Author's Note: Just an idea I had, I wanted to write something about Bianca and I had this fun little idea. Keep in mind, Nico will never receive this letter, so she's saying a lot of things she might have never said otherwise. This is pretty sad, just a warning. I tried to make her feelings really conflicted, because that's how I pictured it. I hope you enjoy this one-shot though! Nothing fancy, but the sentiment is all there.

I'll go back and do some in-debt editing on this as soon as I get the time, so I apologize for any errors.

Just a quick note: Italics is the actual letter. Normal text is normal writing.

Soldatino's Song

Dear Nico,

Bianca sighed, not knowing to continue and she was only two words in. She twirled the smoky pen in her hand, watching the end slowly turn back into a somewhat-solid shape. It may not be a normal pen, like you could find up above, but it was better than nothing. The only reason she got this was because she got "special treatment" being a child of Hades.

It had all happened so fast, didn't it? Finding out she wasn't normal, going to a camp full of people who were half-god. She never would have predicted it, let alone being a child of Hades. On the bright side, her time in the Underworld hasn't been too bad. It doesn't mean she liked it down here. She shuddered.

How have you been doing lately?

She immediately crossed out, sighing to herself once more. Who knew writing a simple letter would be so hard? You would think she would pick up one thing from living in the 1900's, the time where lot's of things were formal, but even that, was gone.

Nico, I really am sorry. But you have to move on.

Too cold, she realized. She crossed it once more. She didn't want these words to be so cruel.

There are so many things I wish I could tell you.

It was true enough. She may not know a lot, after getting her memory wiped, but she wasn't exactly clueless either.

For starters, you have to let me go.

That was crossed out before it was even finished being written.

Though you won't even see this, I guess it is nice just to let it be heard.

As much as she was loath to admit it, it was true. Nico would never read this letter. There was no way, no matter how much the gods may try, this letter would reach him. And since he would never know if existed, he would never be able to seek it out.

She could tell him of course, maybe even hand it to him, but she couldn't. Hades had said so himself, so much contact with the living was forbidden. That wasn't exactly the full reason though. She could easily see Nico, if she headed his summons. But Bianca couldn't let Nico see her, she couldn't. If Nico saw her, it would be harder for him, so this was the best she was going to get.

Just….

Just what? She asked herself, though she knew the answer.

Don't be mad.

Pathetic, she chided herself. She tried again, crossing it out.

Please know this was my decision.

That wasn't too bad, she thought soundly. It was the truth after all.

I chose to take the blame for my mistakes and I wouldn't want it any other way. It isn't Percy's fault, it isn't the gods fault and it definitely isn't your fault.

If she knew her brother, these words were the truth. He would blame himself for what happened, if he hadn't done so already. Probably even blame himself more, after he figured out what she was planning to do. She scolded herself, this was about Nico, not her. He would be mad at her for this, and it wasn't long before that too, was written down.

You can't keep holding grudges Nico.

Bianca paused, for a second, but continued. The next part wrote itself.

Even I can see if from here. You think I've abandoned you when I didn't answer your calls, but you're lying to yourself. I've never abandoned you, I've just been trying to help you let go of your grades. It's dangerous Nico, father agrees with me. I've always been watching over you, I never abandoned you.

She looked at the letter. She knew it wasn't the nicest, but it was the full honesty of what she had to say. It was dangerous for him to be holding grudges, especially since he was so powerful. She never got to try her powers to their full potential loss, but she was already scared for her brother.

Until now.

She didn't write that, of course.

I know I was a little selfish, leaving you like that.

She snorted, but it was a little forced as she choked back the emotion. Who was she kidding, it was cruel. But she didn't exactly regret it either. Those moments with the other hunters were some of her favorite moments, though she didn't remember too much. She hoped losing her memory wouldn't be nearly as cruel this time, especially since she was losing it all.

But maybe you can understand.

"Nope," she whispered to herself. It's the grudges again. But she didn't delete it, for it needed to stay on that line.

You know, I don't think you'll ever know what happened on that quest.

He probably wouldn't listen, after he heard what happened to me. Bianca though, but wrote it anyway.

We were on a quest to save Artemis, but you know that much already. We went to a lot of places and faced a lot of monsters. It was pretty epic, like it came straight out of a mythomagic pack.

She wondered if he would still continue to play.

We came up to the junkyard, well, at least it was considered a junkyard to the gods. There was a mythomafic figure there, the only one you didn't have. I'm surprised you didn't have them all already, but that's besides the point.

Nico did like his mythomagic. She used to tease him about it, but she always found it adorable.

I wanted to make it up to you and apologize. I thought it would be a nice gift. So I got it.

And she did.

I can see why you'd blame yourself.

Much to her own surprise as well, she didn't erase it.

After all, I did get it for you. Just please hear me out.

Bianca knew she was getting emotion at this point, but she didn't care. She was going to finish this letter if it killed her. Well, that doesn't really fit now, does it?

You blame yourself saying I was trying to get that gift for you, but that isn't true. I was getting that gift for me. If that sounds confusing, let me try again. I got it to satisfy my own need and guilt, giving this to you was the only way to do that. So in the end, I was doing it for me. Not you.

Maybe a little repetitive, but it was the truth.

Nico, I could go on forever talking, but my time is up.

Sure enough, Bianca knew right then it was time. There may be no clocks in the underworld, but it might as well have been ringing a church bell, announcing the change of hour.

You know that quote we read in school?

Bianca knew how she was going to finish this. She was both dreading and looking forward to the final words as she faced two worlds, two options.

The one about how on the darkest night, the sun will rise again? I want you to remember that. The sun may have set, but I promise a new one will rise again. It may not be me, but there will be someone. I swear.

A better sun, Bianca admitted. Someone better than me. Whether it would be family, a friend or even a lover, she knew Nico would find someone. She just wished she could be there to meet them.

I love you Nico.

And I know you love me too.

But I guess this is goodbye.

It is. Bianca took a deep breath as she signed her name.

Love, Bianca

She couldn't help but let the last part escape her pen.

PS: Don't forget to smile.

She then looked over her letter, smiling sadly to herself. It wasn't a lot, it was far from that, but it was enough to satisfy the sisterhood still in her. She sealed the letter and let it fall to her feet. She didn't know where it would go, but there was nothing she could do to control where it went. She watched it gently blow away, until it was far out of sight.

She got up, pulling the ghost-like clothing around her, shielding herself from the non-exist wind. She followed the directions she had memorized, ever since a nameless spirit handed them to her. The instructions to do what she had decided, before she wrote the letter. The moment had come now, but it couldn't come soon enough.

She walked on, hearing the fast currents already. Before long, she stood at the edge of the river. She hesitated, but a second later, she jumped.

The letter was forgotten before she even touched the cold waters. And the letter still floats around the underworld, looking for the one it was written for.
