This story has been in my head for ages now! This story was inspired by a YouTube video I saw by Izzy's Edits so check it out she has some amazing videos, warning characters death, this is a crossover story of The Worst Witch, chilling adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale and American horror story coven/apocalypse this story also deals with relationships between woman so if that's not your thing please more on, also in each show the ages of witch's and how they ages are different so I'm going to explain later on in the story as it progresses, please enjoy been nice in the reviews and also please be patient with update! I remember how much I love writing so going to try and do a little each night after work if I'm not to tired and will also try and continue with other stores at some point... the actress "Michelle Gomez" who plays Lilian aka Madam Satan in the chilling adventures of Sabrina has played many different roles so I'm going to use some names of different characters she has played, this chapter I'm going to be using "Michelle Gomez" character Isobel Pickwell, from bad Education and at some point Missy from Doctor who, notice I'll never seen bad education so I'm going to try and watch an episode or two to get a feel for that character, the only reason I'm using her different characters because as fans of Sabrina knows Lilian kills her victims and takes over their lives and bodies so she has had different names, so going to do my best to make to work within this story... I will also be using Raquel Cassidy character from Downton Abbey Phyllis Baxter.
Chapter 1
it was 2am in the morning and Joy Hecate Hardbroom set all alone in her hotel room crying her eyes out while playing with her wedding rings, like she has done even single night for the last seven and half months, Hecate HardBroom was never a cryer always thought of herself as a very strong and independent women, now it seen all Hecate even does nowadays is cry her eyes out because she was one very heartbroken witch, even more so now than when she had first found out, as Hecate had to deal with her new reality and her new life of being all alone and feeling very lonely, Hecate was heartbroken and lonely because she was missing her wife Lilith
It was now 2:05am in the morning and Hecate had hoped that she could finally sleep through the night for the first time in months as she was due to start her new job at Miss Robichaux's Academy for exception young ladies in New Orleans as the new deputy head, Hecate had wanted nothing more than to return to the one place she had truly called home before she had married, Cackle's Academy back in England so she could be with her best friend Ada Cackle once again, as much as Hecate needed her best friend right now! Hecate knew that would be the first place Lilith would have looked for her, so Hecate kept moving never really staying in one place more than two weeks, apart from that first job she had got soon after she had walked out on Lilith, Hecate also knew she would have to stay under the magic radar if she didn't want Lilith to find her, so she had to limit using as much magic as possible, so she had to do a lot of the basics day to day living without the use of magic, things like doing her hair, getting dress and walking a lot more as she could no longer transfer herself from place to place room to room using magic, theses small things didn't come easy for Hecate, alot of things were very hard at first but Hecate soon got use to doing things without the use of her magic, walking became easier first as Hecate use to walk down the corridors and hallways at night of the difference schools she had worked and didn't aways transport using magic, even all those walks she when on with both Ada and Lilith, Hecate was very grateful she had done that now! Slowly daily living got easier for Hecate there was one thing that didn't come easily for Hecate, no matter now much she tried, Hecate just couldn't get use to not having Lilith around as much as Lilith had hurt Hecate, Hecate missed her wife terribly.
Well after being married for four hundred years and being together for six hundred years of course it would only been natural Hecate would miss Lilith, she missed her smell the way she walked and talked, the way Lilith looked at her with those beautiful deep blue eyes of hers, how Lilith would hold her hand as they were on one of they daily walks, the way Lilith and her would dance around in the kitchen or bedroom, but most of all Hecate missed the way Lilith use to hold her tightly when she slept maybe that why Hecate is having trouble sleeping because Lilith isn't there sleeping next to her to hold her, even after they had an argument Lilith would still hold her, as Lilith use to say "I still love you" as Lilith use to hate the idea of something happening to one of them while they were upset with each other, it was one of Lilith fears, with that in mind Hecate let herself smile a little as she through back on the first time she had met Lilith all those years ago, even those it was over six hundred years ago when they first met but Hecate remember it it like it was yesterday.
