Narcissa wiped the sweat from her brow. The work out had taken more out of her this time than usual.
"That's what you get for skipping two weeks," she muttered to herself. She'd had good reason to skip going to the gym. She had been busy with other things. Not to mention the fact Draco had been having issues with school again.
"Talking to yourself again, Cissy?" Andromeda asked, stopping her own work out and looking over at her sister.
"What if I am?" she laughed.
"Then you're probably having the best conversation of the day. Although, I am absolutely sure Draco's going to take that award once we pick him up from the sitter's."
"Probably, although, there's only so much I can listen to about the color red and how he hates nap time," Narcissa replied, walking towards the showers. "You coming?"
"Yeah, I am. Oh, look up just walked in."
"Don't tell me he's back, I swear. That guy just.."
"Is hotter than hot?" Andromeda asked, smirking. Narcissa glared at her. The man in question was thankfully too far away from the sisters to hear them talking.
"I highly doubt he's my type, Andi. You know I'm not interested in muscles, besides, he's kind of scary."
"I'm sure he's a teddy bear once you get to know him."
"We should get going if we want to beat the traffic home," Narcissa stated, watching the man from the corner of her eye. She couldn't argue with Andi about him being hot. He was tall, built like a brick wall with long blond hair and a scar over his left eye. He glanced her direction and Narcissa quickly looked away causing Andi to laugh harder.
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
"Be good at school today, alright Draco?"
"Yes, Mum," Draco sighed, looking at the school building. "It's not going to be the same without Mrs. Zeller teaching. She left to have a baby," he added. Narcissa nodded. She'd gotten the note saying Draco's class would have a new teacher starting today.
"I'm sure Mr. Dolohov won't be too bad. He might be fun," she added, giving her young son a smile.
"Maybe," Draco answered, grabbing his back pack and sliding out of the car. Narcissa watched him walk to the gate, turn and wave. She waved back. Draco hated it when she walked him to the door, he said only babies had their mum's walk them that far.
Narcissa had wanted to argue that statement. Draco was four, he would always be here baby. She watched him walk inside and sighed. Change was hard for Draco, but maybe have a male figure in his life would be a good thing. His father, Lucius, had died less than a year after Draco had been born. He didn't even remember him.
Pulling away from the school, Narcissa wondered if Andi was free. She really wanted to do some retail therapy, just thinking about Lucius always put her in a mood. Andi had of course been free. That was one of the nice parts about being a stay at home mum, a sometimes flexible schedule.
"So are we looking for anything in particular or just shopping to shop?" Andi asked, looking a grey jumper.
"Shopping to shop," Narcissa answered. "Draco's nervous about having a new teacher."
"I would be too. Although I have a feeling Nymphadora would love to have a new teacher to torment. I honestly don't know where she gets some of the ideas she has. Last week she put a fish in the teacher's desk."
"Ask Bella, that sounds like some nonsense she would pull," Narcissa answered, wrinkling her nose at a light grey scarf. Apparently, grey was in fashion this season. Narcissa found fall depressing enough without all the neutral gloomy colors. She much preferred something crisp, whites and cranberries and maybe something silvery.
"True, although, Nymphadora hid the fish in a tank of water, Bella would have used a dead one."
"Remember the noodle incident?"
"Who could forget it," Andi laughed. "Hey, I know, let's google Draco's new teacher, see what he's like?"
"You're just trying to set me up again, aren't you?" Narcissa asked, rolling her grey eyes.
"Me? No, of course not, now what's his name?"
"Dolohov, I think his first name is Antonin?"
"Found him!" Andi exclaimed. Her triumphant smile faded slightly. Narcissa grabbed the phone from her sister's hand. There was an image of the man on the screen.
"The man from the gym? That's Draco's new teacher?" she asked, wrinkling her nose. The thought of Draco being taught by someone that.. well, scary looking made her heart pound slightly.
"Small world," Andromeda commented. "Now you can get to know him, since you'll be meeting him for parents' night anyway. I wonder if he'll recognize you dressed all properly."
"Andi!"
"What? Ohh, look at those coats over there. Nymphadora needs a new winter coat, think she'll like this one?"
"No, she'll want the pink one," Narcissa stated, smiling as she thought about the fact her niece had gotten detention for dying her hair pink with highlighters.
"Good point, hey, why don't we grab some lunch and then it'll be time to pick up Draco and maybe get a meet with Mr. Hot," Andi teased. Narcissa hit her sister with a coat sleeve before they headed to the front to buy the pink coat and head to lunch.
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Narcissa had barely pulled into the parking spot when her phone rang. She glanced down at the caller ID and sighed. The school. She was in front of Hogwarts Preschool.
"Hello?"
"Mrs. Malfoy?"
"Speaking."
"There was an accident involving your son, Draco."
"Is he alright?"
"He's fine other than a scraped knee."
Narcissa sighed in relief.
"I'm already here to pick him up. I'll be right in," she stated, hanging up the phone and heading inside. She could hear Draco crying before she saw him.
"It's alright, Draco. Draco, that's the name of a constellation," a voice was saying. Narcissa paused for a moment.
"Yeah, I'm named after a dwagon," she heard Draco say proudly. She smiled wondering who was talking to her son, whoever it was had calmed him down greatly. She stepped around the corner and found Mr. Dolohov sitting next to Draco outside the principal's office.
"Hello, I'm Narcissa Malfoy, you must be Mr. Dolohov?" she introduced herself with a smile.
"I am, thank you for coming in early. Draco got into a scuffle on the playground defending another little boy. He's got a scraped knee, but is fine otherwise."
"Thank you. Draco, are you ready to go then?" she asked, looking at her son who had forgotten all about his scraped knee.
"Yes, Mum. I'll just go grab my bag," he replied, darting towards his classroom. Narcissa turned to Antonin.
"You really have a way with children," she said, smiling at him.
"Part of the reason I became a teacher. You look familiar, have we met before?" he asked, looking Narcissa over.
"I usually have my hair up in a ponytail," she hinted.
"You work out at the Common Room," he said, snapping his fingers.
"Yes, when I get a chance," she replied.
"So, are you going to be there this weekend, Mrs. Malfoy?"
"Most likely, and please, call me Narcissa, and just for the record, it's Miss not Mrs." she added, as Draco wrapped himself around Narcissa's leg.
"I'm ready to go, Mum," he announced.
"Then I'll most likely see you then, Narcissa," Antonin said as Narcissa walked from the building holding Draco's little hand in hers. She turned, gave him a smile before loading Draco in the car and leaving the school grounds.
