"What do you think Master?" Latune said, surveying the pile of rubble that used to be Beacon.

"They seem to be searching for something…" Wayle responded.

They had positioned themselves so that they could see as much of Beacon as possible, while still maintaining some distance.

While Wayle held confidence that the Grimm wouldn't be able to detect either of them, there might be others present that could actually manage the feat.

"Searching? While I agree that that is the answer I myself comes to when considering their behaviour, it is hardly a course of action one would expect from the Grimm…"

"This would hardly be the first time we see these beasts act under someone's guidance."

"True. But if so, where are they?"

"That is what bothers me the most, I have been unable to detect anything besides Grimm in the area, yet they are clearly acting under instruction…"

"Then perhaps… they are receiving guidance from afar?"

"That does seem to be the most reasonable answer…" He sighed. "So, what do you think?"

"Expulsing the Grimm from Beacon will hardly be a problem for you my Master. After that, assuming our enemy does not escalate their attacks significantly, there should be no problem for our forces to hold this place, facilitating the recovery of Vale. With that, we should hold control of the Kingdom of Vale in all but officiality."

The apprentice smiled.

"Excellent observation, my apprentice. Of course, assuming our enemy still believes what they are looking for remains hidden in the ruins of Beacon, they will probably push back… And if they do, that then becomes something we know about them."

He chuckled darkly.

"I will personally be taking charge of the operation to drive the Grimm from Beacon. Have Roland move in to reinforce once I am finished. You will return to the headquarters, I need you to keep up the training of the Acolytes." He then continued.

Latune bowed and left, hastening to perform his commands.

He turned towards the horde of Grimm before him, smirked, and then flung himself forward.

A twentieth of them were gone before they even knew he was there.

-Break—

Wayle Tyran had attacked their forces at Beacon.

She figured he would, it lines up well with his overall end goal, as well as with his recent movements.

But just because it had been expected didn't mean it was any less unwelcome. They still hadn't recovered the artefact, and she was still certain it would be there.

But Wayle Tyran and his army were already reinforcing the location, and so long as the boy remained there the investment necessary to push them back would be…

Excessive. Besides, she couldn't risk him realising the existence of the artefacts, he was already a powerful and well-informed individual, and obtaining power that might help him bend Remnant to his will was not something he would pass up.

Ozpin might have failed to realise just how dangerous the boy was, but she felt certain she understood him better. Few people would so quickly move to enforce unity by any means necessary, yet it was painfully clear that he wouldn't stop until all of Remnant bowed before his will.

True, she also realised that he meant well for Remnant, that he truly intended to bring peace and stability. He just didn't have any respect for their ability to achieve it on their own.

Could she have brought him to her side if she had acted? Perhaps, early on, before his ambition had been stoked and his will became set on helping the people of Remnant, whatever they wanted him to or not.

Of course, back then she hadn't known much about him, much less the immense power at his command, or the great depth of darkness within him. Oh yes, he might have a kind heart and noble intentions, but there lurks darkness within him.

They would all have to tread carefully around that, lest the boy bring ruin to all of Remnant. Because she was certain. Certain that he was capable, if driven to it. In the deepest depths of despair he would probably tear apart entire Kingdoms.

Blake Belladonna needed to live, or they would all taste the terror of the Dark side of the Force.

And while she didn't quite know exactly what that was, something told her she would have to pour all her power into weathering that storm.

-Break—

Weiss was troubled. The news that her father had made repeated requests to the Atlesian military to find her and bring her home had been… Well, if she had been a normal girl, and her father a normal father, then maybe it would have been pleasing news but…

It just wasn't. Weiss Schnee knew very well that that was all she was to her father. Weiss Schnee, his current heir and a talented singer for when he wanted to pretend to care. He only wanted her home so that he wouldn't have to deal with her dying, and so he could control and use her.

She really didn't want to go home. She had gone to Beacon to escape that place, and that man, to begin with.

She sighed deeply. Look at her, worrying about something like this, while Blake was being torn between staying with her lover, or going with her friends.

With Yang it was harder to tell, but the heiress was certain the boisterous girl was troubled as well. She seemed to be itching to chase after the people behind the attack on Beacon… or perhaps it was something else, she didn't quite seem like she wanted revenge, but something that has happened recently has made her restless.

And then there was her darling Ruby… the girl was clearly anxious about her inability to act. Weiss knew she wanted to head towards Heaven, the only clue they currently have in regard to Cinder Fall. While she was steadily recuperating, she wanted to do something.

If the young Huntress didn't get to act soon Weiss feared for her own health.

She had been wandering aimlessly during these musings, but something caught her eye.

Or rather, something diverted her eye.

For some reason, her eyes kept getting diverted away. Of course, it wasn't actually all that egregious, she just naturally skipped across what her gaze was being diverted from. What made her notice in the first place was the set of glyphs surrounding the… passageway?