Flashback
Hecate was walking along the corridor of Cackles Academy towards Miss Cackles Office to meet the new acts teacher Miss Pickwell, Hecate walked into the office without kicking like she normally does since she shares the office space, as she entered Miss Cackle looked toward her
"Hecate, I would like you to meet Miss Isobel Pickwell" Ada say introducing the new teacher " Miss Isobel this is my deputy head Miss Hecate Hardbroom" Ada now introduce Hecate, Isobel stood up from the chair she was sitting in and faced Hecate, they locked eyes for a moment and Hecate felt her heart started beating against her chest, Isobel raise her right hand to her forehead and took a bow
"Well met Miss Hardbroom" Isobel said as she stood up again and once again locking eyes with Hecate, now it was Hecates turns to raise her hand to her forehead and take a little bow "well met Miss Pickwell" they eyes locked once again and the world stopped for Hecate! Hecate didn't know what she was feeling in that moment or why, but she wanted to get to know this woman, maybe even be friends with her, Hecate didn't do friends she didn't need them, friends were a waste of time, Hecate did have one friend and that was Ada her one and only friend and that's all she needed, it was enough for her or at least that what she use to think until now!
"Hecate could you show Miss Pickwell to her room please" Ada asked Hecate as she could see something happening between the two woman even those she had no idea what! But from the look the two women were sharing Ada knew something was going on and wanted to help her friend to be happy again... she deserves to be happy again and from those looks Ada dared to hope that her friend could finally let herself heal and to love again, that's all Ada wanted for Hecate.
"Of course" Hardbroom replied not taking her eyes away from Isobel " if you care to follow me Miss Pickwell" Hardbroom said to Miss Pickwell
"lead the way and please call me Isobel" Miss Pickwell said with a smile on her face
"Only if you call me Hecate" Hardbroom say smiling as well, before turning around and walking out of the office with Isobel hot on her heels,
Ada watched the two women walk out of her office with a big smile on her face "please help her heal Isobel" Ada said once the women were out of the office and the door was closed
Isobel followed behind Hecate looking up and down her body as they walked, they walked together in silence as both woman didn't know what to talk about, they both had so many questions that they wanted to ask but where to start, they reached the door of Miss Pickwell new bedroom "this is your room, I hope you will be comfortable" Hecate said as she opened the door and let the other woman into the room
"Thank you Hecate I'm sure I will be very comfortable" Isobel say as she enter the room and having a Quick look around the small room seeing that her suitcases had already be brought up to her new room.
"I will let you freshen up and get some rest am sure you must be tired" Hecate say as she turned to leave the room
"Thank you Hecate, but am not feeling tired, just a little hungry maybe you could show me where I could get a little something to eat?" Isobel asks as she didn't want Hecate to leave just yet!,
"Of course, I'll take you to the kitchen, am sure our cook would be happy to make you a little something" Hecate say smiling glad for a reason not the leave the woman just yet!
"Wonderful and maybe after you could give me a tour, show me where everything is?" Isobel asked as she walked closer to Hecate, so close that they could almost feel each other's breath.
"I would be delight to give you a tour" Hecate say before taking a step back, turning and started to walk down the corridor this time with Isobel walking beside her
End flashback
Hecate smiled to herself as she remembered that day, both her and Lilith came to call it they first unofficial date as the cook had made them some ham and cheese sandwiches with a cup of tea each before they had a lovely walk in the gardens, after that they become very close, they started going on daily walks together and sitting next to each other in the dinning hall at all mealtimes.
Hecate shook her head in an attempt to stop herself thinking about Lilith any more, Hecate looked toward the clock on the night stand it was now 5am in the morning so with a sigh Hecate got up out of the bed and walked into the bathroom for a shower since she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep again any time soon and when she would go to bed tonight she would wake up again at 2am or around 2am just like every night, Hecate had to be at Miss Robichaux's academy by 9am this morning for her first day, Hecate turned on the shower and let the water run while she tied back her hair so not to get it wet, than stepping into the shower the hot water felt nice against her skin, letting the water run down her body as she tried to keep her mind clear of all thought of Lilith after 15 minutes Hecate strop out of the shower and wrapped her body in a towel, drying her body and getting dressed, Hecate put on a black cotton skirt that stopped just below her knees with a black silk shirt along with one of her big belts.
Hecate set at the desk in her room to do her hair as she looked in the mirror she saw the black circles under her eyes, she looked awful, sighing again Hecate got to work on her hair putting it up into a bun, Hecate had taken to wearing her bun at the back of her head nowadays and not at the top like she once did, Hecate finally applied her make-up to cover up the signs that she hadn't been sleeping much lately, with her make-up done Hecate put on her high heels and the watch necklace, Hecate got up and looked at herself in the mirror, she looked presentable but oh my how Hecate clothes and looks has changed over the years, she remember those long dresses she use to wear with her hair in a big bun on top of her head, her style has definitely changed.
