Chapter Fourteen: The Great Valley Battle

The sun bore down on Chomper and Littlefoot as they ran through the mountains and crossed through the desert. When they neared the valley, Chomper slowed down a moment to take a breath. The sound of footsteps behind him made him look back to see Littlefoot stopping next to him. Chomper then asked him, "How are you holding up?"

"Just fine, thanks." Littlefoot said as they were both panting. Chomper then asked, "Do you think it'll be as bad as Scales told me?"

"I'm not going to lie, it's pretty bad." Littlefoot said with a frown. He shook his head and then said, "You may not like it."

"You may be right." Chomper said as he started to head towards the entrance. They didn't meet any Fast Biters as they went through the opening. Littlefoot then stopped and said, "I think I'll let you go through first alone. You need to see it. But don't worry, I'll be right behind you."

Chomper nodded before continuing into the Great Valley. When he walked through the pass, his foot came down on a withered stick and it disintegrated upon contact. Chomper looked on in disbelief and shock as she gazed about the valley. There was no grass growing on the ground, the trees had also withered and there were many dinosaur skeletons lying about the place. He walked up a small hill and soon found himself staring at the rest of his ruined home. He could see even more dinosaur skeletons littering the place, the rivers practically dried up and Fang Rock was just as desolate as the rest of the valley. While his heart had been filled with sadness, shock and disbelief, his eyes narrowed as he became angry at the one who was responsible. He bared his teeth and growled, "Scar-Eye."

Littlefoot had come up behind him and the two friends looked to each other. But before the two could say anything or go any further, a voice called out from behind, "Chomper, Littlefoot! Wait up!"

They looked back to see Scales, Ducky, Petrie, Spike and Cera all running up to them. Scales moved past Littlefoot while Cera, Spike, Ducky and Petrie all stood next to the Longneck. Scales looked to her best friend and sorrowfully asked, "It's awful, isn't it?"

"I didn't want to believe you." Chomper admitted as the sight of the valley had been heartbreaking. Scales leaned closer to comfort him by pressing against him. Chomper then said, "But everything you said is all true. It's all gone."

"What made you come back, anyway?" Scales asked him while backing up from him. Chomper slightly smiled as he glanced at the Longneck and said, "I finally got some sense knocked into me." Then he looked up to his head and said, "and I've got quite the bump to prove it."

Chomper looked back to Fang Rock and he stated, "Besides, this is my kingdom. And I've got to fight for it." Then he said, "If I don't, then who will."

"I will." Scales declared as she stood with him. Chomper looked to her and said, "It's gonna be really dangerous."

"I remember a certain someone saying that we should laugh in the face of danger." Scales reminded. The two chuckled at the memory. Chomper then said, "Scales, I owe you an apology."

Scales listened as he said, "I am so sorry for what I said to you last night. I was just-"

"It's okay." Scales said and nuzzled him. She then said, "And I owe you an apology to you as well."

Chomper was a little surprised by it and she said, "I shouldn't have been so forceful trying to make you come back home. I was just so worried about everyone back home. I'm sorry."

"You don't have anything to be sorry for." Chomper said with a smile. She smiled and nuzzled him once again. Cera then cleared her throat and said, "Uh, not that this isn't touching…" She then gestured to Fang Rock, "But we got somewhere we need to be."

"And we're right beside you." Littlefoot said with a smile. He looked amongst the others as he said, "All the way."

"Yeah." They all agreed. Chomper smiled in appreciation to this before the group all stood together. They looked to Fang Rocks with looks of determination while dark clouds rolled over the Great Valley.

It was late afternoon when the seven had come close to the rock formation. They had to move as quietly as possible. The snuck along the rocks and kept a look out for any Fast Biters. They soon moved behind a really large overturned tree. The seven slowly raised their heads to see what lay before them. They could see Fast Biters as far as the eye could see. The red striped dinosaurs were either chewing on bones, sleeping, laying about or wrestling with each other. Cera huffed and quietly said, "I can't stand these guys."

"Me neither." Petrie shook his head. Spike then looked to Chomper and asked, "So what's the plan to get past them?"

"Live bait." Chomper was quick to tell them. Cera seemed to like the idea, "Hey, that's a pretty good…" But then she realized who it was gonna be and looked to him with a glare and quietly said, "Hey!"

"You want us to distract them?" Ducky asked in fear. Chomper then said, "We need to create a diversion."

"And don't worry. I'll be with you." Littlefoot promised. Cera then looked between the five Leaf Eaters and questioned, "What do you want us to do?" She was being sarcastic and said, "Just walk up to them and offer them a buffet table?"

Ten minutes later…

"I'm going to kill him for this." Cera griped as she had a deadpanned look. While she and Littlefoot walked over to the Fast Biters with fearless expressions, Spike, Ducky and Petrie were absolutely terrified. They stood behind some rocks before Littlefoot nodded to each of them. They each took deep breaths before stepping out into the light. Cera then shouted, "Hey! Fast Biters!"

All the Fast Biters turned to their direction. Spike nervously turned around and started waving his rump taunt them while Ducky shouted, "Come and get us, you thin-legged squawkers!"

The Fast Biters all growled at the insult before being overcome by hunger. They all started to stalk towards the five herbivores with hungry looks in their eyes. When enough of them had moved out of the way, Chomper and Scales made their move to sneak around them. They carefully walked around them while the Fast Biters closed in on the five friends. When they were close enough, Littlefoot shouted, "Now, run!"

The Longneck, Threehorn, Spiketail, Big Mouth Swimmer and Flier all turned tail and ran for their lives. The Fast Biters all snarled as they gave chase and the two Big Biters quickly made their way to Fang Rock.

