October 4th 2018…
John Sr ran through the airport, finding Amanda and Finn.
"They left. You gave me the wrong time on purpose, didn't you?" Amanda replied, clearly upset.
"Look, I didn't mean to. But they will be alright, sweetheart." John Sr responded.
13 years of frustration and anger blowing up after those words, Amanda slapped her father across the face and Finn pulled his wife back.
"Why would you do that to me? Why not to her?!" John Sr retorted angrily after his shocked expression disappeared.
"Because every time it involves Yukie, you purposely lie to your daughter just to break her heart! You did it when she called after Mandy first left, you did it again when she called after Eddie died and you did it again today! You know what?! Until you get your head on straight about Yukie, any chances of you seeing your grandson will be very limited, old man!" Finn responded angrily before he guided Amanda out of the airport, into the Altima and drove off with her.
Amanda rubbed her stomach as Liam kicked and Finn slowed the vehicle, brushing Amanda's tears away.
"Why does he always do this?" Amanda questioned quietly.
"I don't know, Love. We know that Yukie never did anything to him, and she agreed for peace but he took too long to show up." Finn responded.
"What if they never come back?" Amanda asked.
"Yukie said she'll call and check on us from time to time. Don't worry, we'll probably see them on the road when Sami finally recovers." Finn responded.
Amanda nodded and managed to get comfortable as Finn knew that Liam was kicking up a storm.
"He's probably never going to meet his aunt and uncle when he's born." Finn responded.
"I wish his grandfather had been the bigger person for once and swallowed his pride." Amanda replied.
"I wanted him to do the same thing too, but he just only cares about himself and his family. Not even others." Finn responded.
"And we're not gonna be like that with our children." Amanda replied, grimacing slightly as Liam stomped at her ribcage. "Liam's mad." She responded.
"Mad about his own grandfather." Finn replied as he nodded.
Amanda looked at her chiming LG Aristo 2, seeing a text from Dean.
'How did it go, kiddo?'
'My dad gave me the wrong time on purpose, I didn't get to say goodbye! :'(' Amanda responded.
'Where is that asshole? Do you want me to take care of him?'
'I snapped and slapped the taste out of his mouth.' Amanda replied.
'Atta girl, I bet that felt good after so long.'
'It did.' Amanda responded as Finn stopped outside of Pizza Hut.
"Maybe some pizza will cheer you and Liam up." Finn suggested.
Amanda nodded as they grabbed their things, got out and locked up the car before they walked in.
And as they ate at home, Amanda felt calmer…
Present time…
"Dad always pushes her too far. Did she split his lip open, Mom?" John asked while on a video call with Carol.
"No, just a bruise across the face. I don't know why he'd lie to her. This could have been the last time Mandy could ever see Yukie again in person." Carol explained.
"It could've. Now Mandy's heartbroken." John replied.
"She is and that'll take time to heal. She feeling okay, physically?" Carol responded.
"Bruised a bit, Liam cracked one of her ribs a few hours ago." John replied.
"He got mad too." Carol responded.
In their home, Amanda was resting after eating… and Finn let Seth in, Seth seeing that Amanda was guarding her right side.
"Liam got angry?" Seth asked.
"Yeah, and cracked her rib." Finn responded.
"That boy's got his mom's temper." Seth replied as Amanda rubbed her stomach while asleep.
"It's not nighttime, Liam." Amanda whispered.
"And he's even giving her a hard time." Seth responded.
Finn nodded and crouched down, lightly rubbing Amanda's stomach to soothe Liam.
"Mommy needs her sleep, and you too, Liam. Let her rest up kiddo. She had a bad day today after when your aunt and uncle probably left for good." Finn responded quietly.
Amanda got comfortable as Liam calmed down, Seth lightly kissing Amanda on her forehead.
"I wish she didn't have to go through this." Seth responded.
"Same here." Finn replied.
It was after getting off of the flight that Yukie saw a text from John.
'My dad gave Mandy the wrong time on purpose and she finally had enough and slapped him.'
'She should've done that a long time ago. But I'm very happy she did that.' Yukie responded.
'People can only take so much, Yukie.' John replied.
"Damn right, they can." Yukie replied quietly as Sami reached them with the luggage cart.
"Do you need something while we're at the airport? Food, clothes, whatever, Yukie girl." Sami asked.
"Good idea. Mandy slapped her father." Yukie responded, Sami turning wide eyed.
"She did? After so long?" Sami asked once more as Yukie grabbed the first duffle bag, until he stopped her.
"Yeah, finally did. Sami, I can do things too. I'm not disabled." Yukie explained.
"Yukie, you're pregnant, you can't lift heavy things." Sami replied before they kissed.
Settling into the hotel for now, Yukie and Sami ate.
And Yukie looked at the recent sonogram picture of Liam.
"I hope our child survives this time, just like Liam. But I did promise to check on her and the little guy no matter what." Yukie responded, before placing her hand on her slightly swollen stomach.
"We'll have our miracle, no matter what." Sami replied before they kissed.
October 5th 2018…
Amanda got back into the bed, Finn holding her close to him.
"Squirming?" Finn asked.
"Yep." Amanda responded.
"Is he hungry or he wants to stay up all night?" Finn asked.
"Wants to stay up now, I just ate." Amanda replied as Finn noticed the slightly smudged dutch chocolate ice cream around her mouth.
"You shouldn't eat that, he'll probably stay up while moving around." Finn responded with a slight laugh.
"True… I just go straight to eating ice cream when I feel down." Amanda replied, their left hands on her stomach as Liam kicked.
"Still feeling down about what happened, Love?" Finn asked.
"Yeah. I honestly hope they're okay." Amanda responded before they kissed and closed their eyes.
And Amanda thought back.