Turning away from the mirror Hecate packed the last of her things into her suitcase, Hecate took the two sided photo frame from the night stand, before putting it into the suitcase Hecate took a moment to look at it, on one side there was a photo of herself and Pippa Pentangle, her beloved Pippa her friend, her fiancé, as Hecate looked at the photo she remember that horrible day, one of the worse days of her life, no she mustn't think of Pippa and that day right now as she would start to cry again and then she would mess her make-up up, Hecate turned her attention to the other photo it was one of her and Lilith it was one of Hecate favour pictures of them, they were on a beach in Mexico, Hecate was sitting in-between Lilith legs with Lilith cuddling her from behind, Hecate was looking up into Lilith's eyes and Lilith was looking down into her eyes with nothing but love in they're eyes, at the time they didn't realise that Lucifer, Lilith's Brother had taken a photo of them.
Hecate touched the photo of Lilith with her left hand, trying so hard not to cry "why did you do it Lilith?" Hecate asked the photo of Lilith a single tear run down Hecate's cheek.
she than looked at her wedding rings before closing the picture frame and putting it carefully into the suitcase, Hecate pick up her glass jewellery box and opened it, there wasn't much jewellery inside as Hecate really wasn't the sentimental type, there was a spider brooch with Ruby's on it, a ring Hecate mother had given her on her sixth birthday, there was also a hair chip that her Grandmother had given her after her and Pippa had announced they engaged, Hecate Grandmother told her that her Grandfather had given it to her Grandmother on they wedding day and now she was giving it to her and made Hecate promise her that she would give it to her daughter someday, there was also two rose quartz pendants in there Pippa had bought, one for Hecate and one for herself telling Hecate that Rose quartz's are crystals of love and have the power to keep you connected to the personal you love even when you're not with them, the last thing in Hecate Jewellery box was her beautiful engagement ring that Pippa had given her when she propose to Hecate, the ring is now on a gold chain that Hecate had put the ring on not long after meeting Lilith, shaking her head to shake away those moment once again Hecate put the Jewellery box down and took off her wedding rings, placing them in the glass Jewellery box but not before kissing the rings, so okay maybe Hecate was the sentimental type after all.
With everything now in the suitcase Hecate locked it and once again looked at her hand where her wedding rings were a moment ago, it felt weird no longer having them on her finger, all that was on her finger now was a white ring mark, sighing again at the white mark, what was the point of taking off her rings if there was a mark, Hecate didn't want anyone asking to many questions since she had told Cordelia Goode that she wasn't married and had no family in her interview, she had still been in England so they had a mirror interview so it was easy for Hecate to hind her finger, but now there was a white ring mark on her finger she knew then would been questions, she really didn't want to use magic but she didn't have a choice it was just a little spell surely Lilith wouldn't be able to detect her magic.
Sighing once again Hecate place her right hand over her left hand and started moving her fingers letting the magic remove the white ring mark, it only took a few second to removed the white ring mark, Hecate really hoped she would be alright and got away with it, it was just a very small spell and the only way Lilith would of detect her magic was if she was looking for her at that exact moment, Hecate tried to relax telling herself that it was highly impossible, with that Hecate grabbed her suitcase and left the room, there was no one in the hotel office at that time so Hecate left the keys along with a notice and what money she owned before walking to the all night diner.
As Hecate walked into the diner, she saw the same waitress for the last three nights or morning working behind the counter, the waitress saw Hecate and given her a smile, she watched as Hecate set at her normal table before walking over and pouring her a cup of coffee "Hello again" the waitress greeted Hecate
"Good morning" Hecate reply also giving the woman a little smile
"What can I get you?" The woman asked
"My usual" Hecate said knowing full well the woman remember her
"One full English Breakfast coming up" the woman said before walking off to place her order, but not before Hecate thanked her, Hecate wished she remember the woman's name, she had lost her name badge a week ago and was waiting for a new one, she had told Hecate her name the first night Hecate had walked into the diner but Hecate for the life of her couldn't remember, normally Hecate is really good with names but she guested it have to do with the fact that Lilith was always on her mind and couldn't think of anything else, apart from Pippa from time to time for some reason.