They came to a spot where they could remain out of sight but had a clear view of the rock formation. The two Big Biters looked about before turning to each other. Chomper then said, "Scales, you go and look for my mother and rally the rest of the pack." Scales nodded and then Chomper added, "And don't forget to make it clear up the confusion for our friends."

"I won't." Scales said with a smirk. He smirked too before becoming serious again, "And I'll go and look for Scar-Eye."

"Be careful." Scales said before licking his cheek before turning and running to the left and running off. Chomper just stood there for a moment before shaking his head to clear his mind and turned to head the other way. Chomper made sure to stick to the shadows to avoid detection from the remaining Fast Biters.

Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike continued to run while the Fast Biters kept chasing after them. They rounded a corner and Littlefoot said, "This is far enough you guys!"

All five friends stopped and turned to face the predators. When the Fast Biters came around the corner, Cera let out a bellow before charging at them. Lowering her head, she rammed through the screeching predators while the other four engaged as well. Ducky tackled one while Spike and Littlefoot used their tails to trip up some of the Fast Biters. Petrie swooped down and grabbed two with his feet before flying high into the air. He released the screaming dinosaurs and they landed on their fellow Fast Biters. One Fast Biter had snuck around and tried to attack Cera, but Littlefoot's tail quickly wrapped them and flung the predator away. Petrie and Ducky both knocked two Fast Biters' heads together while Spike used his tail to swat one away after shouting, "Fore!"

When all the Fast Biters had been dealt with, Littlefoot then said, "Let's hurry up and regroup with Chomper and Scales."

"And hopefully not have to worry about the Big Biter pack." Ducky added with high hopes. The five friends quickly ran back towards the rock formation.

Scales quickly made her way towards the cave where the pack was moved after the ascension of Scar-Eye. When she entered the tunnel, she could hear murmuring coming from the inside. Scales then said, "Hello? Anyone in there?"

"Scales?" She heard her mother's voice ask. Roberta came running out and she embraced her daughter. Scales embraced her back and asked, "Is everyone alright?"

"We're fine, Scales." Roberta told her. Another Big Biter then commented, "It took you long enough, though."

"I hope that it had been worth it." A second said. Roberta growled at them and it shut them up. Scales then said, "It was worth it, I found some friends to help us out, and more importantly, I found Chomper."

"Chomper?" Roberta and the pack asked. Her mother then reminded, "Scales, you know that Chomper is gone."

"But he's not. I found him across the mountains and the desert, Mom." Scales happily said. She looked to the pack and said, "He's alive."

"If he's been alive the entire time, then why hasn't he come back to help us?" The first Big Biter questioned. Scales shrugged and said, "It's complicated, but he needs our help if we're going to stop Scar-Eye."

"And we still want that, don't we?" Roberta asked the back. The pack looked to each other before nodding in agreement. Scales then said, "Good." Then she added, "Plus, me and Chomper would be grateful if you didn't eat the help we brought."

"Say what?" A Big Biter in the back asked. Roberta then said, "If help has come, no matter who or what they are, then we will restrain ourselves." She looked to the pack and questioned, "Right?"

The pack slightly grumbled to themselves before agreeing. Both Scales and Roberta smiled to this. It was then that Scales noticed that someone was missing. Looking to her mother she asked, "Where is Eda?"

"A Fast Biter had come a little before you did and told her that Scar-Eye was demanding an audience with her." Roberta informed her. Scales' eyes widened with shock when her mother told her, "From what the Fast Biter said, it didn't sound good."

"Come on." Scales said with a gesture of her head. The entire pack followed her to the ledge to help Chomper.

The sun was starting to set as Chomper carefully made his way down the path that would take him to the ledge. Thunder boomed overhead as he stayed low and then looked over some rocks to see if he could spot his uncle. He spotted Scar-Eye walking towards the ledge of the rock formation. Chomper started to make his move when he heard Scar-Eye roar, "Eda!"

Chomper gasped when he peeked from behind another rock and looked down to the sea of Fast Biters. He could see his mother walking through the crowd as they parted to let him through. When some started growling or biting at her heels, she only gave them looks of disdain. One jumped in her way and she growled loudly in its face. The Fast Biter then moved out of the way and Eda turned her attention back to Scar-Eye. She climbed up the stone steps towards her King as another drum of thunder boomed overhead. Chomper looked to his mother with guilt as she continued to climb up. When she had reached where he was waiting, Eda then addressed him with her eyes closed, "Yes, Scar-Eye."

"Where are your hunting parties?" Scar-Eye questions as he starts to pace in front of her. Then he accused with a snarl, "They're not doing their job."

"Scar-Eye, there is no food." Eda said while not opening her eyes. Then she tells him, "All of the herds have moved on. And the other predators haven't informed us of anything new."

"No!" Scar-Eye growled with a shake of his head. He looked to her and said, "You're just not looking hard enough for prey." He narrowed his eyes as he brought up, "And speaking of looking hard enough, you haven't heard anything from Scales."

"She told us that she was going off somewhere else to hunt. She didn't say how long that she would be gone." Eda said, covering for the younger Sharptooth. Scar-Eye huffed and then began pacing around again. Then getting back to the former topic she said, "And as for finding enough food, it is over, Scar-Eye." She looked to him as she stated, "The Great Valley has nothing left, for us or the Leaf Eaters." She then suggested to the mad king, "We only have one choice left if we are to live. We must leave Fang Rock, the Great Valley and search elsewhere for food."

