A/N: There will be a few differences in this chapter as well. Plus, like in Warrior Leader, I plan to give the bad guys a little more help.

Chapter Seven: Be Prepared Fast Biters
Somewhere else in the Mysterious Beyond, Clawdette, Leaper and Scratch had taken refuge in one of the many small canyons. The glow from the steam vents cast a sickly green color. While the Alpha Female Fast Biter kept an eye out, Leaper and Scratch were sitting on the floor. Well, Leaper was halfway sitting as he complained, "Man, that lousy Rex." He looked down to the bruises and cuts on his backside and said, "I won't be able to sit for a week."
Scratch started to laugh at his friend's misfortune. Leaper found it offensive as he looked to Scratch with a glare and said, "It's not funny, Scratch."
Scratch placed his hands over his mouth to keep his laughter contained, but he couldn't keep it in for long and busted out with a hysterical laugh. Leaper became really irritated by the laughing and shouted, "Hey, shut up!"
But when Scratch didn't stop laughing, it made Leaper really mad at his fellow Fast Biter. With a snarl of anger, Leaper tackled into the other Fast Biter headfirst, knocking him over. The two of them started to wrestle with Scratch quickly taking Leaper's arm and body slamming him to the ground. He narrowly avoided getting bit by Scratch by rolling out of the way in time and he bit the ground instead. Leaper got back up and tackled into Scratch again and they rolled over before Scratch was able to bite into Leaper's side, making the Fast Biter shriek in pain. Scratch was able to free himself from Leaper's by rolling them over. Holding Leaper down with his clawed hands, Scratch grabbed the left side of the other Fast Biter's face with his teeth and it made Leaper yelp in pain. Leaper was able to make Scratch let go by flipping him onto his back and sitting on Scratch's face. But when he rolled off of him, Scratch quickly jumped up and tackled into him again. The two kept fighting between themselves and Clawdette looked down to them. She shook her head before shouting down to them, "Will you two knock it off?!"
Leaper was able to throw Scratch off of him while taking a tumble himself and sat back up. Looking to the mental Fast Biter as he chewed his own leg, Leaper then said, "Well, he started it. And he wouldn't shut his snout!"
"Just look at you guys." Clawdette commented as he jumped down to their level. With a shake of her head she added, "No wonder we're dangling at the bottom of the food chain."
"Man, I hate dangling." Leaper said as some drool was hanging from his mouth. Clawdette sarcastically chuckled as she walked over to them and said, "Oh, yeah?" Her face turned serious and got in Leaper's face as she said, "If it weren't for those Big Biters running around, we'd be runnin' the joint."
"Man, I hate those Big Biters." Leaper complained with a glare at Big Biters. Clawdette got in his face as she said, "So pushy."
"And toothy." Leaper added with a smile. Clawdette moved to other side of Leaper as she said with a toothy grin, "And stinky."
"And, man, are they…" Leaper started to say. Clawdette knew what he was thinking while pressing her back against his before they said in unison, "Ugly!"
All three Fast Biters broke into a fit of laughter. Their laughter was quickly interrupted when a deep and powerful voice commented from above, "Oh, surely not all of us Big Biters are all that bad."
The three Fast Biters looked up to see Scar-Eye laying up against a rock on a high ledge. They took a breath of relief as they recognized their ally/friend. Leaper then said with a grin, "Oh, Scar-Eye. It's just you."
"Oh, but it's not just me." Scar-Eye said with a grin. Looking down at another rocky ledge, they all saw another sharptooth come out of the shadows. This one had grayish skin with a long scar running from his left eye to one of his claws on his left hands. Scar-Eye then said, "I'd like you to meet Redclaw."
"What is he doing here?" Clawdette questioned with a growl. Scar-Eye then said, "Easy, Clawdette. Redclaw here is a friend."
"And I have friends from amongst your kind as well." Redclaw added. Then glancing behind him he motioned for someone to come forward. All three Fast Biters gasped when two more Fast Biters soon stood next to Redclaw. One's color scheme was a light blue with darker blue stripes and the other was a light green with darker green stripes. Clawdette narrowed her eyes and questioned, "Screech? Thud? What are you two doing here?"