Ever since she had left Lilith all those months ago Hecate had somehow kept thinking about Pippa, she has just put it down to her recent heartbreak over Lilith that one reason she might be remembering her heartbreak over Pippa as well, being back all those memories even those Hecate was over six hundreds years old now, she never forgot Pippa and it still hurt when she thinks of Pippa but it never use to hurt this much before, Hecate knew that was because she was with Lilith and Lilith helped her get over the hurt and never minded if Hecate talked about Pippa, not that she talked much about Pippa maybe when her and Lilith first got together, but over the years Hecate stopped talking about Pippa but never forgot her.
Hecate was very surprised that one year Lilith have actually came and asked her about Pippa
Flashback:
Hecate and Lilith walked out of they cottage hand in hand and started walking towards the little village to Miss Cosies Cake Shop and cafe, as they walked along Lilith stopped walking as she wanted to been looking into Hecate's eyes when she asked her.
"Why don't you talk about her anymore?" Lilith asked Hecate, she had heard Ada asking Hecate if she could go with her to see Pippa , Hecate had simply reply saying she didn't think it would be appropriate anymore now that she was married and that she had gone to see Pippa one lest time to say goodbye before her and Lilith had gotten married.
"Who?" Hecate asked not really knowing who Lilian was talking about
"Pippa, you never seen to talk about her much anymore and I was wondering why" Lilith asked, had Hecate forgot about her? Would Hecate one day forget about her if the worst was to happen?.
"Because I am your wife now! And I belong to you" Hecate answer her hoping it would be enough for Lilith but of course it wasn't
"Hecate my darling I don't want you to forget about Pippa she was your whole world once and she will always have apart of your heart, I will never hold that against you or her so please feel free to talk to me about her and go and see her with Ada" Lilith told her
"So you did hear us?" Hecate say laughing a little "alright I will go with Ada tomorrow to see Pippa but only if you come with us" Hecate said
"If that's what you want" Lilith said knowing there was no way in hell Hecate would let her say no
"Good so I will let Ada know we will be joining her tomorrow" Hecate said before they continue to walked toward Miss Cosies Cake shop and cafe
Lilith stop Hecate once again pulling her toward her and wrapping her arms around Hecate "I love you and always will" Lilith said before kissing Hecate with all the love she had, before pulling back "now let go and get some custard cream" Lilith said taking Hecate's hand in her once again as they started to walk toward Miss Cosies
End Flashback:
The waitress place the full English breakfast down in-front of Hecate "there you go hun, enjoy" the waitress said with a smile, pulling Hecate from her thoughts and making her jump
"Oh thank you" Hecate said picking up her knife and fork
"I'm so sorry" the waitress said
"For what?" Hecate asked as she couldn't think for the life of her as to why this woman would be apologising for.
"For interrupting your throughs and making you jump" the woman said
"That's alright" Hecate said as she took a bite of her sausage
"It looked like you were deep in thought so again I am sorry" the woman apologised once again
"Believe me, I glad you pulled me back to reality and out of my thoughts" Hecate said reassuring the woman "I'm Phyllis, Phyllis Baxter" Hecate tells the woman as she holds out her hand to her
"I'm Sharon, Sharon Blossom" Sharon said taking her hand, that was it Sharon, Hecate wanted to kick herself for not remembering her name, Hecate knew that if the woman had told her, her last name the first time than she wouldn't of have any trouble remembering the woman's name as she has heard of the Blossom family, they family has lived in Riverdale for generations, Riverdale is also the neighbouring town to Greendale, that is where that... no Hecate don't go there you will just upset yourself again, Hecate tells herself
"It's nice to meet you Sharon" Hecate said smiling even those all she wanted to do right now was to scream, because no matter where she goes, there is always something or someone to remind her of what Lilith did even those they didn't know it.
"And you, I will leave you to enjoy you breakfast" Sharon said before walking away and leaving Hecate in peace, taking another bite out of her breakfast before reaching into her bag and taking out yesterday newspaper, Hecate started to read it so she wouldn't go back into her head again.
After Hecate was finished with breakfast Sharon came over and started cleaning the table "can I get you something else?" Sharon asked
"I could go for another cup of coffee please" Hecate replied she normally perfect tea but seen she stopped sleeping coffee has become her new best friend she would of made herself a sleeping potion but there was two problem with doing that, first she didn't have any of the ingredient to hand and plus she couldn't risk Lilith tracking her magic, Hecate was hoping there would be a sleeping potion somewhere in the academy she could get her hands on or maybe get one of the girls to make it for her somehow, maybe she could even ask Miss Goode to make her some, telling her she doesn't sleep very well in new places, Hecate knew that if she even wanted to sleep again she would have to think of something.
