Tom elected to use feminine pronouns to describe the other Horcurx. It was fitting since the newcomer now inhabited a female body. She appeared to be more interesting in torturing him than doing what she was supposed to do, contact the original Tom Riddle. That was unless she already did.

"Did you meet with him yet?" Tom asked. He was displeased that although he was able to identify her as another Horcurx, she hadn't released him. He was still lying in bed, drowsy from her syringes of unknown liquids.

She answered with a simple yes.

"And?" Tom pressed.

"He's a disappointment."

That explained the rage that was radiating from her very being. She was disappointed in the original Tom's failure and was taking it out on him.

"Release me so I can go speak with him."

"No. I like you better this way."

If the parasite wasn't going to release Tom, he had to get out of there himself. His body has developed tolerance against the mysterious substance she was giving him. Whenever she was present, he'd pretend he was drowsy. He bid his time, regaining his strength and patiently waited.

He knew that although the other Horcurx was magically strong, that female body has poor heath. Just as he had predicted, the girl's frail body had succumbed to illness. He knew the other Horcurx was disabled when the magic trapping him inside the room dissolved. He used that opportunity to escape. Muscle atrophy and a restricted diet slowed his movements but he was determined to leave before his captor returned.

Fortunately, the layout of Hogwarts hadn't changed much since he last attended the school. He made his way out of the castle. He journeyed into the forest careful as to not be seen.

In the forest, Tom gathered his wits and settled into his new temporary shelter. He stole what little food and supplies he could to sustain himself. For the time being, he was not going to contact the original Tom Riddle. Instead, he was going to stay with the young one. He could sense that she had plans of her own and he was staying to discover what they were.

Months went by as Tom spied on the other Horcurx. She didn't appear to be concern about his disappearance. She attended her classes, tutored her friends, and took flying lessons with the boy in Hufflepuff House. She was her usual timid self. No hint of the evil he knew lured within her. This meant one thing. His earlier assumptions were correct. She was plotting something and it was going to be massive. He was more intrigued by her than ever before.

After her fifth year ended, Tom targeted one of her friends. The boy that was in Hufflepuff House, who had been giving her flying lessons. She and the boy had maintained their lessons every two weeks during the summer. Tom gathered information on the boy. He studied his mannerism and personal habits. Once he believed he could mimic them to perfection, he got rid of the boy and disguised himself as him.

He had set the scene to appear as if the boy's mother, who he had Imperius to drink an abundant of whiskey earlier, attacked him in a drunken rage. Seeing how poorly the boy was treated, the girl rescued him from his abusive parent.

Sympathy or pity prompted her to move the boy into her family home. He used their time alone to win over her trust. She was cautious but he was able to soften her heart with flattery by the end of the summer. As the next school year started, he quit all of the boy's extracurricular activities to focus on the girl. He even went as far as to switch the boy's schedule to match hers. She was unaware of his deception, or so he thinks, and didn't question the changes he made.

Although Tom was her shadow, she showed no signs of anything being amiss. Others would've given up but not him. His knowledge of her being a Horcurx made him remain with her. In the meanwhile, he researched information and news about the original Tom Riddle, who was currently known as Voldemort. He refused to believe that Voldemort lost to a mere infant. There has to be more to that Halloween night. He was going to personally investigate that incident after he was finished with the younger Horcurx.

The breakthrough he had been waiting for finally happen. One night, he found the girl wandering aimlessly through the corridors. He followed her for an hour before she collapsed against a wall. He ran to her and helped her stand back up. When the girl looked up at him, he knew it wasn't the Horcurx. It was the actual girl. He saw the change in her demeanor immediately. She lowered her eyes and looked around in confusion. How can this be? He thought the girl died. Was this part of the other Horcurx's plan? Did she somehow suspect him and was testing him?

Tom continued his role as the boy and pretend to be worried about her. He asked her a few trick questions to test her response. She had no memory of the time when the Horcurx took over. Could it be that the real girl had been repressed, trapped in her own mind, by the other Horcurx this whole time? If so, then how did she regain control of her body? And where was the Horcurx?

Tom received the answer to his question when the girl tried walk away from him. She fell over, having little to no strength. That meant the Horcurx could possibly be incapacitated. Tom's efforts were not in vain after all. That other Horcurx was secretly plotting something as he had initially thought. She hid it so well from everyone and was doing this alone, which made her exhausted enough for the real girl to resurface.

Tom helped the girl to the hospital wing. It was where she remained for a week. In the weeks that follow her release from the hospital wing, he spied on her as he had before but his time, he was more thorough. He used to spy on the other Horcurx in the day time and ended it when she returned to her dorm. It was probably during those times that she carried out her plans. It wasn't like he overlooked that. He was watching the entrance. She must have snuck out through a different path.

He devised his own plans to enter her dorm in Ravenclaw Towers by disguising himself as her dorm mate. Inside of the dorm room, he could tell that this was not the Horcurx, yet. The real girl was still out. She was laying on her bed and staring at the ceiling. She was still as a statue and not once did she blink. She didn't even acknowledge his presence. He called her name to get her attention, she only moved her eyes towards his direction.

"How are you?" Tom asked her, pretending to be concern. He had to extract anything he could from her before the Horcurx fully heals and regain control of her body.

She looked back to the ceiling.

He repeated his question with more emotion when she didn't reply.

"Who are you?" she asked back.

"It's me, Evie. Your dorm mate." Tom said as he approached her bed.

"I'm worried about you, Honey." Tom waited for her to respond but as before, she didn't. He forced a smile on his lips to cover his frustration. She was shy and peculiar but friendly before the Chamber of Secrets incident. He preyed on her impressionable mind. Now, she was giving him nothing to work with. She was an invalid. He had to think of a way to make her talk to him.

"You hadn't been yourself lately." As he said this, he saw her fingers twitched and took that as a good sign to continue.

"I haven't?"

It seems that she was curious to know what happened during her absence. The Horcurx took over her body for almost an entire school year and a summer. She should've noticed by now that time had moved forward and she has no memory of it.

"Yes. You were going to your classes and tutoring her friends. You even had flying lessons with Zacharias Smith. I heard he's living with you."

That got her attention. Apparently, she wasn't aware of that. This was going to be interesting.
