However, with this chapter, I am going to put a warning. So...

Kurai woke up as the light of the sun hit his eyes. He groaned and sat up. The Sora look alike plagued his mind as he headed to the freshwater spring. He knew something about Kurai's past. About whom Kurai was before he lost his memory. Kurai tried to shake the thoughts from his mind.
After Kurai washed up, he went to find some food. He climbed up one of the trees and grabbed a coconut. He used the hilt of his Keyblade to crack it, but not fully open it. He drank the milk before forcing the rest open.
As he ate the coconut meat, a memory flashed in his mind. It was back when he first became a Keyblade Apprentice. As a child, his Master sent him off to the wilderness to fend for himself. He was unsuccessful for the first few days. It wasn't until he found a fruit tree, that he was thankful he lived as long as he had.
The memory continued until it showed his Master getting him. Throughout the memory, Kurai knew his Master was saying his name. He couldn't hear any words at all though.
Kurai went to wash up in the other spring of the island. He was told to use that one, because the trio's friends played on the beach. As he bathed, Kurai tried to sort out his memories. He wanted to find any related to Darkness.
Kurai shook the thought away as he reached for his clothes. He gave them a whiff and cringed. He hadn't realized how bad his clothes smelled. Without any soap, it made little sense to try and wash them.
He put his clothes back on and grabbed his armor piece. He didn't strap it on since he didn't need it. He hadn't planned to use the armor until he got a memory of it. Until then, he planned to leave it in the treehouse.
When he got back, Kurai felt a presence. He got ready to summon his Keyblade. Kurai eased up when he just saw Sora on the beach. The brown-haired teen waved up to Kurai. He had a bag on his back.
Kurai climbed down the ladder to meet the teen. Kurai couldn't shake off seeing his look alike. It still haunted him.
"Riku and Kairi will be here later," Sora said, snapping Kurai out of his thoughts. "Riku is seeing if he has some spare rooms. And Kairi is making sure we have food for later. I was tasked with," Sora took off the bag on his back, "getting you some new clothes."
Sora handed the bag to Kurai. Kurai took it and looked inside. The bag contained a gray t-shirt, a black zip up hoodie, a pair of black cargo pants, and black and gray sneakers.
"Thanks Sora," Kurai said, putting the items back in the bag. "I'll change right away. Give me a second."
Kurai went into the treehouse and disrobed. He threw his old clothes into a corner. He pulled on the cargo pants first and belted them. He pulled on the shirt and saw it fit him perfectly. It wasn't too tight or too loose. Next, he put on the sneakers. Just like the shirt, they were a perfect fir. Kurai finally grabbed the hood. He slipped it on and was glad to he had a little room for movement. He grabbed his armor piece and strapped it on. He felt like something was missing though.
Kurai had jumped out of the treehouse in time to see Riku and Kairi walk along the dock. He ran up to Sora as the two arrived. Both smiled at Kurai when he stopped.
"Hey Riku, Kairi," Kurai said, smiling.
"Hi Kurai," Kairi said, holding up a grocery bag. "Tada! Breakfast. I brought bread, juice and cold-cuts."
"Let's eat!" Sora cheered.
The Keybearers all ate happily. Sora and Kurai started playing with their food, laughing like children. Riku looked like he was trying to repress a headache. Kairi just laughed at the antics of her best and new friends.
Kurai sat at the shoreline as he ate his second sandwich. The Destiny Trio were laying on the sand, relaxing. A memory flashed through Kurai's head as he stared at the water. In his memory, he was floating across a dark ocean. He floated into nothing. From where? He couldn't remember.
He hadn't realized the group was staring at him until Kairi shook his shoulder. Kurai stared at the Princess of Heart a little confused.
"Are you okay?" she asked him. "You were spaced out for a bit there."
"Yeah," he said, with a sigh. "I just keep getting only fragments. My memory isn't enough to remember my past."
"Well, that sucks," Sora said, sitting next to him. "No problem, we're here for you. We're friends now."
"Friends?" Kurai had innocent eyes. He turned to see Riku sit next to him.
"Yeah," the silverette said, "We may have had a rocky start, but all of us are friends. You, the three of us, and Roxas and Namine."
"That's right," Roxas said, as he and Namine appeared near the group. "We trust you."
Namine nodded with a smile.
Kurai started shaking. Everyone else started freaking out when he started to cry. Each of them tried to soothe the raven-haired Wielder. Kurai couldn't stop crying. He was so happy to have heard that word.
Kurai sniffed. "I've… I've never actually had any friends. From what I remember, I was a bad student. So, no other Apprentice wanted to be near me."
"But you're a nice guy," Kairi pointed out.
"Whose memories are broken," Namine told her.
"Oh right," Kairi scratched the back of her head, embarrassed. "Well he is still a good guy. I don't care if his memory is gone."
"So says the Princess of Heart," Riku laughed.
"Hey! I'm an excellent judge of character!"