"Now, is that a way to greet old friends?" Thud asked with a grin. Screech nodded and said, "I thought you lot would be glad to see us again." The two then said in unison, "Especially after your failure."
"Yeah well, we were afraid that it was somebody important." Clawdette added with a slight glare to them. Leaper nodded as he agreed, "Yeah, you know, like Rex."
All four of the other sharpteeth didn't take kindly to those comments. Clawdette nodded and said, "Yeah."
Scar-Eye looked to Redclaw and said, "We see."
"Now that's power!" Leaper said with a wide grin. Clawdette's face dropped to a scowl as she said, "Tell me about it. I just hear that name and I start to shudder."
Leaper was a little mischievous and tried it, "Rex."
Saying that Big Biter's name did in fact send a shudder down Clawdette's spine. But instead of getting angry, Clawdette looked to Leaper and with a wave of her hand she said, "Do it again."
"Rex!" Leaper blurted out. She shuddered once again. But instead of stopping, Leaper kept on going, "Rex! Rex! Rex!"
It caused all three of them to start laughing as Scratch fell onto his back and hugged his sides. Even Screech and Thud started to snicker from their kin's antics. But it was put to a stop when Scar-Eye and Redclaw looked to them. Clawdette calmed down enough to say, "Ooh, it tingles me."
Scar-Eye narrowed his eyes before shaking his head. Then he muttered, "I'm surrounded by idiots."
"Worry, not sir." Screech said with a bow of his head. Thud then added, "Yes, we'll get this sorted out. You'll see."
Redclaw even said, "After all, all four of us are here for a reason."
"Hm." Scar-Eye nodded.
"Now, you, Scar-Eye." Leaper said to their friend, "I mean, you and your friends are one of us. You're all our pals." Looking to Redclaw, Screech and Thud he added, "And you three should count yourselves lucky."
"Charmed." The scarred Big Biter sarcastically said. Redclaw then said, "It's nice to feel wanted."
"Even though of the cold reception." Thud commented. Screech agreed, "I'll say."
"Oh, I like that." Clawdette said with a wave of her hand, "Scar-Eye's not king, but he's still oh so proper. And so can the other three." She was mostly looking at Screech and Thud as she added, "When they remember their manners."
Both Screech and Thud snarled intensely at this. But a quick growl from Redclaw kept them in line.
"Yeah." Leaper nodded in agreement. Then looking up to their boss he asked, "And, uh, hey, did you or your friends bring us something to eat. Scar-Eye, Redclaw, Screech, Thud, old buddy, new pals? Huh?" Then he was practically begging as he asked, "Did ya, did ya, did ya?'
Scar-Eye gave the dog a slight scowl before rolling his eyes and said, "I don't think that the three of you deserve this." Standing to his full height, Scar-Eye grabbed a Swimmer's haunch with his jaws and showed it to them. This made all three Fast Biters sit and looked at the leg hungrily. Setting the leg down, Scar-Eye looked to Redclaw and asked, "What do you boys think?"
"After hearing about how they couldn't do the job, I'm not sure." Redclaw shook his head. Screech then said, "After all, you practically handed those two cubs over to them." Thud shook his head as he added, "And they couldn't even dispose of them."
But Scar-Eye used his tail to push the leg over the side. Then laying against the rock again, the Big Biter watched as the leg fell before hitting the ground. Clawdette, Leaper and Scratch all had big grins on their faces when the leg landed right in front of them. They quickly tore into the meat. As they ate, Clawdette tore off a piece of meat and talked with her mouth full, "Well, you know, it wasn't exactly like they were on their own, Scar-Eye."
"Yeah." Leaper agreed when he tore off a piece. He then asked with his mouth full, "What on earth were we supposed to?" Leaper swallowed what he had before asking, "Kill Rex?"
