AN - (FEEL FREE TO SKIP THIS AS THIS IS ABOUT ME[?])
Yes I know how similar my first chapter is to Fate in Time after doing a reread, and I didn't purposefully copy that to let you know.
But that won't atop me from feeling like a 'copycat' because I don't wanna be known as 'that guy who copied that popular story' and I just wanna be known as 'that guy who tried his best at creating story's.' Besides that I am going to do a reread of Fate in Time just so my story won't be similar but I do want to include spear, bow, and canon Lucina meeting Shirou as an omake but then I feel like I'm just copying Fate in Times omake since the concepts are similar.
Jeez, looking at my story's now I never expected to have so many people like my work, I honestly expected them to have at least 8 people favoriting them like my less popular story's. With so many people interested in my fics makes me feel pressured. Jeez I call myself old and I'm not even in my 30s, I certainly feel like it though.
Enough about me though, if you want to review I would like your honest opinion on this chapter and probably the first one showing your thoughts. Don't feel like you have to complement my story just because how awful I feel. Be relentless show not a single shred of mercy, in fact if you do review throw out the words pity, sympathy, and remorse and replace them with indifference and the cold hard truth.
Reviewer - This seems interesting don't make the story garbage please.
Dakumun aka the Author - ...Is that a challenge I see?
Reviewer - One question that will determine if I pursue this fix, will Lucina still time travel?
Dakumun - Lucina will unfortunately time travel. Depends on how you see it really, could be unfortunate or fortunate.
Anyway I hope each and everyone of you have very low expectations because I very much will and most likely will turn chrom into a female and Robin as a girl and this story will have (a) harem (aspects). Overall I feel like everyone doesn't want this to happen and I just want to say I'm not doing this just to, you know mess with you, I honestly want to do it since not many fics have a female Chrom - at least I think so - and Just to let you guys also know I always read each and every review on my storys - look at this Dakumun guy, talk about creepy - so if you want to get a message out like you don't want Chrom being genderbent go ahead and I'll take your idea into consideration even and it probably would happen.
Update - Just realized how much of a fowl and edgy mood I was when I wrote this, wont delete it though. Anyway this is IMPORTANT since I finally will be able to see you're guys PMs. Turns out I had to log into the site instead of the app, heh how dumb of me. Anyway I'll continue to write my story's at 3:00 AM until I can find a time that someone - literally everyone in the house I'm in - doesn't bother me and I can have some peace and quiet so I could work and more chapters. I'll let you know when that changes.
Enough of this mushy stuff though and lets get on with the story shall we?
Chapter 2 - First Day in the Wild
Shirou woke up, his eyes slowly opening to an unfamiliar sight, then all of the current events came to him, he was in a small makeshift camp that Lucina's father, Chrom, prepared for if anything happened like the original tent going missing. He laid on the sleeping bag Chrom also prepared just in case. He currently was thinking about his current situation which he himself had no idea how he arrived here.
He didn't dwell on how he arrived here but the consequence of arriving here. The consequence was him being younger, not many would see this as a problem but he was not part of the many. Because of his age regressing not only was he now not at his peak performance but it also seemed his circuits were also regressed as a result. It didn't worry him too much though since he now knew how to activate them and he wasn't as inexperienced as he once was so getting them back up and running should be easier.
Besides that another consequence was that he was probably in an entirely different world from what he had seen. Of course he knew this from how different everything seemed compared to his world and it also appeared they weren't as technologically as advanced as his world, at least for now since he hasn't seen much of this world.
But today he met a blue haired girl by the name of Lucina, of course he immediately noticed the wooden sword she had and assumed that she was at least training with the sword and offered his help for no other reason than he just wanted to. For now he was intruding since the father probably never wanted or even expected a third person with him and his daughter. He mentally swore to get out of his hair and continue with helping people and if possible find a way home.
He heard sound of the fabric of the tent his was in being moved and he noticed Lucina standing there at the entrance, "Shirou!" Her brows furrowed in thought, "Eh hem, Shirou." She corrected herself by speaking with more calmly and standing up straight. "My father has prepared food for us."
He didn't know why she went from excited to well mannered but he replied, "Thank you, and you dont need to speak to me like that."
Lucina let out a small breath and sagged her shoulders, even if she was still young her father being the over protective father he was tried to physically and mentally prepare her for the day she too would one day become exalt but she found that boring and not as fun. With that the two exited the tent and saw Chrom cooking meat from an animal he had caught earlier in the morning.
"It's good to see you awake." He spoke with a smile as he eyed them.
Lucina ran up to her father and hugged him as a response.
Shirou though did a small bow, "Thank you for letting me stay with you."
Chrom waved his hand and smiled as the first meat skewer was done, "Don't worry about it. As unexpected as it was I can't leave a child out here alone." He handed the skewer to Lucina as she plopped herself down next to her father and prepared the others, "It reminds me how I meet my best friend Robin. Maybe it was fate that she met you like I did with Robin?"
He didn't know who Robin was but he still took his words into consideration, maybe it was fate that had him here. "Here, sit down. I have another one for you." He stood up from where he was and sat across from Lucina offering his own seat.
