The next afternoon Alexandria had just woken up. They were doing night shoots tonight, so everyone made sure to stay up late the night before. She was eating some room service when her Skype ring went off. She pushed the button to connect and Ann popped up on the screen.
"Hi." Ann said.
"Hi."
"Just getting up?"
"Yeah, we're doing night shoots tonight."
"Damn I was hoping you would tell me, you slept late because you had a night of vigorous sex."
"Why are you so interested in my sex life?"
"Maybe because you don't have one."
"That's my business."
"You need one."
"Sex is overrated."
"Boy it has been a long time for you hasn't it?" "Maybe you can start sleeping with a widower you work with." She said smiling.
"If you mean John, I already told you, that's not happening." "Especially after what happened last night."
"Last night?" She said intrigued. "Go on."
"It was nothing we were just out to dinner and-
"Wait." She said interrupting her. "You guys went on a date?"
"No." "I had to take publicity stills of John for the movie." "It was late when we finished and I was hungry." "I mentioned it to him and he said he was hungry to." "I mentioned a diner in town I like to go to." "We decided to go together.
"Sounds like a date to me."
"No."
"Yes."
"He's from Massachusetts like us."
"Really?"
""Yeah."
"Cool." "Boston?"
"West Newbury." "He likes Johnny Cash to."
"Did you tell him about Landon?"
"Yeah."
"Wow." "You never talk about him."
"I was just telling him about myself and Landon came up."
"So what went wrong?"
"I'm not really sure." "We were talking and having a good time." "He got a text and when he looked down, saw his screensaver of a picture of him and Sherri." "He looked really sad, paid for his meal, said he had to go and left." "I think it was seeing Sherri that made him think of something." "I hope I didn't do or say anything wrong."
"You like him don't you?" She said smiling.
"No."
You do so you liar."
"I'm not lying."
"Oh my god, you're gonna fall in love with John Cena." She said teasingly.
"I am not."
Later that night they were at the night shoots. They all did their jobs. Alexandria and John hadn't spoken. As Alexandria was walking to her car after they finished, she was surprised to see John standing at her driver's side door. She went up to him.
"Hi." She said.
"Hi." "I want to apologize for last night." "It was rude of me to just leave like that."
"It's ok." "I hope it was nothing I said or did."
"No." "You didn't do anything." "It was all me."
"Can I see your cell phone?" He handed it to her. She programmed her number into it and gave it back to him. "If you ever need to talk about anything, call me."
"Ok." She got in her car. "See you tomorrow."
"Have a good night."
"You to." "Bye."
"Bye." She pulled out of her parking spot and drove away. John got in his car and left.