"We're not going anywhere." Scar-Eye snarled as he turned to her. Eda glared at him as she spat, "Then you have sentenced everyone here to death!"

"Then so be it." Scar-Eye said while getting up in her face, shocking her further. He walked around her as Eda became disgusted with how he was acting and argued, "You can't do that! What about your subjects down there? What about your people? I thought that you wanted to be a great king."

"I am a great King and I can do whatever I wish. My word is law and we are staying right here in the Great Valley. And we are staying here at Fang Rock!" Scar-Eye said while making himself look strong and staring out to the horizon. Now truly angry with him, Eda then growled, "If you were truly half the king as Rex once was…"

Scar-Eye's face twisted into a snarl and he turned to Eda while slapping her in the face with his tail and roared in anger, "I am ten times the king Rex was! And I am ten times the king that my father was!"

Eda quickly found her footing before looking at Scar-Eye with a growl. She charged at him, and he met her half-way by charging forward as well. Their bodies collided while the Fast Biters down below looked on with sadistic grins. The two Big Biters bit and clawed at the other as they tried to push each other over, but it was Eda who was quickly losing ground. Scar-Eye was able to wrap his tail around one of her legs and trip her up a bit. As Eda tried to balance herself, Scar-Eye then quickly turned around and smacked her in the face with his tail again. The blow sent Eda tumbling along the ground. The former queen came to a stop on her side and didn't move. Scar-Eye huffed before taking a step towards her. Chomper leapt on top of the rock he was hiding behind and let loose of anger. Then jumping again he landed on the ledge below him and started to run down the path.

Scar-Eye looked to the path in shock and was surprised to see a fully grown purple Sharptooth running towards him. The black Sharptooth then growled to him, "Who are you?"

Chomper ignored his uncle and went straight up to his mother's still form. He leaned down and nuzzled her head with his own. Eda groaned as she stirred. She looked up to the Big Biter standing over her. Because of the lighting she thought she was staring at, "Rex?"

"No." Chomper said while shaking his head. He smiled as he revealed, "It's me."

"Chomper?" Eda gasped as she got a better look at her only son. She smiled when she said, "You're alive?" But then became confused when she said, "How can that be?"

"It doesn't matter." Chomper shook his head, not caring about that. He nuzzled her again and said, "What's important now is that I'm home."

Eda returned the nuzzle and the two became happy at their reunion. Scar-Eye got a better look at the purple Big Biter standing before him and asked, "Chomper?" He put on a fake smile and he said, "Chomper! I'm a little surprised to see you here…" His smile faded as he looked up to three Fast Biters and added with a growl, "Alive."

Clawdette, Leaper and Scratch all gulped loudly on a ledge before backing up into the shadows. Thunder boomed overhead as Chomper walked away from his mother while Eda watched his march as Chomper growled to Scar-Eye, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't rip you apart."

"Oh, Chomper." Scar-Eye said as he tried to be civil, "You must understand." He looked at his nephew straight in the eye while saying, "The pressures of ruling over a kingdom-"

"Are no longer yours." Chomper said as he stopped in front of his uncle. Then he said, "I have come to reclaim the throne. You need to step down, Scar-Eye."

"Well, I would, naturally. However," Scar-Eye said with a chuckle. But his smile faded and he glanced up while saying, "there is one problem. Do you see all of them."

Chomper looked up just as a flash of lightning revealed a large horde of Fast Biters standing on a few ledges above them. They all growled as they looked down at him with wicked grins. Chomper looked back to Scar-Eye with a glare as the older Sharptooth said, "They believe that I am the King."

"Well, we don't." Scales said from behind Chomper. The purple Big Biter and Scar-Eye both looked back to see the rest of the Big Biter pack and Chomper's friends all gathered behind Chomper. Two Big Biters were helping Eda back onto her feet. Scales then added, "Chomper is the rightful King."

"The choice is yours, Scar-Eye." Chomper said as he moved in front of the older dinosaur's line of sight. He then issued the challenge, "You can either step down or fight for the crown."

"Well, while I do enjoy a good tussle…" Scar-Eye said as he now had one last trick up his sleeve. He moved around the younger Big Biter and said, "But must this all even in violence? I would hate to be responsible for the death of a family member." He moved over to the pack while glancing back and he asked, "Wouldn't you agree, Chomper?"

"That's not gonna work on me, Scar-Eye." Chomper shook his head, knowing that Scar-Eye was trying to bring out her guilt but stood strong while firmly stating, "I've put it behind me."

"Oh, but what about your faithful subjects?" Scar-Eye asked as he walked right up to the pack. He stopped in front of Eda, Scales and Littlefoot as he asks, "Have they put it behind them?"

Scales became confused by what Scar-Eye was saying, even though Littlefoot somewhat knew what the black Big Biter was saying. Scales then looked to her best friend and asked, "Chomper, what is he talking about?"

"Oh, my." Scar-Eye said as he had come back to Chomper and was circling the purple Big Biter. Now having the advantage, Scar-Eye then said, "So you haven't told them your little secret, dear nephew.

"Well, Chomper," Scar-Eye said as Chomper slightly looked down in guilt. A with smirk Scar-Eye walked back towards the pack as the horde of Fast Biters watched with wide grins. The black Big Biter Sharptooth looked back and said, "here is your chance to tell them now."

He dropped his smirk while glancing to his nephew and saying aloud, "Go ahead and tell everyone who here is responsible for Rex's death."

This caused Eda, Scales, the pack and Chomper's friends to look to Chomper with newfound shock. Chomper remained stoic for a moment before taking a deep breath and stepping forward while saying, "I am."