Everyone, even Kurai, started laughing. Everyone was carefree. To Kurai, it looked like they were relaxed after a tough life. Kurai was glad his first real friends were so amazing. He was happy, from the bottom of his heart. -
Kurai sat on the Paopu tree as the sun set. Sora, Kairi, and Riku left for the day. They promised to come back as soon as possible tomorrow. Kurai smiled as he remembered the day he had with them. Sparring, eating lunch and just having fun. It was a memory he'll cherish.
"So, did you have fun with the kiddies?"
Kurai turned quickly in the direction of the voice. On the bridge leading to the island was the raven-haired lookalike. Kurai got off the tree and prepared for the worst.
"Why are you so defensive towards me, Tenebrae?" The lookalike laughed. "I thought we were friends?"
"You're no friend of mine," Kurai growled. "And my name is Kurai. I don't know who Tenebrae is."
"Of course you don't," a new voice said. "For you and he are the same. It's a pity you don't fully remember."
Kurai turned and jumped back. He found the source of the voice at the edge of the islet. It belonged to a young man with tan skin, long silver-white hair, and bright golden eyes. This one was dressed in a long black coat that covered his body.
"I see we need to awaken the fragment in you," the tan boy said. "So you can remember your purpose."
Kurai watched as the boy raised his hand toward him. With a pulse, Kurai felt his head split. He gripped it in pain. The pain caused him to fall to one knee. Memories that didn't make senses flooded his mind. One that he didn't understand was with a man with golden eyes.
Kurai collapsed. Before he lost consciousness, he heard the two intruders talking.
"You sure he'll remember?" the lookalike asked.
"He will," the tan boy said. "After all the fragment is at full strength." *****
Tenebrae opened his eyes. They flashed gold as he held his head. He pushed himself up. Looking over him were Vanitas and a young version of Master Xehanort. He growled before sitting back.
"Was the force necessary?"
"I did what needed to be done," Young Xehanort said.
"You remember now, right?" Vanitas asked, a maniacal grin on his face.
"Yeah." Tenebrae matched the grin. "How can I forget the promise I made? That man gave me more power than I could imagine. So, when do we leave?"
"Not yet," Young Xehanort said. "Tomorrow, Sora and Riku will leave for their Mark of Mastery. Until we can get Sora, you will be on another mission."
"What a pain," Tenebrae growled. He wanted some fun after all this time.
"Yours is a simple mission," Young Xehanort said. "Of the 7 Princesses, you are to find 6. Go to their home worlds and provoke the Heartless. That way, they'll be forced to use their Light."
"Sounds like fun. When can I leave?"
"After Sora and Riku," Young Xehanort answered. "They should be gone before noon. If you want, you can have some fun with Kairi. Give the other you a reason to leave."
"I've got just the plan," Tenebrae said with an evil smile. "Anything else?"
"Yeah," Vanitas finally spoke up. "You'll need to go to Traverse Town. There, you'll found a way to Radiant Gardens. When you get there, look for the "fairy" Maleficent. She'll have knowledge of the worlds you'll go to."
"All right then," Tenebrae said. "Guess I'll head to bed. Big day tomorrow, right?"
"Don't mess up," Young Xehanort said. "Once the worlds are overrun, leave."
"Gothcha!" Tenebrae said, heading to the treehouse. -
Tenebrae yawned loudly as he woke up the next day. He smiled wildly as he remembered what today was. He looked out the doorway and saw the trio head his way.
He put on his best innocent face and covered his eyes with his hair. If they knew he wasn't the other one, it would ruin the plan. He met them on the beach. Sora and Riku didn't seem happy, and Kairi looked worried.
"Hey guys," Tenebrae said as sweetly as he could.
"Hey," Riku said low. "Kurai…"
"What's wrong?"
"Me and Riku have to leave," Sora said.
Tenebrae faked being shocked. He had to restrain himself from smiling.
"Why?" he asked, trying to sound heartbroken.
"The Mark of Mastery Exam," Riku said. "Mickey told us Yen Sid wanted us to take it."
Tenebrae remembered his weak self didn't know those two. So, he had to act like he didn't.
"Mickey? Yen Sid?" he faked ignorance. "Who are they?"
"Mickey is an old friend," Riku said. "Yen Sid is an old Keyblade Master. Both have helped us more times than we can count."
"Mickey will be here in a few hours," Kairi spoke up. "So we thought we could introduce you.:
"That'd be nice." Tenebrae internally gagged. The Disney Castle King was the last being he wanted to see. But his other didn't know the King.
"While we wait," Sora chirped, "Let's have some fun!"
The other three agreed. "Right!" -
Tenebrae was a man of little patience. He loved deceit and trickery, which made it more fun. But overall, he could barely stay quiet. So having to be someone else, who was quiet, was a pain.
The time before the King arrived, dragged for Tenebrae. He hated that he had to appear weak in front of the others. And, he had to restrain any impulse that told him to strike.
So, when the red and yellow blocked ship appeared, Tenebrae internally relaxed. When the Mouse King came and introduced himself, Tenebrae pretended to care. Relief came to Tenebrae as Mickey took Riku and Sora away for the Mark.
