Love Can Only Be A Memory

'Love Can Only Be A Memory'

"Stop it Dork that tickles" Okuda Manami giggles nonstop as her boyfriend Karma Akabane tickles her after he tries to prank him.

"Nope, I don't think I will. This is what you get." Karma replies back grinning and enjoying his time with his girlfriend.

"Gee hahahaha what am I gonna do with you Karma." Okuda giggles more but not expecting the response she got from him.

"Love Me Always like I Love You" He smiles back softly this time ending the tickles making his chemist girlfriend blush.

"I'll always love you my dorky troublemaker" Okuda replies with a kiss on the cheek to her boyfriend enjoying the special moment.

'Love Can Be The Greatest Blessing In Your Life'

"K-Karma..." Okuda gasps in shock looking at the special gift Karma handed to her for their 1-year anniversary in which it was a beautiful heart necklace with a purple crystal heart inside of the locket.

"That was easy to get. The hard part was looking for the perfect one for you because that's what you are: Perfect" Karma states as he puts the necklace around Okuda's neck as she gets emotional about the beautiful gift before getting a surprise hug from her.

"I-It's so beautiful...I love it..." Okuda replies by hugging her boyfriend tight with tears around her eyes. He is always the troublemaker of Class E-3 but to her, he's the love of her life just like she is to him.

"Happy Anniversary Okuda." Karma embraces his girlfriend before sharing a passionate kiss for their everlasting love...or so they both thought.

'Love Can Be the Worst Thing in Your Life'

"Come on Okuda, Don't be like that! Look let's try to talk about this and fix it together" Karma says back to Okuda with another huge argument happening between them. For the last two months, it's been hitting rock bottom for the troublemaker and the chemist.

"Karma...I'm sick and tired, I'm already having too much problems going on with school, back at home, and now us. When will you understand that?!" Okuda shouts back at him already tired of the arguing in which he notices and knows he has to calm down.

"You're right, I'm sorry Okuda. I didn't mean to start the argument or lash out like that to you. I should know better than this. Let me help you, I promise." Karma relaxes himself and tries to comfort knowing he has hurt his girlfriend's feelings which he instantly regrets. But he will regret every wrong doing when Okuda looks at him with a heartbroken look.

"Karma...I'm sorry but this isn't just working anymore. Maybe...No...I'm sorry Karma...we need to break up.." The words both of them never wanted to hear has come as Karma looks heartbroken as everything flashed before his eyes spotting an emotional Okuda as he slowly tries to calm her down and hoping it wasn't true what she said.

"O-Okuda...please...tell me it's not true...w-we can fix this..." Karma has not been this emotionally devasted since the passing of their teacher Koro Sensei. His response was only received by a more hurtful image as Okuda rips the necklace from her neck and throws to the ground.

"NO! No more...I'm Sorry Karma..." She runs away as fast as possible with her emotions and tears coming out like a mess leaving Karma behind with the broken necklace on the ground. Both heartbroken and devasted by what has come to the end for them.

'Love Can Change How One Is Doing'

7 Months after their breakup and heading into their final year of high school, Karma and Okuda didn't talk to each other for a very while, passing by each other like complete strangers with one trying to forget everything that happened and starting new while the other still devastated and struggling to let go.

For Okuda, she feels like starting new was very helpful as things have gotten better for her. She is now one of the smartest students at high school, her problems with her family gone and now finally feeling happy at home, she has now more friends to be with in and out of school. Just recently she won the National Science Fair and she got accepted to her dream university, for her life couldn't get any more better.

But not all lives do get better, Karma Akabane has become more serious and distancing himself from everyone. He hasn't talked to his parents for a very long time now and despite being a smart student, he has been slacking and missing many days at school which has given him problems including 2 suspensions: One for missing many days of school and one for getting into a fight with another student that resulted in a massive beating. For his future, he didn't care as he was the only student to not apply for any universities as graduation looms in where he plans to miss out. For him, life couldn't get any worse.

'Love Can Sometimes Give You Hope'

With only a few weeks left until Graduation, many students were returning everything school related back to the school itself. Karma was just returning all the books and late books fees when someone bumped next to him as he hears the student drops their things. He was about to ignore it and leave until he heard the voice that he has not heard in a longtime.

