Everywhere you looked, there were trainers from all over the world, excited to compete. I looked on, starstruck, as I say,"This is incredible!!! So many awesome trainers," with Empoleon nodding in agreement. I shouted,"I'm so excited to compete," as I jumped up, my wings flapping in excitement before I returned back to Earth. Serena smiled, saying,"Just think Liz. Everyone's here in honor of Ash, aiming to be the best trainer of all time." Katie added,"Plus, some of the trainers here I seem to recognize," as she was right. A couple of them were Paul, Morrison, Harrison, Hop, Kiawe, and someone I was very familiar with, Alain. I went up to him, saying,"Hey Alain. Mairin. It's so great you're here to compete with us. How have you guys been"?
Mairin smiled, saying,"We've been great. I'm going to be cheering on Alain as he wins this whole competition." Alain gave a small chuckle as he said,"It'll be great to compete in a tournament again. Charizard, the rest of my pokemon, and I have been strengthening our bond with each other, and look at this," before calling out his Tyrantiar and Metagross, who now both had respective mega stones on them. I was impressed, saying,"Now they both can mega evolve as well! Cool"! Alain noticed Empoleon as he says,"I see you recently caught an Empoleon. He looks like a worthy adversary in battle, very well trained. And I see Sino and Greninja have returned as well." It clashed its wings together as I say,"Empoleon is a real powerhouse in battle. And both Sino and Greninja have gotten a lot stronger since helping Zygarde. Good luck to you," as Alain smiled, saying,"You too Liz," before he and Mairin went to register.
Two separate trainers tapped Serena and Katie on the shoulders as they turned to see who it was, with Serena shouting,"May! Dawn," with glee. Raichu jumped and nuzzled both coordinators in happiness before returning to Serena. Katie smiled as the four of them hugged while she asked,"Are you two competing in the tournament as well"? Dawn nodded while saying,"We've been training really hard for this tournament. May recommended it would help with our contests routines, so, we agreed to give it a shot, right Piplup," as Piplup nodded in agreement. May added,"Plus, it gives us the opportunity to see everyone again. It has been so long since we were together." As they chatted with one another, Carl watched while saying,"Girls do know how to start a conversation."
Meanwhile, Grace was busy looking for the restroom when she came across a boy looking around like he was lost, which peaked at her curiosity. This boy had brown blondish hair, looked to be my age, and had a shiny Umbreon by his side. She faced the boy, asking,"Excuse me, are you looking for the registration booth or anyone in particular"? When the boy faced her, Grace became shocked as well as the boy, why is because of one reason, they recognized one another. Grace could only quietly say,"Alec...," while he could only reply,"mom...," all while his shiny Umbreon watched and said [ Well...this got interesting ]
I ended up talking with Korrina, Lana, Lillie, and Sawyer, who were also competing as well. Suddenly, a rustle in the bushes caught my attention as a girl with short, gray hair, a black headband, and martial arts gear came out, ready to punch me. I smirked and blocked, jumping back and delivering a kick, which she blocked as well. While my friends and Empoleon watched in curiosity and concern, we fought for a bit before separating as the girl says,"Still as sharp as ever I see." I nodded, fixing my cap while saying,"Always trying to test me, you haven't changed a bit."
We saw the looks of confusion as I faced my friends and Empoleon, saying,"Guys, meet Bea. She's the fighting type gym leader in the Galar region. She's really tough, both in pokemon battles and martial arts. Her partner is a Machamp and together, they're well-known for putting many trainers in their place." Bea waved, saying,"It's great to see and meet fellow competitors and friends." Everyone seemed to understand as they were happy that she was friendly. Korrina instantly went up to her, saying,"Nice to meet you. I'm Korrina and I'm the gym leader of the Shalour City gym in the Kalos region. I specialize in fighting types too, and my partner is Lucario." Bea and Korrina both shook hands, keeping a firm grip, impressed by each other's strength, as Bea says,"Impressive. You definitely look like a fighter."
