Jason found Carly curled up in the corner of her bedroom clutching a teddy bear. He recognized it as the one he bought her for the baby boy she lost all those years ago. Slowly, he approached her, giving her time to register fully that he was in the room.
"Carly" He whispered gently. She didn't answer instead she stayed curled up and staring off into space. "Carly" he called again but louder this time while keeping the soft tone in his voice. She looked up at him this time, with tear-stained cheeks and tears forming in her eyes.
"Don't cry, it's okay, I'm here." He said softly. She nodded, wiping her eyes, and reached out to him. Jason sat down beside her and she leaned her head on his shoulder. The remained silent for a few moments. "I love you too by the way." Carly said, finally speaking up. Jason nodded. "I know." He told her. "Why don't you tell me more about this Dr. Baldwin guy?" He asked her, wanting to make her feel better.
Carly's shoulders noticably stiffened up. How was she supposed to tell him anything about Dr. Baldwin without telling him the truth? 'Oh yeah Jason, he's actually this creep who you would actually hate because he keeps making sexual advances towards me and gets mad whenever I reject him, which in turn, scares me.' Carly thought sarcastically.
"He's... nice." She said, trying to leave it at that, but of course, Jason was having that. "Carly, please don't lie to me." He begged her. She shook her head. "I'm not." She argued. Jason sighed and nodded. He wasn't going to push her on the subject just yet. "I have an appointment with him today." Carly informed him. Jason nodded, but stayed silent for a few moments.
One more chapter for tonight... Any ideas on how Carly should tell Jason the truth about Dr. Baldwin?.