"S-Sorry about that. My clumsy self always makes things like this cause a scene hahaha." Okuda giggles picking up her fallen materials only to be helped with her other materials and looks up to see a face she hasn't seen in a while.

"Hey Okuda...long time no see..." Karma greets her calm but faintly as he helps Okuda turn in her materials.

"K-Karma! W-Wow it's been a long time hasn't it..." Okuda greets him back happily but the memories of their relationship and the breakup comes back to her mind.

"Yeah...it really has been." Karma at loss of words trying to talk to Okuda but the feelings for her still in him and the remembering of the breakup makes it more difficult for him.

"How have you been doing recently? I know you have gotten yourself into problems but I bet you're doing much better now." Okuda now regaining herself back smiles at Karma while he is still amazed but the beautiful smile but the question gives him a different thought.

"You can say that..." Karma replies back smiling softly not knowing how to explain to her that things really haven't been so well for him. He was still a bit in shock that after 7 months, Okuda and him were once again talking. For Okuda, Karma's smile still gives her butterflies but decides to ignore that and deciding to change talks fast.

"That's wonderful to hear Karma! You know if you're not too busy over the weekends, we can go grab a bite together and catch up on a lot. Does that sound good to you? O-Only if you're free hehe." Okuda happily asks him hoping they can start over and reconcile their friendship. Karma knew where this was going but he knew this would be the right idea. To start over their friendship but deep in his heart, he hopes for a second chance with her. He knows he can be better and show her much love, appreciation, and happiness.

"Sure, why not? Love to catch up with the smartest and most beautiful chemist." Karma states back this time smiling for real and chuckling especially noticing the small blush on Okuda's face. He had a feeling his compliments of her would still make her fluster red like a tomato.

"Hehe Great! Meet me up at the mall on Saturday like at 4pm. See you soon Karma" Okuda happily bids her once again red headed friend goodbye for now happy they get to start over. Karma does wave back at her then walks the other way, he does notice he's feeling happier. It's been a long time since he felt this kind of happiness and hoping for a good restart with Okuda especially with the feelings for her still in him.

'But Instead, Love Is Only A Memory'

Since their reencounter, Karma and Okuda have gotten back to good terms and as close friends. It's been 5 months since they started talking again catching up on a lot mostly for Okuda. Karma was just happy to be with her again but he decided to take his time and wait for the right time to hopefully ask her out again. And now, that time has arrived.

"You can either mix the flowers like I told you or we can have a little chat. What do you say pal?" Karma once again causing trouble this time with a scared florist and decided to mix the flowers together just how Karma wanted it. He wanted to make this perfect and of course to surprise Okuda with her favorite types of flowers. "See pal that wasn't so bad right? Here thank you." He then pays the florist who is scarred to even take the money as Karma starts walking towards Okuda's home before the storm starts dropping rain.

However, on his way there he spots Okuda on the other side of the street walking out of a store as it begins to rain. Luckily, he brought his umbrella and decided it be a good idea to surprise her but at the same time help her walk home under this rain. As he starts to walk to her, he spots a guy behind her covering her eyes with his hands. At first, he thought it was some stalker and was ready to engage until he notices Okuda smiling, a smile he hasn't seen since...when they were together.

"Nick! What are you doing here?" Okuda turns around to face the guy giggling and hugs him happily. From the other side, Karma watches on as Okuda embraces the guy until the next thing he sees breaks his heart once again. He watches as the rain gets worse and Okuda and the mysterious guy share a passionate kiss. That mysterious guy is Okuda's new boyfriend as Karma drops the boquet of flowers into the ground. He then proceeds to close his umbrella as the rain pours more, only that a few droplets were not from the rain but rather his eyes.

"Heh...I guess there's no such thing as second chance...just memories...Yeah that's what love really is...only a memory..." He looks at the happy couple one more time seeing how happy Okuda is then decides to walk back the other way without her ever noticing he was there. For Karma Akabane, Love Is Only A Memory to him.