While I let the two of them talk with each other, I noticed how Empoleon separated from the group and looked like he was glaring at something...or someone. I went up to him, asking,"You ok bud," and saw what he was glaring at. It was Tobias, the legends master, as he was passing through, heading to registration. I was a little surprised, saying,"I didn't expect him to show up." Then, I looked back at Empoleon, seeing the angered look it had towards him as I realized something. Was he...the one who abandoned it for an Entei? I slowly popped the question to it as Empoleon nodded, making me slightly agitated. Nothing makes me more mad than seeing treat pokemon as tools, especially disposing them when they are viewed as unworthy. I faced Empoleon, saying,"Then, if we battle him, we'll show him how wrong he was to dispose you"!! Empoleon nodded in agreement, determined to win.
Meanwhile, Carl separated from Serena and Katie and went to talk to another face he knew personally: Proton. They were in a secluded area, where no one would see or hear them. Carl told Proton,"I still don't know the plan exactly, all I remember is us going in during the semi-finals." Proton face palmed before saying,"Fine. I'll say it one more time. Once the semi-finals start, Team Rocket will go in and attack, stealing all the pokemon we can get our hands on. Plus, we need the group of people: Liz, Serena, Katie, and all of Ash's friends, rivals, etc,...how should I say this...eliminated. With them out of our way, especially now that the Ketchum brat is dead, Team Rocket will conquer Kanto, then the rest of the world, with no one meddling our plans ever again. Capiche," as Carl nodded in agreement. Both men shared an evil chuckle before separating, so no one would get suspicious.
When Serena, Katie, Carl and I reunited, I looked around, asking,"Where did mom go"? Before Serena could answer that question, Grace came over to us, with the boy from earlier by her side. Serena saw him and asked,"Mom, who's that with you"? The boy came to us, saying,"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Alec Kirkland and this is my partner Ethan," as Ethan smiled, saying [ Hello ladies ]. I went up to him, saying,"Hi Alec. I'm Liz, next to me is Empoleon, my most recent catch. Behind me is my sister Serena, her husband Carl, and her best friend Katie. Nice to meet you." Alec gave me a weird look as he said,"Wait a minute. Serena's your sister"? I responded with,"Technically, I'm her adopted sister since Grace adopted me a long time ago." Alec then turned to Grace and gave her a look of confusion as Serena asked,"Hold up. What's going on"? Grace then went up to us, saying,"Let's get you guys registered and get our room and room key. There's something I need to tell you guys, especially you both Liz and Serena." We were both a little confused as we went and registered our place in the tournament.
Afterwards, we went up to the room we were staying in at the tournament villa. 7th floor, Room G16, which was like a mansion. 6 beds, a huge bathroom, and enough room for all of us. As we sat on the first bed, Grace faced us, saying,"What I'm about to say may shock you guys, so, be ready." Katie, Raichu, Empoleon, Ethan, and Carl watched quietly as Serena and I were ready to listen, with me saying,"What is it mom? Is something wrong"? Grace took a deep breath while saying,"Liz...Serena...Alec is your brother." Both of us shared a look of shock, surprise, and confusion as all we could say was a big, loud,"WHAT"?!?! Serena couldn't find the right words to say as she stammered,"But when did...how does that...is this even...WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S MY BROTHER"?!?!?! I could only look at her, saying,"I didn't even know you had a brother Serena, but how is it possible"?
Alec spoke up, saying,"It's because Serena and I are twins." I could only respond in a shocked tone of voice,"Twins"?!?! as Grace spoke up, saying,"When Alec and Serena were born, their father and I had an unsteady marriage. Just as they turned 1, we divorced and while I had custody over Serena, their father had custody over Alec. I've tried to reach out to him, but their father wouldn't let me, which left me in a heartbroken state. A couple years later though, just as you went on your journey Serena, I got a phone call from Alec, saying that he was now a trainer and traveling around Kalos after escaping from their father. We stayed in minimal touch, but never got to truly meet, until I met him today by the restrooms.
Serena was still trying to comprehend everything, still shocked by the fact that she had a brother all this time and her mother never even bothered to mention him. Meanwhile, I recovered from the shock and was able to say,"This...is...AWESOME!!!!! I've always wanted a brother, and now knowing this, it's amazing"! Alec then looked at Grace, asking,"How is Liz part of the family mom? You never mentioned her before." I spoke up, saying,"After I first won the Kalos League, my family died in a car accident, leaving me orphaned for a couple years. I only told Serena about this, but then, she told Grace and surprised me by adopting me into their family, making Serena my sister, and now you my brother Alec."
