Why did this have to happen? Why now, of all times? A she-cat thought while walking through the shadowy forest, the bright full-moon's light made parts her white pelt shine as she continued walking, the shadows made her pelt look spotted. She should actually be at the gathering with the rest of her clan, but now during the current circumstances she and the other medicine cat in her clan had to stay behind. The white she-cat walked towards the stream seperating Thunderclan and Windclan territory. She could hear the tree's leaves russle in the wind as she walked up to the flowing stream, she looked down at it, all she saw was her reflection and the starlit sky above her. Even though the water was freezing cold now in leaf-bare she put her black tail-tip in the water, the feeling and sound of flowing water made her think more clearly.

I'm Thunderclan's medicine cat for Starclan's sake, I'm not supposed to feel this helpless! Warriors have been dying a lot this leaf-bare, and today we lost one more, oh Starclan why is this happening to us! Foxtail...Larkstrike... 3 days ago Larkstrike and his mate Foxtail had gone out to hunt, but while hunting they were attacked by 2 dogs who had run away from their twoleg. Foxtail died and Larkstrike survived but was critically injured. After days of non-stop treatment Larkstrike would survive, however, his wounds will never truly heal and as soon as he's out of the Medicine cat den, he will have to retire. After Foxtail's vigil, their daughters; Rosefur and Thornheart, had buried her, their mother's death affected them deeply and now they were spending more time than ever together.

I have seen so many cats die this moon, I was prepared for deaths, but not so many in such a short time... including my mother. The she-cat remembered her mother's last words which she had said the day the painful lump in her stomach took her life: "Snowpaw, remember that though I'm not physically here, my spirit will always be." Snowpaw, now Snowfall had hoped her mother's lump would just disappear with time, but instead it continued to grow and became more painful until it killed her. She's with Starclan now, she sees me, even though I can't see her.

Snowfall felt herself calming down and coming back to her senses, she looked up from the flowing ice-cold stream she'd been staring at for a long time now. Across the stream was the moor, Windclan's territory. There were to trees there, just grass, hills and flowers.

She stood up and was about to turn around to go back to camp when the sound of thunder distracted her for a second. Then she saw lightning strike a tree next to her, the lightning blinded her for a second but she quickly regained her sight, but when she saw what was in front of her she could only feel terror. The trees around her were in flames, the heat was almost unbearable for her while she saw the flame-covered leaves flying around her, the smoke around her made her cough and her eyes teared up. All she felt right now was stress and fear. She looked around for a way to escape, but to her horror she realized that she was surrounded by the flames. "Help!" Snowfall shouted as loud as she could while at the same time trying to not breathe in the black smoke, but the of flames and cracking wood covered up her screams of help. The fire got closer and closer to her, and the heat got more and more unbearable. In all of this Snowfall heard something she couldn't make out what it was saying, but she was sure of what it was... It's a voice! Snowfall concentrated now, forgetting about the flames around her she tried to make out what the voice was saying, but she couldn't. Her concentration was broken when she felt intense pain in her tail, she quickly realized that she was on fire. The fire quickly spread and it soon covered her whole body, her burning skin made her feel pain on a level she's never felt before and within a few seconds, her vision went black.

Snowfall felt her body shake as she open her eyes wide, just to see no flames, no lightning, no burning leaves, just... nothing. And the unbearable pain she felt just a moment ago was gone, all she felt was rain hitting her white pelt. Everything was normal, but something felt wrong. Lighning strike, flames, burning leaves... a vision. I have to tell Goldencloud! Snowfall quickly turned around and darted back to camp, with a memory she would never forget.
