Love You to Death
Chapter One: Somber
Introduction
"Back in the academy... things were so much more simple. I never dreamed our lives would end up this way... so dark.. so... somber."
Three years earlier:
The birds were chirping and the sun shined bright. Students poured into the academy as Naruto did his usual; create mischief.
"Hehehe, THIS WILL BE GREAT!" Naruto exclaimed as he set a trap at the classroom door, impatiently awaiting his new sensei to enter the doors. "He won't even know what hit him!"
Soon, he heard foot steps start trudging down the hallway.
"Ooh yeah, I'm gonna get him."
Naruto had planted a string and board eraser at the door. "When it opens, he'll be extra dusty! Hehehe."
Then there he was, Iruka Sensei opened the doors and fell down through the door, coughing and hacking as dust from the eraser filled his mouth.
"NARUTO!" Dust flew out of senseis mouth.
Naruto began laughing maniacally and he was pretty proud of himself.
"Take your seat!" Iruka grumbled. "It's class time, not play time."
Naruto grumbled angrily, "Yeah, yeah... whatever ..." but thought about his prank and giggled all the way to his seat. He sat down and started to think though. Think kind of hard. That's about all he did. Life wasn't fair for Naruto.. for he contained the 9 Tailed Fox inside of him, therefore cursing him forever to be a Jinchuriki.
"No one cares about me..." Naruto thought. "Nobody even needs me. I'm a freak."Thoughts of all the kids that he watched as they were walking into that classroom raced through his mind... those same kids. Making fun of him, pointing at him... even worse, ignoring him.
"They'll see..." he pondered."
"One day, I'll become hokage!"
He was pretty confident in himself. The excitement of the prank was wearing off and he lazily observed Iruka Sensei.
"Almost everyone is here, class. We're waiting for one more! Just take your seats and be patient and we will start our lessons."
Then everything stopped.
Naruto glanced at the door and he had never been in more awe in his life.
Iruka Senseis eyes lit up. Now this was a promising student.
The last of his clan, there he was.
Sasuke Uchiha.
Present
Rain.
More damn rain. Naruto rolled around in his bed, restless as every night before lately. The days were long and the nights even longer. The Akatsuki, rogue ninjas, and all kinds of other trouble were always running amuck. Naruto just barely cracked his eyes and peeked at the mess that was his room. The table had left over ramen bowls and milk cartons from days and nights before. Well... at this rate, maybe weeks. The floor was riddled with dirty clothes, a few forks and silverware. Naruto sighed as he thought ... "I really should start cleaning this room for often. If anyone came in here, I'd be embarrassed and they'd be ashamed... would I blame them? Nope." He sat up and groggily rubbed his eyes. Was it morning? No. Just more rain on another foggy night. Not to mention, another bad dream and another night in a cluttered, messy room. Naruto lazily slid out of his bed to go take a step outside of his room at the Hidden Leaf village where he had spent his whole life. The wind howled and blew some rain into his whiskered cheeks. He glanced up at the cloudy, yet surprisingly starry sky.
"The sky is beautiful... even though I really hate the rain." Naruto thought. He smiled as he watched the droplets hit the ground stories beneath him as he stood at the top story of the complex. His thoughts wondered... then his smile faded. He missed his friend ... Sasuke. The last missing piece to complete team 7. The friend and rival Naruto grew up with. He was sure Sakura missed him too.
"Sasuke... I swear I'll bring you back. Are you looking at the stars too?"
Three years earlier:
Sasuke entered the classroom. He ran his fingers through his own spikey black hair. His eyes were black with a stare that could pierce through ice. His skin was pale, he bore a monotonous voice and mostly a poker face. He made his way to his desk which was seated directly in front of Naruto. Then that's when the kids started whispering...
"Did you hear? His whole clan was slaughtered and he was the only one left alive."
"Yeah, I heard it was his brother. That's crazy!"
"Wow, so he's an orphan huh? That sucks."
The girls in the class room giggled. "But I heard he's so strong! Cute to top that!"
Narutos ears radioed in on all the gossip going around the classroom. "The last of the Uchiha clan, huh?" He thought. "So he's alone... like me." He glanced at the black haired boy in front of him.
Sasuke felt the blonde haired boy staring at him. "What are you looking at punk?"
"Nothing, dude! Geez. You're not that cool!"
"He's not that cute. He looks mean." Naruto thought.
Sasuke huffed and turned around in his seat and focused his attention to the teacher. "What a stupid kid." Sasuke thought to himself. "He won't amount to much."
"Are we ready to start, class?"
"Yes, Iruka Sensei!" They all stated in unison.
Present:
Ororchimarus caverns
The night was dark, but the caves at Orochimarus hideout were even darker. Sasuke sat at his desk in his quarters, pondering and observing the ugly patterned room of which he was forced to stay in. It was actually pretty depressing. The bed wasn't that comfy either. He sat and ate another measly meal served by that creep Kabuto.
"It tastes like trash." Sasuke remarked in his head. "I've ate dirt that tastes better." He wasn't even really sure what it was. Well, at least he wasn't starving. He finished his bowl and decided to walk the corridors of the caves. "I need some fresh air..." he got up out of his chair and slid it back. He grabbed his clothes from the closet and put them on, and tied the ropes around his pants. Then Sasuke made his way down the halls of darkness approaching the exit. He never really relaxed, he trained day in and day out. When he exited the caverns, he inhaled and exhaled deeply.
"For once, I'm alone. And might be a little at peace." He thought.
Sasuke walked and sat on a rock in the vast dirt and desert where he now called home. He had began thinking of home, the hidden leave village and of his clan... the clan his brother Itachi Uchiha had slaughtered.
"One day, Itachi... I will avenge my clan."
Sasuke kicked a rock and watched it fly away. He came to Orochimaru to become stronger. So that one day he could defeat his brother in combat. The wind whistled and it began to dribble a bit with rain.
"Rain? Here?"
Sasuke held his hand out as he felt the cold tears of the sky fall upon his palms. He suddenly felt the thoughts of Naruto and Sakura... primarily Naruto. He clenched his fists as he looked into the starry sky.
"Na-ru-to... are you looking at the sky too?"