Tenebrae and Kairi waved goodbye as the ship left their World. Tenebrae knew Kairi would be vulnerable for a while. He had to make his move soon.
After an hour of watching Kairi sulk, Tenebrae made his move. He walked up to the Princess and sat next to her. He saw the sadness in her eyes, which brought joy to him. He knew now was the time to get his weak self to leave.
"Are you okay?" he asked sweetly. "You know they'll be okay."
"I know." Kairi hugged her knees. "I just have a bad feeling about this."
Tenebrae was anxious to know what she felt. But at the same time, he wanted to start his mission.
"Really?" he tried to keep the innocent voice. "Well, I believe in them. And besides…" Tenebrae placed his hand on Kairi's cheek to have her face him. "I won't leave you."
Before she could say anything, Tenebrae kissed Kairi. He felt her tense and push him away.
"Kurai! What is wrong with you?" Kairi's face was red from embarrassment.
Tenebrae made sure to keep his eyes covered. His smile grew though.
"I thought you were lonely," he said. "Like me. I didn't mean to scare you."
"They only left an hour ago!" Kairi slid back on the sand. "That's not enough time for me to get depressed."
Tenebrae crawled up to her. "But it is enough time to tell you how I feel." He pushed Kairi down, so she was on her back. He placed one hand on her shoulder and grabbed her waist with the other. Tenebrae leaned down to kiss her again.
He felt Kairi flail around more. Tenebrae was glad because this made his job so much easier. He let her push him off, and he landed on his back. Tenebrae pushed himself up, and saw the Princess on her feet, with a look of fear on her face.
Tenebrae stood up slowly. He let his hair fall past his eye and revealed his golden eyes. He saw her tense, her Keyblade flashed in her hand.
Kairi pointed Destiny's Embrace at him. "Who are you!?" she shouted. "What did you do to Kurai?"
"I am Kurai," Tenebrae laughed as he summoned his Keyblade. "And just so you know, showing your Keyblade means you want to fight. So bring it, Princess."
Kairi was hesitant. Tenebrae taunted her to attack. When she charged, he sidestepped and slashed her back. The cut was shallow, so only her dress was cut. Tenebrae laughed as she turned. Before she could react, he charged. He knocked Kairi's Keyblade away, slashed her on each arm, and finished the combo with a shallow cut on the front of her dress and top.
Kairi backed away holding her dress together. The cuts on her arms were starting to bleed, and her breathing was becoming ragged. Tenebrae couldn't help but laugh at her.
'This is way too easy,' he thought happily. 'Now for the final touch.'
Tenebrae charged at Kairi one more time. This time, he knocked her Keyblade away and tackled her. He pinned her arms to her side and straddled her. He smiled viciously as he saw her struggle.
"Go ahead and squirm," he told her. "It will be more enjoyable that way." He moved closer to her and said, "Because you'll be nothing but a burden, anyway."
When Tenebrae saw Kairi start to cry, he laughed. 'Now,' he thought as he forced himself to give his other half control. *****
The last thing Kurai remembered, he was talking to the Sora lookalike and the mysterious man. How he had gotten in his current predicament, he didn't know. He was on the beach, on his hands and knees. Underneath him, pinned to the sand, was Kairi. She was bleeding from a pair of cuts on her arms and her dress and undershirt were cut down the middle. The last thing that he saw were tears in her eyes.
Kurai quickly got off Kairi. He backed away, wide-eyed. He looked at his hands and saw blood on them. He felt himself get sick.
Kurai looked up to meet Kairi's teary gaze. He felt like throwing up. AS he took in her form, he felt like he had something to do with it.
"Kairi…" he whispered.
"GO AWAY!" she shouted at him. "Go away and never come back. You're a horrible person Kurai!"
Kurai froze when she yelled. He felt himself start to cry. He didn't know what he did, but there was no other explanation. Kairi was right, he was a horrible person.
"Kairi," Namine said, appearing next to the Princess, "You can't just yell at him. How do you know it was him?"
"It doesn't matter!" Kairi shouted. "I never want to see him again!"
Kurai hung his head. She had every reason to be mad. Even though Kurai couldn't remember, his heart he caused her pain.
Namine went up to Kurai and put a hand on his shoulder. "Kurai, Kairi is simply scared. She doesn't know what she is saying."
"She's right," he said, taking a step away from the blonde. "I'm a horrible person. I don't deserve to have friends like you."
Kurai backed away before summoning his Keyblade. He pointed it away from the two girls. A beam flashed from the tip of the blade. About 3 meters away, a portal opened where the beam stopped. Without looking at the girls, Kurai walked into the portal. The last thing he wanted was for them to see the tears in his eyes.
As he walked through the portal, he heard Namine call out to him. He knew it was best to just walk away. No matter where the portal took him, he knew it would be far from Kairi. Kurai could never face the Destiny Island kids again. -
And here we go! Now that the Fragment of the Seeker has been awoke, how will Kurai be able to handle his new journey? And will Tenebrae cause more heartbreak for his other half?
I guess you'll have to come back next time to find out. Catch ya later!