Of course, most people probably couldn't see them to begin with. Weiss had already had experience with others not noticing them.

She took a few moments to study them, but they didn't resemble anything she was familiar with, reinforcing that it was most likely Wayle's handiwork. Thinking about it he never did explain much about them. They seemed to be able to invoke some sort of effect, but due to the odd and alien structuring she was having a hard time figuring out how they worked.

Not to mention they were clearly Force based, something that made even more alien to her.

Still, she would probably look very odd standing around here, so now she would have to make a choice.

She could either enter the passageway and see what was being hidden. It wasn't without its risks, as anything hidden by Wayle could be anything ranging from incredibly dangerous to merely secret.

Of course, the way this was set up implicated that he merely wanted to hide it, not keep people out. She had no doubts he had better ways to achieve that. Like having this type of glyphs on a strong sturdy door, perhaps locked with another glyph…

Really, one of the main reasons she saw through this was that the effect of the glyphs didn't quite cover the glyphs themselves.

She should probably tell Wayle that, it was probably a mistake, and this little detail was bothering her quite a bit.

Deciding that whatever it was probably wasn't that dangerous, and curiosity taking charge, Weiss took a few furtive glances around before entering the passageway.

It was long, clearly natural, although it had been reinforced, and just a little bit dark.

Fortunately, it never got too dark to see, and it didn't take that long before the passage widened up, becoming better lit, and revealing a massive gate, at least eight metres tall and four metres wide, the doors themselves were made out of solid stone and at least two and a half metres thick, give or take.

It would take some strong machinery to move these, yet there didn't seem to be any mechanism in place to open or close them. They were currently open though, so they didn't block her path.

Beyond them she could see a truly massive chamber, clearly natural, with large pillars supporting the roof that had been provided with artificial reinforcement for safety.

Scattered around the chamber were a small number of people, around eight that she could see, who all seemed to be doing whatever really, at first glance. But after observing them for a short while she realised that they were probably all meditating, in one way or another, be it a more traditional seated position, through form exercises or some other way, they were probably meditating.

And if she were to guess, they were probably all Force-users.

It only made sense really. He had two already, so why wouldn't he be able to gather more?

While she was musing it seems one of them noticed her, as the person in question approached her. It was a rather unremarkable young man, probably a little younger than her.

"Miss Schnee, this is a rather… odd place for you to be in." He said. Weiss immediately substituted 'odd' for 'you shouldn't be here', although she might be slightly wrong on that point.

"Forgive me, I was wandering and stumbled across this place. Did I disturb you?" She replied.

"I do sincerely doubt that. Worry not, you did not disturb anything important. We are merely performing some light meditation while awaiting the return of Master Subbota. While Lord Tyran has instructed that no harm may befall his guests, especially you Miss Schnee, this is far from the safest place to be. I would suggest you return." He said, ending with a small respectful bow, although the heiress could tell he would 'insist' if she didn't leave.

"I see. Once again, forgive my intrusion. I will indeed return, thank you for the warning."

Weiss was actually quite certain that his words weren't actually a threat. It didn't feel like one, and being around a training ground wasn't all that safe. It was bad enough when Huntsmen and Huntresses were training, she could only imagine how it would be with Force-users.

And she was in no way surprised that they had instructions not to hurt the guests, or let harm befall them, which sounded very much like something Wayle would say. She didn't even feel the slightest hint of perplexity, over that she had been specified more strongly.

She was still rather amazed that nothing had happened, seeing as the Army of Union contained a good number of former White Fang, many of whom didn't exactly like the Schnee family, for reasons Weiss understood quite well nowadays, thanks to interactions with Blake.

Of course, maybe one of the main reasons was that sometimes she would find people around her suddenly 'take a nap'. Mostly Faunus as one might expect, but there had been a few Humans as well.

She honestly suspected someone had been tasked with enforcing Wayle's decree, probably that stealthy Cat Faunus, Felis, if she remembered correctly.

It was a nice precaution, even if Weiss suspected it was more for the protection of the others than for her.

She sighed again deeply. She had been completely unable to resolve her own hesitation, and Ruby was probably getting restless again…

Of course, it wasn't like she was in any way able to refuse her darling Rose.

Author's notes: Hey, it's finished! More time passed between the school term ending and this coming out than I wanted to, but... I think things are happening but... Honestly I'm slightly torn myself on what to do with the members of team RWBY, if they are going to split up or... I just don't quite know. I hope I didn't make any terrible mistakes, either grammatical, writing or story related, but I trust that you will tell me.

Oh who am I kidding, I don't trust particularly many of you to give any useful feedback. Let's just say that while positive reinforcement is nice, it doesn't help me improve in any way. Also, 77 chapters... time sure flies. Why doesn't this have a TV-Tropes page? I really want to see one. I want to see what tropes you people can find here. Or are you saying this story doesn't deserve one? *crying fake tears*

Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and that you have a nice day.