Shirou sat down with a saying "Thank you." and stared into the fire. Chrom was still making more skewers so he had time to wait. So he stared at the fire and compared himself to it, he felt oddly connected to it in someway. Like how the fire would soon burn yet it would persist to it's last flame and how he himself held onto an ideal that many saw as an unreachable dream yet he would still hold on.
He remembered when he first gained it, it was the day during his fathers death where he would carry his fathers goal. To be a Hero of Justice. There were times where he regretted it, times where he treasured it, and times where he even smiled. "Hey, Shirou." Pulled out of his thoughts he looked at where the voice came from and saw Chrom offering Shirou one of the skewers, "Here, must be hungry huh?" He lightly joked.
Shirou hummed in response, yes he was hungry. During his latest travels while being watched by an old arrogant magus he ate less to give some of the food he had to those who needed it more. "Thank you for the food." He took it and took his first bite and stared at it, "It could be better..." he silently spoke.
"Say something?" Lucina's father asked him.
He shook his head, "If you say so." Chrom spoke and began eating his own skewers of meat while Lucina happily yet silently enjoyed her own.
—————————————————————————
Shirou was currently out in the woods hunting because of one reason and one reason only. He wanted to repay Chrom for his hospitality. Of course hunting wouldn't be as easy since he couldn't trace his bow and obliterate the poor animal since most of his circuits were currently and very slowly returning to its former power. It wasn't much yet it was what helped him use his ability's such as reinforcement.
He made due with his reinforcement and reinforced yet another stick to be as durable and strong as a regular sword. And he was going to kill an animal with said stick. Ah. A distance away from him he saw it. It wasn't remarkable in size yet it would still offer food, what he spotted was a bird perched on top of a branch unaware of it's impeding doom. He had multiple was to kill it, he could just hurl the stick at he and it could work but he didn't want to risk it.
So he would slowly creep his way to the bird and quickly kill it with the stick-like-sword. Just when he was about to go for the strike something or rather someone stepped on a stick and it expectedly crack and the bird flew away startled.
He let out a sigh and turned towards the source of sound and saw a mop of blue hair poking out of green bush, "Lucina, is that you." There was no answer yet the mop of blue hair seemed to stiffen, "Lucina."
She caved in and stood up from where she stood, a few leaves and small sticks sticking out of her hair. "...Yes?" She silently spoke and fidgeted under his gaze.
"Why were you following me?" This shouldn't have happened, was he perhaps losing his touch and just never noticed her?
"I... I saw you going into the forest and wanted to see what you were doing?" Hearing her say that didn't sound assuring because it sounded like an excuse.
He had to let out a sigh when his thoughts returned to the bird he was hunting. Just when he was about to bring some food back, "Do you need something then?"
"Yes!" She immediately spoke, "I want to train with you!"
He nodded his head at her, "Alright then, but maybe at a different time?"
She let her head fall down and all of her eagerness fade away. "But..." she started yet couldn't seem to find the words to ask why, "why not?"
He let a small smile grace his face, "I'm busy right now, when I get back to the camp we can train, promise?"
She felt the once faded eagerness return in full force as she too smiled yet she smiled brightly at him, "Of course!"
He watched as she ran off back towards the camp with what seemed a spring her steps. She was happy and innocent like most children, he hoped to keep it that way so they could avoid the harsh reality. But it was inevitable and he wouldn't always be there, for now he could at least help her in her training, when that was done he would wander around the world and let her father continue her training.
But that was for the future, he had to deal with the present. And that just so happen to be him trying to find another animal he could hunt.
—————————————————————————
Chrom was beginning to worry. He went back into his tent to retrieve some basic utensils and when he came back out he realized both Lucina and Shirou were gone. He felt fear, what happened to Lucina? Is she alright? Where are they? What was he wife going to do when she found out?
That feeling soon turned into relief when he saw his little girl coming out from the trees and into the open. He quickly ran towards her and hugged her, "Lucina! Don't make me so worried and run off by yourself!"
He felt pulled back from the hug and looked into her blue eyes, "But, but papa! I'm a grown up now! I can do things by myself."
He couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, "Well then, the 'grown up' doesn't look like one yet. So you'll always be my little princess."
Chrom saw her pout and look away from him with a huff. That's when he realized he forgot about the other missing child, Shirou, "Lucina."
She turned towards him with childlike curiosity, "Yes papa?"
He inwardly gushed at her calling him that but he had to keep up the calm facade, "Where's Shirou?"
She brightened up when she heard his name. He inwardly seethed at the sight, his little princess already falling in love? Not in another eleven years! "Oh oh! He's still out in the forest being 'busy'! When he comes back he said we'll train together!"
Chrom inwardly gasped, not at the fact that Shirou was being busy out in the woods, no. He gasped as his role was already stolen from him, by a young child nonetheless!
"What is he doing out there by himself?" He reiterated the question as he held Lucina by her shoulders.
Lucina looked up in thought, "Hmm, I dunno."
He let out a sigh. Great, just when he would finally have spend some time with his daughter and take a break something unexpected had to happen. Now he had to go out into the forest and look for him and hope he wouldn't cause anymore trouble for him. And stay away from his daughter. He was already beginning to hate this.
AN - Yes I know, short chapter. My bad, yet expect a longer chapter in the future. That and please bare with my low knowledge of circuits and such. Coming up with chapter names is hard...
