The Nemuri and Hizashi looked around the homey livingroom in curiosity, while Aizawa was slouched in the chair, his eyes closed trying to ignore the young eyes on him watching him intently...It was a little unsettling honestly.
"Here you go!" said as she placed a plate of sandwiches, and tea down, as well as the promised cakes.
Hizashi dug into the food quickly, while Nemuri took some tea, and let out a happy hum at the taste. "This is really good Ka-go-me!" She praised.
Kagome blushed and rubbed the back of her head. "Thanks, It's just a blend of tea my mom makes."
"Is this really smart? Letting strangers into your home? Especially when it seems like it's only you and two little kids." Shouta asked as he cracked an eye opened looking at the fat Calico that had jumped up onto the seat with him.
Kagome smiled as she placed a cake for Izuku and Katsuki to eat, "Thank you for your concerns, and while I wouldn't normally invite just anyone in, you did help me. So I doubt that you're too bad."
His black eyes narrowed on her while he hummed, "Still, don't make a habit of this it isn't very safe."
"He's right you know would want any wolves to eat such a cutie like you up." Nemuri cooed as she pinched Kagome's now blushing cheeks.
Hizashi barked out a laugh, "Yeah! Your lucky we're Heroes and not Villains!"
A smack rang out in the room as the blond rubbed the back of his head where Shouta smacked him.
"You're Heroes!" Izuku crowed with a little bit of frosting still on his face.
"It's hard to see the gloomy guy being a hero, but he did save Kagome..." Katsuki admitted, though he looked like he didn't want to.
"We technically aren't just yet, but we do graduate soon!" Nemuri explained as she whipped Izuku's cheeks.
It got quiet once more as the heroes-to-be ate, drank, and played with a cat respectively.
That comfortable silence was broken by a nervous Izuku who was being nudged by Katsuki.
"Umm...Kagome?"
The blue eyes girl looked at them with a small smile halting the conversation she was having with Hiazashi about something to do with English. The others where weren't really paying attention.
"Well...I was wondering, actually, it was Katsuki and I that were wondering. You don't have to tell us if you don-"
Katsuki shoved his rambling friend away a little and took charge "What Izu is trying to say is what does Quirkless mean? That loser was calling you that."
Kagome's smile fell and an embarrassed flush dusted across her cheeks, as she started to look uncomfortable her eye darting to the other three who were in the room.
Hizashi and Nemuri looked shocked and she even saw a bit of pity in their gaze that irked her.
But when she turned to look at Shouta his gaze was the same as it had been, cool, and almost bored.
"Kagome?" a voice and slight touch to her hand startled her out of her thoughts. As she turned to a concerned Izuku and Katsuki.
She gave them a strained smile as she fiddled with her teacup, "Well, Quirkless is how it sounds...it means someone without a quirk..."
"What? what do you mean you don't have a quirk?" Katsuki asked greatly confused, because everyone had a quirk...right?
Kagome gave a small laughed at the udder confusion on his small face. "I don't have one, I mean have you ever seen me talk about a quirk or even use one?"
"We...we thought your quirk was like your mom's or even your grandpa's...how do you know you don't have one?" Izuku asked as he climbed into Kagome's lap trying to comfort her even though she was trying to hide her slight distress.
"Well, usually a Quirkless person doesn't have only one pinky toe joint, and instead that two..."
"That's stupid what does a toe have to do with a quirk?" Katsuki complained, and honestly, Kagome thought it was a little silly too...
"So you have two joints Kagome?"
"Well...no..."
"Then how does that work!" Hizashi asked interested in the conversation before covering his mouth. "Whoops, not my place to ask, my bad."
Kagome giggled, "It's fine. Well, it's rare, but sometimes even with the missing joint, they could be Quirkless, save with the two joints they could end up with a quirk. But again it is really rare."
Katsuki frowned after all of this, "does...does that mean theirs something wrong with you?"
Kagome blinked back the hurt those words caused she knew he didn't have any ill intent in them, but they still stung, all the same. Before Kagome could respond someone beat her to it.
"Are you stupid?"
A smack and a distressed cry of "Shouta" Was shouted out.
"You can't just say that to a kid!"
Shouta frowned as he rubbed his arm where his friends hit him, "Why not? The brat's being dumb."
Katsuki scowled and glared at the older teen, "I'm not a Brat! You useless hobo!"
Izuku gasped at how his friend was talking to a soon to be hero, and looked to Kagome to see her frowning at the scene.
"Oh? Then why are you acting like one?" Shouta shot back.
Before Katsuki could get really fired up he was interrupted by Kagome.
"That's enough! You need to stop right now.""
The two stopped and looked to the now irritated blue eyes girl. Before Shouta smirked, "See kid, yo-"
"No, You need to stop! You're like what 17 and are arguing with a literal three-year-old."
"But the brat said something dumb, and it hurt your feelings?"
Kagome puffed out her cheeks and narrowed her eyes, "SO? You can't just call him dumb because of something he said. He doesn't' even know that it hurt my feelings! You need to let kids know when something isn't right or they will never learn. You can't just call them a name and then not explain why you said it...You should have said it in the first place."
Hizashi and Nemuri watched the verbal spare with wide eyes, and sipping tea...No one often got into arguments with Shouta let along seem to be on the winning side...
Before Shouta or Kagome could continue with the...debate...
A small hand touched Kagome's cheek and another weight settled next to Izuku who had been watching with great attention. Kagome glanced downed to see Katsuki looking at her with a worried gaze that he was trying to hide behind a scowl.