Sharon brought over more coffee for Hecate, Hecate thanked her than looked at the clock on the wall, it was just a little after 8am, "can I get my bill please" Hecate asked Sharon
Sharon brought over the bill for her, Hecate took out her purse from her bag to pay Sharon only to notice she didn't have enough, she knew she had more money than this, she was missing $20, did someone take it ? No because she had it last night before going to sleep because she had check to make should how much money she had leftover, then where was it? Than it hit her she must of dropped it in the hotel office when she paid, the office had been so dark she didn't notice that she had drop some money, oh well there is a nice tip for them, Hecate thinks to herself.
"Sharon?" Hecate called her over "I'm really embarrass but ill seen to had lost some of my money, here is everything I have its not enough to cover my whole bill but most of it, ill been happy to pay the rest off when I can" Hecate explained to Sharon hoping she would take sympathy on her
"Looks like your going out of town" Sharon remarked looking at her suitcase "so how will you pay the rest off if your leaving?" Sharon asked her, yes she felt sorry for the woman as she could see from the first moment she stepped through the door to they diner three nights ago that she was going thought a very hard time, Sharon was good at reading people but anyone could see from the woman's face and those dark circles under her eyes, that she is now covering up with make-up that this woman is going through some hard times.
"I'm not leaving town, I will actually be working at Miss Robichaux's Academy so I will be able to pay you the rest out of my first pay check" Hecate informed Sharon hoping she wouldn't make her do the washing up or something, so she added "its my first day today am due to be there at 9am" Hecate told her
"Your going to be working at Robichaux's Academy?" Sharon asked her as if she hadn't heard her
"Yes I am" Hecate replied not wanting to get into a whole conversation about the school and witch's as she really needed to leave now or at least within the next ten minutes if she hoped to get there on time.
"Don't worry about the rest of your bill I will cover it" Sharon said before sitting down opposite Hecate, "but I need a favour in return" Sharon told Hecate, Hecate wasn't sure what she had been expecting but it wasn't that
"What kind of a favour?" Hecate was very interested now! Hecate didn't know this woman apart from her name, so why would she been asking for a favour and only after she had learnt she would be working at the Academy, but then again Hecate was also asking for a favour in a way, so she would hear Sharon out and see what she had to say.
"My niece goes to Robichaux's Academy" Sharon started to say but stopped and bit her lower lip before continuing "her name is Cheryl Bossom, when she first started at the Academy a year ago she use to come and see me all the time, plus to get a free milkshake" Sharon laughed a little at that so did Hecate "than one day she came and told me she had to go away on school business and didn't know when she would be back, that was four moths ago and ill not heard a word from her since, I when to the school and Miss Goode told me that Cheryl have asked to be transfer to another Academy in Greendale, said she wanted to be near her brother but her brother died and she hates her mother so I don't understand it" Sharon told Hecate while trying not to let her voice break as she got herself upset every time she thought about what could of possibly happened to Cheryl, Cheryl had told her once that she wished she could of been her mum.
"So what is it you would like me to do?" Hecate asked Sharon as she finished off her coffee
"Please fine out what happened to her and if she is alive ask her to get in touch with me please, I hate not knowing" Sharon asked as the tears now fell down her face
"I'm not making any promises but I will see what I can fine out for you" Hecate tell the woman before getting up and leaving as she was going to be late now! Hecate hates being late, just as Hecate got to the door Sharon called out to her
"Thank you and maybe one day you can tell me your real name?" Sharon said with a little smile on her face
"What do you mean ?" Hecate asked her with a worried look on her face,
"Every night you have come in here, your been wearing a wedding ring but tonight your not, you also look liked your not slept in weeks and now your covering it up with make-up, so I'm guessing you have gone through a break up or going through a break up, so of course you wouldn't tell me your real name, but I hope one day you will feel comfortable enough to confident in me" Sharon say with a friendly smile on her face hoping she hadn't over stepped
"Your in the wrong line of work you should be a detective" Hecate said before walking out the door, very worried now! She had better keep an eye on Sharon , they not really talked over the last three nights apart from Hello, goodbye, asking for coffee and giving a breakfast order and Sharon got all that from her wedding rings, Hecate was very worried she had better be very careful , because one wrong moved could Bring Lilith right to her, in a small way Hecate hoped Lilith would fine her so she could stop running, Hecate had even thought about going home to Lilith once or twice, but changed her mind when she remembered what Lilith had done to her to them.