Silent gasps went through all of Chomper's support. But none were more shocked than Eda and Scales. Eda quickly walked up to her son while Scales stayed where she was as she finally realized why Chomper had stayed away. Littlefoot felt that he should say something, but couldn't find the words to help his friend. Eda came up to her son and said with a broken heart, "It isn't true." She took a step forward and he backed up when she asked him, "Please, tell me that it isn't true."

Chomper looked his mother in the eye before shamefully hanging her head and admitted, "It is. It's all true."

"You see?" Scar-Eye questions to everyone, making Chomper and everyone look to the black Big Biter, "He admits to killing the king!" Thunder boomed overhead when he glared at Chomper and growled, "Murderer!"

"No!" Chomper shook his head as Scar-Eye walked back over to him. Eda walked back to the others as they all watched the interrogation. Chomper tried to defend himself, "It was an accident. I promise!"

"If it weren't for you, Rex would still be alive today." Scar-Eye angrily said as he continued to circle Chomper. Then he accused the younger Sharptooth, "It's your fault that he's dead!" Then he questioned, "Do you deny it?"

"No." Chomper said, taking responsibility for what had happened. Scar-Eye then glared as he growled, "Then… YOU… are… GUILTY!"

"No, I'm not a murderer!" A wide eyed Chomper said.

Another boom of thunder and a flash of lightning and Scar-Eye was making Chomper walk backwards along the edge of Fang Rock. The pack and Chomper's friends could only watch with fear as the Fast Biters stood behind the black Sharptooth. Redclaw had appeared when the interrogation had started and looked on with a stoic look. Scar-Eye had a disappointed look on his face as he somewhat taunted, "Oh, Chomper, here you are in trouble again," They stopped at the edge as Scar-Eye continued to play it like it was completely Chomper's fault, "But unfortunately this time, Daddy Rex isn't here to save you," Scar-Eye got up in Chomper's face as he said, "And now… EVERYONE… knows… WHY!" On the last word he used his head to knock Chomper down. Chomper gasped as he fell to the ground and a few small rocks tumbled off the ledge. Scales then cried out in fear, "Chomper!"

A bolt of lightning struck some dried brush underneath the ledge and set it ablaze. Everything, from Fang Rock and the surrounding area, took on a fiery, red hue as the flames continued to burn all the dried-out plants. Chomper looked up to his uncle as Scar-Eye then said, "Now this here sure looks a little familiar." Scar-Eye said as he pretended to think, "Where exactly have I seen this situation before?" Chomper started to rise to his feet again as Scar-Eye kept trying to think, "Hmm."

Chomper still rose to his feet as Scar-Eye continued to think. Then with a surprised look on his face, he looked down to Chomper, "Oh, now I remember." His gaze darkened while he had a slight smile, "This is just how your father looked before he died that day."

Just as Chomper was standing at his full height, Scar-Eye lunged forward with his jaws and shoved Chomper back down. Chomper roared in pain from the teeth and winced in pain from being forced back down. When Scar-Eye released him, he looked up to his uncle as Scar-Eye then placed his foot against his side and then said, "And now here's my little secret. Something to give you, dear nephew." Scar-Eye then leaned to his nephew's ear and whispered, "I killed Rex."

Chomper's eyes widened as he thought back to that day when he had lost his father. Anger began to well up in him over the fact he had lost his father, the fact that Scar-Eye made him believe that it was all his fault and that he had been carrying guilt that wasn't real. He thought of that day when Rex fell into the gorge and then screamed with his past self, "No!"

Quickly getting up, he surprised Scar-Eye when he used his own head to knock the older Big Biter onto his back. Scar-Eye grunted from the landing and Chomper then planted his foot against his uncle's chest. Looking down at his uncle Chomper growled, "Murderer!"

The Big Biter pack and their friends looked at the scene in shock while the Fast Biters and Redclaw all glared. Looking up to his nephew, Scar-Eye then pleaded, "No, Chomper, please."

"Tell them the truth." Chomper ordered with a growl. Scar-Eye chuckled and said, "The truth?" He then made it sound like he had the higher ground by saying, "But the truth is in the eye of the beho-" He was suddenly cut off when Chomper moved his foot to Scar-Eye's throat and applied pressure on it. He gagged before saying, "All right." Chomper applied a little more pressure and Scar-Eye gagged again before glaring up at him and said, "All right." He narrowed his eyes while saying, "I did it."

"So they all can hear you, Scar-Eye." Chomper ordered and narrowed his eyes as well. Scar-Eye started off slow as he said, "I killed-" He leaned up and roared in Chomper's face, "Rex!"

"Everyone, attack!" Scales said to those who supported Chomper. They all charged forward as the Fast Biters ran towards Chomper. Scar-Eye smiled as they leapt at Chomper and their combined weight was enough to knock Chomper onto his back. The Fast Biters continued to converge on the downed prince while Chomper roared in pain from the bites and slashes from them. But Chomper was quickly saved when Scales ran up and used her tail to knock one aside. The entire pack came to battle and entered the frenzy as the Fast Biters soon turned to fight them. While the Big Biters were taking care of the Fast Biters closer to Chomper, Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike were taking care of the ones along the edge. Littlefoot used his tail to whip some away, Cera used her head bash through some of the ranks and Ducky started wrestling with one. As for Spike and Petrie, the Spiketail was currently charging through the crowd of Fast Biters while Petrie shouted, "Excuse us! Pardon us! We coming through! Whoo!"

