A/N: SORRY! I know I've been stalling it for quite a while but... In all the chaos happening in my life, it completely slipped my mind! My boards are currently going on and I've been stress writing quite a lot so... I was able to fill up this chapter also. Hopefully the upcoming ones won't take this much time to be updated!
While all the drama of settling in was happening at the tower, Sherlock was busy travelling around the world, trying to bring down Moriarty's organisation brick by brick. He had just two places left when he came to know of John's inclusion in the Avengers.
He wasn't that surprised when Mycroft had told him about John lifting Mjolnir. He knew that John was worthy to lift it even if no one else believed it. John was after all, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Anyone close to him will know that, the calm and silent doctor was just that in the exterior. He can become a calculative, destructive force if anyone hurt anyone close to him.
He wouldn't have admitted it before but... he missed having John by his side while on this mission. He hated that he had to keep it from John that he was alive and well, but he had to make the decision: Either leaving John and watch for him from afar or watch John dying.
And well, for a self proclaimed sociopath with just one friend, it was a tough but obvious choice so with a heart of steel, he had done the deed. He had faked his death and took his leave. He knew that this decision of his will leave his friend heart broken and will have severe repercussions but he would rather have a friend who is alive and ignoring him than dead.
And now, he had just two more places to scourge through and he was done. He would go back to John and reveal that he was alive. He was currently taking down the group in India and the last one of the group was right in front of his eyes. trying to run away from him.
He persuaded him relentlessly, taking care to keep an eye on his surroundings for any surprise attacks until the guy stopped in the middle of the crossroads. That was when Sherlock made his mistake. Not giving a second glance to the seemingly stationery truck, he moved forward to catch the guy, only for a bullet to strike through his hand. Startled, Sherlock didn't hear the truck coming towards him until it was too late.
The truck ran over him hard, sending him flying through the air. His body was crying out in pain, all breath leaving him the moment he hit the ground. He vaguely heard the muffled voices of the screaming people, a few panicked shouts and the siren of an ambulance before everything went black.
Time skip to the hospital
The doctors were in a mad rush, trying to figure out the head or tail of the case. There was a man, blood seeping through the makeshift bandages, bleeding very heavily from the head, numerous broken bones and yet, he had survived. There was a sure chance of the man slipping into coma from the blood loss and the head trauma he had received.
After stabilising him, they then shifted him to a more advanced hospital, where he was kept under observation after running more scans and treatment.
The routine two months after that was monotonous. The nurse would come in and change the drips, check up on the patient and leave. The doctors were debating on remove him from life support when it happened. The patient had woken up, but nothing was the same for him, forever.
A/N: I know, quite an abrupt ending and a small chapter but... I didn'twant to over complicate things within the short period of time I had to write this up. So... whatdo you thinkwill happennext?
Hope you all liked the filler! Allcomments and criticism accepted and appreciated! Writer's blocks are SoBs so... forgive me!
