Marco followed Star's parents down the hall of the school as he narrowed his eyes and looked around, "So…how long are you sentencing us here?" the two stopped and looked back at him in confusion, "I have issues when it comes to being confided into…any type of prison for an undisclosed amount of time an-"
"It's not prison, boy, it's just school, and you and the girls are only here for seven hours," Moon sighed and shook her head.
"And then we never have to come here a-"
"Five days a week," River interrupted, "You'll have Saturdays and Sundays to relax from your week at school, but there is a small problem that all of the parents have discussed at length about last night," Marco hummed and arched a brow, "Your Evil-Cycle. Do you know when it happens or-"
"One, you don't need to worry about that since I recently went through one and got all my stress out, two…it's random. It'll mainly happen if I'm under enough stress or angry enough to the point where my demonic side will come out to play. If I go thorough it while we're outside of school, it'll be best if I stay away until I work it out of my system…unless you want countless injuries of countless kids and adults, then that's fine too an-"
"We'll just call you out, and we'll have the girls keep an eye on you to make sure nothing happens in school, but quick question. How would we know you're going through an Evil-Cycle?"
"My eyes will darken and I'll have a real bad attitude towards…well, pretty much everyone around me and won't feel sorry about it," the two hummed and nodded, "So…why are you two here? Are you going to be like…following everyone around or something?"
"We need to register you in this school and talk to the principal, after that, we'll ask him to assign one of the girls are your guide to show you around and to make sure you stay out of trouble," Moon said, turning her back towards him and began walking away, "Come along, Marco," the hybrid sighed and nodded before he continued to follow the adults down the hall.
Marco stood in the courtyard with Star, Sabrina, Ashley and Brittney around him as he looked down at the schedule in his hands, "So…what's your first class?" Ashley questioned looking down at the schedule, "History…looks like you'll be with me and Sabrina,"
"Great,"
"Don't be like that, Marco," Sabrina slightly smiled and shook her head, "It'll be fine. History isn't that bad an-" before she could finish, a girl around their age with blonde hair walked up to them and Star, Sabrina, Ashley and Brittney glared at her with narrowed eyes, "What do you want, Jackie?"
"Hey…have any of you seen Blake?" she asked, shaking her head, "I haven't heard from him all weekend and…and-" she looked at Marco and a playful smirk crossed her lips as she stepped closer to him, "Hey there, stranger. What's your-"
"Not interested," Jackie's eyes widened as Marco narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, "You were just looking for someone named Blake,"
"Yeah, my brother an-"
"He's your boyfriend and you know it, Jackie," Star crossed her arms, "And we already told Marco about you two, so there's no way you can talk your way out of it," Jackie glared at her former friends before she turned and walked away in annoyance. The sound of the bell assaulted everyone's eardrums as Ashley took Marco by the arm and began pulled him towards the school while the others followed.
Marco sat between Sabrina and Ashley, a bored expression crossing his face as the teacher stood in the front of the class and spoke. Crossing his arms, he groaned as he leaned back against his chair, "This is so boring…is anyone even going to use this crap?"
"No, but you should pay attention, Marco," Sabrina quietly hissed and Marco looked at her, "You don't want to get in trouble on your first day…people might figure out what you are if you're not careful,"
"Don't really care, but…fine," Marco sighed and leaned forward, resting his arms on the surface of the desk, "How long are we in this damn class?"
"Forty minutes now stop complaining," Ashley hissed and Marco moaned before resting his chin on his arms.
The students sat in the courtyard as the warmth of the afternoon sun shined down on them. The four looked at Marco and Brittney took a deep breath, "So…how do you like it here so-"
"I hate it, I'm never coming back, I don't know why I agreed to this in the first place a-"
"Oh, is the new kid having a bad day," they looked up to see the entire football team approaching them and Marco tightened his fists as the blond jock stepped away from his teammates and leaned closer to Marco, "You better get a backbone, spineless jellyfish. Here's how the order is in this place, the athletes and cheerleaders are on top, then it's the student council and then after that it's the psycho loners and then-" before he could finish, his eyes widened as he doubled over in pain.
Everyone looked at Marco with shocked expressions as he rubbed his fist and shook his head, "I don't know who you are, but I don't care what you say. That order sounds like it can go straight to hell,"
"Mr. Marco!" they looked back to see a short, plump man approaching them, an angered expression crossing his face. Stopping in front of the hybrid, he narrowed his eyes, "Normally, causing a fight on schoolgrounds will lead to a suspension, but seeing as this is your first day, I'll let you off with a warning," Marco growled under his breath as the man looked at the four girls, "And as for you four, you're supposed to make sure he stays out of trouble an-"
"Hey!" everyone jumped as they looked at Marco again as he pointed towards the man, "Listen Skeeves, your beef is with me, not them. I chose to punch him. They didn't tell me to do anything." Brittney reached over, only to grab the air as Marco stepped towards the man, "If you want to threaten someone, threaten the one who caused the trouble, not the people around them,"
"I…I am the principal and I will be treated with-"
"-Respect? Fine, I'll treat you with respect as soon as you earn it, and that means punishing those who are responsible for causing trouble, not the people around them, don't accept bribes, see to it that no student is bullied just because of their appearance or their social status, and fix up this damn school like the principal should," the man looked up as his body shook and Marco narrowed his eyes and hissed, "We don't have a problem with that, do we?" the man shook his head as Marco turned and walked away and the girls followed him.
Rounding the corner, the four stepped in front of Marco and Star hissed, "Are you insane! What if you had gone through an Evil-Cycle while talking to the principal? Do you want to be exposed?"
"Like I told your parents this morning, Star, it's far too soon to go into another Evil-Cycle," Marco shook his head, "I recently got out of one and I don't have the stress or anger in me to even consider going through another cycle. However, what I told him is true. He shouldn't have threatened you four. You did nothing wrong. I chose to punch that muscle headed idiot, none of you told me to do that,"
"Even still, he's right. We're supposed to try and keep you out of trouble, and going around and picking fights isn't something you should do," Sabrina took a deep breath, "But the damage is already done so…let's just forget about it," Marco hummed and nodded as the five of them turned and walked away.
Well…this was a fun chapter to write…enjoy.