Spike turned a full three hundred sixty circle and used his tail to knock a few down. Petrie then flew up and grabbed a few by their tails before lifting them over the edge and dropping them. The five then ran off to continue the battle. After having gotten up, Chomper helped out by chasing after a trio of Fast Biters when one pounced on him from behind and bit his side. Chomper quickly turned his head and bit into its side in retaliation before throwing the yelping smaller dinosaur away. Another one came up to try and bite his face, but Chomper used his head to knock him back before using his tail to swat the Fast Biter away. As he continued to defend himself from a few more Fast Biters, one Fast Biter was sneaking up from behind on a ledge. Choosing its moment, the Fast Biter pounced and landed on Chomper's back. Chomper roared in pain as the Fast Biter reached around and bit at her throat. Luckily for her, a staff whacked the Fast Biter on the head and knocked it out. Chomper looked up to see Ruby and a Rainbow Face standing on the ledge as they both raised their staves high over their heads and gave wild screeches.

The two leapt down from the ledge and landed amongst five Fast Biters and stood with serious looks while holding their staves in a fighters stance. The Fast Biters came at them. A Fast Biter came at Ruby from behind but the Fast Runner jumped up while doing a back flip while striking it in the back of the head. The Fast Biter fell on its face and slid forward on the ground. Then she made Kung Fu noises while she whacked one while back kicking another in the face. Her mentor did a spin kick to a Fast Biter while another one tried to come in from the side. But Rai took his staff with both hands before using the broad side to jab one of the Fast Biters in the throat. The shaman Rainbow Face used the end of his staff for another throat jab to another Fast Biter. The two relaxed their guards when it appeared that there were no more enemies to fight. But somehow knowing, Ruby struck a Fast Biter square in the face with her hand clenched when it tried to come up behind them. Rai looked to Ruby and said, "Good work, Ruby."

"I aim to please." Was all she said before they continued to engage the enemy.

Scales flattened a Fast Biter under her foot and swatted another away with her head. The sound of footfalls caused her to look up to see Redclaw running right at her. But before he could lay a claw on her, Roberta came running up and collided with the scarred Big Biter. Redclaw grunted when he fell onto his side. Roberta then snarled, "Traitor! You were in league with Scar-Eye."

"Since the beginning, yes." Redclaw admitted. With a shrug as he stood up he said, "Do I agree with everything that he's done, not fully. But I do accept him as my king."

"Then you no longer have a place amongst us." Scales said as she stood with her mother. Redclaw snarled before the three charged at each other. Roberta collided against Redclaw and was able to push him back before Scales rushed in and turned to use her tail to knock him further back. Scales then came at him again and landed a scratch on the scarred grey Big Biter's shoulder. Redclaw roared in pain from the blow but it left him open to another bash from Roberta's tail this time. The blow sent Redclaw staggering to his left and both mother and daughter pushed Redclaw off the edge. Redclaw screamed as he fell from the ledge and disappeared into the smoke and flames. Scales and Roberta looked to each other before charging back into the fray.

The dinosaurs loyal to Chomper had chased most of the Fast Biters off but kept it up since there plenty to battle. Petrie and Spike were currently running for their lives as they were being chased by Clawdette, Screech, Thud and Leaper. Spike moved his tail out of the way when Leaper tried to take a bite out of it. The two fled into a cave, which turned out to be Scar-Eye's quarters, and Pterano was still within his cage. The Flier then cried out, "Let me out! Let me out!"

Spike and Petrie stopped to see that they were cornered. They looked back to see the four Fast Biters menacingly stalking towards them. But before they could get close enough, they heard a voice shout from behind, "You leave our friends alone!"

They all looked to the entrance to see Cera and Ducky standing there while glaring at the Fast Biters. Leaper then taunted, "Well, look what we have here. A Big Mouth and a Threehorn, have come to the rescue."

"That's right." Cera said as she lowered her head and got ready to charge. Ducky hopped up on her back as the Threehorn then yelled, "And HERE WE COME!"

The two then shouted at the top of their lungs, "AAAHHH!"

All four Fast Biters' faces fell as they came straight at them. The other two also charged at them and they entered a brawl. Petrie grabbed onto Leaper and started to peck at his head with his beak. Spike swatted Screech away with his tail while Cera rammed into Clawdette. Ducky followed up by jumping off the Threehorn's back and dropped kicked Thud. The four Fast Biters tumbled to the ground and the four friends continued their beat down. After getting knocked around a bit more, the four ended up in a pile together. Spike then questioned with a smirk, "Had enough, striped losers?"

"Cause there's a lot more where that came from." Cera said with a snort from her nostrils. The four Fast Biter rose up on their feet and snarled as they prepared themselves to keep on fighting. The four friends yelled once again before charging forward at them.

Outside, Scratch could hear the commotion from inside the cave. Bones and rocks flew out of the cave as the sounds of crashing and smacking could be heard from the inside. During the confusion, he could hear Pterano's voice joining in, "Take that, you stupid brutes!"

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" Leaper cried out as his head was getting pecked at by both Petrie and Pterano. Spike repeatedly slammed his tail down on Screech and Thud while shouting, "Take that! And that!"

The beat down was enough to make the four Fast Biters run out of the cave. Clawdette and Leaper crashed into Scratch before Screech and Thud made the tangle much worse. The five Fast Biters all whimpered while struggling to get out before untangling themselves and they all ran off. Cera, Petrie, Ducky, Spike and Pterano came running out while Cera shouted, "Get out of here, ya yellow-bellies!"

"And don't come back!" Spike added. Pterano looked to the Flier of the group and asked, "What's your name, young fellow?"

"My name?" Petrie asked. Then he said, "My name Petrie."