Alec smiled as Ethan joined up by his side, saying [ Isn't this amazing? You now have 2 sisters! That means you're now the only male in the family, aside from me of course ] Alec smiled at Ethan, saying,"I know bud." This made me curious as I ask,"You can understand what Ethan is saying"? Alec nodded, saying,"It's a skill I've had for a long time. I still don't know how it formed it me, but honestly, I don't mind because it allows me to strengthen the bond between me and my pokemon. What about you and your wings," pointing them out. I stretched them out a bit, saying,"I got these after discovering something about myself, thanks to the help of some special friends of mine." Serena remained silent the whole time, not knowing what to say about this at all.
Grace, seeing this, asked Serena,"Are you ok"? The only thing Serena could do was look up at Grace and say with hurt in her voice,"Why did you never tell me this? I've grown up alone, always wanting a sibling, at first thinking that Liz being adopted into our family would give me that closure, and now you tell me that I've had a brother all this time and you've never even bothered to mention him to me"?!?! Grace didn't know how to respond, especially when Serena got up and left the room, tears streaming down and slamming the door behind her. Katie and Carl wanted to follow her, but I held them back, saying,"Just give her a little time. She just needs a moment alone to take it all in."
Outside, Serena was sitting on a bench by the stadium's fountain, sobbing quietly. She felt hurt that her mother had kept this secret from her all this time and never even told her. Plus, the fact that seeing him after so long...reminded her about when she reunited with Ash upon his arrival in Kalos. Between losing Ash during the Kalos Crisis, saying goodbye to Ember who now lived in the Enchanted Forest, and now this, it felt like too much for her heart to bear. Suddenly, something came floating from the sky as it appeared in front of her, its presence almost terrifying. Serena looked up and saw what was looking at her, giving a shout is surprise and shock. What is was can be describe with a powerful word...legendary. This was no ordinary legendary pokemon. This...was the creator itself...Arceus.
Arceus looked at Serena, saying Don't fear me fellow human. Your status alarmed me, making me want to check up on you. Serena was shocked, seeing that Arceus, the creator legendary pokemon itself, was looking at her, talking with her at this very moment. All she could mutter was,"It's telepathy..." Arceus nodded, saying Very good. You are very smart human. Nothing but the best from the Chosen One's Destined Mate. Serena shook her head in shock, wondering if she heard it right, saying,"Chosen One's Destined Mate"?
Arceus continued with But of course. History itself has placed you as the Chosen One's Destined Mate. To simplify it, the Chosen One's wife. Serena was shocked for a fourth time today, saying,"How can I be the Chosen One's wife when I'm already married?! And who is the Chosen One anyways"? Arceus bowed her head, saying The name of the Chosen One is familiar to you...Sir Ashton Aaron Ketchum of Pallet Town. For a fifth time today, Serena was shocked. Ash is the Chosen One?! She's destined to be his wife even though he's dead?! His middle name is Aaron?!
Arceus continued with As leader of the Hall of Origins, all the legendarys who reside there have unanimously agreed to dub Ashton as the Chosen One. After all, he has risked life and limb throughout his travels for our safety and the world's from great, powerful evils. You, Destined Mate, ever since you two had your fateful meeting, we agreed that you deserve to me his mate.
Serena listened with awe as she said,"It's such an honor Arceus, but...even if I wanted to...I can't be Ash's mate... especially since...well...," with Arceus interrupting with His untimely death? Serena nodded as Arceus continued with We are familiar with that and many of us are still grieving it. However, what if I were to tell you of a way you could get to be with him again? Serena was shocked yet again as she said,"Are you saying...there's a way...," with Arceus interrupting once more with Yes. A way to revive Ash and bring him alive once more!
Cliffhanger!!! I'm so evil! You heard it here first- Ash will be revived once more! How will it be done? You'll just have to wait to find out! Till next time my friends!!
