~Authors Note

Hey Everyone, so as you can see I've got a new story going, while I'm still working on a few other stories randomly like Goddess of Slaughter or Ichibi's Unexpected Kindness or even Forgotten my one Ghost Hunt story, I have no intention of abandoning any of my stories and I will finish them it will just take time.

Anyway you'll have to excuse the extremely short chapters for this story that i'm putting out as this was an idea that only hatched a few hours ago really and i'm still trying to figure out which direction i'm going on it, i already decided on a pairing of course so don't worry but it will be a very slow story.

In any case please enjoy.

Now at the wonderful age of seven, Sakura had surpassed Isha's expectations "Goodness and you even remembered that obscure stitching technique for cuts that are to deep and need stitches" Isha praised at her little protegee.

Who'd done something quite difficult in a rare instance where she'd been busy with another patient in a different room "I like to study a lot so of course I remembered Isha-sensei" Sakura grinned widely up at the woman who'd taken her in.

Though her memories were still lost to her she felt at ease with her life, after apologizing to the apple seller of course for stealing some apples and paying for those apples when Isha had given her an allowance to use on whatever she wanted in moderation anyway.

That was back in the early months of her apprenticeship at the local pharmacy however and she got along well with the residents of the small village now seeing as she had owned up to the crime, apologized and even paid up like a good girl.

Isha chuckled humorously and ruffled Sakura's growing pink locks, still tied back with the yellow ribbon that she'd been wearing on the first day they'd met, it was the only thing Sakura refused to part with for some reason.

She'd tried of course to get the little girl to wear a different ribbon so that one could be thrown away but Sakura had become outright obstinate in the face of losing what was possibly her last connection to the life she couldn't remember.

Her reasoning was that if she kept wearing it, hopefully the person who'd given it to her would remember who she was and then she would get to go home to her parents whoever they were and be where she was meant to be at last.

Nothing had come of it though in the past two years but Sakura remained hopeful by taking extra special care of her hair ribbon "Well in any case keep up the good work and maybe soon I'll get you started on chakra exercises in order to increase your chakra reserves" Isha declared.

Knowing that she should start Sakura on some exercises in order to teach her how to use medical ninjutsu "Okay Isha-sensei" Sakura exclaimed excitedly, eager to learn as she always was being the studious, intelligent girl that she was anyway.

Before running off to play with some of the local village children that she'd sort of befriended until it was supper time and afterwards she took a bath before being tucked into bed by Isha who hummed some lullaby to lull her into a restful sleep.

It was a few days later after the pharmacy had closed for the day that Isha took her apprentice out of the village, not to far away of course but a fair distance where no one would be bothered by the flaring of her chakra.

And began teaching Sakura how to use her chakra "And while you have a minimal amount of chakra like you'd been born to non-shinobi parents, you can expand your reserves through these exercises that I'm going to teach you, like this" Isha explained.

Carefully sensing out how much chakra her little apprentice currently had which wasn't a whole lot to be honest then demonstrating the exercise she wanted Sakura to perform by sticking a leaf to her thumb with chakra.

The first task however was to gather chakra into her hands and Sakura struggled with the exercise as her chakra responded to her efforts of manipulating it very sluggishly to her frustration "Temper, temper child" Isha scolded.

When Sakura puffed her cheeks in aggravation when just as she thought she'd gotten it, her chakra petered out, leaving her extra exhausted and upset "How am I supposed to do anything when my chakra won't even come out" Sakura whined.

Stamping her feet angrily as she did so until Isha pressed a hand to her head "Patience Sakura that's the key now try it again and keep trying until I tell you to stop alright" Isha requested, stepping back to allow Sakura to try again.

Who did as told despite her impatience and after two hours Sakura managed to focus enough chakra in her hands long enough to satisfy Isha "I'm really tired" Sakura admitted as she practically melted in an exhausted puddle on the ground to Isha's amusement.

"Of course you are, using your chakra extensively like you just did even if it was just to focus it into your hands will drain you of chakra and that will keep happening until you expand your reserves which is what the chakra exercises are all about" Isha informed.

Tapping her apprentice on the nose causing the seven year old to scrunch it up cutely in response "Then I promise to keep practicing no matter how exhausted I get from now on so that you'll be proud of me and I can learn even more stuff from you Isha-sensei" Sakura vowed determinedly.

As Isha led her back into the small village, to their pharmacy and up the stairs to the living quarters of the shop that was their home where Isha got started on dinner and Sakura returned to studying the latest medical text that was given to her to read from the library.
