In the End

There he stood. Steve. Wearing full netherite armor and holding an iron shield. In his other hand he held a shimmering golden apple. The air was cold on his skin. His breath made clouds in front of him. He took a few steps forward. His steps echoed upon the strange stone. A second pair of steps followed. Steve turned around to look at his friend Alex. Her diamond armor shimmered from its enchantments. In her hands she held a bow. The bows arrows in a quiver on her back. They both looked at each other silently for a moment before nodding each heading off in opposite directions. They had spent weeks preparing for this fight. They mined for hours at a time getting materials to improve their tools. They helped many villages build walls and stronger houses in exchange for information. Information to help them achieve their goal. From the moment they had woken in a forest they had known they were different. They were stronger, smarter, faster. The village people call them crafters. They were told there had been a few others. Steve and Alex wanted to find those people. They were told the last time people heard about them was when they ventured to the end. Well except for one. But Alex and Steve had already met him and they did not wish to see him again. So they pursued the others until finally they made it. Made it to the portal. The portal to the End. It was a different dimension. The final dimension. The two crafters had been to the other two. The overworld and the Hell like realm that was the nether. They had got what they needed from these dimensions and now they were about to go into one that nobody knew anything about. The second they humped into the portal you could tell it was different. Besides the island they were standing on it was just empty space. Empty space and the dragon. The only sound besides the footsteps was the beasts giant wings flapping though the air. The creature flew around ten obsidian pillars drawing power from each as it flew by. Steve and Alex knew just what to do. Alex began losing arrows towards the top of the pillars. Every arrow was true and found their marks. An explosion rang out with every hit as the top of the towers crumbled. The dragon took notice immediately and sent balls of purple fire towards Alex. Steve jumped in the way with his shield absorbing most of the blow. The two heroes slowly began taking out one tower after another. With every tower that feels the weaker the dragon appeared to get. The explosions of the last towers were reflected in it's black scales. The dragon swooped down and landed directly in front of them. Rage spun like a storm within it's purple eyes. Alex and Steve drew their blades. The dragon in response let loose a fiery of dragonfire coating the ground and creating an inescapable arena. It was a battle to the death. Both sides fought hard. Alex and Steve did what they could but their swords just bounced off the dragon's scales. The dragon was slowly burning away their armor. All looked to be in vain until Steve pulled something out of his pocket. An apple, covered in gold, shimmering with magic. The villagers called it the Notch Apple. It was said to have magic properties that could give a person temporary invincibility. Steve threw the apple into the air and swiftly cut it in half. One half for him, the other for his partner. They quickly ate the apple and soon were glowing with unknown power. Steve took at his pickaxe and jumped to the beast's head bringing the pick down with a thunderous force while Alex took out an axe and swung at the dragon's underbelly. Suddenly both were launched outwards. A purple light filled the empty skies as a final deafening roar sounded off. Then all was dark. All was silent. It was as if the world beneath them was gone. They floated in a vast nothingness. It was deafening silence. Just Steve and Alex. They looked around and saw only each other. Until words appeared from seemingly nowhere. You have found us. You have achieved what you wished. Welcome to your eventual fate. It is not your time however. Just know we are waiting. Make the world your own. Leave it when you are proud of how you left it. Until that time, goodluck.

They opened their eyes to see blue sky peeking through the tree leaves. As they stood up they knew where they were. In the forest it all began. A world where they could do whatever they could think of. A world they could transform into their crowning achievement. Until the end.