"Wait, Petrie?" Pterano said in shock. Placing his clawed hands on his chest as he told them, "Petrie, it's me, your Uncle Pterano."

"Uncle Pterano!" Petrie shouted as he hugged the uncle he hadn't seen in years. Cera then said, "Not that this reunion isn't touching, we need to be getting back into the fight."

"Oh, right." Both Fliers said before they gave roars or screeches and rushed back into the fray.

One Big Biter grabbed a Fast Biter away and was tackled by a few more while Chomper ran around looking for his treacherous uncle. He looked about the battle and could see mostly Big Biters, Longneck, Threehorn, Fliers, Big Mouth, Spiketail, Fast Runner and Rainbow Face fighting against Fast Biters. When he turned his head at the right moment, a flash of lightning revealed the black Big Biter currently knocking a green Big Biter to the ground. Scar-Eye snarled when he looked to his nephew and started to move towards the younger dinosaur. But before he could try and lay a claw on his nephew, a brown tail wrapped around his leg and tripped him up. Scar-Eye fell to the ground with a grunt and looked back to see Littlefoot towering over him. The Longneck was glaring at him as he said, "I'll finish you before Chomper can get to you himself."

"Confident for a Leaf Eater aren't you?" Scar-Eye questioned as he stood up on his feet again. Littlefoot snorted in anger and said, "I'm going to avenge all those that you've wronged."

"We shall see." Scar-Eye growled. He smirked when he said, "The strong deserve to conquer the weak."

"The only one who's weak here is you." Littlefoot said and narrowed his eyes. Scar-Eye roared in anger to the insult and charged at the Longneck. Scar-Eye tried to take a bite out of Littlefoot, but the Longneck was able to move his head out of the way before quickly turning around and smacking his tail against the Big Biter. Scar-Eye roared in pain before retaliating by lunging at his foe and hitting Littlefoot with his head. Littlefoot fell onto his side and Scar-Eye moved to attack again, but Littlefoot was ready and rolled out of the way when the Sharptooth's jaws came down. Scar-Eye was able to prevent his mouth from smashing into the ground, but was caught off guard when Littlefoot's tail once again came at him. This time, the Longneck used the thicker part of his tail to knock Scar-Eye back. The Big Biter stopped his stumbling and looked to the Longneck with a snarl. An idea coming to him, Scar-Eye started to charge at Littlefoot again and the Longneck prepared himself. But when he swung his tail again, Scar-Eye was ready that time and stomped down hard on Littlefoot's tail. The Longneck bellowed in pain but was left open to an attack.

Chomper had been able to move through the crowds when he witnessed his uncle dealing a cruel blow to his friend. Raising his arm as high as it would go, Scar-Eye brought it down and it scratched the right side of Littlefoot's head. Littlefoot bellowed in pain from his wound and Scar-Eye followed up by swinging around and using his tail to knock the Longneck over. Littlefoot grunted when he fell to the ground and looked up to his opponent with his unclosed eye. Scar-Eye grinned as if he were going to end Littlefoot's life, but a shout from behind stopped him, "Scar-Eye!"

The black Sharptooth looked behind him to see Chomper making his way towards him. Chomper then growled, "Get away from him."

"As you wish, dear nephew." Scar-Eye said and stepped away from Littlefoot, but not before swatting Littlefoot in the head as an insult to injury. Chomper snarled in anger to that and then said, "Your reign of terror is over, Scar-Eye."

"What? No, dear uncle?" Scar-Eye questioned with a smirk. Then he asked, "Surely, you don't think that you can defeat me, the fiercest Sharptooth in the entire Great Valley and most of the Mysterious Beyond?"

"I won't know until I try." Chomper said with a determined glare. Scar-Eye then growled, "I wish that those bumbling Fast Biters had done away with you when they were told. When this is over, I will make sure they are punished for it."

"Not very nice to talk about your friends that way." Chomper said with narrowed eyes. The two circled each other as they began to fight. Scar-Eye scoffed and said, "Friends? They are nothing more than pawns that are meant to serve me. And they can't even follow my commands to the letter if they allow you to live. They might as well still be enemies of the valley."

Unbeknownst to either of the two Big Biters, Clawdette, Leaper and Scratch were watching from a ledge behind. The two males looked to their leader and she ordered, "Pull back, and round up everyone whose still alive."

"You got something in mind?" Leaper questioned as they disappeared into the shadows. She only nodded as they all started growling from Scar-Eye's betrayal.

Down with the two Big Biters, Chomper and Scar-Eye continued circle each other. The two Sharpteeth then roared before charging at each other. The two Big Biters' bodies clashed together and the two tried to push each other over. But Scar-Eye was caught off guard when a tail wrapped around his ankle. Scar-Eye yelped when he was tripped and crashed to the ground. Looking up, he could see that most of the pack and Chomper's friends were no longer fighting his army. Scar-Eye looked about and couldn't see any of the Fast Biters around. He growled as he said, "I don't understand. Where are my forces? Why aren't they killing you all off?"

"Because we chased them off." Cera said with a smirk. Scales then said, "You're all alone, Scar-Eye, so just give it up."

"Never!" Scar-Eye snarled. Then he said, "The right to rule was mine when I hatched. My brother nor you had the right to take it away from me!"

"But Odin only gave it to your brother because he had shown what it took to be king." Rai said as he stood amongst the circle of dinosaurs. Then he said, "You only acquired the throne by deceitful means and ruled with a cruel fist."

"Only because the strong deserve to rule over the weak." Scar-Eye argued with a glare. But then he grinned and said, "But there is one way for me keep my claim on the throne."

