or weirdly or... I don't know. Or you can always just tell me I'm awesome and that this is great, if you would rather. I would prefer some substance to the reviews, but any kind is appreciated, except for one. And I doubt I need to tell you what that is.

I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