The three Fast Biters continued to eat while Scar-Eye once again rose to his feet. He looked to Redclaw, Screech and Thud with a grin. They also grinned as Scar-Eye said to the three, "Precisely."
This made the three red Fast Biters stop their eating and looked up to Scar-Eye with questioning looks. Dark spirits started to play their tune as the black sharptooth took in a deep sigh as he said to himself, "You lot can be crude and unspeakably plain." All three started to snicker to themselves, but Scar-Eye grinned as he added, "But you all have a glimmer of potential. If aligned to my vision and brain."
Scar-Eye leapt from his ledge down to another. Then from that ledge, he jumped down again. Clawdette, Leaper and Scratch quickly moved out of the way though Scratch grabbed the bone just as the Big Biter landed. When he stood at his full height, Scar-Eye stood at his full height and looked up to the three. Redclaw, Screech and Thud all jumped down from their ledge and landed behind Scar-Eye. The four started moving and blasts of steam erupted from the vents on their sides. A huge sheet of steam shot up in front of him, but Scar-Eye poked his head through and started to sing…

Scar-Eye, Redclaw, Thud and Screech: Be Prepared!
All three red Fast Biters rose up in the pile with the skulls of different dinosaurs on their heads. Leaper had a small Threehorn skull on his noggin, Clawdette wore a Frilled Spitter's on his head and Scratch had a Spiketails on him.
"Yeah, be prepared. Well be prepared." Leaper nodded with a smile and looked to his two friends. But he became confused as he looked up to Scar-Eye and asked, "Uh, for what?"
"For the death of the king!" Redclaw shouted from a ledge underneath Scar-Eye's. It didn't make it any clearer for him as Leaper did his name sake and leaped up to the ledge next to Redclaw. With a tilt of his head, Leaper then asked, "Why, is he sick?"
Screech and Thud both sighed before the former smacked the skull off Leaper's head and the latter grabbed him by the neck and shook him. Thud gave his kin a deadpanned look while Scar-Eye then said, "No, fool, we're going to kill him." A malicious grin grew on the Big Biter's face as he added, "And Chomper, too."
Both Screech and Thud pushed Leaper off the ledge and he landed on the floor. He rubbed his behind as it hurt his wounds from earlier. But before he could complain, he smiled when Clawdette happily said, "Great idea. Who needs a king?"
Clawdette and Scratch started to dance around Leaper while she and he, as he clapped with glee, started to sing…
Clawdette and Leaper: No king, no king, la-la la-la la la
"Idiots!" Screech and Thud angrily shrieked in unison. Redclaw growled as he stated, "There will too be a king!"
This confused Leaper as he raised a hand and said, "Hey, but you said, uh…"
"I will be king!" Scar-Eye told them with a glare. Then he promised them, "You lot stick with me." The lighting of the cavern changed to a sickly yellow as he threw his head back and dramatically shouted, "and you or your people will never go hungry again!"
This caused the three red Fast Biters to cry out in joy as Leaper shouted, "Oh, yeah! All right!"
"Long live the king!" Clawdette shouted with a grin. It became a chant as more and more Fast Biters were revealed when they shouted, "Long live the king!" Even Screech and Thud joined in by shouting, "Long live the king!"
All the Fast Biters started cackling as a huge cloud of yellow steam billowed around them. When it dissipated, all of the Fast Biters started marching in goose-step formation with Leaper, Screech, Clawdette, Thud and Scratch at the front. When they walked by the ledge where Scar-Eye and Redclaw stood, they turned their heads as they sang…

The dark spirits started to cease their music as Scar-Eye, Redclaw and the Fast Biter army stood on the risen rocks under a crescent moon. All the sharpteeth their started to break out into evil laughter as they would soon come up with another plan to make Scar-Eye king and get them all that they want.

Author's Note: I told you that this chapter was gonna be different. Also, I think this is my longest version of "Be Prepared" that I've ever written. And yes, I did the same thing that I did in the "Warrior Leader" by brining in Redclaw, Screech and Thud into the mix. But I thought that it wouldn't hurt bringing them along for the ride.