Rai, Ruby and Eda's eyes widened as they knew what he was talking about. Scar-Eye looked to his nephew and then said, "I challenge you. One on one, to a duel for the throne."

Chomper knew that this fight could be life or death for him. But he also knew that if he didn't fight and stop his uncle, then Scar-Eye would go somewhere else and do the same thing to someone else. Taking a deep breath, Chomper then said, "I accept."

The pack and his friends gasped to his decision. Eda came up to her son and asked, "Do you have any idea what you're agreeing to?"

"I do." Chomper nodded. His uncle snorted with his arrogant grin before walking off from the crowd. This confused Chomper and he asked, "Why aren't we fighting here and now?"

"This kind of fight must be done where no help is given for either side." Rai informed the prince. Chomper became a little worried about it, but took a deep breath as he was determined to avenge everything that his uncle had wronged; his home, his family and his father. Chomper walked through the crowd and followed his uncle. He saw that Scar-Eye was taking the path that would lead to the top of Fang Rock. Chomper followed after him and even started running when his uncle did. Chomper guessed that his uncle wanted to get this over with as much as he did.

The flames were still burning all over Fang Rock as Scar-Eye jumped over a crevice just as the flames rose higher. Walking over to the edge, the black scaled Sharptooth looked over the side and could see the crowd gathered at the bottom of this ledge. With a sadistic grin, Scar-Eye began to plan out how he would display his victory once he had defeated Chomper. And he didn't have to wait long, for a roar behind him made him look back. He watched as Chomper was able to leap through the flames and landed with a loud thud. He opened his eyes and looked to his uncle as he angrily growled, "Murderer."

"I must say that I'm impressed." Scar-Eye admitted. Then he asked, "Are you sure that you're his son?"

"You don't deserve to live." Chomper said as he menacingly walked up to his uncle. Scar-Eye then asked, "Tell me, Chomper. Would you kill me, your own uncle?"

This caused Chomper to stop on his tracks as he thought about what his uncle was saying to him. The purple Sharptooth knew that if he did win and kill his uncle, then he would be no better than Scar-Eye. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Chomper found his resolve and decided to be better than Scar-Eye. With a grim frown, Chomper opened his eyes again and looked to his uncle and said, "No, Scar-Eye. I'm nothing like you."

"Now that is a pity." Scar-Eye commented. Then he questioned, "Do you really think that you can stand against me? For if you should lose, then you will only have but your," He glared as he shouted, "DEATH!"

"At least I have those who will always see me as their king." Chomper confidently stated. Scar-Eye only huffed as they prepared themselves. Chomper and Scar-Eye started to walk around in a circle while growling and glaring at each other. Scar-Eye then noticed a pile of smoldering ashes on the ground and an idea formed in his head. When he stopped in front of the pile ashes, Chomper stopped as well. Scar-Eye then said, "I want to give you one last chance to back down, dear nephew."

"No you don't." Chomper said with a glare. Then he said, "But whether you back down or lose, you're going to run away, Scar-Eye." Then he said, "And you will never return."

"Yes," Scar-Eye said as he remembered his exact words bowed his head. Then he said, "As you wish…" His face turned into a scowl as he glanced behind him and he said, "YOUR MAJESTY!"

Then with one fluid motion with his tail, Scar-Eye sent the smoldering embers towards Chomper. Chomper's glaring face turned into one of pain as the coals landed on his snout and near his eyes. He gave a pained roar from the burning heat and shook his head to get rid of the coals. But this distraction was all Scar-Eye needed to attack. Scar-Eye rushed forward and used his shoulder to knock Chomper down. But Chomper was able to retaliate by kicking his uncle away as he fell onto his side. Scar-Eye crashed to the ground a second after him. But as they started to get back up, Scar-Eye quickly got back up on his feet and lunged with his jaws wide open. He latched his jaws around the back of Chomper's neck. Chomper roared in pain and Scar-Eye growled while landing a few scratches with his claws. Chomper tried to dislodge his uncle's teeth from him by quickly rolling over onto his side. It worked for a minute, but as he rose to his feet Scar-Eye was able to get back up and used his head to knock him onto his back. Scar-Eye then acted by stepping onto Chomper's belly and lunging down with his teeth. He bit on the underside of Chomper's throat. But before the older Sharptooth could do any real damage, Chomper was able to twist his belly to where his uncle's foot slipped off to the side and he used both feet to kick Scar-Eye off of him. The black scaled Sharptooth crashed to the ground again as Chomper picked himself back up. The two stood up again and looked to each other with glares. The two rushed at each other once again before lowering their heads and coming together in an epic clash. They backed away and shook their heads from the blow. The two then clashed their bodies together and tried to push each other while also scratching their claws and biting with their jaws. While their claws were able to land scratches, their teeth only grazed the back of their necks and their shoulders. Chomper then used his three fingered hands to push his uncle away from him. Then in one quick motion, Chomper used his tail to swat his uncle in the face. Scar-Eye stumbled from the blow before Chomper ran up to him and jumped into the air. He was able to maneuver to where he drop kicked his uncle in the belly. Scar-Eye crashed down to the ground again and Chomper rushed in and buried his teeth into his uncle's back. Scar-Eye roared in pain from his nephew's attack and struggled to get up, but Chomper used his strength to keep him down. Scar-Eye used his left claws to scratch at Chomper's feet, but it didn't make the purple Sharptooth loosen his grip. Scar-Eye then wiggled a little and though it caused a little pain when the teeth cut through more flesh, it gave Scar-Eye room to move his head. He lunged his teeth at Chomper's leg and Chomper was able to move fast enough to avoid being bitten, but in doing so he let loose his grip on his uncle. Scar-Eye rose on his feet with a grin before elbowing his nephew in the face as best as he could. Chomper stumbled from the blow to the face and Scar-Eye once again knocked into him. Both Sharpteeth went down with a crash and Scar-Eye once again stood over his nephew. But before Scar-Eye could lunge for his throat once more, Chomper was able to bring his legs up and slam them into his uncle's gut. Scar-Eye fell backwards while Chomper got back up on his own feet. Scar-Eye rolled away from his nephew before rising back onto his own two feet as well. Chomper came rushing up again and their bodies clashed again. Chomper slammed his knee into his uncle's gut while Scar-Eye sunk his teeth into nephew's shoulder. Chomper retaliated from that by burying his own teeth into the back of Scar-Eye's neck. When they released each other, the two Big Biters backed away from each other. They glared as they prepared for their final clash. Time seemed to slow down as Chomper and Scar-Eye rushed at each other. Their heads once again clashed with brute force. When they took a step back they continued to fight. Scar-Eye was able to land a strike by slashing his two-clawed hands on Chomper's shoulder and the purple Sharptooth roared in pain. Chomper was quickly able to land a blow by harshly stomping on Scar-Eye's foot. Scar-Eye backed away and Chomper followed up with a full turn of his body and slapped his uncle in the face with his tail. Scar-Eye cringed from the blow with a growl. But he quickly followed up by turning his body and slapping his tail against Chomper's face. Chomper growled in pain from the blow as it caused a little blood to fly from his mouth. Scar-Eye then did it again with a much stronger blow with his tail. The blow sent Chomper flying through a wall of flames. He felt lucky that he hadn't been burned by the fire. He crashed onto his back and when he looked up but gasped at what he saw. Chomper Scar-Eye leaping through the flames at him with a snarl and had every intention of finishing him off. But Chomper's eyes narrowed as he new what to do. As Scar-Eye came down on him, Chomper put his back feet against Scar-Eye's belly and used the older Sharptooth's momentum against him as he threw a surprised Scar-Eye over the edge of Fang Rock.

