Brittney, Ashley and Sabrina walked out of the Butterfly house and began walking down the street. Rounding the corner, they saw the same crater from earlier with the same boy inside of it, looking through the rubble, "Hey," Ashley spoke and he looked back up with wide eyes, "What are you do-"
"Nothing!" the boy snapped as he turned and continue to look through the rubble, "Where is it, damnit? It had to have dropped somewhere in this damn hole…idiots had to drop me that high…fucking bastards," Sabrina looked down and spotted a silver chain resting at her feet.
Picking it up, she saw a dragon pendent attached to the chain before looking back up, "Excuse me?" the boy looked back up in annoyance as Sabrina held the chain up, "Is this what you're looking for?" running over to her, he snatched the chain from her and Sabrina narrowed her eyes, "Uh, you're welcome,"
Sighing, the boy shook his head as he placed the necklace around his neck, "I'm sorry, but this is very important to me and I wouldn't know what I'd do if I lost it," looking up, he narrowed his eyes, "My name's Marco and…wasn't there four of you?"
"Brittney Wong, Sabrina Backintosh and Ashley Dingley," Brittney introduced everyone, "And you're talking about Star Butterfly…she's home and we need to get home ourselves…what about you? Do we get a last name or something?"
"I gave you my name and that's more than enough," Marco turned his back towards the three and inhaled slowly, "Listen, pretend you didn't see me. It'll be better that way,"
"But why?" Ashley questioned and Marco looked over his shoulder and glared at the glasses wearing teen, "And how did you survive a thousand foot drop and brushed it off like it was not-" Marco chuckled, which turned into a fit of laughter, confusing the three, "What's so funny?"
Marco soon stopped laughing as he sighed and looked up at the night sky, "You girls should be getting home. It's dangerous at night," Marco began walked away, leaving the three stunned. Stopping, he looked back and held up his pendent, "Thanks for finding this. I owe you, Sabrina," Sabrina's eyes widened as they watched as Marco turned and continued to walk away, "Now get home, your families must be worried about you," Marco stopped and looked over his shoulder again to see Brittney, Sabrina and Ashley walking away and a scowl crossed his face, "Families? What does that word even mean? Heh, no matter, I should get going before-"
"Hey loser," he growled as he looked up to see a boy around his age with greasy hair standing in front of him, "Where do you think you're going?" Marco narrowed his eyes as he tightened his fists, "I said where do you think you're going? What are you deaf or some-"
"Foolish human," Marco smirked and the teenager jumped back when he saw fangs aligning in his mouth, "You've picked the wrong one to mess with tonight," the teenager screamed as Marco rushed towards him.
Brittney walked through the front door and sighed before closing and locking it behind her, "Getting in a little late, huh Brittney?" she looked up and saw her parents Henry and Jeri sitting in the living room, "What happened?"
Brittney sighed and shook her head, "We had dinner at Star's house, but before that, we met a strange boy and when me and Sabrina and Ashley were leaving, we met him again. He was looking for a necklace, and when Sabrina found it, he rudely grabbed it out of her hands before introducing himself as Marco…he said that the necklace was important to him before he told us to go home,"
"Well he was right to send you girls home, but he should've offered to walk you home instead," Jeri took a deep breath and shook her head as she crossed her arms, "As for the necklace…it could be a precious family heirloom and he didn't want anything to happen to it."
"Maybe…I'll be in my room," her parents nodded and watched as their only daughter walked up the stairs.
Sabrina stared up at the ceiling in her room as she laid in bed, wide awake, "He owes me? And what was with that necklace? What's so special about a piece of metal? He could easily replace it," turning on her side, she frowned as she nuzzled under the covers, "And why didn't he want to tell us more about him? What's his story?" she yawned a she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Ashley sat up on her bed and ran her fingers across the screen on her phone, texting Star, "His name is Marco," she sent the message and waited. A few moments later, her phone vibrated and she looked down, "Who's Marco?" Ashley sighed and responded, "The boy in the crater. We met up with him again. He was looking for a necklace and Sabrina found it. Before he left, he told us his name." sending the message, she waited.
Her phone vibrated and she read the message, "He actually talked? When we met him earlier, he ran off like he was scared or something. Did we offend him or something?" Ashley frowned and shook her head, "I don't know, all he did was tell us his name and thanked Sabrina for finding his necklace before telling us to go to home. He's a mysterious one," sending the messages, she leaned back against the headboard and waited.
"Well since we're off tomorrow, maybe we can go and look for him and have a conversation with him," Ashley took a deep breath, "Probably, but we have to be careful. We barely know anything about him and he's probably hiding something important," sending the message, she yawned as she took her glasses off before her phone vibrated, "Yeah, but you're the one who said he's mysterious, so he's bound to be keeping a few secrets," Ashley hummed before her phone vibrated again, "Anyway, the four of us will meet up by the crater tomorrow and go and look for Marco," Ashley silenced her phone before setting it down and laid down before closing her eyes.
Marco stood above the motionless, charred remains of the teenager and he smirked, "Fool, you could've lived at least another five years with your lifestyle, but approaching me was your grave mistake," looking up, he saw blue and red flashing lights as the sound of sirens filled the air, "Son of a bitch…I better leave before I get in trouble," grunting in pain, black angel wings shot out from his back and he panted before he turned and flew away from the body.
Second chapter is done. Enjoy.