"Kagome...Did I make you sad?"
She frowned at that, and before she could say anything Katsuki hugged her close, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean it! Don't be sad...I'm sorry..."
All the fight melted out of her and she hugged Katsuki close and glanced over to Izuku who had tears pooling in his eyes, ever the sympathetic cry. With a chuckled, Kagome pulled the green haired child into the hug too.
"It's okay Katsuki, I know you didn't mean it."
Izuku and Katsuki pulled away from her before the green eyes boy spoke, "But what did he say that made you sad?" Katsuki stared intently at her wanting to know so he wouldn't say it again, He never wants Kagome to be sad...She's best when smiling!
Kagome faltered, should she really have this talk when they are so young? She looked over them and they seemed to really want to know...she could always give them a little bit nice version?
"He asked if something was wrong with me...A lot of people think that way, and they aren't the nicest about it..."
Katsuki narrowed his eyes and even Izuku looked a little less bright, "What do you mean?"
"She means that others in this world put too much stock into quirks. If someone doesn't have a strong one or one that is considered 'villainous' they are usually treated no as good..." Shouta added his thoughts.
"No, they don't!" Katsuki said, but Izuku was thinking about his seriously.
"oh? Then think about all of the things you like about heroes and quirks what can you tell me about villains quirks and hero's quirks?"
"Heroes quirks are always Amazing and super flashy!" Katsuki crooned
"V-villain's quirks are always scary, or really dangerous..." Izuku mumbled out.
"Why? Who decided what is heroic and what is villainous regarding a quirk?"
Katsuki opened his mouth to report, but stopped thinking, What really made a quirk heroic or not?
Shouta smirk, "Listen up kid, and listen well. A quirk is only as good as the one using it, and even then a quirk is not the be all end all of a fight, sure it helps, but never just completely rely on a tool."
The two stared at the tired teen who gave them some advice that they might not be able to completely understand right now, but at least it will be in the back of their mind now.
Katsuki looked warily around the room, "But what does that have to do with Kagome?"
"Kacchan...If people aren't nice to others with 'weak' and 'villainous' quirks what do you think they do to someone who supposedly doesn't have any quirk."
Katsuki looked from his friend while thinking, but then looked really confused, "But...Kagome's really cool? She could totally throw anyone to the ground?" He stated so completely confused like the thought of anyone one not liking one of his favorite people was just not possible.
The somewhat serious mood of the room was broken, and all the older kids started to laugh, well Shouta didn't laugh, but he did look amused.
Katsuki flushed red as he frowned crossing his arms in a pout, he didn't like everyone laughing at him, but his own lips twitched when he heard Kagome snort a little.
After everyone calmed down and took calming breaths the bell of the clock n the hall chimed letting them know an hour had passed since the start of the little tea party started.
"Oh, It seems we may have stayed a bit too late!" Nemuri said as she stood with a stretch and yawn
"Yeah, thanks for the snacks, and the entertainment! I haven't see Shouta talk that much in forever...of course most of it was him being mean, but still!" Cheered Hizashi as he walked to the door was following after Nemuri. Katsuki and Izuku also following after them asking the few question they could before the soon-to-be-heroes left.
Kagome laughed as she too stood and started to collect palates and teacups. When she noticed the tired older teen still slouched in the chair Buyo still curled up on his chest. She raises an eyebrow, "Comfortable?"
His black eyes moved over to her then wiggled down more into the seat, "Very."
She rolled her eyes and had to hold back a laugh at the exasperated sigh he let out when his friends started to yell his name.
Shouta picked up Buyo and placed the home on the arm of the chair the calico now glaring at him offended that he was moved. With a final pet, he stood and stretched.
"Why are you so tired? You still so young." Kagome asked as he watched him seem to wilt into himself.
"Insomnia and dry eye are horrible."
Kagome stared at him before walking into the kitchen only to return a moment later with a small wooden box, "Here."
He took it slightly confused but could smell herbs that seem to be in the box.
"It's another of my mother's teas this one helps with sleep. Wouldn't want to fall asleep on the job when you start do you? Also, you might want to work on your people skills, especially with kids."
He scoffed and started to walk towards the front door, "You act like I'm gonna be dealing with kids often."
Kagome followed him with raised eyebrows, "You're going to be a hero, aren't you? You tend to deal with people sometimes kids..."
Shouta stopped at the door, "Ah that is where you're wrong. I'm going into underground heroics I'll be doing more of the dark stuff. Don't get me wrong limelight heroes have their own dangers, mine will just be a bit quieter, and less likely for a body to be found."
Kagome looked at him horrified, "Please don't die in a back ally or something. You might irritate me a bit, but I don't want to read about you in the news."
Shouta smiled a smiled that was all teeth, and you could feel the amusement rolling off of him, "No promises kid..." And he was out the door walking to his friends that were now by the steps of the shrine. They seemed to be questioning him as they started down the steps.
What an odd bunch they were...
Are Izuku and Katsuki getting a talk that they probably don't even what was entirely said? Yes.
Do I know how to write kids? No.
Am I trying? Yes.
I hope you like it, I enjoy writing it. (especially Shouta and Kagome bickering, lol) Also, Katsuki being cute is also something I love.
Again though this is going to probably be borderline crack, and Kagome's quirk is again going to be Op, like All for One, One for All Op. (leaning more towards All for One Op.)