Scar-Eye roughly tumbled down the slope and landed hard at the bottom. He had landed in a secluded part of Fang Rock where the walls were high and there was only way out. Chomper rolled on to is belly and looked down to see if his uncle had survived the fall. Even though he knew that more than likely that his uncle had survived, Chomper knew that he had won the fight. He stood to his full height and let loose a roar of victory. When it ended, he turned and walked away from the ledge.

Down below at the ledge, the pack and Chomper's friends were somewhat able to watch the battle between Chomper and Scar-Eye. They could see a few good blows from both combatants and they all began to worry when they couldn't see them anymore. Just when they thought that they started to fear the worst, a roar of victory sounded from the top. But they all heard that it was Chomper's roar, meaning that he had been victorious against his treacherous uncle. Scales looked to Eda and asked, "Do you think that Scar-Eye is still alive?"

"If he is…" Eda started to say. Her eyes narrowed as she said, "Then he's more than likely going to get what's coming to him."

Scar-Eye laid there on the ground in pain from both the fall and from his battle with Chomper, but was able to find the strength to rise up again. He took a deep breath before saying, "I got to hand it to that boy, he sure did surprise me there in the end."

When he moved into a sitting position, he looked out to the opening and saw something coming from the flames. He could see the shapes of the Fast Biters walking through. He grinned as he thought that he had a way to rise to power again. But he didn't notice the grim frown on their faces. Scar-Eye then smiled as he said, "Greetings my friends. Good to see that you weren't run off completely."

"We wasn't run off." Leaper informed. Clawdette jumped onto a rock and then said, "We made a tactical retreat." She then scratched her chin while saying, "But you're statement's confusing me." Looking to her clanmates she said, "'Cause I thought that he said that we were with the enemy."

"Yeah." Screech's voice said as he jumped up onto the rock with Clawdette. Scar-Eye's widened to this as Leaper then nodded, "I sure heard that when he said it."

Thud walked up onto the scene as they all looked to Scratch and then asked, "Scratch?"

The crazed Fast Biter only gave a crazed laugh as more Fast Biters started to converge into the space. Scratch then licked his lips as they were all looking at a meal before them. Scar-Eye then glared as he said, "You all will fall back in line. I am your leader! I am your superior!"

"Maybe once." Clawdette said as she jumped off the rock. But she then growled as she said, "But even you are no match for the entire Fast Biter pack."

She gave out a screech for the pack to attack. All the Fast Biters rushed forward at the Big Biter with thoughts of filling their hunger the only thing on their minds at the moment. Scar-Eye was able to swat a few of them away with either his head or his tail, but soon they became too much for him when a multitude jumped onto his back and bit down. Scar-Eye roared in pain from the bites and slashes from his former allies. The burning flames grew higher as Scar-Eye was soon covered in Fast Biters. He roared in pain from all the bites and scratches that he sustained. Soon, his evil was snuffed out and his reign of terror was over. Scar-Eye closed his scarred eye as his life faded forever.

Author's Note: And with that, the battle is over. But the story's not done yet. I have been getting requests to do the sequel, and I am thinking about it. If I do a sequel, then I have a few good surprises in mind. Hope I made the fight scene between Chomper and Scar-Eye pretty good. And yes, I did make Scar-Eye's jump through the fire like how Sharptooth did in the first LBT movie. And I do apologize for what happened to Littlefoot, but it's all part of the plan.
